We took this tour in 2023 and loved it so much, we scheduled it again in 2026. Irina has great knowledge on the Medici family and gives wonderful incite all that is in the Chapel.

Before coming to Florence, my husband and I researched some of the Medici history in Florence. For this reason we wanted a private tour of the Medici Chapels. The upper level chapel is magnificent and our guide Irina provided an amazing background on the Medici family - she used an iPad to show photos of the family and brought the family and their drama to life. A very special section that Michelangelo worked on and the info Irina provided allowed us to really view the room as Michelangelo wanted us to! A very historical based tour that we really liked.

I am a history teacher and love Medici family history. Irons did a fantastic job of explaining all of the family, and wove it so well into the history of not only Florence, but Tuscany and Italy. She also did a great job of explaining the architecture of the building. I would certainly recommend this tour. It was great. Always choose private guided tours of places like this. It is always worth it.

I did a solo tour with Irina and it was my favourite. She was so generous with her time and knowledge. Her passion for the Medici's and her city shone through. I was captivated and felt like I was touring with a friend. Unlike a lot of tours, the ending is often quite pushy with the guide wanting a good review. Irina did not do this and I really appreciated it. This is a bucket list tour, without a doubt the best experience in Florence.
Irina is a scholar. Her subject matter expertise so warmly conveyed, and easy to follow, covers the late 14th century (Giovanni) and his patronage of Baldassare Cossa who becomes Pope John XXIII thru Cosimo I, II, III, Lorenzo, Guiliano, the wives, mistresses and culminating with Anna Maria Ludovica de Medici (middle of the 18th). Her presentation was extremely well organized and supplemented by photos off her iPad - exceptional. The tour was like an easy to digest graduate-level course of the times, architectural and artistic significance of the chapels, including the source countries and regions of all the marble adorning the chapel. We learned so much and moreover my wife and I were able to discuss it later at dinner in great detail. Highly recommend. An enduring memory, A+

The tour was basically a history lesson of the Medici family and you get to see where they are all buried. there is a huge magnificent chapel that is very beautiful . from the outside, You wouldn’t think it would be so big and beautiful so it is very surprising. then there’s another private chapel area that’s also quite amazing. The tour guide was very friendly & spoke great English. She knew everything about the Medici family and had many amusing stories. If you want to learn a lot about history then I recommend this tour, but if you are in a hurry & want to save money, You could just go in on your own and see the beautiful chapels.

I've taken many tours in Europe over the years and this was one of my two favorite tours of all time---the other one was also on this trip and was also with Irina (her Uffizi Tour). She is incredibly knowledgeable and provides interesting details and information that we would not otherwise have learned from a guide book. She is also very sweet, speaks perfect English and was a delight to be with for a couple of hours.
