Checked in this hotel for my birthday and was excited to have the corner terrace. Traveled from California only to have a surprise to not have received the room I paid for. The front desk attendant waiting until I got to the room for ME to notice and was not up front about them giving my room to another customer until I came back down to lobby questioning. I was promised money off of my room to now look at my CC statement to find I didn’t receive ANY compensation for the inconvenience and even overpaying for a room I didn’t receive. The property was nice but I’ll never stay here again! I’m so disappointed.

We had a wonderful stay at the Kimpton Palomar in Miami! From the moment we arrived, the experience was welcoming and enjoyable. One of the special touches we loved was being offered champagne each morning, was such a fun way to start the day and made our stay feel even more special. We also have to give a huge shout-out to Denise, our shuttle driver! She was incredibly kind, friendly, and welcoming. She gave us so many great tips and recommendations on places to eat near South Beach, which we really appreciated. Her warm personality and helpfulness made our rides so enjoyable. Overall, we had a fantastic experience at the Kimpton Palomar. Between the wonderful hospitality, thoughtful touches, and amazing team members like Denise, we would definitely recommend this hotel and would happily stay here again!
Kimpton Palomar was absolutely wonderful. We loved our top-floor room with a spacious wrap-around balcony offering panoramic views. The hotel provided a complimentary shuttle service to the nearby beach, and the shuttle driver was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. For my birthday, they surprised me with a thoughtful card, a delicious cake in the room, and a bottle of wine. From the front desk staff to the valet and housekeeping teams, we received warm and attentive service throughout our stay. They also promptly fulfilled our request for a microwave, which was not initially in the room. Overall, our four-night experience was exceptional, and I would rate it a perfect 10 out of 10.
Just checked in and love everything about this hotel. Room is cozy and we have a cute little interior balcony. Tastefully designed for the abstract layout. Valet gentleman helped us to our room even though we parked off property. Quick and friendly checkin team. And every staff member seems willing to help. Pool lounges are comfy with great views from the rooftop. In South Beach, but has a neighbor feel. TJ’s and Fresh Market around the corner as well as restaurants with actual tasty food good service and fair prices. I’ve been to South Beach many times but I prefer this location over being in the thick of it.
Nice Staff, But the Room Needed Attention I recently stayed at the Kimpton Palomar South Beach for a weekend getaway, and unfortunately, the experience was a mixed bag. When we first arrived, the front desk staff was amazing and very welcoming. I also asked if they could place a card in the room for my boyfriend, which I appreciated them helping with (Not the staff that check me in I called 3 days before our arrival). However, the card was mistakenly made out as being from the hotel rather than from me, which was a little disappointing because it was supposed to be a personal surprise. The biggest issue was the cleanliness and condition of the room. The room was noticeably dusty, including the telephone, which looked like it had not been properly cleaned in quite some time. The phone also did not work, so we couldn't use it to contact the front desk. The inside of the toilet was dirty as well, which is something that should absolutely be checked before a guest arrives. We also had an issue with the bathroom sink being clogged. It took approximately 15–20 minutes for someone to come up, and then another 20–25 minutes to actually resolve the issue. The employee did eventually return with cleaning spray and cleaned the sink, and I appreciated that he addressed the problem and replaced the towels afterward. Overall, the hotel itself was fine, and the staff was friendly. However, for approximately $230 per night, I expected the room to be clean and properly maintained from the moment we checked in. The cleanliness issues were noticeable enough that they took away from what otherwise could have been a very nice stay. There was also a $150 incidental/security hold placed on the room. I understand that these holds are standard, and the amount itself isn't the issue. I am currently waiting for that deposit to be returned, and I did have a couple of snacks during the stay. For a 4 star hotel just a tad disappointed.
