We had a great stay at the Westin Sarasota while there for a wedding! The location is incredible, within walking distance of coffee shops, shopping, restaurants, and the marina. The hotel was bustling with wedding guests and another event. With bikes, a gym, and a rooftop pool, restaurant, and bar, there’s plenty to enjoy. A prime location, and we’d happily stay again!
Overall, I had a good stay at the Westin. My room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the blankets were SO soft—which I definitely appreciated after a long day! Valet service was good, but if you’re staying Friday through Sunday, give yourself about 15–30 minutes to get your car. They can get busy, so plan ahead if you have somewhere you need to be. I really wish the coffee shop stayed open later! It would have been nice to be able to grab a coffee in the afternoon or evening without having to leave the hotel. The rooftop bar has an AMAZING view and the service was great. Unfortunately, the food wasn’t very appetizing and was probably the biggest disappointment of the stay. I’d absolutely go back up for a drink and the view, though. Room service was a much better experience. The food arrived quickly, which was a huge plus. Overall, the hotel was clean and comfortable, the staff provided good service, and the rooftop views are definitely worth checking out. A few improvements to the food options and longer coffee shop hours would make the experience even better.
We had a wonderful stay at The Westin Downtown Sarasota! It’s a beautiful, calm hotel with so much to offer. We stayed in a room on the 9th floor facing downtown—the view from our balcony was amazing, offering a breathtaking look across almost the entire city. The customer service was exceptional. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly, helpful, and thorough. The valet team deserves a special shoutout as well—super attentive and welcoming. Price-wise, it was definitely worth it overall. The only slight downside was the mandatory amenity fee added on top of the room rate. While extra fees aren't completely unexpected these days, since we were only staying for one night, we didn't even have the chance to use the pool, gym, or other facilities we paid for, which was a bit of a bummer. That said, we still have zero complaints about the overall quality, left with great memories, and would happily recommend staying here!
My husband and I have spent two staycations here and are in love with the vibe. The hotel itself is clean and well laid out. The staff are incredible! The pool is always a lovely cool temperature with gorgeous views of both the Gulf and surrounding areas. On our last trip we woke up early and watched the Roman Space telescope launch from the 19th floor pool area. It was incredible! The food is amazing and the chef is always willing to tailor meals to your desire. We are endlessly impressed with this location. Highly recommend!
My husband and I recently stayed at the Westin in Sarasota and we had a great experience for several reasons. The location is spectacular- in between the downtown area and St. Armand’s Circle/beach. The hotel was nice and clean, and the staff were phenomenal. Maria assisted us when we checked in, and she was incredibly kind, welcoming and personable. She went above and beyond to make our stay feel extra special for our anniversary and it made the stay even more memorable. The other staff we interacted with were all very kind and helpful. The hotel has a nice gym, spa, and rooftop with a pool and bar. The EVOQ restaurant in the lobby had great food, and there was a cute convenient store to purchase travel essentials/snacks. On top of that, the hotel had a shuttle that could drive you to the beach or other areas which was something we weren’t expecting or have seen at other hotels we stayed at. We love the Westin and have stayed at multiple properties throughout the country, and we will definitely stay at the Sarasota location next time we visit!
