We did not do a guided tour. We rented headsets and toured on our own. The museum is totally worth seeing but I would recommend doing a guided tour over just renting the headsets on you're one you really couldn't be sure if the head set was telling you about what you were looking at...it wasn't clear.

I tried several times to download the tickets on the website but it didn’t work. At the museum I was told that I should have received the tickets via what’s app. The tickets came in over what’s app 5 minutes before our entry time. This was very stressful and disappointing.
This was an amazing place and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Since I didn’t feel the need to know everything about each painting, it was great to be on our own. We were free to read about this things that caught our interest. The building itself was incredibly beautiful. Be sure to look at the ceiling of every room or you’ll miss a lot of the beauty.
A very large museum that needs a few days to truly see it all. We focused on the top floor. Bit of a lairynth to exit. Lots of walking
The communication was great, and the tickets were sent on the morning of via WhatsApp so we did not have to worry about meeting up. The line moved quickly and the museum was amazing.
Really straight forward process to get into the gallery… no queues at all. Really well organised and labelled so we could find what we wanted to see. Spent 2 1/2 hrs there… could easily do longer.
The person who is supposed to bring the tickets was a no show. The only way we got in is one on the museum people called for us and magically the tickets appeared on WhatsApp. That could have been done days ago!!!
It was cancelled! Which sucks because we only had limited time in Florence. This was the second tour that was cancelled from TripAdvisor. I will not be using them again. We will be using City wonders for now on. Because they are great!!!
There is so much to see and experience at the Uffizi Gallery. Be prepared to be awed. Master works by master artists, unknown works of art, this place is just amazing!
We went to meet up with a guide but there was no guide for us. Had to call customer service (Twice in one day). Told them we needed the exact place to meet up with our guide and again they could not help. Told them I’m also not able to down load anything from VIATOR app to get tickets. Finally after 45 min on the phone they had another guide in the area received our tickets and they then sent to us. In the end there was no guide only for us to go in provide proof of ticket and pay more money for audio use, and one that you hold up to your ear. Horrible experience and very stressful. Not to mention we had a tour at Duomo cathedral earlier in am and the guide never showed and after we called c/ service they could not put us on another duomo tour that day but we could do a walking tour of Florence. We took that tour and were told where to meet guide, and we did, and that we needed to look for a person in a green shirt with “my tour” on it. The guide showed up, late, wearing a red shirt and a small 2” square whiter paper attached to his cross bag strap with “my tours” written in his hand writing. Really! We could not get anything right with VIATOR.
Ticketing was easy and entrance to the museum was easy.nite that it may take 10-15 minutes to get through the security check, store your backpack, and get upstairs. Though there are timed entries, there is still a crowd of people in the museum and sometimes they are making a lot of noise. Entry to some rooms can still have a long line. There are many great works of art to see, but you may feel squeezed and rushed. Tour groups may hog the best viewing spots for a time. People and their phones may prevent you from getting unobstructed views and pictures.
Fabulous- buying the advance tickets was definitely worth it especially on a rainy day!!
Great experience. Glad we had a reserved time and tickets sent to us via What's App. They did check our passports - glad we brought them.
Picking up the tickets was easy, right across from the museum. The guide walked us right to the front of the very long line, waited while we’re were “scanned” and walked us in - we did not buy the guided tour so we’re were on our own after that. So simple, would buy this again and highly recommend for anyone visiting the museum.
never go to museum in august - too crowded and hot and expensive - horrible experience I left after an hour
Fantastic building and the exhibits are amazing. Pity about the unhelpful and unfriendly staff.
Save your money, you can purchase ticket at venue for a fraction of the price. Also it’s charged in US not Canadian dollars. This is a ripoff in my opinion.
The Uffizi Gallery is just amazing. So many famous works of art all under one roof. Do NOT book with Trip Advisor as you will pay £37.21 for a standard ticket, whilst booking direct with the Gallery online costs only €25! Really disappointed that they add on such a huge margin.
The Uffizi gallery was a great place to see when visiting Florence . Housing many great pieces of art from famous artists. It was a great experience.
This was simply a timed entrance ticket sale to the museum. I'm glad we purchased tickets ahead of time as the lines can be long to get tickets.
Don’t use Viator. They cancelled our tickets less than 24 hours before our check in time for Gallery Academia. No explanation. No response to my inquiries. We had to hurry to get skip the line tickets and they were much more expensive the day before. We had purchased our Uffizi and GA tickets way in advance with Viator. Also 2 of our party had their flight rerouted and they refused to change the date of our Uffizi tickets even though there was availability. Don’t use Viator. “Headout” worked great for us to see Gallery Academia with skip the line tickets. Folks without tickets were waiting almost 2 hours. Took us about 15 minutes to go through security line with our Headout tickets. I had used Viator in the past for tours in Prague and Iceland as well, but after having tickets cancelled without explanation less than 24 hours before, I will not be using them again. Inexcusable.
It is a beautiful building with many stunning pieces of art and sculpture well worth a visit. Best to visit early before the crowds ,still busy but more chance of getting photos and having time to appreciate the paintings and sculptures
We didn’t have a guide for this tour so maybe I would have felt differently if we had someone to give us information along the way. It’s a very large museum with ALOT of art.
Awful communication. I have uswd this platform for many bookings. I’ve never had such a bad experience with a booking as this. I found no detail on a location to meet with our tour person. I stood in line with what I was sent that said it was our tickets but after standing in line ( knowing I didn’t buy a guided tour) I was told it’s not the ticket. I needed a ticket. I know that the tour leader usually has them so we can skip the line. Absolutely nothing was mentioned about a meeting spot in the information. I was there half an hour early, waited on the line to be told I don’t have a ticket! I didn’t see an “ early access” flag. I searched around and asked other tour, asked the gallery employee, but no one could help. The website had a terrible time loading in that area as well. The tour started at 130 and by 145pm, I gave up. I’m so disappointed. I spent the time and money to get to Florence for THIS museum.
The visit was great. Natalia helped me get the tickets and kept me informed. We visited the museum right on schedule and got WOWed by the incredible displays and was surprised to see Rubens, Rembrandt also there. Thanks to Natalia for all her help
Perfect. Great communication, respectful, fun and on time! Great museum and the booking agent was fantastic. Emailed tickets before even and was easy to enter.
Really easy to find the guide but to be honest there was no queues so we wished we’d just gone along and waited. Quite a lot of the areas inside were under construction and closed for us to see on our trip which was disappointing
The Uffizi is a must do when in Florence! Better directions for meeting representatives when choosing to do a self-guided tour would be helpful.
Very stressful that the contact person was not at the meeting spot when we arrived 15 minutes before the entry time. The company called me at the entry time and at the same time the contact person did show up. Fortunately, my daughter had the WhatsApp app on her phone and we got the tickets from the contact person. It would be good to let customers know that they apparently need the WhatsApp app.
Far too many people allowed into the museum to the point it became crushing, claustrophobic meaning a struggle to see things. Health n safety definitely not assessed this it was dangerous.
Wonderful experience! We are so glad we got to come see all of the wonderful artwork! We would definitely book this tour a second time, should we come to Florence again!
The stairs were quite rigorous and we were very frustrated with the exiting process! We felt like we were in a maze with no exits! Also Not enough benches.
This is basically a scam. They charge you twice the price of tickets and then hand over the tickets to you on WhatsApp. They didn’t even meet us outside the museum. Learn from my mistake and book directly on Uffizi website!
Utter failure! VIATOR/fast access tours stated, “please meet our host near the information point in front of the Nicola Pizano statue…“ Did not receive ticket via email, did not receive ticket via text phone number, NO REPRESENTATIVE WAS AT THE APPOINTED MEETING PLACE (STATUE) FROM UP TO ONE HOUR BEFORE MY APPOINTED TIME! absolute fraud! Filing official complaint!
The gallery is an amazing place. Well worth the visit if you are in Florence. The buildings alone are incredible but the artwork is overwhelming
Staff was very co operative and helped us in getting Wheelchair. Also at the fag end of our tour , went out of the way to ensure that we could visit Vasare Bridge . The layout may looks too linear but open windows , corridors etc makes merge with outside surroundings very naturally. It was equally pleasant to pass through corridors and take outside pictures of beautiful river , buildings etc . A good collection of selected world class pieces. To us , it almost took 5 hours and still we missed few sections! Looks traditional but it’s ok to be functionally good !
Very good but explanation of collecting tickets could be better
It was extremely crowded in April. Rooms were hot. Audio for 6 euros did not work in any of the rooms. Audio did provide information for only one painting and it was completely inaccurate description. Staff did not care. Waited in long line to see the Tribuna room. Only allowed a three second view outside the room.
The queue was quite long, but we managed to get in on our scheduled time, which was good. Overall, we enjoyed the visit — the collection is impressive. However, it was very stuffy inside. It felt like they were saving on air conditioning, especially in the rooms with the most famous masterpieces where it was honestly hard to breathe. At the entrance, audio guides weren’t available in all languages. We were told (not very politely) that Russian is no longer offered. Interestingly though, you can still find guidebooks in Russian downstairs in the shop — clearly already printed and being sold 😄 All in all, it was a decent experience, but I expected a bit more.
It is important that WiFi is working to access the gallery and that the QR code for your ticket is accessible
No host to meet you and show you where to go as described. Spent 30 min looking for this host but eventually spoke with Uffizi employee who told us where to go. This is not a timed entry you go through same line as everyone else. Next time I will save 40€ and loads of confusion and frustration and just buy online at gallery site and enter in my own with a working audio guide. I let the provider know that the experience was not as described in booking info ( no host, no timed entry, no working audio guide) and was completely stonewalled so beware not the most helpful tour company. A simple I’m sorry about your experience and a commitment to properly describe what future consumers will actually be receiving would have been good enough but that was not how it was handled. Uffizi was amazing even with the difficulty with booking.
Severely overcrowded. Ques to enter the museum as well as internal ques to see certain artists and galleries. Too many large tour groups blocking corridors. No internal management of crowds or behaviour of tourists. Too crowded to learn or appreciate the artwork on display. Poor bathrooms small and unhygienic.
Uffizi is incredible with many famous artworks eg Birth of Venus, definitely worth a visit. BUT when the meeting point is a statue please supply a photo of the statue not just the name as there are hundreds of statues!! Took us a while to find it. Why not simply meet at Gate 1 as that is entry point?
The Uffizi Gallery was incredible. The only trouble we encountered was finding where to exchange our voucher for our tickets. We stood in a long line at the ticket office because there didn’t seem an obvious “redemption point” as described by the museum worker. Someone finally pointed us in the direction of a random girl sitting on a bench. She was on looking at her phone. She was the redemption point. There was no sign leading her to us and she just looked like another tourist. Once we found her it was quick to get our tickets. Just a bit frustrating that we had to search for her.
There is are so many masterpieces in the Uffizi, and so many tourists cramming in to see them, that the experience can be a bit overwhelming. But the crowds do thin out as one moves through the gallery even though the masterpieces do not. The rooftop cafe in the gallery is a good point at which to break a tour and gather energy for the second half of this culture fest. For me the Uffizi is worth a visit for the Birth of Venus alone, but there are other great pieces, including the Venus of Urbino and Carrivaggio's The Sacrifice of Isaac.
It was ok! We could just buy the tickets there. The guide was just overall
It’s the Ufizzi. If you don’t love it, you should reevaluate your life.
Excellent. A very friendly, experienced team. I would definitely recommend booking this. Thank you to all that looked after us today
Worse organised gallery ever! Advised to arrive 15 mins before our entry time of 14:45. Arrived at 14:30. It was not until 14:45 they came and organised the huge queue into 14:30, 14:45 and 15:00 entry. Go in to the building until 15:15 (been standing outside in the cold for 45 mins) to airport style security. No apologises for the delay just told they were busy - clearly they had sold too many tickets. Told needed passport but then not checked. One way system was not enforced. One room had a sign saying max 25 people but clearly had more in. Another had a queue to enter with a sign saying not to queue beyond a certain point for safety reasons....the queue went past that point and around the corner. Despite there being staff around, no one did anything about either. Then one tiny door for everyone to exit. The over crowding ruined the whole experience and certainly not worth the money.
Could not download the tickets due to poor local internet. Admission refused
