Great tour. Met our driver, Angel at hotel, and started our tour of Montalcino region and wines. He was super knowledgeable and talked the whole time about the region and the wines. We toured three wineries, all with several wines and antipasti. Second winery we had lunch with a view overlooking the vineyard, town and monastery. We also got to taste a selection of olive oils from the region. Beautiful views. By the end we were definitely well informed on Brunello di Montalcino wines. We had a great time.

Itinerary
Pick you up from your accommodation in Florence at 8,30am. Our driver will normally be at your address at 8,15am. We will then drive to the first winery which will take approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes.
At this family-run winery situated at the base of the hilly Montalcino, you will get immersed into the art of wine making. You are going to explore the entire estate, tour the vineyards and wine cellars and understand the production process of Brunello di Montalcino. Their interpretation of Sangiovese grapes has given life to world praised wines. During the wine tasting, you will taste a remarkable pallet of their best wines.
Tenuta Fanti belongs to the Fanti family since 1800. It was transformed from a sharecropping company to a winery, marking an important transition. The property extends across 260 hectares of land: 55 hectares of vineyards, 60 of olive trees and 145 of crops and forest which surround the new wine cellar built in 2004. The soil has a volcanic origin and it is rich in skeleton. The winery converted to organic agriculture, in an attempt to safeguard the territory and improve the quality of the products, while respecting consumers’ health. Here you will have a guided tour of the winery to understand the company’s philosophy, retracing together the various phases of wine production. You will understand the identity of the vineyards during the wine tasting in the panoramic terrace. The wines will be paired with typical Montalcino dishes prepared by the expert hands of their chefs. The experience will be accompanied by a tasting of their extra virgin olive oil.
The Villa i Cipressi Estate was born in the mid-seventies when Hubert Ciacci decided to expand his father’s small beekeeping business. The turning point came in the 90s when Hubert acquired more land fuelled by the desire to produce olive oil and fine wines. Today, Hubert, Patrizia and their sons Dario and Federico , manage the entire estate, each in their own sectors. Hubert’s wealth of experience directs this big little family group which sees Federico coordinating the honey and wine production as oenologist, Dario managing the sales and marketing while Patrizia contributes asa the image consultant. The family’s love of nature and great ecological spirit has led to the choice of using solar power as a basic energy supply and to the desire to convert the estate’s production to the principals of organic agriculture.
Your guide for the day will drop you back to where you were picked up. Guides can drop clients back to other locations with prior notice.

Angel was our guide today and this was a fantastic experience! Each stop was unique and the wines were wonderful.
Our guide Francisco was wonderful. The wineries we did visit were delightful. We learned a great deal about my one complaint is that I was really looking forward to Tenuta di Collosorbo. I was told that in the fine print it says this winery is not available on the weekend. I still can’t find the “fine print” saying that. If the wineries had not been misrepresented I would have given 5 stars.
Where to start. Certainly by saying that it was a memorable day!! We had the desire to discover the Val d'Orcia in its beauty and its secrets. The person who took care of us and made us live this wonderful experience was, Stefano. He arranged everything for us. He guided us and passed on all his knowledge and passion. He accompanied us, told us and made us enter a new world. We visited two beautiful wineries, each with its own history and personality, where we tasted various types of Brunello, Rosso di Montalcino and why not, even a honey tasting, nothing short of exceptional!! He reserved lunch for us in a restaurant of typical Tuscan cuisine, in an unknown place and with a breathtaking view. And finally... discovering Pienza!! I can't find the words to describe it, except to live it! Pure magic! Grazie ❤️
Our experience with Angel touring small family run wineries in Montalcino was spectacular. He was not only knowledgeable and professional, but personable and made the experience an unforgettable one. Highly recommend to those who want the true Tuscan experience and enjoy trying incredible wines!
Our wine tour in Montalcino was an absolutely fantastic experience, thanks to our incredible guide Angel. From start to finish, Angel was simply wonderful – not only very informative but also genuinely kind and engaging. We learned so much about the region and the winemaking process. The tour included three different tastings, each offering a unique insight into the local production, and a delicious lunch. Every aspect was perfectly arranged and thoroughly enjoyed. We would highly, highly recommend this Montalcino wine tour, especially if you have the chance to book with Angel. His guidance truly elevated the experience. We would gladly book another tour with him in a heartbeat! Thank you Angel for a memorable day in Montalcino!
We spent the day with Stefano driving us to 3 vineyards. He picked us up promptly at 830 from our hotel and drove to the first stop. It’s close to a 2 hour drive. Stefano made the time go by by talking us and getting to know us and telling us a little history here and there where it was appropriate. We had an informative tour with the owner of a unique female owned winery. After, we sat down to a tasting of 4-5 wines. Next we went to a larger (but still small) production winery. We had a delicious lunch paired with 6-7 wine tastings and 4 olive oils followed by a tour of their production facilities. Our last stop was a beautiful family owned vineyard where we got to walk among some of the vines on the way to our tasting of 5 wines and their honey. Each winery tasting was of their Rosso and Brunneli di Montelcino wines. Yet each winery had a unique and completely different feel. The Tuscan scenery kept getting better on the way to the next stop. My husband and I took this tour together. We enjoy wine but we are very novice at wine tastings. We very much enjoyed this day being with just our guide, stopping at the 3 unique wineries and getting to see the beautiful Tuscan countryside. The tour is pricey but having Stefano as our private driver, not having to figure out where we wanted to tour, making reservations and worrying about driving ourselves made it all worth it.
We had been on wine tours before but this one was truly amazing. Our tour guide Paola was very knowledgeable on the space and made us feel so welcomed. The lunch that we had was not only one of the tastiest but super scenic! We love looking back and thinking of our day in Brunello and cannot recommend this tour enough!!
Our private tour with Angel was perfect. He took the time to tell us the history of of each area that we were visiting. His knowledge was beyond excellent. He answered all of our questions (when we had them) and was an expert guide. We had the best time with him. We will definitely use him again when we book Italy.
Angel was an amazing host and driver. Very entertaining We enjoyed meeting the families who take pride in making amazing wines and had a great meal as well Highly recommend this tour
It was one on the highlights of our vacation. My wife and I were picked up at our hotel in Florence and visited 3 vineyards. Great wines and delicious lunch served at Fanti vineyard. Unbelievable how beautiful the region is. A special thanks to our driver and tour guide Paola for making the day special.
Our day was just outstanding. Guide Angel arranged a great mix of three wineries for our 35th wedding anniversary all day tour. Smaller, family owned wineries without pressure to buy (but we did, because the wine was superb). We learned so much about the process of winemaking and were lucky enough to see the harvest, sorting and juicing. Fun. Angel, though, is what put the tour over the top. His personality and professional knowledge really made the day special for us. Thank you to our guide and new friend, Angel. We did the private tour. Pricey perhaps, but well worth it.
We had a perfect day that provided several opportunities to try amazing wines from three very different producers, all varying in size annd approach. We so appreciated Angel’s extensive knowledge of and passion for great wine, and we learned a great deal from him. We would recommend this tour to anyone looking for a very small, personal wine tasting experience.
Angel was a wonderful guided. He was super knowledgeable and very friendly. We had a great conversation in the car, and he had scheduled wonderful small wineries to visit. Lunch was spectacular. Tuscany is truly paradise. We loved the Brunellos!
Paola was an incredible tour guide. My wife and I took a private tour to the wineries in Montalcino. Paola knew all the owners of the wineries and we were treated like royalty. First class experience with Paola all the way!!!!!!
My husband and I booked this tour for our honeymoon after an extensive wine tasting tour search. We really wanted to check out the region of Montalcino and loved that Enotropea offered an all day trip that not only included private (comfortable) transport from Florence, but also included visiting 3 different wineries, when most tours we researched only visited 2. Angel was our guide and we had the best time with him. He is so knowledgeable and had so many stories to share. He was very professional and we instantly felt comfortable with him. One of the wineries we were scheduled to visit couldn't take us because of a family emergency - Angel was calm and made some calls to make sure we still had a full day of wine tasting. We visited wineries of varying size and it was really interesting to see the differences. Overall I would absolutely book this tour again and highly recommend Angel as your guide.
Our tour guide Paola was a joy! We thoroughly enjoyed getting into the countryside and into some lovely wines. Our first winery, Franco Pacenti was in a nice country setting and the wines were sublime. After a brief tour and a generous tasting, we both shipped a case of wine back to Texas. Our next stop was Villa Cipressia and it was a gem! Idyllic property and family operated and built. Their wines were impressive and once again, after generous pours, we both shipped cases back home. We were also treated to an amazing lunch cooked by Mama (the actual matriarch). The food was a highlight of our entire trip ... so memorable. Paola took us to the splendid hilltop town of Montalcino. This is the heart of the production of Brunello di Montalcino and it is a destination unto itself with a 670 year old fortress and a labyrinth of ancient streets to meander through ... so we did. Our final stop was Col di Lamo. I want to like this winery. It is owned and operated by a mother/daughter team. But the wine just didn't cut it. Four of us agreed that we couldn't drink any of the 3 wines we were served. That was disappointing but the tasting room itself and the setting were poorly conceived. That said, this day couldn't be spoiled by this one bad apple. I definitely recommend the tour and maybe Trip Advisor will trade this last winery for a different one.
Well worth the money spent for a private tour. Angel our guide and the staff at the 3 vineyards we visited were very knowledgeable and truly pleasant. We had an incredible day with Angel who is also a a sommelier and a walking encyclopedia.
We loved spending time with and getting know Fabian. His knowledge of wine, Italy in general and Florence in particular was amazing. The wineries were spectacular but having Fabian as our guide really made the day something to remember!
Francesco our driver was excellent, providing insight and levity for the entire day. He really took the time to explain the different area’s nuances and it was extremely comfortable with his companionship. My wife Lucia was hesitant but was at ease with him within minutes. Each winery provided an excellent tour and wine tasting session. I highly recommend this tour if you are interested in learning about Tuscany and the Brunello brand.
Our guide was wonderful, kind and very informative. The vehicle was very comfortable and the drive from Florence through Tuscany was beautiful. We were picked up directly from our hotel which was very helpful. We so appreciated visiting the smaller family owned Tuscan wineries where we learned to appreciative the Brunello making process and had lots of tastings. We were able to order a few cases and they were happy to ship the. Back to the US for us. Should receive in 2-3 weeks. We look forward to tasting these beautiful wines again at home!
Pauola was the best tour guide ever. She was super nice, informative and it felt like we were being guided by family. She made the day so memorable for us.
Our driver and guide, Angel (Angelo), was absolutely the best. The wineries, locations and scenery were fantastic. All-in-all a truly winderful day trip out of Florence! We’d do it again in a heartbeat.
We had the opportunity to visit 3 fabulous wineries while tasting their great vintages. Each had it’s own unique charm and wonderful staff.
A fabulous day in Italy's countryside with the best tour guide, Fabio! We visited 3 different wineries with a 3-course lunch that was delicious. Fabio was very knowledgeable about the wine and provided a brief background of each area that we visited. He was a wonderful tour guide. I would recommend this tour to anyone.
First of all we would like to commend Belen for driving respectfully and safely throughout the day so we could relax as she educated us to the countryside and the plans at the three vineyards we visited. It was a real pleasure having her as our guide.
My family and I did this tour in August 2022. It is now February 2023 and to this day we still talk about this tour in Montalcino. Also, I have never written a review in my life, but I was thinking about this tour and I felt it would be an injustice if I didn't post a review! So, here it is: IT WAS AMAZING. Authentic experience away from the usual touristy places and whatnot. Our guide's name was Martina (I still remember the name!) and she was friendly, informative, funny, and overall just perfect for the job. We were picked up on time from the hotel, drove to Montalcino from Florence, and had a little stop for coffee. The first winery was just breathtaking. Felt like a dream. The interior road to the winery is a bit bumpy since it's not paved so at first we were like omg where are we going lol but once we got there we were like wow the ride was beyond worth it. My family is a little picky about places but literally we all just loved this place. We had a tour of the underground cave wine cellar and learned about the process. The wines that were selected were of a good variety. We tasted the brunello, the Rosso and also some grappa! I will say, all three of the places we went to def don't skimp on the tastings like they do in Napa Valley. We tasted some DOC's and DOCG's as well. The second place, again amazing. We had a nice lunch with olive oil tasting along with the wine tasting. We had some dietary limitations, which we had communicated to earlier on and we were accommodated with no complaints. The food was good but the olive oil! SO GOOD! Like wow. Wine, again, really good selection. I recall these being lighter than the ones at the first winery so it was a nice balance. Third place also just as beautiful and hospitable. We did a honey tasting from 20 different types of honey and a wine tasting, toured the cellars and took pictures with the huge barrels and learned more about their methods. The tasting area was really cute and different from the rest and they even had some light munchies like bread, cheese, and fresh tomatoes. The wines at this place were also nicely selected. Good balance of light, dry, rich, etc. Overall the wines at all the places were top noch. We got a crate shipped from each winery! At the end of the day, my family was knocked out from all the wine since by now we'd had like 15 glasses so the ride back was quiet (aside from the snores LOL) but man we had an AMAZING day with this tour. For reference, in August, we were in Europe for a couple weeks and had gone to other places like Vienna, Munich and whatnot, but this tour was undoubtedly the highlight. From the time of pickup to dropoff, we felt taken care of and pampered. I honestly can't think of anything negative! I totally and whole heartedly not only recommend this tour, but STRONGLY ENCOURAGE it because it's honestly an experience that will stay with you for life. I would say the only thing I regret is not staying longer in Montalcino, seems like a really charming little town but I guess I gotta leave something to do next time :)
Belen was an excellent guide! We had a perfect day. We visited 3 Brunello wineries, all very different. We enjoyed a delicious lunch. We went to a very small winery, a medium sized winery and a very large one. We never could have planned a better experience on our own. We do not hesitate to recommend Belen and the company she works for. Harriet and Bruce from San Diego, California
My husband and I booked this trip as part of our honeymoon. I wanted to go with a slightly smaller tour company (where the team would have more ownership, rather than being a big commercial machine) that specialized in wine tours specifically. We could not have been happier with our day with Enotropea. Our guide Fabi was phenomenal - an endless fount of wine knowledge (Level 3 Sommelier) with a magnetic personality and great sense of humor. We learned so much about Tuscany, Brunello wines, and Italian culture, and we had an amazing time doing it. The experience is worth every penny. I cannot say enough positive things about our experience with Enotropea and Fabi!
If you love Brunellos and want a special day exploring some of the best wineries in Montalcino, stop your search here and book now! My husband and I splurged on this private tour as part of our 2 week Italian vacation, and it was by far the best day of our trip. Our guide Martina was so lovely and was with us the whole day to answer our questions and teach us more about wine. We visited 3 fabulous wineries for private tours and one of the tours was actually with the owner of the winery. It was a day we will never forget and we are so thankful to the wineries and Enotropea Tours for the experience!
An amazing day wine tasting with Angel, who taught us so much and was a joy to be around. Delicious food and beautiful scenery. Wine tasting in Tuscany, it doesn’t get better than that!
Incredible day wine tasting with Angel. Learned so much about brunello while eating delicious food in a beautiful setting. Truly a dream.
By far the best day of our 10 day trip. Angel is not only a considerate driver, host and sommelier he is a genuine nice guy. We enjoyed tasting some of the best wines in Tuscany, a lovely lunch and enjoyed learning more about food pairings. The tours were just the right length and we never felt rushed all day. Entropea tours is as professional and as personable. We would definitely recommend it to friends !
Angel meet us at our hotel at three at time and we enjoyed a comfortable ride in his car. Angel is very knowledgeable about the region and the wines. We visited three wineries hand picked by Angel and they were all great. We took our time at each and were never rushed. We also asked about an ancient monastery and Angel took us to it since we had some extra time. I look forward to returning to Tuscany and visiting three more wineries hand picked by Angel.
If you love Brunello you will love this tour. We had a great time while enjoying amazing wine. Staff at the wineries were so friendly, we were so lucky to have Angel guiding our tour, great sommelier who definetely taught us many things about the toscan wines and enhanced the experience. Highly recommended.
Just book it! This day with Alexandra and Niccolo for the wine and cooking class I can only describe as something out of a dream at Castello Tricerchi, a winery rich in family history for four centuries. We knew this was our chance to enjoy all that Montalcino had to offer and this day cooking with Alexandra, learning about Brunello and the centuries long history of Castello Tricerchi elevated our trip beyond belief that included Rome, Florence and the Amalfi Coast. Alexandra was a master in the kitchen but also delightfully personable and an amazing teacher of something that is clearly in her blood. We made, from scratch, three kinds of pasta, three sauces and tiramisu. If that isn't enough, it was all eaten al fresco under the canopy of the most beautiful day ever. She also gives you all the recipes, which are surprisingly not complicated and when you go home you will hear her voice while you're sipping Brunello and rolling out your own pasta for the sauce that's simmering on your stove.
We could not describe our Italy trip without including our Brunello di Montalcino wine tour and our guide Angel Fuentes! We've been on a few wine tours in the U.S. so we thought we knew what to expect but Angel went above and beyond all our expectations. He taught us the proper way to drink wine, how to pair it with food, gave us recommendations, and made the tour that much more enjoyable. He even answered questions and did translations for some of the wineries. We ended up loving him so much we canceled our Chianti wine tour we had with another company and rebooked it with him a few days later! His recommendations were so good that we ended up ordering a bunch of wine to be shipped back home. Angel still texts us to this day to make sure we received all our wine and that it all arrived properly. I cannot recommend this tour and Angel enough to anyone who is in the area and wanting to learn about wine!!
Our trip to Montalcino was all we could have hoped for and more. Our driver and guide for the day, Fabio, was key to much of our enjoyment. He’s a wealth of information, with patience and a great sense of humor and contagious enthusiasm, and a great driver especially for Italy’s back roads. Family-run La Palazzetta was pure joy in its beauty, friendliness, and great wines. The old caves and cellars of Collosorbo amazed us and our very personalized tour and tasting were just right. Highest praise for this tour! It’s worth every dime! (Oops! Euro!)
Bruenello Tasting as part of a long lunch and tour. With the grape harvest underway and three stops along our wine country excursion, Angel composed and conducted an exceptional experience.
We recently had the pleasure of taking a trip to montalcino with with angel as our guide. His extensive knowledge of his product was only surpassed by his infectious personality. Overall one of our greatest vacation days ever! Highly recommended
This was absolutely the best day I had while visiting Italy. Angel booked us at the last moment since we found ourselves with a free day. My husband and I wanted to try some Brunello wines for their exclusivity! The wineries we visited were beautiful and worth the trip even tough it was further away. I have been on many "wine tours" but Angel really made the trip wonderful! His English is so good and it was so easy to converse and really understand Italian culture! Not only about wines (which his knowledge is amazing!) but just many of the general travel questions and pondering you might have comparing and contrasting the world. It felt like we spent the day with a friend! We learned so much and just had a great day. He also selected an amazing restaurant and paired our food perfectly. After our discussions of good food and great cooking I find myself taking more time in my own kitchen and adding lots of wine to my dishes as it truly does make everything better. I just cannot recommend this tour enough....
We loved listening and knowing Angel. This day was memorable thanks to its good mood and the additional information that graced the vineyard visits.
It was a memorable day! Our guide, very friendly! We visited 2 wineries producing Brunello, in both we did wine tasting and in one of them we had a great lunch! I recommend!
I can't describe in words how fantastic this Tour is. First our guide, as the name says, Angel was an Angel. His knowledge of wine exceeded our expectations, to each question were not one, but several answers. The small, family-run wineries where we were welcomed as if we had been known for a long time, and, to say of the wines, spectacular, always served with the right food. An unforgettable experience that you will repeat when you return to Italy. Thank you very much to Angel and Enotropea for creating such wonderful tours.
Excellent guided tour by Angel through an excellent tour of Tuscany. A tour made in detail where we could see an unforgettable Val d’Orcia and taste one of the best wines I have ever tasted. Montepulciano was another ideal place to visit.
Napewno jeszcze wrócimy i skorzystamy z innych ofert Enotropea.
