Had Alex as our driver and he was outstanding. We were able to customize our day and he added in a few places that we wouldn’t have thought to go to but absolutely loved. He talked us through the history of the places that we were visiting as well. Highly recommend this tour!

Itinerary
Our friendly English speaking driver-guide will pick you up at your hotel in Florence to start your day going to PISA, a calm and pleasant town recalling the past of the Pisan republic. The river system in Pisa prevented it from declining towards the end of the Roman Empire. We will focus on the Piazza dei Miracoli (Square of Miracles), a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Duomo is a medieval cathedral with massive bronze doors and its golden ceiling, its medieval pulpit and its black and white marble interior are breathtaking… The nearby round-shaped building is the baptistery, with an octagonal font that contrasts and a large round interior space. The Leaning Tower was the campanile (bell tower for the cathedral) started leaning shortly after its completion in 1173.
After a stop of about 1 hour we’ll leave for SAN GIMIGNANO.The town was founded as a small village in the 3rd century BC by the Etruscan and is famous today for its wine (Vernaccia) and architecture. San Gimignano is often referred to as ‘the town of towers’, as the town has been able to preserve 14 towers from the medieval times….truly a movie set! Enjoy an informative stroll with our driver through the narrow streets of this beautiful medieval pearl.
Is time now to proceed to SIENA but on the way we want to include a quick stop to MONTERIGGIONI, one of the best known and classic walled settlement in Tuscany. This village was built on a hill by the Sienese between 1213 and 1219 to overlook the ancient Roman road, the Via Cassia
he historic centre of Siena has been declared as the World Heritage Site by the UNESCO. Its soaring skyline is its pride, dominated by the Gothic cathedral (Duomo) and the taut needle of the Torre del Mangia and yet the shell shaped Piazza del Campo, probably captures the most attention and fame. It has been seen in films, photographs, and advertising campaigns. The bricks cover the sweetly sloping land underneath and are witness to many events in history, but the most intriguing is the “Palio” horserace, one of the most important things in the life of a Siena native. In the piazza on 2 July and 16 August there is a bareback horse race that was first recorded in 1283, but may have had its origins in Roman military training. Not to be missed the Palazzo Pubblico (city hall) which is a great work of architecture and houses also an important museum of Siena.
On the way back to Florence you’ll have the chance to visit part of the charming CHIANTI AREA characterized by rolling hills dotted by vineyards, cypress trees, olive trees and small towns. Visit Panzano and Greve, two of the most beautiful Chianti towns – time permitting is also possible to stop at a winery for taste excellent wines and extra-virgin olive oil.Return to Florence in the afternoon with full bellies, a happy heart and great memories…

Our driver Alesso was very good. He explain to us everything during the trip. He recommended a good spots
We had a wonderful and memorable trip with Massimo, and his company was very responsive to all our emails and requests to customize our trip. Definitely a highlight of our trip to Italy. Would highly recommend!
Great wine tour with Alex. Very knowledgable and flexible to meet our preferences during the tour. Picked up at hotel. Great experience
This was an amazing experience to be able to see other parts of Tuscany and get a break from the 15 000 steps a day. Being that it was private, we were able to customize the trip being that my wife's pregnant. He drove us everywhere we needed to go to make things easy as well as made great recommendations of must see places and Gelato stands.
An incredible day visiting Siena, San Gimignano and Pisa for 8 of us. Loved the flexibility and low stress of private driver.
We enjoyed our day in Tuscany. Alex, our driver, was on time, friendly, knowledgeable and made the experience to our liking. We went first to the Michelangelo plaza, across the river, where we had not been yet for a great view of Florence. We chose not to go to Pisa, for more time in the Chianti area and wine tasting. We drove to Monteriggiani, a small walled town, which had a recent restoration. Throughout the day, all buildings were a way to feel how itight have been in medieval times. Then was Siena, with its massive, unfinished, cathedral, and the unique shell shaped plaza. We went wine tasting and lunch at Corbacci, an exclusive experience, as we get to pair wine with meal. Our host Agnes guided us through the tasting and with a passion for wine. The scenery of this place is all we have in mind when we think Tuscany. Lunch was great, no surprise. We left and headed.to St Gminiano, another well preserved medieval town, though with a different flare. Alex drove thru the countryside for more spectacular views. Then back to Florence, already planning our next visit.
We splurged on a private car for our day trip from Florence to see the highlights of Tuscany. Massimo picked us up at our hotel and provided the perfect combination of structured and free time to explore Siena and other gems. Definitely worth the extra cost to have a car and driver to ourselves.
Alex was phenomenal! He picked us up and took us to 3 medieval towns and 2 wineries. His knowledge of the area was quite extensive! He was really kind, patient and had the best recommendations both along our route and in Florence. We sincerely enjoyed our day with him and would book with him again if we had more time! Thank you to the coordinator Max for all of the communication leading up to our day. 10000/10! Highly recommended!
Alex was amazing tour guide very knowledgeable. We had a great time saw all of Tuscany and had great wine all in one day!! Thank you !!
You can make this tour what you want. Very accommodating. Driver gave good recommendations. Driver was very knowledgeable
Massimo was wonderful! He was so knowledgeable and was the perfect driver for our day in Tuscany. He got us right from our hotel. Easy to communicate with. It was great because we could customize our day to fit exactly what we wanted. It was a day that my wife and I will never forget. Worth every penny. You will not be disappointed. Trust me.
We really enjoyed our driver, Massimio. He was friendly and informative. The van was very comfortable and the places we visited were amazing! Wonderful experience.
My husband and I had a great day in Tuscany. Our guide, Alex, was knowledgeable about the medieval towns we visited and gave us on point tips as to what to look for and do ant each stop. Rather than go to Pisa we chose to take a tour and then lunch at a vineyard in the Chianti region which was a really good choice. Overall, it was an enjoyable day to see the sights outside of Florence.
Such a fun and interesting day! We went Sept 2023 ( not 2025) and Giancarlo was our guide! We had a lovely wine tasting and lunch at Fattoria Poggio Alloro. Sienna, San Gimignano were amazing- (Pisa was just too touristy and gimmicky). The day was a highlight for us!
We truly enjoyed our day touring Tuscany, especially our guide, Alessandro who was the absolute best! He was very kind, had a great itinerary, answered all our questions, and gave very interesting information about all the areas we visited. Would recommend to all we know!
Massimo was very warm, funny, and extremely informative. He gave great advice on how we should visit the places in Florence. Pisa was interesting and very crowded. San Gimignano was an amazing Medieval town with interesting gelato and chocolate shops. The cafe served very quickly. The view over the Tuscan hills was amazing. We loved the inside of the Siena cathedral. We were stuck in a traffic jam due to an accident and Massimo kept his equanimity. Massimo explained the countryside to us and we learned about cheese, olives, grapes and wild boars. Thank you so much ,Massimo, for a memorable experience.
Massimo was great. Cost was high given that it's per person when there is no financial impact to operator for additonal people. Thought some of the admission fees were covered but none were.
Great tour with a great guide. Sonny offered an alternative itinerary that perfectly met our interests. He introduced us to several beautiful Tuscan villages, ending with amazing Siena. Sonny was knowledgeable and patient with our many questions and our desire to take a zillion pictures.
Pisa and Siena … 2 great stops. You can stay as long or short as you want. Would recommend a private tour
We were a group of 3 couples (6 adults) and had the best day with Allesandro as our driver! We left Florence in the morning where we were picked up, along with our luggage, and we visited San Gimignano, Casa Emma Winery for a delicious lunch and wine tasting, Castellina and another nearby winery, Montefioralle and then dropped off at a private Villa were we stayed in Greve in Chianti (Villa Bordoni). Allesandro was so kind, telling us about the history of the area, while laughing and joking with us. We felt safe and well taken care of for the day. It was a great way to experience Tuscany with safe transportation. I would highly recommend!
A fantastic way to see Tuscany at your own pace choosing where you wish to go. My husband and I took this tour with our two young teenagers so it was beneficial that we were able to choose which places we wanted to see and spend time at. Our driver Matteo treated us so well from the moment he picked us up on time and in his very clean and comfortable luxury minivan. As we moved from location to location we chatted and laughed and learnt so much about Italy in general. Matteo shared many facts about Tuscany and its history. He is extremely knowledgeable, spoke English very well ( even though my Italian is basic, we still all chatted in English). He planned the day for us slperfectly checking in with us and if we wanted more or less time at various places. We were able to see everything we wanted in a very comfortable way stopping in various towns etc. The tour operator was great to deal with and I’m so glad I decided to do a private tour as opposed to a 50-60 plus people tour as the experience was tailored to us and the conversations we had with Matteo during the drive made the experience even better. He is an absolute asset to this company and really made sure we had a great experience.
The lunch at the vineyard and Siena’s cathedral and San Gimongia walled city. Our guide Alex Was great and really knew the history.
Such an incredible day in Tuscany! Alex was fun, knew the most special villages, and areas with the most incredible views and brought us to them! We had a wine lunch and everything was just perfect! We learned so much and couldn’t have had a better experience!
Loved this tour of Tuscany. Our driver, Massimo was very accommodating and willing to adjust the schedule to our interests. He went above and beyond and arranged for a wine tasting with charcuterie in a lovely winery with terrific views of the Tuscan countryside. A+++++
We were a 3 generations family of 8 travelling around Italy. The Pisa and Tuscany tour was a great highlight for everyone. It was a great day trip to get out of the hustle and chaos of the city to a more tranquil setting of Italy. Highly recommend.
Our driver was amazing! Funny, kind, knowledgeable about the area. Tuscany is beautiful and all the tiny towns that we visited were so quaint.
We really enjoyed seeing the sites and different stops in Tuscany! The highlight was the vineyard lunch which we did instead of Siena. It was an additional cost, but just wonderful! Our driver was friendly and knowledgeable.
We had a wonderful day with Massimo who was informative, friendly and ensured that we got the most out of our day. We saw many sights we could not have seen on our own but did not feel hurried in the least. Grazie, Massimo.
We booked a private tour through Viator, and the operator was Tuscany in Tour. Massimo picked us up in a comfortable Mercedes van from our hotel in Florence. In addition to being a lifelong Tuscan local, he is an historian and expert of both literature and art. While he drove us to Pisa, we learned of the region’s history. This added to our experience while at Pisa and the area. He shared the dishes that the region is known for, and where he thinks to best enjoy these foods. One of our stops was at Sienna, where he made superb recommendations for lunch and gelato along with the rich history. We were able to visit a tiny medieval village, Monteriggioni, and purchased a hand-woven poncho of great quality from a local artisan who owns Artes. All of the stops along the full day were worth every moment and penny of the tour.
Massimo provided an amazing informative and personal experience. He was not only professional but charming and knowledgeable as well! We enjoyed getting to not only see the sights but learning more about the people and local cultures. I would highly recommend and can't wait to head back for my next one!
The tour was a great overview of Tuscany, and highlighted everything one would want to see and experience. Max was a fantastic driver who was punctual, super friendly, informative and flexible with our itinerary. Not only did he make our tour as easy and enjoyable as possible but also recommended places to eat in Florence during our stay. Highly recommend this tour! Will definitely book again with this company when returning to Florence.
An incredible day touring Tuscany with Massimo, our charming, informative and caring driver who customized our day by scheduling a lunch and wine tasting at Casa Emma, Pisa, San Gimignano, Greve-simply an unforgettable day and memories to last a lifetime. A must do trip for all! Grazie Massimo!
This was exactly the day trip we wanted to experience some of the highlights of Tuscany without committing to multiple days' travel. When we met our guide, Massimo, outside our apartment in Florence he took the time to talk with us about what our priorities for the day were and then recommended the route and timing that would allow us to do all of them. Along the way, Massimo offered some excellent information about the next stop so we had an idea of what to expect, as well as recommendations on things to see and places to stop. He was conversational and engaging without being overbearing or intrusive - a great skill. He was also accommodating to our request to play music while we were driving and he offered recommendations on restaurants and sights back in Florence, as well. The trip itself was great. The car - a Mercedes V-Class - was clean and comfortable, and Massimo did his best to avoid major traffic snarls. It was great to be able to just sit back and enjoy the ride. As we approached each stop, Massimo suggested an appropriate length of time for us to spend in exploration and clearly explained when and where we were to meet to depart. His suggestions were spot-on and helped us plan our sight-seeing well. If you are eager to spend significant time exploring Pisa or Siena (or wine tasting in Tuscany) this is probably not the tour for you. If, however, you are looking to see some of the most iconic sites around Tuscany in a single day, this just about perfect.
My wife, Kimi, and I, along with another couple, spent a day in Tuscany visiting the Florence American Cemetery, Pisa, and Lucca. On the way back to Florence, we stopped at Fattoria Carmignani where the owner served us a spectacular seven course lunch. Our driver, Sonny, was friendly, knowledgeable and very accommodating. We had a great day. Tuscany In Tour also set up a two hour guided tour of Arezzo that was wonderful. We are sorry to have missed Massimo ths time, but hope to see him next time we are in Florence.
Our tour operator changed the day of our tour the week before our tour. We were ok with that. Although it made me nervous when all of the emails from Viator had our original date. When he arrived, a little late, he talked us out of three sites because he said there wasn’t time for all three. We paid for a 10 hour tour but he was convinced it was only 8 hours. So we skipped a stop and ended up with an 8 and a half hour trip. Instead of the trip being planned out for us he asked what we wanted to do. We have never been to Tuscany so we had no idea what we should see. We are not sure why we didn’t have the trip that was advertised. We basically had a driver only and no tour guide. He never gave us any helpful advice. We did not feel that we got what we paid for on this trip. All of our other Viator tours have been great.
What an amazing experience! Giancarlo was an excellent guide, he gave so much history in a fun manner. Gabrielle’s driving on narrow winding roads was masterful! Sienna and San Gimignano were every bit like you see in a movie. Lunch at #fattoria Poggio allora was fabulous- food and delicious wines. A long and beautiful day!
Aldo was very kindhearted. He show us in a short time the best of Tuscany . Good conversation . Historian if I may say , love to make people happy. Very flexible . He is the best. Highly recommended .
Our driver Sonny, was very professional and friendly. He was also very informative. He took us to Pisa, San Gimignano, Siena, Monteriggioni and a wonderful winery for wine tasting and sampling of local cuisine.
Amazing tour. Our guide Massimo was an absolute pleasure. Totally worked the tour to our preferences, super knowledgeable not only of Tuscany area but all of Italy. Mercedes can had plenty of room and was extremely comfortable. One of the highlights for us during our stay in Italy. Thank you again Massimo you were a joy to spend the day with. Blessings to you and your family.
Our driver Aldo picked 8 of us in Florence and we went to Siena, San Gimignano and a lunch at a winery in Chianti!! Our day was beyond excellent!! Aldo was fun and we had great interesting conversation! Our lunch was incredible!! The views are beautiful! Tour guide in Siena was very good!!
One of the best days of our European vacation! Aldo our guide was informative, entertaining and added so much from a local’s perspective. Tuscany is very hard to see by bus or train. This made it incredibly easy to see so much, comfortably, in one day. Don’t hesitate booking- you will be so glad you did!
Going to Tuscany and having a wine tasting/lunch was high on our list of things to do in Italy. We booked this private tour and Aldo was our guide for the day. He was very friendly and so knowledgeable! He even came in on his day off to do our tour, which we really appreciated! We highly recommend Aldo and this tour!
First of all we booked our EXPENSIVE private tour to Toscana in Spanish and when The driver came start the tour in English and we complained he was very rude saying was not his problem, Also he was trying to skip Pisa from the beginning because of traffic or something like this and we have to show him the program we bought. Tuscany was beautiful but I understand when we pay $700US we need to have what we bought not just the driver convenience.
The service ethic is world class. Received daily updates was and drivers were always on time. Massimo was great and our stops was always insightful and interesting. His recommendations on shopping and where to eat was spot on. If we return to Italy there is only one company we will use.
Amazing excursion, Aldo made every minute memorable, huge grazie Aldo!!! He was so knowledgeable, accommodating and super fun to spend the day with. We've already recommended this trip and Aldo specifically to friends. Can't wait to do this again!
loved this tour! Aldo our tour guide was wonderful and we had a great time! A highlight of our trip.
Aldo was an outstanding guide that we would highly recommend. We spent the day with him in Tuscany and it was our favorite day in Florence. When we met Aldo in the morning he learned what we were most interested in and then helped build a customized tour for us. Aldo’s background in art history made the tour more than just the destinations along way too – we had the chance to really learn about the history of the region. I have Celiac’s Disease and cannot eat gluten, Aldo made sure there was a meal available when we opted for add on wine tasting. Aldo gave us restaurant recommendations and tips for the rest of our time in Florence. Thank you to Aldo, Max, and the team at Tuscany in Tour. This experience is one you won’t want to miss out on.
We had the most memorable day of our entire trip when we took the tour of Tuscany. Our driver, Aldo, was so informative, full of knowledge and took us to villages all over Tuscany. I can't wait to return to Tuscany again some day to visit our new friend Aldo.
We booked with Max several months ago, to go see the countryside in Tuscany, and visit Pisa and some other cities. Our driver Aldo, was very informative and knowledgeable, and we enjoyed his stories and company. The van was fine, and we had no issues on our trip. There are a lot of trips out there, but we are glad we found Max and would highly recommend Aldo for your driving needs! Grazie!
