We had the best time sailing with Captain Charlie! He was super informative, quirky, and made the whole experience so much fun. He had absolutely everything we needed, from water to snorkeling masks, which made the trip that much better. There were just three of us on the boat celebrating my friend’s recent wedding, so having the boat to ourselves made it feel extra special and personal. I can’t say enough good things about The Daffy Sail Boat cruise. It was very chill, the sights were amazing, and the captain was a blast. A true man of the sea. He taught us (my wife) how to sail and was very courteous while sarcastic. He offered what he had in alcohol with no hassle because I forgot to prepare. I recommend this for groups or couples as it is again very chill and relaxing. 10 stars to Captain Charlie and the Daffy! 🌊 🛥️ 🦆

We went out sailing on a very windy day. It wasn’t the best conditions but we tried it anyway. Caption was hilarious and I seriously could just listen to him talk all day. Was a good sport with us Nebraskans! He knew a lot of history and seemed to know every single person on every boat we passed by. They all waved and talked to us as we drove by.

Captain Charlie was a delight and made our sailing trip sooo enjoyable!!! His extensive knowledge of the boat and sailing was impressive!!! He's strict about his rules once on the boat, as he should be!! Our trip was on a beautiful, calm day and we enjoyed it immensely!!! We had wind, rain and COLD! But Captain Charlie was an exceptional Captain who navigated the seas perfectly avoiding nearly all the rain! We had a great time with all of the history and stories Cpt. Charlie shared with us. Will definitely be doing this again!

We had the absolute best experience sailing on Sailing Daffy with Captain Charlie! We booked the sail to celebrate my husband’s birthday and had a dear friend in town joining us with our 2 sons—and as sailors ourselves, we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day. Leaving the dock at 9:30 AM was ideal and let us beat most of the downtown river traffic, making for a smooth and relaxed start. Once out on the ocean, the conditions were fantastic, and Captain Charlie was wonderful—knowledgeable, welcoming, and generous about letting all of us take the helm and sail for a bit, which made the experience even more special. Add in Jimmy Buffett playing, sunshine, great company, and a beautiful sail, and it truly doesn’t get better than that. From start to finish, it was a memorable, fun, and authentic sailing experience. Highly recommend Sailing Daffy and Captain Charlie for any celebration—or just an incredible day on the water!

Absolutely unforgettable experience! We went sailing as a family and it was everything we hoped for and more. Sailing on a real sailboat in the open ocean was a dream come true for us. The captain is extremely experienced, professional, and at the same time very warm, open, and friendly. Everything was clean, comfortable, and truly family-friendly. We felt completely safe and relaxed the entire time, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Being under sail in the open ocean was simply breathtaking. We have wanted to try sailing with a captain in the open ocean for a long time, and this exceeded all our expectations. Highly, highly recommend — and we will definitely be coming back again very soon!

I just want to share my experience on my sailing trip in Florida with captain Charlie in Daffy sailboat. I have to say that captain Charlie was great. He made us feel as if we knew him for a long time and he set the tone for my friends and I to have an incredible and unforgettable sailing experience. We started off with Captain Charlie and he gave a short captain’s briefing and then we were off. Captain Charlie will do all the sailing if you want or you can join in on the fun and steer the boat or pull some lines. We had a great time and Captain Charlie is quite entertaining. Before going on the trip, I was a little bummed that there was a 1 hour trip to the ocean and back, but it turned out to be a bonus tour through some of the canals and we got to see a lot of beautiful houses and boats. In the ocean we started sailing and each took turns steering the boat. We had a great time and Captain Charlie entertains the whole time. We would definitely go again.

We were able to charter the Daffy the same day we first contacted Captain Charlie. I booked the Daffy, a 387 Catalina Sloop for only two people, me and a friend. He was very professional in explaining what he would provide and how to get to his boat. He was also flexible about what would be a good time to start our sail. I am not the nimblest of people and he assisted me greatly upon boarding and departing from the vessel. His knowlege of the area and his seamenship was superior. Unfortunately the weather did not remain pleasant, but we knew it might rain before we left. Captain Charlie delighted us with many tales of his sailing experiances and his knowlege of the area. I highly recomend him if you are looking to charter a sailboat in the Fort Lauderdale area.

A sailing adventure with a salty sea captain. Charlie is very experienced and he will show you the ropes. We met his wife, too. A wonderful woman. 4 hours passed quickly. We went out to sea on water about 400 feet deep. If you like sailing, you'll love this.

Very good experience all around. The captain makes it an even better one. Great guy, very funny. Charlie runs the show when it comes to sailboating in this area so if you’re gonna go sailboating pick this guy he educated us what to do and what not to do and made everything very clear. The vibe was amazing as well, in my opinion you should pick who you sailboat with based off the sailer cause they make the whole experience, and this guy did all of the above.

This sailboat ride was absolutely amazing, one of the coolest experiences of my life. You would not regret it. Captain Charlie greeted us with a warm smile and an impressive introduction. He’s been sailing for 62 years, and you can tell! His knowledge, passion, and energy set the tone for an unforgettable day on the ocean. The water was a stunning, crystal blue and being out there with my friends (all teens) felt like something straight out of a dream. We got to relax, laugh, and even got help out with the sails, which was such a cool hands-on experience. Watching how the sailboat operates up close was not only fun, but also inspiring. Captain Charlie made it even better with his friendly personality and stories. He’s incredibly easy to talk to, full of knowledge, and genuinely made us feel welcome and safe the whole time. We enjoyed the experience and are considering more formal sailing lessons another time. We had the benefit of a beautiful day with calm seas and open skies. Navigating to/from the sea was full of impressive sites and an interesting peek into a whole nautical way of life unconsidered by the landbound.

Be forewarned! Cpt Charlie is a salty character and runs a tight ship. Fear not though, it is all a part of the entertainment factor. Prepare to be promoted and demoted during your cruise. I enjoyed it so much, I went out again a few days later!

Captain Charlie is a great guy who is a Fort Lauderdale lifer. He is very knowledgeable regarding all aspects of sailing and willing to answer any and all questions. This was a wonderful afternoon sailing with Captain Daffy! He is a character and just a great guy! He clearly knows boats and sailing! We were all at ease and had a fantastic afternoon! His boat is beautiful and comfortable with shade and sun! There's plenty of seating and a cabin downstairs with a bathroom. We took our 2 and half year old and he had a blast! Captain Daffy let a few others try to steer the boat and gave quick steering lessons to a few of the young adults on board. Made some great memories! Reasonably priced, and he even allowed us to bring a few extra people on board last minute. Just a wonderful overall experience and will be booking again next time we're in town! We loved this excursion! We went with our two kids (8 and 10) and they had a blast on the boat. Captain Charlie is knowledgable, funny and engaging, and he let us all take turns driving the boat and helping with the sail. He has a promotion system that kept our kids eager to help. The ride took us through the river where we could see beautiful homes and yachts, and then out to the ocean for a few hours. Unfortunately we didn’t see any manatees or dolphins but the trip was incredible and we would highly recommend this excursion with Captain Charlie.

My cruise on the daffy was more than fun. Super educational. And an all around good time. The whole purpose of this was to see if I get sea sick, but about half way through I realized that not only did captain Charlie share his passion of sailing with me, he also started a new passion of sailing in me. I loved the open water, wind, seeing sea turtles and flying fish. Captain Charlie was awesome. He taught me how to steer the daffy, he was funny, informative, and honestly just a blast to hang out with. It was just the two of us, and we had an amazing time. I will definitely be chartering with him again when my brother comes to visit. And I would recommend him to anyone looking for a laid back good time. Of course you need to follow rules, they are there for your safety. But he’s definitely someone who gets the point across very quickly leaving more time to enjoy the ride. We booked this for a bachelorette party (5) and had a blast—even with choppy water out at sea and one of us getting seasick. Captain Charlie was a unique character but knew how to operate the sailboat with ease. He took amazing photos of our group in the canal and of the bride driving the boat, which became the perfect memory saver for the excursion. If you are sensitive to bolder personalities and don’t have a wide sense of humor, I would recommend a different experience.

My friend came in town for the weekend and we last minute booked this sailing trip and it was the best decision!! The weather was beautiful and we had such a a great time learning about the sailboat and local area. Definitely would love to do it again!

Captain Charlie was not only a hoot but a very skilled and professional captain of Daffy his sailboat. The trip both ways through downtown Ft Lauderdale was scenic and also very challenging with the other vessels going through and the drawbridges to go under. So cool to be out in the ocean sailing around. Charlie also had us help put up and take down the sails which was very interesting to learn. I even sat in the captain chair and steered a little bit.
