It was okay and served our needs for a one night pre-cruise. The rooms were spacious and the Bay view was great. It was easy to miss the sign outside for valet parking. All of the staff we encountered were very pleasant. It definitely needs updating which I believe they are working on. The hallway carpets are really bad. My husband is a diamond member but wasn't recognized. So no water in our room or dining credits offered. The restaurant was very good with fresh Italian food and I would definitely return there. But the hotel itself is probably a one and done for us. Too many other choices in the area for the next time.

**1-star review — extremely disappointing and absolutely not worth the money.** We booked a 1-bedroom residence at the DoubleTree by Hilton Grand Hotel Biscayne Bay specifically because we expected a nicer room with a kitchen, king bed, and balcony. What we got was completely different from what was advertised in the photos. The disappointment started the moment we walked into the hotel. There was a **very unpleasant smell** throughout the entrance, and the gentleman who checked us in was **rude and unwelcoming**. Huge red flag, but we decided to give the hotel the benefit of the doubt. Then we walked into our room — and it looked **NOTHING like the photos online**. The room was run down, dated, and felt nothing like what we thought we were paying for. The bathroom was also **not properly cleaned, with hair all over the floor**. That is simply unacceptable for any hotel, especially one charging the prices they do. I also left with **terrible allergies**, which I strongly suspect was related to the dust and cleanliness of the room. By the time we arrived, it was almost midnight, so cancelling the first night wasn't really an option. We were so unhappy with the room and overall experience that we **called to cancel our second night and left**. This was especially upsetting because we were staying here for our **wedding anniversary**. What should have been a special trip was made even more disappointing by this hotel. And to top it off. They asked for payment at the valet and then also billed me for it on my bill. **Do not rely on the photos when booking this property. What you see online is NOT what we experienced in person.** The condition of the room, cleanliness, smell, and customer service were all major disappointments. We will **never stay here again**, and based on our experience, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. **Absolutely not worth what we paid.**
Under NO circumstances should you book with this hotel while under construction. Renovations are a necessary evil, we all understand that, but in no way are the conditions of this hotel habitable. Upon my arrival at 10am the water had been shut off, I was told it would only remain off for 1-2 hours. The water remained off until after 9pm that night. Durning my stay I was not able to use the bathroom, wash my hands, or shower. The halls were filthy with dirty sheets and towels, the elevators constantly shut off for hotel residents. If you enjoyed the movie “Backrooms”, perhaps this aesthetic will greatly appeal to you, the liminal spaces were both eerily confusing and disgustingly bleak. More than that, the staff was horribly unfriendly and unaccommodating. To ask to merely even point out an available bathroom on the block, felt as though I was asking the staff for the blood of their first born child. Let me be so perfectly clear, If you would like the ability to relieve yourself at any point at the lodging you have paid for during your stay in Miami, don’t book here. Have a lovely day, and never take your household toilet for granted.
My wife and I have tried so hard to like this hotel given it's location, but they just cannot get their act together. First of all, having been a Diamond member for 15 years in a row, I have seen it all. From very welcoming receptionist that make your day, to complete disrespect. Their receptionist were not disrespectful by any means, but far from welcoming. Did not give any type of welcome and certainly zero comment about me being a diamond member. I have a choice in where I stay and if you want diamond members to stay, be more appreciative. But one of the most frustrating things is being offered an upgrade when I check in, as long as I pay. When you have upgrades available, offer them to Diamond members like your supposed to, for free. From a service perspective, their Internet is terrible. We stayed on the 6th floor the first two times and I had an important business video call. I could not even get a strong enough connection to hold it. I literally had to sit with the door open to the hall and sit in a chair with the computer on the lap. We had the 9th floor last night and same situation, week internet. This should be embarrassing for any hotel this day and age as it is very simple to use a mesh system to ensure all rooms have strong coverage. Beyong this, the hotel and store area under it have been under construction forever. We have accepted this and the disruption due to the nice location. But the hotels communications are terrible. This was our third stay and every time it is chaos. Whether it is trying to find the temporary lobby, where to park, where to enter, or what is open and closed. We just stayed the night of July 17th and the found out the hard way that the fitness center is now closed. The one mandatory requirement we have when we choose a hotel is a nice gym as we workout every morning. NOWHERE did the hotel state that the gym was closed. Not when I booked, not on the app or website, and not even when we checked in. I absolutely would not have booked the hotel if I had known the gym was closed. At check-in they even give you a paper with the list of restaurants and the gym location. So, we get up early and head to the gym. We had to stop by the front desk to ask how to get to it given the construction, just to be told it is closed. This is downright deceitful and unethical to advertise your gym to guests, just to tell them it is closed when we go to use it. This is disrespectful to guests and for this reason, we will not visit this hotel again.
This hotel is in a good location with restaurants downstairs and a short walk to others. It also has beautiful views of Biscayne Bay and service at the front desk was 5 star, but i cant reccomend it due to the condition of the guest rooms and property. The building is now mostly apartments (or some kind of residences), so you enter a sort of glossy business lobby and have to walk past the 6 elevator bank to the small elevator that apparently serves the hotel (note we figured out that you can use the other elevators, they have different floor names). At times with all the cruise ship passengers there is a huge line waiting to go to the front desk (one floor up and oddly named "RG"). RG is also being leased to a botox doctor and a timeshare office so it feels like they are doing everything to squeeze money out of Thule building. I mistakenly booked two double beds (honestly assumed double meant two queens) so that was on me, but the room was too big for them and the furnishings seemed original - tile floors with no shine left that felt dirty and had an almost scary slope from the center, flimsy mirrored closet doors and a bathroom that had seen lots of wear (it was pretty clean and had good water pressure though). We had a balcony which i highly reccomend for the view, but it was dirty and the furniture was busted up. We wound up using the pullout couch (bc 4 people cant comfortably fit in 2 double beds) but had to call housekeeping bc the sheet was covered with crumbs and dirt. The gym was big, but old and everywhere you walked you get the sense they have given up on the hotel side of business. The pool deck appears to be under construction, so maybe they will eventually replace all the heavy red concrete tiles. It could be amazing with the views of the bay but despite the "bar" sign there are no amenities up there (you apparently have to bring towels from your room) except a very dinghy old bathroom. The building has stores on the 1st floor (coffee shop convenience store and some food options including a good Asian restaurant) but it gives off very 90s mall vibe. The valet is chaos, they dont seem to attempt to direct the Ubers and private cars to the lower level (which a sign could do) so you could see your car, but had to wait several minutes once it arrived in the queue, which was frustrating. I stay at a lot of Hilton properties for their consistency and while this had good sheets, towels and water pressure it felt like a much lower class.
