Hotel is above average, not amazing. But the location, walking distance to Universal and Islands of Adventure (and city walk) make it the best hotel adjacent to universal. Nice pool. Not overly crowded. Wonderful staff. Small gym. The perks for universal access make it cost effective.

Best location if visiting Universal Studios/Island of Adventure. All staff from front desk, to security to pool staff were polite, professional but most importantly friendly & kind. Hotel has restaurants from nice high end to quick serve as well as a nice bar inside and poolside. Hated to have to leave!
We have been going to Universal studios florida for 6 years and this was our first time at Hard Rock Hotel. We will definitely be back to stay. The proximity to the parks is just a short walk. The express passes make it so basically your Hotel is free if you had to buy them. The staff is great and they text you to see if everything is going ok with your trip. To me that's a huge bonus. No 800 number like Disney. The rooms are very spacious and they cleaned our room every day. Very impressed with the entire staff
We love staying here. The hotel is ideally located for easy walking access to Universal Studios. The setting is beautiful and serene, and just walking around the grounds is a relaxing and refreshing experience. The rooms are spacious and designed for comfort and ease of use. Classic rock is playing all over the property, and the mood it sets is rejuvenating for those of us who grew up with it as the soundtrack of our youth. We especially enjoyed the concierge lounge. Food in the restaurants and room service is delicious and thoughtfully presented. Staff are friendly, helpful, and always available. Recommended highly and without reservation!
You’re not going to get the luxury experience you expect for the price you pay. - $9 a day for premium WiFi. We’re paying thousands to stay at a luxury hotel and you’re charging for WiFi. There is a free WiFi, but this barely worked. The premium WiFi, could also barely load any videos or streaming. - $8 water in room, plus 22% charge. This just seemed insulting after the amount paid for the room. - Bartender automatically adding 18% tip to drinks at pool. He did explain to us that this was happening when we paid, but to pay around $20-25 for massively overpriced cocktails, then pay another $10-15 in tips automatically added to the card was not acceptable. We would be more annoyed if we were just drinking beers and this tip was added. - No adults only area at pool. This was a big problem during our stay. As two individual adults with no kids, we wanted to relax after our days out. We could not do that at your pool due to the kids. Unfortunately, as kids are allowed in all hot tubs, there is not a space you can get away from splashing and noisy kids. - Noise during stay from others. We wanted to submit a noise complaint during our stay but did not know how. The room next to us stayed up until 2am every night shouting and playing music. We appreciate that everyone is on vacation, but quiet hours are not enforced clearly. - Massively overpriced store. Items often marked up 5-10x regular pricing. We appreciate that you’re paying for convenience. But when you’re charging $5.50 for a bottle of Coke, or $5 for a chocolate bar, that is just ridiculous. We recognised one of the wine bottles that we could buy from our local store for $10-15. At this store it was $50+. - Shuttles were good. These were very helpful and the drivers were friendly. We were disappointed that there was not a shuttle to Orlando airport. - Fast pass is a massive plus for the hotel. That is the only reason we would return based on the experience we had here. - Not a premium hotel experience.
