The room: Bed was actually comfortable (firm but not “I’m 80 and hate joy” firm). Bathroom was clean, hot water showed up on time like it had somewhere better to be, and the towels were big enough to wrap a small adult. WiFi was the usual mid-tier roulette—fine for streaming, occasionally stuttered like it was thinking about quitting. Thin walls? Yes. I briefly became pen pals with the couple next door’s Netflix choices. No bedbugs, no mysterious stains, no “why is the carpet wet?” moments. Victory. The rest: Free breakfast was the usual mid-tier buffet of “we tried.” Eggs that had seen things, decent bacon, fruit that looked depressed, and coffee strong enough to negotiate with. Staff was friendly and fast—check-in took less time than it takes me to decide if I want fries. Pool was clean and the right temperature for people who say “I’m just dipping my feet.” Location was convenient enough that I didn’t rage-quit the trip. Overall for 3 days: Perfectly fine. Not the kind of place you Instagram, not the kind of place you file a police report about. You sleep, you shower, you leave slightly less tired than when you arrived, and your wallet doesn’t file for divorce. 7/10—would stay again if the price is right and I’m not in the mood for luxury theater.

My family and I travel 10-20 times a year and this the first bad review I had to leave. The gentlemen at the counter was polite and courteous. However they were fully booked and had to place us outside of the main hotel. Which was fine. Even though we booked the room in May which was 4 months ago. Upon arriving to be back of the property it was nice and quiet. However, the light switch did not turn any lights on. It’s 9pm and completely pitch black. I had to put my bags down and use my phone to find a lamp to turn on. The lamp that the light switch activated was turned off. After a long drive I have to use the bathroom. To my surprise there was feces in the toilet. The room other than that look recently cleaned. Why not clean the toilet? The phone in the room doesn’t work so I couldn’t call the front desk. After calling a few numbers I was finally able to reach the front desk of the hotel and not a random customer service agent. We requested maintenance to fix the phone. Did the cleaning crew have an emergency and forgot to flush the toilet? The cleaning crew needs to remember 2 things. Please leave the lamps on so when a guest flips the light switch it actually turns the lights on. And if you need to use to toilet please flush after yourself!! Day 2 - house keeping knocked on the door around 8am. We were still sleeping so we politely said no thank you and went back to sleep. At 11am, I’m lying in bed and my wife is changing the door just opens. No knock, no warning. A man in a blue shirt immediately closes the door after seeing we were still here. Phone in the room still does not work so I had to use my cellphone again to call the front desk about the incident. Maintenance apparently never came to fix the phone while we went out for dinner the night before. September 13 at 11:17am and room number is 2036 if the staff needs to watch surveillance videos to confirm this incident. I have never had an experience so bad I had to do a Google rating.
I didn't stay at the Hyatt, but I attended an event there. The service was exceptional. Everyone was very friendly, helpful and courteous from the parking lot to the wait staff for our dinner, (which was delicious by the way)to the ladies who were cleaning the restroom. All facilities were beautiful, clean and pristine. I would definitely book an event here. Thank you all so much. My father in law's 80th birthday was a beautiful celebration, and you guys were a big part of the reason.
We recently stayed at the Grand Hyatt to celebrate our first anniversary. It was a very special trip because this is also where we first met a year ago. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome. They surprised us by decorating our room with beautiful towel swans and rose petals for our anniversary, which was a wonderful touch. Another detail that truly stood out was that, before we even checked in, they had already placed my favorite English breakfast tea, along with cream and sugar, in our room. As a frequent Hyatt guest, it meant a lot to see that they remembered my preferences without me having to ask. It’s that kind of personalized service that makes guests feel genuinely valued. We also had a great experience with the food and beverage team. Bill at the bar was fantastic, and the bartender at the pool was equally friendly and attentive. Both helped make our stay even more enjoyable. Thank you to everyone at the Grand Hyatt for making our anniversary so memorable. It was the thoughtful details, exceptional hospitality, and genuine care from the staff that made this stay one we’ll always remember. We look forward to returning.
We had a wonderful one-night stay at the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay while attending a family wedding and everything about the experience was fantastic from the moment we arrived. The hotel sits on 35 acres of beautiful waterfront property with lush tropical landscaping bay views and serene nature trails that made it feel like a true resort escape just minutes from the airport. Our spacious bay-view king room was impeccably clean modern and comfortable with a plush bed featuring fluffy pillows and crisp linens that ensured a restful sleep after the festivities large windows offering stunning sunset views over the bay and a well-appointed bathroom with a spacious walk-in shower marble vanity and quality toiletries. The facilities were outstanding with two heated outdoor pools surrounded by plenty of lounge chairs pickleball and tennis courts a 24-hour fitness center and scenic boardwalks where we enjoyed peaceful walks spotting birds and enjoying the waterfront ambiance. The wedding ballroom was elegant with gorgeous bay views and the staff handled every detail of the event seamlessly remaining attentive professional and genuinely welcoming even during a busy weekend. Dining at Oystercatchers was a highlight with fresh seafood excellent service and a delightful atmosphere while the overall service throughout the hotel was top-notch with efficient check-in helpful staff and spotless public spaces. Free Wi-Fi worked flawlessly and the entire property offered a relaxing upscale vibe that perfectly complemented our celebration making our short stay feel like a mini vacation. We would highly recommend the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay for weddings or any getaway and look forward to returning.
