The sunset dinner cruise was anything but. By the time we left the sun had already set and the window seat I paid extra for, you couldn't see anything but darkness and the reflection of the inside lights on the glass. Any appetizers, drinks were extra so after paying what I thought was a lot of money for very mediocre food, it was a long three hours, then received another $179 bill. When scheduling a 22% gratituity was already added then our less than average waiter asked for either a cash tip or Venmo in addition to the 22% he already got. Overall a less than average experience on an old boat and wouldn't recommend this to anyone. It was a poorly spent $700+ for 4 of us.

Itinerary
Experience one of the top-rated things to do in Destin as you indulge in fresh Gulf seafood, prime beef, and southern classics. Your dinner cruise experience begins with a stroll through the marina to the 125-foot Solaris yacht. After being greeted aboard by your captain, a server will escort you to your reserved table. Venture to the open-air sky deck to enjoy coastal breezes, breathtaking views, and possibly a dolphin sighting. The Solaris dinner cruise leaves the Sandestin dock promptly at the scheduled departure time. Enjoy live music by the in-house entertainment while you cruise into the best view of the sunset with unobstructed views from all indoor and outdoor spaces. About 30 minutes into the cruise, guests are asked to return to their tables for their three-course meal. Your dining experience includes a fresh salad, your choice of chef-prepared entree (must select prior to cruise), and dessert. After dinner, continue to enjoy the live music which can be heard from all three decks. Don’t forget to visit the captain in the pilothouse, dance under the stars, and enjoy a serene evening of star-gazing on the sky deck.

This was a pleasant excursion. Our waitress( Theresa) was great. We were seated at a window table near the kitchen, though somewhat rather cool. The captain was extremely helpful as I experienced a challenge walking to the pier and they provided transportation back to my vehicle upon conclusion of the cruise. The DJ was also very good as he played many of the favorite tunes.
Everybody is so nice and be ready to make some friends. And take lots of pictures. Crew was fantastic.
No handicap parking close to the marina. I had 3 individuals in my party that can walk but not a long distance without being able to stop and rest. It would have been nice if some how a golf cart could have been available to take them down the pier to the boat until the rest of us arrived to board together. Service was great and Food was good except for the green beans were not cooked long enough and were still very hard. Captain was very welcoming and the trip and views phenomenal.
Food was excellent Music was entertaining. They seated us with a good group of people. Top deck had a beautiful view
WE HAD A WONDERFUL TIME ON THE CRUISE! Our waiter, with his plastic waxed mustache, was attentive, professional, and fun. The food was TOO OF THE LINE DELICIOUS!! We had virgin mango Pina coladas, that tasted like they were made on the islands! The ship was clean, the music was fly! We celebrated my father's 92nd birthday, and I am Thankful and Grateful for the experience! They sang happy birthday to him and many of the passengers continued to wish him a happy birthday as we circulated the ship.
We have been charged twice for our dinner cruise. We need someone to help us with a refund of our double payment deducted. It is very difficult to get help!
Our experience was wonderful. I would just say bring a jacket because the air blows on you pretty heavy and you can be really cold and uncomfortable however, our server JJ was very nice and closed events for us but their fence on the other side that will blow and you can’t ask people to close theirs
Our experience aboard the Solaris in Miramar Beach was amazing. Unfortunately our cruise was cut short an hour due to a storm rolling in, but we were still able to complete all three courses prior to docking. The food was delicious, my wife said the cheesecake was the best she can remember having, and that the crab cakes were smooth, not chunky. I had the creole chicken, and I was concerned it would have too much heat, but there was just an hint of heat, and the meat was well cooked and quite tender. The onboard entertainment provided by Jae Rich Entertainment was excellent. They did a nice mix of live and “dj” music suitable for eating, and they were just starting an all out dj session with dance music when the boat docked and we disembarked. Our server JJ is the reason I still give 5/5 for a short cruise. He was kind, charismatic, and attentive. Keep it up, sir! For me the biggest hiccup was that there could be at least one sign at the end of the dock so that folks know that they’re heading in the right direction. All of the pre-trip correspondence stated that it’s the biggest yacht in the marina, you can’t miss it. And while it is definitely the largest ship in the marina, there were plenty of other large craft that even the behemoth sized Solaris was obscured from shore.
The cruise should start before the sun sets and the live music became disc jockeys and catered to a small group of partiers and because of that we left 1 hr early ( we docked early because of lightning).
Awesome Service it was a great time and the food was outstanding. The music was excellent and the dancing was fun
To long. 2 hours is plenty long and 3 hours is to long. Nothing to see after dark anyway. With a private table and appetizer and a couple of drinks it’s a $400 outing and it’s just not worth that
The extra $50 for a window seat gives you first service. Table in the middle are served last but great views. Please replace the American flag on ship. Disrespectful at this time.
We enjoyed an evening of music, dining and viewing the harbor. The atmosphere was great and we didn’t feel crowded or rushed. The staff were courteous and friendly.
Totally awesome staff was great ! Our waitress was Trishi. Very professional and attentive!!! She made the cruise great for us
The cruise was excellent! Food and drinks were very good! We had the Salmon and Shrimp and grits. The atmosphere was was good and the service as well! Great experience, I would definitely recommend!
The food was good and service was great! It’s a full 2+ hour boat ride in the bay. Lots of opportunities to see the bay and the buildings in Destin. Highly recommend!
The food was excellent and all staff was super friendly!! Would definitely do again!! Dancing at top of yacht was very fun as well!!
This cruise was okay. We didn't get a chance to do the karaoke because of the weather. For the price I paid, I feel we should have received a discount or received a refund of some sort. The drinks are extremely pricey. They also ask if you want appetizers and the prices are listed. If you are not paying attention, you will pay for additional food. The live band played and the selection of music was okay. They let us make request and played each song we requested.
This was a birthday gift that I spent almost $500 on and the weather ruined the surprise and because she is afraid of the weather we were stuck on the boat and couldn't leave which it was a bad storm so we didn't get a chance to enjoy the experience for her birthday
The weather was a problem, no one’s fault. It would be more exciting with a cruise person to ramp up the music with music and dancing. How about entertainment? It would be nigh to be reminded to bring a jacket. The air inside was very cold and of course on the deck outside was very windy. I was miserable Couldn’t wait for it to be over
Our server, Jay Jay, was great! The food was good, the music was ok. This was my 2nd time sailing and the music was better with my 1st experience.
The weather could impact the experience that was planned and a sunset never seen however, I do applaud the crew and captain for their attentiveness to the safety of all passengers
The food and music were great, but the weather forced us back to the Pier after only 30 minutes. Very disappointing.
The Captain and the staff are wonderful. They’re very professional, courteous, and attentive to their guests.
Food was delicious, music was good, and the view with fireworks was spectacular.....................
Great experience everyone was friendly on the ship great staff along with the captain can’t wait to return next year
We enjoyed our experience, crew and staff was great, beautiful evening and pretty sunset. While the meal was a letdown, the rest of the experience was really fun.
The crew was wonderful. Our sever was very nice and she attended to our every need. I highly recommend this ctuise
Our whole family really enjoyed the entire dinner cruise and the food was really delicious.
Amazing experience. Ally our waiter was great! Food was good too! We celebrated our 40th anniversary and the experience was great. We went with friends and they loved it also! Not your ordinary dinner cruise. This was elevated. Highly suggest getting a window seat upgrade.
We were sat by the back door where everybody was coming and going nonstop. It was absolutely ridiculous.. The food was OK. The view is always spectacular. The waiting. Staff was very nice. Would I do it again with this cruise absolutely not. Not worth the money.
First time ever on a cruise. Took my wife there for her birthday and she loved it. We were actually the only Jamaican on the cruise. And we enjoyed it so much!!! The yacht was booked for two events a wedding and the dinner bruise. And after maybe like a 1hr on the cruise everyone started dancing and interacting. It was a whole vibe that night. The Food was also amazing. I added two packages, a birthday package and an open bar. And the server kept coming. My wife got a cake that came with the birthday package and we basically shared the whole cake with the persons on the yacht. Met a few nice people and the song a happy birthday for my wife!!! And got her to dance. And the loved her dress. Highly recommended 10/10!!
Great meal and experience. Every seat has a water view and staff was friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend to do annually w friends or family.
This was my third dinner cruise in different locations, and unfortunately it was the worst experience I've had. The atmosphere was ruined by a loud group of passengers creating a constant disturbance, and the staff did little to address it. To make matters worse, I was charged $35 for a photo that was clearly unprofessional—the ship's name was cut off and the scenery was barely visible. Overall, this cruise did not meet my expectations, and I would not book with this company again or recommend it to others.
Warning: Declining Quality, Poor Organization, and Not Worth the Price that by the way the final price ends up in $320 per person since gratuity ( obligated 20% ) and drinks will be charge at the dinner time. ( NOT WORTHY ) I strongly advise anyone considering Solaris to think carefully before booking. I have been attending this dinner cruise with my family for years, and the quality has steadily declined. After a bad experience two years ago involving a disruptive wedding party, I gave them another chance—only to find things have gotten worse. The experience is nothing like what is advertised. Instead of a calm, elegant atmosphere, the boat was loud, overcrowded, and poorly managed. A large anniversary party completely took over the space, and other paying guests were ignored. There was no effort from staff to control the noise or ensure a balanced experience, even though many guests were visibly uncomfortable. This is not a one-time issue. It appears Solaris regularly mixes large private events with general bookings, sacrificing the experience of other customers while still charging premium prices. If you are expecting a peaceful or upscale evening, you will likely be disappointed. Service was equally poor. The live music was ineffective because it was drowned out by the crowd. Menu selections were not honored, and everyone was served the same dessert regardless of what they ordered. The entire operation felt disorganized and careless. Even the photography service reflected the lack of attention to detail. Photos were poorly taken, with the boat’s name cut off and no scenic views captured—making them feel cheap and forgettable. Overall, Solaris charges high prices but delivers a chaotic, low-quality experience with little professionalism. After multiple disappointing visits, I will not return. If you value your time and money, consider other options.
It was so great! My husband and I went, met great fun people! Drinks were great food was dry. Fireworks at the end were fantastic! The DJ at the top deck really read the room week And played great music! Over all 8/10 due to dry food.
Great time with my hubby! The sunset was beautiful! When we arrived there was not enough parking at the Baytowne Marina where the Solaris yacht is docked. So you should arrive earlier than the boarding time to ensure you can find close parking. The dinner comes with three courses. The first course is a wedge of lettuce with dressing with small pieces of bacon in it. For the main course you have a-choice of 4 or 5 entrées. We chose the crab cakes and boneless beef ribs, both were very tasty. The dessert was a slice of cheesecake with a drizzled berry sauce on top. (We were disappointed in the dessert as it tasted like a processed Walmart dessert.) They offer appetizers and extras that are not included in your prepaid meal and of course, alcoholic drinks are extra. You can pay your tab at the end if you order extra items and or drinks. Our waiter was not very attentive but was friendly. The 20% gratuity was already included if you purchased through Viator. We selected a cruise that also had fireworks which was a lot of fun! The DJ on the top deck was playing a lot of fun, dance music and appropriate fireworks songs. There were different groups: some couples, families and bunches of friends that attended this cruise. It was a fun party ambience, and even the kids were dancing on the top deck! We left promptly at 7 PM and didn’t arrive back to the dock until about 10:40 PM. The captain did a fantastic job especially turning the boat during the fireworks so that everyone could see it from different angles. I would definitely recommend this cruise!
The food and atmosphere was excellent. Great music and fireworks. It was great to celebrate our anniversary.
Nice Experience, the service was great other than getting skipped for salad service. We had to flag someone down to bring us our salad even though we were seated right in the front. Drinks and food were great though! Loved the music also!
Fabulous dinner cruise. Open bar, band and great food. Dancing and firework show was enjoyed. Staff was very attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
So much fun!! We would totally do this again!
The tour was great, and amazing views. The Service was quick, and the staff was amazing. Definitely would recommend.
The experience was far from comfortable. It was so cold inside the venue that nearly three‑quarters of the guests chose to stay outdoors until the meal was served, and most left again right after eating. That alone made the event feel disconnected and awkward. Unfortunately, the DJ only made things worse—the music selection and overall performance were terrible, which really dragged down the energy of the night.
It was a good time with good food! Had a wonderful time with family and the music was pretty good too!
Parking options are ridiculous. I would recommend getting to the cruise 1 hour ahead of requested time. Then maybe you can find a place to park where your not walking a half a mile to the Ship. Directions that the email you need to have a map attached and a 3rd option for parking because the two they offer were not available. Cruise was a 7/10 due to the weather but dinner and service was a 10/10. I was hoping they would offer some type of discount due to be docked for 90% of the crise due to weather. I understand weather is not in anyone's control but some type of discount would have been the right thing to due since the Cruise part was nonexistent.
Great and tentative wait staff. Live music was played on the main deck once we set sail. It was excellent and gave off a great vibe. We were served a 3 course meal. Dinner was good. After dinner, the music switched to guest requests on the main level, while the upper viewing deck was used as a dance floor with a dance club vibe. I think everyone aboard enjoyed the experience.
Bring sweater. Enjoyed it! First time on a boat. !!! The singer , CREW AND SERVICE was PHENOMENAL!!!!
From boarding through the entire trip, the crew on Solaris were fantastic and tactfully engaging. Michael was our server. He was attentive, professional and still friendly. He kept us informed of upcoming times for each course of the meal, so that we could be sure to be back from exploring the spotlessly clean three decks of the ship. We ordered the crab cakes and beef short ribs. The food was authentic and didn’t taste like typical Sisco Food which was nice for a change. The band was really good and played music that almost anyone would enjoy and dance to! Dancing on the top deck after the sun went down was so much fun with the lights of Destin in the distance. On Tuesdays in the summer there are even a fireworks on the shore! The only issue we had at all was parking. They really don’t emphasize it enough in their introductory email. Parking is VERY limited and we arrived over an hour early. The short explanation in the email about overflow parking in Baytowne Village doesn’t include a map. We didn’t know the area at all and had no idea we’d be walking a good 1/2-3/4 of a mile in high heals. Still, the trip was WELL worth it! I’d recommend it to anyone. We’ve done dinner cruises all over the world and this one is truly one of the very best! The bay is stunning both in the day and at night. The staff and crew are wonderful, the food is fabulous, the boat is immaculate, and the music was classy and fun. You gotta go!!
If you choose to do this(please don’t) Food was awful. I could taste the freezer the Catch of the day was in. I’ve had beef jerkey that was more tender than the braised ribs. Window seat features another couple 1 foot away from you and a server that forgets you. Don’t upgrade anything. Save yourself the trouble and don’t go.
