Opal Key Resort And Marina

We have stayed at Opal in the past with our pet so needless to say I was a bit disappointed with our experience this time. Our room was not great (see photos). We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite and the area rug was filthy and had previous dog stains on it. There were wires hanging from the AC units that if someone had kids it would be an issue - I just had to worry about my pet not getting tangled up in them. Wooden boards holding up the AC so it wouldn’t fall out of the wall. The hallway was hot, we got stuck in the elevator because the door would not close all the way and we had to have other guests assist us to pry the door open. It was as if we were staying in a lower end hotel. Hallway rugs dirty too. The maid staff was a highlight of our stay, she was amazing. The front desk, I had asked for service for a particular time because we were leaving with our pet and it was not done - not sure what happened with that; so I went directly to the maid herself. Restaurant food was good and restaurant staff was very good. We will not stay here again because what we paid for the room was not worth the price.

The hotel was absolutely fantastic. Staff were so friendly and welcoming. Loved the complimentary bottles of water, fruit and cookies in reception every day. Our ocean front room was spectacular, the view was stunning and an amazing view of the sunset each night. Room was spacious and clean. Location was fantastic for sightseeing around Key West. Would definitely return.

Just an awesome stay in Key West. Very well run resort. Great location with beautiful water views from the oceanfront rooms and the 2nd floor bar rooftop area. Located right next to Mallory Square. There is no sunset better than a KW sunset! Some rooms are a bit dated, but they are renovating as well. The waterfront restaurant is convenient and has good food (I know it's KW but try the wings). Pool is beautiful with good service. Room AC might be a little noisy if you're sensitive but it didn't bother my wife who is a light sleeper. We've stayed at 4 different resorts on the KW waterfront and this is our favorite 🙂

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Opal Key Resort & Marina in Key West! From the moment we arrived, the experience was exceptional. The customer service truly stood out — everyone we interacted with was friendly, welcoming, professional, and genuinely interested in making sure we had a great stay. The staff went above and beyond, and that level of hospitality made a big difference. The resort itself is beautiful and the location is hard to beat. Being right on the waterfront and within walking distance of Mallory Square, Duval Street, shopping, restaurants, and so many of Key West’s attractions made it incredibly convenient. Watching the sunset and enjoying the energy of the marina right outside the resort was a highlight. Our room was comfortable, spacious, clean, and beautifully appointed, with a relaxing atmosphere and wonderful views. The resort has everything you could want for a relaxing getaway — a beautiful pool area, hot tub, fitness center, spa, marina, poolside service, and excellent dining and bar options. The dining options were also excellent, and having great food and drinks right on the property was a huge plus. The entire resort has a fun, upscale Key West feel without losing that laid-back island atmosphere. Overall, Opal Key exceeded our expectations. The combination of outstanding customer service, beautiful amenities, comfortable accommodations, fantastic location, and the incredible waterfront setting makes this a place we would happily return to. If you're visiting Key West and looking for a special resort experience, I would definitely recommend Opal Key Resort & Marina. We loved our stay!
