Itinerary
Meet your fellow travelers and the tour leader at the starting point in Florence (Piazzale Montelungo) and find a comfortable place on your bus. As you pass through the rolling hills, vineyards, and olive groves of the Chianti region enjoy the anecdotes shared by your tour leader. With great passion and deep knowledge of the territory, your guide will make your trip entertaining and interesting!
Built upon hills, Siena is likely Italy's loveliest medieval city whose historic centre is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Follow your local guide through the winding, narrow cobbled streets and discover the magnificent architecture from the 13th Century.
Our guided tour starts from Piazza del Campo, which is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful squares in Italy thanks to its architecture, the Mangia tower and its unique shell shape. Piazza del Campo is the civic heart of Siena, and the place where the famous Palio horse race takes place twice annually.
Dominating Piazza del Campo, the Mangia Tower is a symbol of Siena's grandeur with its striking 87 metres in height.
Our guided tour ends in front of the impressive Siena Cathedral, a stunningly beautiful building of Gothic Romanesque architecture.
Afterwards, take a break for a 3-course lunch at a delightful, family-run estate. Savor the delicious Tuscan products paired with fine wines produced by the estate itself.
After lunch, we move to San Gimignano, the little Manhattan of the Middle Ages. The numerous medieval towers form an unforgettable skyline and offer an impressive view of the town from the surrounding valley.
Head to Piazza della Cisterna, at the heart of San Gimignano’s historic old town, and taste the world-famous and award-winning gelato from Gelateria Dondoli.
The last stop of your memorable day trip is Pisa with its uniquely beautiful Piazza dei Miracoli, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1987.
Before heading back to Florence, don't forget to take a funny posing photo "holding up" the Leaning Tower of Pisa! The admission fee to the Leaning Tower of Pisa is not included, it costs approximately €20 per person. Children under 8 years old are not allowed to climb the Tower.
The square is dominated by four great religious edifices: the Pisa Cathedral, the Pisa Baptistry, the Campanile, commonly known as the Leaning Tower, and the Camposanto Monumentale
At the end of the day, reunite with your travel companions and return to Florence in the late afternoon.

Daisy and Lorenzo were amazing! Siena was our favorite but the whole day gave us a great taste of Tuscany :)
We had a wonderful day on our tour to Pisa, dinner and wine tasting at a vineyard. Then on to San Gimignano then on to Sienna. Our driver Nicola very good. Our tour guide Diana was very knowledgeable. My wife and I enjoyed the trip very much
As the first time travelling to Italy, the tour provided an informative experience for us. Samuele was our tour guide and was very friendly and helpful as a Tuscan native.
My Grandma and I had a lovely tour seeing the highlights of Tuscany with put fabulous tour guide Sam and driver Nicola. Beautiful towns, delish lunch, fab views! Not too much walking but not too much time on the bus either. A very lovely day out!
Absolutely so amazing. We had a group of 14 with Sam as our guide and despite it being such a long tour in such intense heat, they were both amazing. Sam was so funny and made everything really smooth. He always made sure we were all there and kept the trip from getting boring despite spanning a full 11—almost 12!—hours.
Our tour guide was very nice and did a great job explaining everything we had a very good time.
We had a wonderful time and our guide Cecelia was amazing. A bit hot for all day but absolutely worth it.
To start with Sam was a fantastic guide! The tour itself was of course great - the stops were iconic, we covered a lot of ground and saw all the highlights, but Sam made it better by sharing insights and stories about the area, his own experiences, helping us navigate our free time. Lorenzo was a good driver navigating the heavy traffic tight roads with ease.
Thank You Sam(Guide) and Lorenzo(Driver) for an excellent job done
Our guide Mia was great and knowledgeable about the history of the city. Very fun and educational tour
The trip with Leo was fantastic. Pisa, wine tasting, San Giamgano , and Siena were all outstanding. The driver and Leo provided an amazing day. A lot of information shared and just enough time for an initial visit to these sights. I highly recommend the tour and Leo. Well done Ciao Florence and team.
Lion was fantastic. Made the trip a great experience.
Leon was great and informative. Gave us a great tour and experience!
I do not recommend Ciao Florence Tours. I booked a semi-private tour and received confirmation that it would proceed the following day. Less than 12 hours before the scheduled start, I was informed the tour was cancelled due to "logistical issues. But can offer same tour in large variation." In reality, the tour was cancelled because another couple had not booked, and the company chose not to proceed with the semi-private option. When I asked about the larger group tour, I was told there was a price difference and that I would be refunded the next day (the day of the tour). After explaining I had paid in US dollars, I was asked "So would you like to cancel & be refunded?" I agreed in good faith, relying on the information provided. At 7:34 AM the day of the tour, I requested proof of the refund and was told "yes, of course." By 5:47 PM, with the tour almost concluded, I followed up again. I was then told "so tomorrow we are going to start the refund process but it takes from 6 - 8 working days, you won't receve anything in this time frame please contact us again." So I have ti yet again follow up on the refund. This directly contradicted what I had been told the day before. Had I known this, I would not have proceeded. The payment had already been taken, and I only agreed to the change based on their assurances. If the service could not be delivered, it should never have been offered. Expecting customers to wait 6–8 business days for a refund in these circumstances is unacceptable. I requested the refund be processed immediately. Instead of resolving the issue, my messages were ignored and I was asked to leave feedback. When I explained the urgency of the refund and stated that failure to process it would leave me no choice but to leave a negative review, I received the response "if you plan to stay in Florence more than just a day, book again & get 20% off." I requested the refund again and have since received no response and no refund. The tour itself runs for 11.5 hours, yet food and drinks are not allowed on the bus. Rather than managing waste sensibly, the focus appears to be on maximising profit. This includes cancelling a more expensive semi-private tour, pushing customers into a much larger group of nearly 60 people, and keeping the price difference. You often hear warnings about pickpockets in Florence. Experiences like this are no better. Extremely disappointing.
My sister's and I took a full day tour. Got into the bus at the station in Florence. Our guide was Emma. We were basically the only blacks on the bus with the exception of one other girl. We noted that Emma asked everyone what would like for lunch and passed us straight. At our first stop in Sienna my eldest sister could not walk the desired speed of the group. We spoke to Emma and agreed to wait for the group at the statue by the bank. On returning with the group we advised Emma that we would start walking back to the bus earlier and she continued to chat with the rest of the group. On reaching the fountain just two minutes from where the bus was parked we took a seat and waited for the group. We were not aware that Emma was taking a different route to get to the bus. My sister phone rang and we were told that the was leaving. The bus was literally leaving when the phone rang and the person was speaking to my sister. I ran and saw the bus pulling off. This was an inhumane act by Emma and would never be forgotten by us. She was aware of my sisters condition. They did not care if we had any funds to get back to the hotel etc. We communicated with the company and they sent a taxi and told us we have to pay the driver 100 Euros to get to the next tour destination. Which we did. When we got there they Emma tried to do damage control but it was too late. My family and I would never recommend your tours to anyone
John did an excellent job of explaining what our options were at every location and kept everything running very smoothly. We did not waste time waiting for others and felt relaxed in everything we did.
Excellent tour. Highly recommend it. John, our guide was excellent and very knowledgeable and informative. Throughly enjoyed lunch
A great trip - gorgeous locations - Sienna a real highlight. Val the tour guide and Alex the driver were great. An enjoyable day.
Would have like to spend more time in Pisa. Was wiling to exclude one of the sites to be able to spend more time in Pisa in order to enter the church and climb the bell tower.
I missed the bus and was upgraded at extra cost to a private vehicle. This greatly improved the experience and I feel I would choose future tours with this is mind.
The large group tour does as well as it can given its catering for 75-80 people. We were originally booked on the small group version but sadly it didn’t run. It’s a long day but you get to see a lot. Alex was a fantastic guide & shared information & updates in a really engaging manner, staying high energy all day & answering a myriad of questions with excellent info. If you only have a day you’ll get a great taste of Tuscany on this trip.
Our tour leader was very efficient and very informative. The driver did a great job driving to the three cities and got us there own time. The sites were absolutely beautiful and I enjoyed the history of the area.
The 4 locations visited were well worth all the driving and a long day. The lunch and wine tasting was great and Siena and San Gimignano are must see locations.
We had a wonderful time at Vineyard & Cellar Winery. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, guiding us through a variety of wines. The scenic views and cozy atmosphere of Siena and San Gimigniano made it a perfect day. Highly recommend for wine lovers and casual tasters alike!
Incredible experience with Lucy leading the tour and Alfonso driving. They showed great expertise while visiting Pisa, Siena and San Gimignano. We also enjoyed a wonderful lunch at the winery, with wine tasting included. 100% recommended if you visit Florence
Cristian was a fantastic tour guide! Our small group tour was only 6 people (two groups) and we were able to customize it and add two extra stops. Cristian really made the tour feel more personalized and also added really interesting insight into the area, local culture, and history. Would recommend - especially if you have Cristian as a guide!
Ciao Florence is the GO TO tour organizer for one to experience Italy. The Tuscany day trip with lunch and tour guide was just amazing. The company is very professional, kind and understand the needs of the traveler. We were surprised at the reasonable cost with comfortable travel by coach. They were very responsive right from the time of booking the tour and replied to our queries very promptly. Highly highly recommended !!
The landmarks on our tour to Tuscany region in itself were great. However, the driver was rude and there was no AC on our bus for the duration of our 10 hour tour. When all the passengers complained, the driver insisted that the AC was working but just weak. One of the passengers almost passed out and forgo the rest of the tour while the rest of us suffer in the hot sun walking to each landmark. Then we had to return to a hot suffocating bus. We insisted that we could get a different form of transportation back to Florence, but was denied and insisted they will have it fixed. On our way back to Florence they were able to get the air a little cooler however it was weak and at that point we were so upset and drenched in sweat. I requested a partial refund due to the situation but the company denied the AC problem. They continue to state that the AC was working but weak. Therefore, I wanted to write this review to make sure everyone is aware of their unprofessionalism and lack of respect for the client.
Philipia and Maximillias were phenomal during our tour. Great tips for all our upcoming destinations and informative.
The towns were beautiful with gorgeous churches. The winery was so good! The upside down tower in Siena was amazing. Tiziana did a great job!
Frederika was an excellent guide and made sure everyone's needs were meet. She is an asset to your company. Giovanni was always pleasant and made sure we were at each destination on time.
Federica was a wonderful tour leader. We had some difficulties finding the tour and she was so helpful and kind. She made sure we were able to be part of the tour group, and made sure we had a great experience. It was almost like we didn’t miss anything at all. We would highly recommend!
We had an amazing time! The tour guides were great and very knowledgeable! The views were beautiful and the bus ride was very comfortable.
We had an amazing time on our tour! Our driver Placido (hope i got his name right) was great! We saw beautiful Tuscan views and had great food and wine. Seeing Pisa, San Gimignano and and our guided tour in Sienna was a great way to end the day! Can't recommend enough!
A great tour overall it's definitely a lot of walking to get to the city centers and with so many locations and the heat be prepared you definitely need stamina. My favorite was the Tuscany Wine tasting and lunch a great way to get to know the people on tour with you. The driver and guide were excellent. Each city has so much history and could definitely spend more time in each on a separate trip.
The tour definitely makes for a long day so get plenty of rest! Best part was definitely the lunch and wine tasting for me. It was nice getting to pair their local wines with the food, and the pasta was delicious. You don’t get to much time in each city to free roam about an hour, so if your looking for a quick In and out experience of each town then this is perfect for you! but if you want to free roam and see the sights more try to find a tour that gives more free time! The experience overall was amazing the host (Anna) was very nice, friendly, and knowledgeable 10/10 for her. Overall experience is about 8/10 I definitely enjoyed myself and hope this helps everyone.
We had a great trip with our guide Ana and drive Giovani! Ana was very knowledgeable, witty, and kept the group all together and on schedule. We had a great day tasting wine and enjoying beautiful Tuscany!
Federica and Maximo were lovely! We had such a good time and got to see everything. It’s a long day but it’s balanced well with rest in the van.
Tiziana was an excellent guide and Rafael a great driver. The tour was fun and not rushed at all. A good day spent without having to worry about itinerary. Be prepared for lots of walking
Summary: The tour felt rushed. It may be a good option if you want to catch a glimpse of multiple places in Tuscany. We had very little time in every place. Wine and food in the winery were awesome. Our guide's English was very bad. I was able to only understand basic stuff from her. That is definitely not what I expected from the "Professional English-speaking tour leader" as advertised in the tour description. We were very excited and looking forward to this trip. We wanted the small group. Our tour started in the reverse order, which was totally fine with us. We first stopped to visit the Leaning Tower of Pisa. After spending around 1 hour there we went for the lunch and wine tasting. We went to the Tenuta Torciano winery. The place, food and, of course, wine were delicious! The whole group had a lot of fun there. After wine tasting we went to San Gimignano. Unfortunately we only had around 35-40 minutes there and it was definitely not enough. We were only able to walk to try famous gelato from Gelateria Dondoli and it was the time to go back to the bus. Everyone in our family agreed that was the best city we visited in this tour and it would be great to be able to spend more time there. After San Gimignano we drove to Siena where we had a tour with a local guide. The tour was short, but interesting. After the tour we had a little bit less than one hour of free time there. After Siena we drove back to Florence. We were back around 19:30.
We only had 1 other couple with us, so that made 6 people. Lovely size, so was very personal. Our Driver was amazing. He was so nice and could expertly navigate the roads! We had adequate time in all three towns. The winery lunch was fantastic! Must do excursion!
There were about 20 people in our tour, met with our guide Hillary who was amazing at provided extensive information as we drove to our first stop in Sienna. When in Sienna we had a local guide take us on a brief tour (not a big town with alot to see or do) The bus was very comfortable and the air conditioning was welcome as we were sweltering in the heat! We enjoyed having time on our own to explore San Gimignano The highlight was stopping at the vineyard for a tasting, appetizer and lunch. They were very accommodating in providing a vegan lunch for my daughter. The end of the day we stopped in Pisa and had free time for pictures and some time to browse the area. All in all it was excellent service and guide. Would highly recommend this tour!
The day tour was very well organised and an experience I can highly recommend. Our guide Roberto and our driver Alberto were fantastic, and always on hand.
The places we visited were soectacular but we had to park so far away from them that much of the time we had in Siena, san gimigano and Pisa were taken up walking to and from the bus. You didn’t actually have time to see very much at each town. The guides were good but the whole thing felt very rushed. It was an enjoyable day but just not long enough. We originally booked the smaller minibus tour but this was cancelled the day before and we were offered the ‘ordinary ‘ tour bus. It was full (obviously) but I had to sit upstairs away from the rest of my family who were sat separately downstairs so that wasn’t a good experience either.
This tour was a good day out and great way to see Tuscany. The guide in Sienna was knowledgable. The only negative points; we were expecting a group of up to 12 people but our group was 22 in size. The food served at the vineyard was poor quality - school dinner pasta ragú. The wine was nice but no soft drinks offered other than tap water.
So many lovely moments in this excursion. First- Excellent driver & tour leader! Great transportation & small group of 10. Our last stop, in Pisa, however was at the end of a long day. Our knowledgeable & experienced leader was able to arrange a quick tram lift to the site to save a considerable walk for us. Nathan was an amazing leader full of stories & fun! Such a great day exploring the Tuscany region & meeting some wonderful travelers as well!
Christian made the tour a top 10 for our family of seven people. He explained all the highlights of the tour and made us feel comfortable and made sure we had fun.
Plasibo was an amazing private tour guide! what a great experience! thankyou so much! he was so helpful till the very end.
Daisy, the tour guide, was very kind, and it was a comfortable day.
