2.5 Hour Shell Key Island Adventure Including Dolphins And Shells

Captain John and Katie are a spectacular team. We were impressed with their knowledge of the dolphins and manatees that we enjoyed watching. We had a wonderful time exploring Shell Key and all of the beautiful beach treasures we found. We will definitely book another adventure with them.

This was absolutely the best, our Guide John was so amazing!! They lady that helped me book this( I’m so sorry I don’t remember her name) She was so awesome helping and walking me thru everything , we started just booking a tour and ended up not having enough for a reg boat so we did a private tour. OMG I couldn’t have ben happier that it worked out that way. It was my sister in-laws birthday, she loves hunting shells and we found so many amazing shells in the island. John made sure we seen plenty of Manatees and Dolphins. I can not wait to do this again, I highly recommend!! 10/10 for sure! Also Don’t forget John was the absolute best!! Thank you for making our girls trip one for the books!!!

They canceled my trip offered me a different one, but it was four hours long in the middle of the day to a complete different island scuba diving and I just wanted to go to the islands and pick up shells for 90 minutes

Captain Brandy and Captain Robin were awesome. Lots of fun facts about everything we saw along the way. We would 💯 percent take this trip again.

Unexpected great tour. Our original one in the morning was cancelled and they put us on the longer afternoon one with snorkeling for the same price. Saw lots of dolphins and manatees too.

This was such an amazing excursion! The ride to the island was quick and we saw a ton of dolphins and manatees on the way. They even swam along side the boat with us and we were able to stop for a bit to enjoy them. The captains were so friendly and made the whole experience fun for the entire family. We had about 1.5hr on the beach/in the water to find shells and boy did we find some good ones. My kids didn’t want it to end. They are still talking about this adventure. We will definitely be doing this again. So worth the money. We had a blast!

The whole experience was beyond amazing!! We originally booked a 9am tour, but due to 2 crashes and a couple gridlocks, our 45 minute drive turned into an hour and 45 minutes... The staff of Calypso Cat didn't hesitate offering to get us booked on another tour that afternoon that turned out to be an upgrade without having us pay the difference! Very generous of them! They were super friendly and informative throughout the tour. We saw many dolphins, found some neat shells at Egmont key, went snorkeling and saw some cool fish, and genuinely had a great time with them. They also offered complimentary water, had life jackets the kids could use, as well as pool noodles to float with. Definitely plan on booking another tour with them next time we're in Florida!

Great tour. Had fun shelling. Saw lots of dolphins. Had 2 members of party not be able to go due to illness but was unable to get any refund or credit for them.

Amazing! We saw manatee and dolphins. Shell Key was beautiful. John and Jen were so good about pointing things out and stopping for us to view the wildlife. The excursion was well planned and we had plenty of time.

John and Jen were great tour operators. We spent enough time on the island to acquire shells and enjoy the scenery. We had a great time!

My son and I came out for father's day while on our vacation. It was very relaxing. We got some seashells n saw a live leopard crab! It was a great start to a relaxing day. Highly recommend this inexpensive memory

The captain was very nice, the boat ride was relaxing and very time efficient we found so many cool shells and seen dolphins up close as well as a baby octopus and other sea life. Highly recommend!!

Our family had a great time on our trip. The guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. We saw several pairs of dolphins. It seemed that maybe the weather had impacted where we anchored for shelling, we were hoping to find more shells other than the more common “clam” shells. It was a delightful experience and I would recommend this tour company.

This was a great experience! The crew, which happened to be brother and sister where awesome! They were so friendly, knowledgeable, answered tons of questions and made sure everyone was having a good time! They played great music on the boat and the atmosphere was just perfect! The crew was absolutely incredible! A sibling duo who make you feel so at ease and provide an amazing intimate time with everyone on board! So knowledgeable, fun, and professional! We saw so many dolphins, collected so many shells, saw manatees, and snorkeled! I booked this for my sister/dad trip and I will for sure be a returning guest next time I’m there!

Hands down the best in the area for any outing. Forget about the bigger companies this family run business was is still the best in the bay. Very friendly, knowledgeable, and caring staff. Will definitely do again if we’re back in the area.

This was a nice boat ride with very friendly folks on board (those running the boat, and the other passengers too) we saw lots of dolphins and our Captain was respectful of them as to keeping a safe distance and not chasing them around (a major plus for this tour!) - minus one star because the shell area was average in my opinion and nothing special in the finding shells category-- Our Captain again tho went in the water and found several sand dollars and shells for folks on the boat, which was really nice of him.... They provide snorkel equipment, bags for shells and ice cold water. This was a nice way to spend the morning!

The sunset trip to Shell Island and then to see the Skyway Bridge lit up was fantastic! The brother and sister crew were so nice, informative and helpful. An absolute fun evening seeing dolphins, walking on Shell Island, watching the sun set over the ocean — creating family memories!!!! Highly recommend you take this trip!

Beautiful day! We found some interesting shells. The captain even hunted for rare shells for us in deep water.

Guides were great and it was nice to see the dolphins and stingrays. But the shell experience was disappointing. No large shells like were advertised.

10/10 experience. The boat was really spacious, clean and accessible to get on and off. I loved getting to get off the boat to go shelling. I found a massive sea shell! The tour guides were so kind and helpful, even finding shells for us. We saw so many dolphins too.

Captain was funny, knowledgeable, and it was a smooth ride. Plenty of dolphins, manatee, and sea shells. Snorkeling was great and kids 7 and 10 had a blast.

What a great, kind, and family owned operation! Capt John and his first mate Katie were wonderful. They were fun and knowledgeable about the area and local wildlife. We enjoyed our morning shelling/snorkeling so much that we asked if they had room for us to go out with them again on the later snorkeling cruise. We spent the whole day with them on the Calypso Cat and had so much fun and found lots of shells. 10/10 would recommend.
