Pros - beach location, close to airport, restaurants onsite. Cons - filthy rooms, old, our bathroom smelled like mildew, and when we checked in, there was hair and dirt on the floor that I had to clean out myself. There was dust and dirt in all of the corners, and every air vent was covered in a layer of dust. The mini fridge did not work, and it smelled like dead fish. They came to replace our door lock in the middle of our stay when that could’ve easily been done before our check-in and nobody had told us that that would happen ahead of time. When we said something about it, they told us to look at a letter in our room, but we had not been notified by staff. The conjoining room’s lock on the door was busted and left us feeling unsafe and overall the hotel was just not clean. In addition, we stood at the hostess stand at their Oceanside restaurant for a good 10 to 15 minutes with our two little kids, while multiple employees walked past us without even acknowledging us before finally seating us. For the amount of money we paid for this hotel, I would not recommend it nor would I stay here again. do better Marriott.

We had a wonderful stay at the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa. The property is beautiful, and having direct access to the beach made the trip feel like a true getaway. We stayed in an ocean-view room with a balcony, and the view was one of our favorite parts of the stay. It was so relaxing to sit outside and enjoy the ocean breeze. The pool and beach area were also beautiful, and the resort had everything we needed for a relaxing trip. We also enjoyed the dining options and the convenient location. Overall, it was a beautiful resort and a great place for a relaxing Fort Lauderdale vacation.
This is one of the first hotels I've stayed at that I can say I have wanted to return to. The staff was absolutely excellent and so helpful. They were incredibly accommodating. I also liked my room a lot. It was very clean, very roomy, and I had an unexpected balcony. The pool area was large with plenty of chairs and umbrellas. Lots of iguanas running around, that was a first! The beach section of the property was also incredibly well maintained and staffed. I'm looking forward to my eventual return to this hotel!
10/10! One of the Best Marriott Properties Anywhere The Harbor Beach Marriott continues to be one of my absolute favorite Marriott properties. The location alone is stunning—set directly on a beautiful stretch of beach where you can choose between relaxing by the impressive pool with full service and entertainment, or enjoying the sand with access to lounge chairs and cabanas. The staff is consistently top tier across the board: front desk, bar, restaurants, and the beach team. A few standouts deserve special mention. Stephanie and Hanna at the front desk were exceptional—warm, professional, and incredibly helpful. Sterling and the bar staff were unforgettable; their humor and generous pours kept us coming back every day. And our breakfast server was phenomenal—she remembered everyone, their preferences, and even their stories, which made each morning feel personal and welcoming. I truly love this resort. You can walk right down the strip and find countless restaurants, and on weekends there’s a lively outdoor market with fresh fruit, jewelry, and local goods. Fort Lauderdale is a fantastic vacation spot, and this property remains one of the best places to stay when visiting. If you’re considering a trip to FTL, I highly recommend the Harbor Beach Marriott—it delivers every time.
It COULD be great...but various weaknesses. MiMi at the beach chair/umbrella hut is just indifferent to her guests. Charging $30 for the umbrella??? C'MON! And an automatic gratuity for that attitude? Same for bartender at poolside restaurant bar where we sat for 10 minutes without being acknowledged. The beach bar was much better and the bartender went out of his way to serve us despite being in closing mode. Nuno - beach server is probably the best ambassador for the hotel. Same for the lobby bar, Irwin was great. Room was nice, great view, but AC struggled to keep it under 76 degrees in the room, bathroom sink didn't drain well - neither of those were resolved. No hot water for Monday morning shower - that was a new experience. Not what I expect from Marriott - but these things can happen. I should also say the housekeeping, valet, front desk team (miguel) were all excellent. So 4 stars despite some staffing and mechanical problems.
