We had an amazing time on this adventure! Not only was the dogs adorable, it was so much fun watching them hunt for truffles. The wine and lunch experience was delightful. Amazing views made it a beautiful day. It was a bit of a drive to get to the event but worth it!

This was the best part of my trip to Tuscany. Lorenzo was a terrific guide, so knowledgeable and flexible. He even stopped in the middle of a vineyard where they were picking the grapes so I could take a picture and taste a grape! The truffle hunting experience was amazing and fruitful. The dog was amazing and talented! The family who took us and hosted us were sweet and friendly and welcoming. I thoroughly enjoyed this experience.
Food we had here was our best meal of the whole trip. Wmthe dog we had was riccolo and was super fun.
A great experience. Really good way to see the country side and experience the culture of the area. People could not have been nicer.
The truffle hunt and day on Tuscany was the highlight of our trip around Italy. Daniel, our guide, was knowledgeable, welcoming and took great care of us. The. Truffle hunt was so much fun with Francesco and his hunting dog, Sallie. Lunch was phenomenal and the stop in San Giangnomo was simply breathtaking. A dream for me, my husband and our 8 year old son.
Our truffle hunting experience in the Tuscan countryside was easily the highlights of our entire trip. From start to finish, everything felt warm, personal, and unforgettable. First, we have to rave about our driver, Christian. He went so far above and beyond anything we expected. Not only did he make the ride comfortable and fun, but he surprised us with a stop at a stunning Florence overlook, gave us great local insights along the way, and even drove us directly back to our hotel after the tour — no extra transfers, no stress. On top of all that, he helped my mom explore clues about her Italian ancestry, which meant the world to us. He’s the kind of person who turns a great experience into a truly special one. The truffle hunt itself was incredible. We were lucky enough to go out with Lillo, a 15-month-old truffle dog just learning the ropes (and needed persuasion with pollo(chicken)) — and watching him work was pure joy. Guided by Luigi and his son Luca, we learned so much about the tradition, the land, and what makes truffle hunting such a cherished part of Tuscan culture. They were patient, passionate, and clearly loved what they do. After the hunt, we were treated to a home-cooked meal that I am still thinking about. Simone and Luca (the brothers) prepared everything with so much care. The standout dish? The squash lasagna — something I never knew I needed in my life until the very first bite. Truly unforgettable. If you want an authentic, heartfelt, and delicious Tuscan experience, this is it. From Christian to Lillo to the entire family, every moment was thoughtful, memorable, and absolutely worth it. Highly, highly recommend.
Where do I begin? What a PHENOMENAL EXPERIENCE. Christian our driver, Franchesco the Truffle Hunter and Sally the best dog - made this experience beyond amazing. The hunt was thrilling, we found white truffles! The lunch was extraordinary ( the view and the service) and oh my gosh the shopping at San Gimignano was an experience in itself. Thank you for a wonderful time!
Great experience truffle. Our guide was great and the experience with the Tuscan Truffle Hunter was fantastic! I would recommend it to everyone.
This was hands down, the best experience we had during our trip in Italy. We met with our guide Lorenzo, in Florence and took a well air-conditioned van for about a 1 hr drive to the vineyards of chianti region. Lorenzo was so passionate about the region and was very knowledgeable about the local food, plants and culture and we immediately were grateful that he was so welcoming and helpful! Lorenzo made sure the entire trip to accommodate us and made sure the trip was stress free and fun! After arriving at a stunning setting for our truffle hunting, we were greeted by a local family with many decades of experience truffle hunting with their dogs. We spent about 1 hr and 10 minutes hunting for truffles and our truffle hunting puppy Lilo found so many black summer truffles! Afterwards, the family prepared an incredible lunch for us using vegetables fresh from their garden, and the truffles that we hunted. Salad, pasta, steak, dessert, wine grown at their vineyard and coffee to finish off the meal. This was the best meal we had even better than a 2 star michelin restaurant we visited during our trip because it was truly authentic with absolutely fresh ingredients, not a commercialized production of food. Afterwards we visited San Gimignano on our way back and it was very charming and picturesque. We enjoyed some really awesome shops there as well. I’ll never forget this experience and if you have time to spend a day looking for an authentic experience, this is it!!!
This was my favorite day of our trip to Italy. The truffle hunting was exciting and successful, the dog was hilarious, and Luigi, Luca, Simone and family were welcoming and informative and great hosts and chefs. Our guide and driver Bijan was excellent. The truffle lunch overlooking olive orchards was spectacular. No complaints, highly recommended!
Jojo was punctual and greeted us w a smile at our apt in Florence. Our drive to San gimignano was beautiful and JoJo provided history along the way. The truffle hunt w the Tuscan truffle hunter and his dog Selly was an adventure. Selly found 10 truffles that we took to our lunch spot. It had spectacular views and our lunch was delicious especially w our freshly shaved truffles and fresh organic ingredients. Yummy wine and limoncello accompanied lunch then city tour w world famous gelato. Amazing day with excellent customer service. Xoxoxo fun family exclusion.
What an incredible excursion unlike anything we e ever done before. Francesco and our driver were very friendly, informative and fun! All the details were well thought out - the upfront communication, from the transpo arrangement, to even the shoe coverings! Each segment was wonderful - the dogs, finding and digging up the truffles, the truffle meal, the ancient city. You can’t make this up - it’s a true experience. We loved this and it was absolutely worth it!
Francesco and his dogs had the best attitude, personality, excitement and passion for their work. It was absolutely phenomenal experience that was worth every penny I paid for!!
Guido was by far, the best guide we had on all the tours we did in Italy. He was very engaging and knew his history and kept us informed of everything we were seeing. Unfortunately, the Truffle Hunting part of the tour had to be cancelled due to heavy rain and unsafe conditions in the forest for the dogs and us. The tour office pivoted nicely - added a wonderful 4 course lunch at Fattoria Poggio Alloro which was fantastic. We also visited San Gimignano, and he steered us to the 2024 world champion gelato store! Excellent. We spotted the American Cemetary in Florence on the way and stopped there for to pay our respects. On the way back to Florence, we stopped at Michaelangelo Square, overlooking Florence - spectacular view. Finally, he dropped us off at the Leather School in Florence and introduced us to one of his friends who worked there. Really interesting experience.
The walk in the woods was relaxing. Watching the dogs find and explode with energy to dig the mushroom out was fun. Amazing these dogs. A wonderful day completed by lunch and wine.
Excellent hunt! Francisco and his 3 dogs are truly professional and entertaining! He knows his stuff- and he's so animated with pure love of truffles! Loved our lunch afterwards with freshly grated truffles and grrrreat vino on the most picturesque hilltop! Best tour we did!
What a delightful experience. Watching Francesco work with the three dogs and the excitement of discovering truffles was really beyond my expectations. Francesco was very informative and passionate about his work and Tommaso was an excellent guide and interpreter. I can't recommend this tour highly enough. The delicious food, olive oil and wine at the organic farm took it all to a stellar level. I hope everyone can have as great an experience as I did. Thank you for the exceptional attention to detail and delightful guides.
Christian and Francesco and the dog were all great great great The trip was authentic. Christian was a very professional knowledgeable tour guide. The truffle hunting was the real thing!! The lunch was phenomenal.
I have to say the dinner! The setting and the food not to mention the service was more than outstanding.
Noaro & Sally showed us a great time! What a unique experience to see the dogs in all their glory finding truffles. The views and countryside were lovely. delicious food and wine by the fire side afterwards followed by a stroll in San Gimingnano…we had a great time! Our guide Daniele shared fantastic videos and photos with us. We highly recommend!
Highlight of our stay in Tuscany . We hunted white summer truffles with Francesco the truffle hunter along with 3 dogs . We went through dense forest so was the real deal ( recommend wearing shoes for walking through forest and long pants ) We then went on to have lunch with Christian our guide and visited historic San Gimignano which was also great . Christian was very knowledgeable on the history and was an excellent guide and driver . Although the lunch was very nice the only drawback was there could have been more truffles on meals ( I am a truffle fiend) but all in all a really great day . Highly recommend
This was the best excursion we went on while in Italy. It was truly a magical day. Our driver Max was so great. He found out we were in Florence for the Cure concert and we loved 80s music so when he came back to pick us up he had made an 80s mix to share with us and our daughter. We jammed to great music and shared stories as we drove. The truffle hunting was fantastic, Lucas and his father Luigi were so nice and educated us on the art of truffle hunting. I love their attitude towards the land and maintaining nature. Richola their dog found 3 black truffles and 1 white one fairly quickly. We then went to lunch at their outdoor patio/kitchen. It was heaven on earth. Max said it was one of the nicest places he has seen. We ate an amazing lunch prepared by Antonella and her mother in law Giuseppina. We sat and ate and visited while looking out over their orchards and olive grove. They truly made us feel like family. Max then took us to the Medieval city close by. At the gelato shop in the city square I highly recommend the Italian Garden gelato. It has tomatoes and basil in it. Sounds weird but it was amazing. We then stopped by a local Vinyard and purchased some 12 year old aged balsamic vinegar. This was truly the highlight of our trip. Thanks.
Absolutely an amazing experience! Truffle hunting with Moreno and the dogs, Julia and the 4 course meal with 7 wine tasting was more than I expected. The whole tour put together by Fun in Tuscany was a Tuscany delight. My special thanks to Gabriel :)
Our tour was fantastic! Our driver, Guido, was an excellent guide and very knowledgeable about the history of Florence. Francesco and his truffle dogs were the best, and they even managed to find multiple white truffles in the off season. We loved seeing the dogs search for truffles and then wag their tails and start digging when they sniffed something. We then had an amazing private lunch - pasta, carpaccio, and eggs all served with the truffles we found that day! We concluded the day at San Gimignano where we had world champion gelato that was delicious - and so many unique flavors! Overall, the tour was fantastic and the logistics (drop off, pick up) were easy. Our guides were amazing, and I would highly recommend this tour.
Franchesco's dog found handfuls of truffles and we really enjoyed eating them! It was like being hosted by a friendly Italian with a cupboard full of truffles. Great tour with San Gimignano as a bonus.
This was a phenomenal experience. We met at the meeting point and my husband and I had a car to ourselves that drove us to Certaldo, about an hour away from Florence. There we met Luca, part of the family of truffle hunting, wine making, farm owning, cooking school of Cucina Giuseppina. He explained to us all the different types of truffles and brought us to his family farm. We were joined by another couple and we set off to truffle hunt with the expert, Luca’s father, luigi and truffle hunting dog expert, Richollo. It was an AMAZING experience to learn about how Richollo is trained and see him in action. He found six truffles in under an hour while we followed in amazement and learned more about truffle hunting. This was then followed by the best meal we have had in Italy, cooked by Luca’s brother Simoné complemented with products from the family’s farm and their own wine as well. With a beautiful view and a beautiful meal and the sweetest dog, how could one not LOVE this tour and day. It was a true family experience. We will definitely come back. Our tour then took us to the medieval town of San Gimignano where we had world champion gelato and could definitely see why! We were given about an hour of free time to enjoy that and the views of the country side offer. We were then brought back to our starting point. Amazing amazing tour.
