1.5 Hr Guided Private Everglades Airboat Tour, Fort Lauderdale

We are a family of four from the UK - we had an incredible Everglades airboat tour with Captain Bill! He is warm, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable—truly the highlight of our trip. Our teen boys thought he was fantastic, and we couldn’t speak more highly of him. When our tickets didn’t appear on the Tripadvisor app, he was incredibly responsive—literally within minutes he had messaged me on WhatsApp and sorted everything out. His professionalism, enthusiasm, and genuine care made the experience seamless and unforgettable. We would recommend Captain Bill without hesitation to anyone looking for an amazing Everglades adventure.

Captain Bill is the absolute best there is! He went above and beyond to help make my family and my excursion memorable! My wife, 8yr old daughter, father-in-law and myself took the sunset tour. Saw many gators as well as many waterfowl. Also got a little sneak peek behind the curtains due to a storm that came in quick. Got to hang out at one of the many cabins out in the Everglades and wait out the storm while still learning and having a great time. I could tell our safety was top priority and really appreciated it! He is extremely well traveled and full of knowledge and just overall fun to be with/around. He also helped us choose a place for dinner that he takes his own family to, and it was great!.. shoutout Uncle Al’s!!! Staff and food are great there also! Take my advice and stay away from the tourist traps like Holiday Park! Captain Bill is the only one you need for a great time! My family and I will definitely be back to ride with him!

Amazing tour! Captain Bill was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. He captures pictures and emails them to you, so if you missed it. He also gave us other recommendations of what we should do while in the area. His restaurant recommendation was amazing!

Definitely book with this company! Our family ages 8-74 really enjoyed “flying” through the Everglades hunting for alligators. I am challenged and need a cane to walk. Captain Bill makes this trip! Early morning tour was beautiful weather and very scenic. Captain Bill made sure that we were comfortable before we departed and as we traveled. The 2 hour tour was a perfect amount of time. What fun to ride over the grass in the powerful airboat!!! The boat was so nicely prepared … clean with comfortable seating and storage available. Pre-trip communications were outstanding from advice while booking to re-arranging when bad weather was anticipated. Our questions were answered before we even anticipated them. 3rd generation Everglades veteran infuses personal experiences. TOP NOTCH CHOICE!!!

Captain Bill does private tours, so it was just the three of us. He knows the everglades like the back of his hand and could spot alligators even if all you could see was their eyes! He stopped for us to see them, or turned around if we missed them. He taught us about them, the birds of the everglades and the eco-system! He has a true passion for the glades, animals and environment. He was very safe on the boat and got us back before a storm rolled in. Our teenage daughter said it was "awesome"....so you KNOW it had to be wonderful if you can impress a teenager and she had to get up early to go on the 7:30a.m. ride! We would go on his tour again in a heartbeat!

Captain Bill was so much fun. He has so much knowledge about the Everglades history, wildlife and ecosystem. He stops to talk about the wildlife and has a great sense of humor through the whole tour. This was a “bucket list” item for my husband and Cypress Outdoor Adventures made it a memorable trip! One of our favorite parts is seeing how much he really cares about the environment in the Everglades and stops every time he sees balloons or trash and picks it up! My family of 6 did a private tour with Captain Bill this past week and we had a fantastic time. It was the highlight of the entire trip for all of us! Captain Bill was prompt, courteous, fun-loving and an excellent tour guide. About 5 minutes in, we saw a huge 12’ long alligator and saw many, many more alligators during the two hour tour. We also saw numerous beautiful birds, fish, turtles, unparalleled scenery and even the remnants of a downed plane! Captain Bill is very well spoken and is also well versed in the Everglades ecosystems, land usage and conservation. He explained how he hunts, fishes, does boat rescues and has spent a significant amount of time in the Everglades with his father and grandfather. Contact was easy and thorough. My husband and I took an airboat tour through the everglades with Captain Bill. It was fantastic! He was fun to be with and SO knowledgeable. We saw alligators, turtles, fish, and flocks of beautiful birds. We had two different groups of friends visiting us and he was so informative and enjoyable that we actually went out with him twice in a week!! I highly recommend this great tour to anyone who would like to have a wonderful experience in the everglades.

Wonderful ride through the everglades in a clean airboat with a very interesting and fun captain. Highly recommend the two hour ride as there is so much to see. The ride itself is fun, but interesting stories and wildlife make it a great adventure for all ages. This was not my first airboat ride experience but was definitely one of the best.

Recently went on a 2-hour tour while vacationing in the Ft Lauderdale area—10/10 recommend! Visiting from the North so was psyched to see gators and get an intro to swamp life. Did a lot of research before booking because we wanted to avoid tourist traps and was immediately attracted to the private tours offered by Cypress Outdoor Adventures. Having grown up in the Everglades, Captain Bill knows these glades (and their inhabitants) like the back of his hand and readily supplied gator facts and Everglades intrigues throughout the tour. Captain and Co-Captain are professional, knowledgeable, safety conscious, and fun to be around. Highlight of our trip!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip with Captain Bill! We were a little nervous at first, with the remote departure site and the small boat, but we were immediately put at ease by Captain Bill and his son Bobby. Captain Bill's enthusiasm and obvious love of the area made the tour feel extremely personal, and we saw plenty of gators as we cruised about. We also saw one of the big tour boats go by as we were coming back in, and it only made me more pleased with our decision to go with Captain Bill.

Took my wife for a tour on the everglades on the airboat, was a fantastic trip, well worth the time and cost, Cpt Bill was our guide. He was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and entertaining.

Captain Bill was amazing. Great communication, super nice dude and very knowledgeable. We felt safe and loved our private 2 hour tour on the air boat. It was such a smooth ride and we saw two alligators close up. Would recommend it and him to anyone! I’m heading back, 2 weeks later, to bring my son. Oh, and when he suggests to bundle up if it’s a little chilly, do it! It’s colder out there than you might think. Layers!

If you're looking for the best airboat ride in South Florida, honestly - look no further! My husband and I had the most incredible airboat experience with Captain Bill. He is punctual, friendly, beyond knowledgable, and tailored the entire evening to our requests. While on our tour we learned so much about local flora, birds, reptiles and the history of the everglades. We also tried spear fishing and bow fishing for the first time. It was incredible! This entire experience was so different than anything else that we'd ever done. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

If you have any interest in an airboat tour of the Everglades this is the only one to consider. Captain Bill is the nicest and most accommodating, not to mention the most educated guide in Florida. His boats are private and in perfect condition. His knowledge of the Everglades is from his life long line of history dating back to his father and grandfather who pioneered Everglades tourism. He has a degree from Florida State and knows every detail and the history of the Everglades and its ecosystem. Get the 2 hour tour.

We had an amazing day with Captain Bill and his co-captain Liam on a morning two-hour tour. Captain Bill's perspective, experience and love of conservation is very much reflected in the tour he offers. His tour isn't like the "big boat" tours down the road, and that's a huge plus. Captain Bill goes to areas where the bigger boats can't go and he makes sure that his customers' questions are answered and concerns are addressed. Most of all, the tour shows what the Everglades and life in the 'glades is really like. We saw gators, beautiful birds, points of interest and many more cool things too numerous to mention. Lastly, Captain Bill is responsive to inquiries and communication - a rarity today. Thanks, Captain! We had an awesome morning and we hope to be back with more friends!

Wow! If you can swing the extra dollars to take this tour over all the others offered by other companies TAKE THIS TOUR!! We took the 2-hour tour today and it was AMAZING. Did we get to hold a baby alligator at the end? Absolutely not, and that’s what we liked. It’s not a boat ride followed by a photo op, but rather a rare opportunity to learn about this beautiful and fragile ecosystem from someone who has known it all his life. We saw several alligators and instead of “hey there’s an alligator” we got a lesson on what the alligator was doing, what it’s behavior meant, etc. We also huge flocks of migratory birds, fish, and turtles. I can’t recommend this tour enough. If you’re going to be in the Everglades just once in your life you owe it to yourself to see it through the eyes of someone who isn’t out just to make a quick buck and take another boat full of people out, but someone who wants you to come away from the experience respecting and understanding the Everglades a lot more than you expected you could.

We went on a sunset tour with our Captain Bill, and had an incredible time. We had gone on one previously in Louisiana and this one was far better. We were all adults but it was a great atmosphere for people of all ages! Would recommend it to anyone we know visiting the area!

This was our first airboat tour, and it definitely won’t be our last. Captain Bill took us on an adventure we are sure to remember for a very long time! Riding through the Everglades was breathtaking and beautiful in a way that surprised me. We were able to get closer to an alligator in the wild than we’ve ever been, and at the same time felt 100% safe. Captain Bill is very knowledgeable and I never once felt unsafe during our 2 hour trip ( by the way, you MUST take the 2 hour trip...1 hour just simply wouldn’t be enough). The boat was comfortable, stable, and an enjoyable ride. My 2 teen sons had a blast! Thanks Captain Bill for a fabulous trip - we will definitely be back again someday!! My advice to anyone on the fence about booking - just do it, you won’t regret it 🙂

Captain Bill was educational, funny and informative. The 2 hour sunset boating tour was amazing! I didn’t realize how loud the Everglades could be.. birds, bugs & frogs . I have never been so close to an alligator, great pictures! This was definitely the best part of a week long vacation!!

Took a 2 hour airboat tour. Captain Bill was terrific. He was informative, took us to great spots. We got to see 2 mother alligators protecting her nest. His tour was excellent and I highly recommend taking his tour.

After reviewing several Airboat tour's I chose Cypress Outdoor Adventures based on reviews on Trip Advisor. Captain Bill reached out to us while he was on vacation, out of the country to be exact, to mention that maybe we should chose a morning tour over one in the afternoon. He mentioned that due to the heat, we would be better spotting wildlife in the at that time of the day. He also was open to questions or concerns before out tour as well. This was the first time on an airboat for both my husband and granddaughter. The one I had taken as a teen was more for the thrill than leaning about the ecosystem and spotting wildlife. Captain Bill schooled us on the history of the canals, Everglade life, and so much more. No question was a dumb question. We so thoroughly enjoyed our time that not only did we recommend Captain Bill to other cruise passengers, but we're also looking into coming back in the spring for a guided fishing tour.
