We chose the Marker for the pools, location and amenities and we had a great time. Our room was not available when we arrived at 2 p.m., but they held our luggage while we explored the very walkable area. We received a text once our room was ready and were pleased to find a clean, spacious room. The serenity pool was a blessing - often I was the only one in the pool in the mornings and even by afternoon, there were still spots available. If you wanted a party or to mingle with others, the main pool always looked like a good time, however we did not use it during our stay. We rented bikes from the "conch"cierge, Reed, who was so helpful with any questions we had during our stay - he rocks! Rebeka with the front desk reached out to make sure we were comfortable during our stay and was very responsive when we had questions.

Really enjoyed, perfect place to stay. Room was beautifully decorated & very clean. Bathroom was exceptionally nice, roomy & spa like. Water super hot, pressure great, ac super cold, not too loud, very cute balcony, 3 pools with cabana options & on site bar. Everything about this resort hotel was 5🌟 Parking was a bit pricey but expected if you know where you are. Staff very polite & helpful, will look forward to staying next trip to Key West.
I booked and paid for my stay at The Marker Key West Harbor Resort weeks in advance for July 20–23, so I expected the hotel to honor its basic responsibility of having my room ready at the published 4:00 p.m. check-in time. My wife and I arrived about two hours early and asked if an early check-in was available. We understood when we were told it wasn't, so we left our luggage with the hotel and went to get something to eat. We returned around 3:30 p.m. and waited in the lobby until 4:00 p.m., expecting our room to be ready. Instead, at 4:00 p.m., I was informed that our room was still not ready. The front desk couldn't tell me when it would be available. Considering checkout is at 11:00 a.m., the hotel had five hours to prepare the room and failed to do so. That is unacceptable for a resort that charges premium rates. What made the situation even worse was how it was handled. Rather than taking responsibility for the hotel's failure and offering us a comparable room at no additional cost, the only solution presented was to charge us an extra $50 per night for a different room. After traveling all day, my wife and I were exhausted and felt we had little choice but to pay the additional cost just to get into a room and rest. We should never have been put in that position. The property itself is attractive, well maintained, and the location is excellent. Unfortunately, a beautiful property cannot make up for poor customer service. The front desk staff showed little urgency, empathy, or willingness to make things right after the hotel failed to meet its own check-in commitment. A hotel's true quality is measured by how it handles problems, and in this case, The Marker failed. Because of this experience, I cannot recommend this hotel and can only give it 2.5 out of 5 stars.
⭐⭐⭐☆☆ My husband and I recently stayed at The Marker Resort and left with mixed feelings. There are definitely things this property does very well. Our room was spacious, exceptionally clean, and well-appointed with great amenities. The location is outstanding—it’s within easy walking distance of Duval Street, the waterfront, restaurants, and many of Key West’s attractions. That said, for the premium price this resort charges (plus a daily resort fee), we expected a much more exclusive resort experience. Our biggest disappointment was the lack of security around the pool area. Anyone can walk in from the parking lot or street and use the bar and pool without any apparent access control. It didn’t feel like a private resort experience at all. The pools were another letdown. In the Florida heat, the water was uncomfortably warm, and it was also noticeably murky and not as clean as we expected for a resort of this caliber. Installing pool chillers and paying closer attention to water quality would make a significant difference and greatly improve the guest experience. We also ordered a pizza from the pool bar, and unfortunately it took an exceptionally long time to arrive. When it finally did, it was not hot and completely lacking in flavor—especially disappointing for such a simple menu item. Overall, The Marker has beautiful accommodations and an excellent location, but it falls short in several important areas considering the premium rates and mandatory resort fee. With better security, cleaner and cooler pools, and improved food quality, this could easily be a much stronger destination.
Truly enjoyed our stay here. The staff at the pool bar were great for drinks & breakfast. Highly recommend getting the breakfast package. The music by the pool is an enjoyable & the serenity pool is a wonderful way to escape the crowded main pools. It is supposed to be an adult only pool, but there were a couple occasions when people didn’t follow that protocol. Nonetheless, it was clean & peaceful. Someone mentioned the pools had cooling mechanisms, but they must have been broken because the pools were extremely warm and didn’t provide much reprieve from the heat. You cannot beat this location; I highly recommend staying on this side of the island this time of year, as the odor of the sargassum & seaweed was very bad this time of year (June). You are so close to many great walkable restaurants and bars on the wharf as well as all the adventure activities. The concierge, Reed, was very nice, knowledgeable & accommodating. As a hotel, I would maybe reconsider booking through Fury though, as we had a bad experience with them. My only red flag was something I discovered when I returned home; my credit card flagged one of my charges I made at the pool bar. I am pretty adamant about writing in a tip & total so there is no confusion regarding how much should be charged to my card (I’ve heard stories about people changing the tip amount). My capital one card flagged my transaction for a 35 percent tip, which I did not authorize. I left $5 not $15. Sure $10 isn’t a big deal but the principle behind how that happened was concerning to me, someone had to have altered my amount. Despite this issue, we would still stay here again time and time again.
