The local guides in Pisa & Lucca were exceptional. Very good explanation of the history of each location.

Itinerary
Discover two of Italy’s most symbolic towns - Pisa and Lucca! Meet your tour guide at Piazzale Montelungo Bus Terminal. Piazzale Montelungo is located 5-10 minutes walking distance from Santa Maria Novella train station. Find your seat on the comfortable coach bus, sit and relax, and prepare to depart for Pisa! The drive will take about two hours, and your guide will share some useful and interesting information about the city and its landmarks before your arrival. If you have any questions, your expert guide will be there to assist you!
When you arrive, your guide will lead you directly to the ancient gate surrounding the Square of Miracles. When you enter, you will be greeted by a breathtaking panorama - white, marble buildings dominating a square of perfect, green lawns. The intricate architecture is unbelievable, and you will not be able to resist immediately taking photos!
Your group will meet an expert, local guide, who will introduce you to the fascinating history of this square and its monuments. Embark on a captivating walking tour through history, as you learn all about the monuments in a fun and vivid way. Your guide will lead you to all of the buildings in the square - you can admire the exteriors of the large Baptistery and the Monumental Graveyard. Then, follow your guide into the incredible Cathedral to learn more.
Next, follow your guide into the Pisa Cathedral with your included skip-the-line ticket. You will discover the fascinating history of this Cathedral with its unique Romanesque architecture. The interiors of the Cathedral are equally beautiful with ancient frescoes and masterpieces by Nicola Pisano. As the natural light shines into the cathedral, it has a heavenly, unforgettable atmosphere.
There is no better place to end your walking tour of Pisa than in front of the world-famous Leaning Tower! Your guide will explain why it is leaning and what makes this tower so special. Then you will have some time to explore Pisa independently. Alternatively, you can enhance your experience by skipping-the-line to climb the Leaning Tower. Quickly enter and make your way to the top! Then, admire the stunning and diverse views of Pisa from above the rooftops of these ancient buildings. Enjoy the breeze from the top of the Leaning Tower and take some fun photos before heading back down!
After exploring the symbolic town of Pisa, you will head to nearby Lucca. In about thirty minutes, you will arrive in this historical gem of Western Tuscany. Lucca is most famous for its Renaissance walls, which encompass the entire city. Your guide will lead you through the picturesque, medieval streets until you reach the center. A professional walking tour guide will meet your group to lead you throughout the city. You will visit the most famous and fascinating sites of the city. Also known as the “city of 100 churches,” Lucca has a surplus of incredible things to see! Your guide will take you on a journey through the history of the city as you visit the most beautiful sites you can imagine! You will also spend a portion of your tour walking along the city walls, so you can admire views of Lucca from above the rooftops of the building with lovely panoramic views. Your city tour will last for two hours as you discover the historical wonders and picturesque sights.
A must-see in Lucca is Piazza dell’Anfiteatro. Not only is this a stunning and lively square, but it is also one of the most historic parts of the city, filled with stories and legends. This square was first constructed in the 1st century AD and then continued to flourish throughout the centuries. Your guide will explain how it transformed from an amphitheatre, to a vibrant market, to the restaurant-lined square it is today! Any curious questions you may have, your guide will be happy to answer.
After visiting various sites and monuments in Lucca, your guide will finish the tour in front of the city’s iconic Duomo - Cathedral of San Martino. This ancient church has fascinating origins from the Roman era. Your guide will dive into the history with you as you admire the stunning architecture outside the church. Enhance your tour by adding entry to the Cathedral (not included in the tour package).
Enjoy some time to independently explore Lucca after the walking tour finishes. Grab any last minute souvenirs before heading back to Florence. The drive will take about 1 hour, and you will return in the early evening.

Lucca is well worth the visit. Lots of history and wonderful shops. Our local guides were excellent in both Lucca and Pisa.
Antonio was professional and loved his board time and suggestion to take a pic -- too easy to forget. Side guides both great, too. Hard to compare two towns, as we only saw church grounds at Pisa. Lucca's wide walls -- third widest in human history -- a must see !
We had a lovely experience on our tour with Antonio. He was knowledgeable and helpful. We took a guided tour of Pisa with Ricardo and a guided tour of Lucca with Anna. It was informative and interesting. We had ample free time to take photos, eat, shop or use the facilities. We went to a pastry shop in Lucca to try their traditional bread. There was coffee and other pastries available there. It was inexpensive compared to Florence and we could use their facilities which were clean. We had a lovely time.
This is a great day if you are happy to be out all day. We left at 9am and returned back just after 6pm.
Pisa has the leaning tower and other tourist sites in that location. Other than that not much else outside of it. The tower is very interesting and I’m glad I saw it but I probably wouldn’t go back as I’ve been there done that. The restaurant hawking can get annoying but stay your ground and dine where you want and not where you get pulled into. Tour guide was very informative.
Antonio was a great leader and guide. Very friendly and very helpful. It was a good experience.
Antonio was professional kind and clear throughout the day and a pleasure to be with . Free time was quick, but you can always choose free time only. Recommend for a taste of two cities. Our two local guides were both exceptional and loved and knew their resource.
Antonio (tony) was great. So sweet and knowledgeable
Well organized day. Lorenza guided the day with patience. The local tours of Pisa and Luca were very enjoyable.
It was an amazing day. Our guide,Laurenza, and the two local guides were wonderful. We also appreciated our bus driver, Patrick. The Pisa cathedral was beautiful. As a musician, I particularly enjoyed seeing the conservatory and Boccherini statue, and the Puccini house.
Our trip manager, Lorenza, was great at giving us all necessary information and our bus driver, Patrick, provided a safe ride. The tour guides in Pisa and Lucca both shared interesting facts about their location in an entertaining way. We enjoyed our day!
I had the trip with Lorenza and two local guides in Pisa and Luca , all the guides were knowledgeable and interactive , within 9 hrs we were able to enjoy two tuscan cities at an enjoyable pace . I would also like to give special thanks to the driver (Patrick) it was a very smooth ride .
Antonio is wery good gide! I strongly recomend him!💥
The tour was lovely and Antonio kept everything running smoothly. Local tours were fun and knowledgeable. The views of the Italian countryside from the bus made the 70 minutes drive fly by.
Antonio was an excellent guide and gave us some basic advice even though we'd elected to go off by ourselves; Pisa and Lucca were both beautiful and there was far more to do than we could possibly have fit in. We paid €20 for entry to the Palazzo Pfenner and it was worth every penny - beautiful gardens and apartments. A long day but thoroughly recommended.
The success of the tour is dependent on who is the local tour guide. The local Pisa guide was very informative but the local Lucca guide was horrible. He was constantly talking to a guest in Italian and did not provide guidance to other guests while speaking to the person. This happened multiple times and lasted for miner than a few minutes. While continuing his conversation, which could be heard by the entire group, he let Lethe majority of the group lag behind. Other English speaking guests were equally frustrated. When I tried to address the concerns of the English speaking guests, he rudely told me that no one had ever complained before and that “I was the problem”. Afterwards, he began speaking to the group in English and proceeded to admonish another English guest that “he was not listening “ This unfortunately ruined the Lucca tour for me my wife and other English dies king guests who I spoke to.. Note-my comments do not pertain to the Ciao your guide who did not participate in the Lucca tour. Unless there is better quality control over local guides, there is no guarantee that another tour would be subject to same type of rude and unprofessional behavior
Antonio was a great host with great knowldge and multilingual. He was clear with instructions and looked after everyone. The locations were great as was the leaning tower of Pisa. The tour was value for money and relaxing
Our trip with Antonio and Ricardo was fantastic. Pick up and drop off was easy and Antonio was great at communicating. The trips in both Lucca and Pisa were packed with interesting history and information and never did we feel rushed. They were able to answer any questions we had and made the whole experience so enjoyable. Plus you get free time to explore. Definitely get trinkets in Pisa and gelato/sweet pastries in Lucca. We will definitely be booking something similar on our next visit to Italy and would highly recommend people do this trip. Great job guys 😊
Guide Gian Carlo & Driver Carmine were great. Guide for Pisa was also very good. Wsh there was more free time for Lucca. Perhaps a full day in Lucca tour
Great tour. Giancarlo and Ricardo were great guides.
John Marco was wonderful! Very knowledgeable and friendly! Thank you for a wonderful day! We would definitely recommend this tour to Pisa and Lucca.
Antonio (our guide) and Alda (our driver) were amazing! It was a great day! Both cities were really cute and impressive.
Tony was a great guide. Very helpful and knowledgeable
I loved the experience. Antônio is very nice, and a very great person.
We had a very good day visiting Pisa and Lucca. Antonio our guide was amassing and informative. Highly recommend.
Thank you Tony for the advice. We were on the self guided tour and he gave us some great recommendations.
Bus driver Alberto and Gian Marco bus leader were fantastic. Pisa English leader (Simonetta) was great & had some humor. Lucca-English leader (Ileria) just kept walking ahead, not checking if group was near & together for crossing intersections or when turning corners. Never 1-2 min to stop or sit down ! Hot & crowded and could have used a wall or seat or bench to rest & listen to explanation. Lucca tour needs a few places to stop for a few min. every 15-20 min.
Never in a million years did I ever think I would climb Pisa, so surreal and amazing. Lucca was beautiful, I think I wanna live there !
Had a great tour of Pisa and Lucca - really worthwhile. Wasn’t sure of going to Pisa, but after having been there, it was better than expected. The guided parts of the tour are a must. And to our guide, Antonio, thank you - you made the day one to remember.
Schedule was on time even though it rained on our visit to Pisa, everything went smoothly and we had time to explore on our own. Really good if you want to cover both cities in one day!
The tour was well planned and the Antonio managed everything really smoothly. We really enjoyed the tour. The trips excellent for families and friends.
I very much enjoyed the trip. Antonio was super kind, energetic and helpful. I definitely recommend it.
Both tours were very fun and enjoyable
Gian Marco and Giovanni were a great team! I really appreciated Gian Marco for sharing his knowledge and delivering messages in multiple languages.
Tour guide and Pisa guide excellent. Lucca less engaging. Overall a very enjoyable experience
If you go on a hot day, it might feel very long. Lucca was calm compared to Pisa. Tje heat definitely sapped people’s energy by the time we got to Lucca (second stop). The guided tours included in the price are mainly outside. If you want to go into most churches etc these additional fees can add up.
Fantastic Samuel, our guide. Ricardo, our driver, always on time. We would improve Lucca visit. The local guide spoke very fast and showed us a few monuments only. Perhaps we would have enjoyed more the visit with an audio guide and a map highlighting the interest monuments.
Sam was our guide and Ricardo was the driver. Both were professional and very knowledgable. Sam was especially generous with his time in making sure all guests were comfortable and aware of what was happening throughout the tour. Sam enjoys meeting people and making sure our journey to Pisa and Lucca was more than we expected. Both are assets to your company
Excellent and very nice with all the information for the places. Thank you!
A well planned and coordinated day trip to Lucca and Pisa. The walking guides were extremely knowledgeable and made the experience enjoyable and meaningful. Cecelia was a fantastic host who was extremely friendly from the off.
Cecilia and Emiliano were very pleasant, helpful guides and we received a lot of information from them
Great day trip, Lucca is a fantastic place and we will be returning to visit the city specifically. Be careful of pick pockets around Pisa!
Pisa was incredible but felt rushed. We did not have the opportunity to completely climb the tower and also have time for something very quick to eat. Lucca, also lovely, but again felt rushed. There was only 45 or so minutes to explore which was partially taken by a needed stop for water on a very hot day. No time remaining to explore city, climb towers or walk walls. This trip may be best done on your own with a car.
It was a good experience. Antonio was very courteous and attentive. I really like the tour
Wonderful trip to Pisa and Lucca, 2 very different Tuscan towns. Views were amazing, guides were all knowledgeable and helpful. We definitely recommend climbing the leaning tower, but be advised there is a lot of walking.
We really appreciated the tour guide Teresa and our driver Alba
Antonio, our guide, was very careful to ensure that we stayed together and were safe. Our guide in Pisa, Sarah, stopped several places and exchanged ideas about the history of the Field of Miracles. Lucca is pretty but our guide hustled us from one building to the next and described the outside. I would have loved to visit the Music Academy.
We loved the tour! Lucca and Pisa were amazing. Lucca is a smaller town but a great place to visit. Tony was great in guiding us and giving us recommendations. Massimo was a great driver!
Antonio our guide was excellent. I enjoyed the tour to Pisa and Lucca
