If you have gluten issues this is for you. We cooked a 4 course dinner. Learned how to make Gluten-free pasta, among many tips from the Chef. We enjoyed the food together after with some spirits. Bon Appetido! Thanks for the fun day.
Informative and delicious food
Wonderful class that concluded with a wonderful meal! Chef Luca is a great instructor, and both Luca and his assistant Nuana made everyone feel very welcome. Each step of the meal preparation was explained very clearly, and all participated in the process. Highly recommended!
Mama Florence was a wonderful and accommodating meal that was able to accommodate allergies and still create delicious and authentic meal with a fun experience!
Great experience and all 4 of us greatly enjoyed every bit of it!
Chef Giacomo gave our family such a wonderful and memorable experience! One of our teenage daughters has celiac so I was excited to find a cooking class that could provide a safe and gluten free experience for all of us. We learned how to make a traditional Tuscan meal, including GF pasta! For whatever reason we ended up being the only family that night, and we were in one of their other catering locations in the Otralno area, and it was magical to eat outdoors beside their beautiful garden where they grow many of their herbs and vegetables. Chef Giacomo was fun, friendly, and helpful, and I know we will make these recipes again!
Instruction and class was fantastic—highly recommend! Would have liked to be able to choose items prepared in order to cater more to guest taste/preferences.
My husband James and I enjoyed our MaMa Florence Cooking Class with Giacomo and the preceeding guided tour of il Mercato Centrale Firenze (Central Market) with Yenna Braswell. Exceptional local American guide speaking multiple languages. The cooking class was outstanding!! We felt warmly welcomed and truly entertained by Giacomo with his humor and individual attention to each guest in our group. The flourishing gardens and 300 year old Olive tree orchard made for an ideal setting. We rate this 10/5 and hope to return for a new class on our next visit to most inspiring Firenze! Highly recommend for any newbie to chopping and stirring or foodie alike. Spectacular experience.
Our 22-year-old daughter found this online, and since we are a GF family and our daughters love to bake and cook, we were looking for an authentic Tuscan experience while in Florence. THIS WAS IT! The place is so charming. It’s a beautiful old-yet-renovated building nestled into a fun Florence neighborhood. The setting is seriously perfect and makes you feel like you’re in a movie! Chef Stefano Massoti was wonderful, and we were amazed that the meal we made with him ended up being the best meal we’ve had since arriving in Italy a week ago. Luwana, who helped with everything all evening alongside Chef Stefano, was absolutely delightful! She taught us so much about the culture—things you would only learn from talking to a born-and-raised local. The food, ambience, and entire experience were unforgettable. We would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Florence, especially families or groups looking for a truly authentic and memorable Tuscan experience.
We had such a great time! We had fun learning some new cooking techniques with a number of other couples. Everyone participated, and the evening was topped off by eating the delicious meal we created. Looking forward to trying some of the recipes! Buon appetito!
Such a welcoming host. The class was so much fun for my family. Everyone was involved. We learned how to make some amazing fresh dishes. Everything was aromatic, super fresh and absolutely delicious!!!!!
Had a great time at MaMa Florence. Chef Giacomo and Teresa were so lovely blending knowledge, humor and kindness into a unique cooking experience. We made a gorgeous salad, two types of homemade pasta, and panna cotta for dessert paired with Prosecco, a white and red wine. Our senses (and stomaches) were absolutely satiated with the beautiful colors and aromas and we left MaMa Florence inspired to make homemade pasta at home. Highly recommend.
This was the most enjoyable experience. We were a private group of 3 sisters and our hosts were the best.
So happy to find a gluten-free cooking class in Italy! A solid 3 hours of cooking, companionship and fun in a gluten free, safe environment. Chefs were top notch, experienced and knowledgeable about celiac issues. Evening cumulated in a long table meal with our creations and accompanying wine selections. Well worth the money and experience!! Highly recommend!!!
We enjoyed our whole evening. Recipes were easy to follow, chef kept us entertained. Food was delicious! We were served as if we were at a five star restaurant. Overall the entire experience was well worth it.
MaMa Florence was so much fun! the chefs and team are the fun and so engaging, we left with a full stomach and the confidence to recreate a gluten-free Italian meal back home. Grazie mille, Mama Florence!
We had such a fun experience at Mama Florence. With a small group, excellent chef and assistant we were guided through four gluten-free dishes which we all ate together with delicious wine at the end of the session. The pasta making was fun and the whole evening inspirational. The dishes were a crunchy, fresh salad, gluten-free ravioli with spinach and ricotta, chicken cacciatore and pane cotta. The setting is in an airy, beautifully equipped kitchen with pretty outdoor terrace. We were 7 of us from all different countries. I came home and promptly attempted two of the dishes! Would recommend Mama Florence to anyone with any level of cookery experience.
It was a very pleasant experience We had a very nice time not in a professional level but more as a nice cousy experience Cooking with friends 😊😊😊😊
This was an amazing experience! All of the chefs were friendly, kind, patient, funny and personable. Chef Roberto and crew were wonderful with our special needs son - ensuring a welcoming, safe environment and that he had a great time. Learning to make these dishes was fun! They made it easy to follow and understand. The food was delicious and we look forward to using the recipes. Thank you so much :)
Our cooking experience at Mama Florence spoiled us for the rest of our trip. We compared every meal to the pasta Chef Luca helped us create and none could compare. It was educational and delicious. Looking forward to trying these recipes at home. (And this is coming from a non-chef.)
We had a great time at Mama Florence’s cooking class! The building had a great atmosphere and a garden area in a historic part of the city. The staff was welcoming and everything was well organized. They were knowledgeable and also fun to learn from. The class was very hands on, and we were each involved in every step of the process in preparing the dishes. We learned a lot about the techniques for preparing food. The right way to knead, use a knife, etc. We ended the class with a 3 course meal with all the participants. Overall, I’d highly recommend Mama Florence.
it was awesome! The experience was amazing and the staff was great. I appreciate everyone and am so thankful for this wonderful experience.
Absolutely amazing experience. The kitchen and dining space were so beautiful and clean. The chef and assistant were both so friendly, helpful, fun and easy-going. It exceeded all expectations, my kids had a blast and of course the food was delicious!!
MaMa Florence's gluten-free cooking class was one of main highlights of our trip to Italy (and we had a packed itinerary). It was wonderful to not have to worry about cross-contamination for our Celiac family members. Normally our teen isn't the biggest helper in the kitchen, but she's been asking to make the gnocchi with pesto and the meatballs again since we got home. All the food was delicious and we're so glad they shared the recipes with us by email. Highly recommend.
Amazing experience, great small group and the chef and his assistant were lovely, welcoming and extremely hospitable. Loved making the tortellini, can’t wait to make it at home!!
We did this class as a family with our 9 and 11yr old children and had a great time. It was everyone’s favorite part of our time in Florence. The chef and his assistant were a pleasure and the food was delicious and fun to make
Luisa was not only a professional chef but a warm and congenial hostess. She let us in when we were waiting for our tour and discovered we'd arrived six hours late. She invited us in and called the tour company then asked me to speak with them and in the end, we were accommodated for our gluten free cooking tour (an hour later and she recommended the best gelato place down the street to kill time until our rescheduled class!). Anyway there were four of us joining a couple from CA to make gluten free stuffed pasta, chicken cacciatore with delicious potatoes, and panne Cotta for dessert (and she also accommodated my aversion to chicken by making me an omelette!). It was a fun evening and although I was dubious at first to make gluten free pasta from scratch, with Luisa's coaching, we all made lovely pasta! Delicious! We enjoyed wine or beer with our dinner. Definitely a highlight of our trip!!!!
This was one of the best cookery classes I have taken. The tutor was excellent, he explained the techniques we used giving lots of useful tips. The kitchen is well designed and airy. Good range of recipes to make at home. It as great value for money.
What a great experience! Our family was there and we had a wonderful time. The instructors were excellent and made the whole evening fun
Our daughter was diagnosed with Celiac Disease 5 years ago and our trip to Florence was planned around the numerous restaurant options for excellent gluten free, celiac safe food. My wife booked a gluten cooking class at Mama Florence and it was the highlight of the entire trip - the instructions were detailed and educational whilst maintaining an atmosphere of fun and exploration - truly a world class experience
