Hiking Florence Tuscany Hills With Lunch & Wine

I'm always looking for unique ways to experience Italy and loved the idea of a guided hike through the Chianti region with stops at vineyards - much more our style than being driven between vineyards in a van! Our group was 2 people who have spent a significant amount of time in Tuscany and 2 who were visiting for the first time - this was a great experience for all of us! We were fortunate to have perfect weather and our guide Alessandro was a pleasure to spend the day with and shared a lot of great information about the region, wine making and the vineyards we visited. Communication arrange the tour and the morning of when we were running late was seamless - I would not hesitate to do another tour with Our of the Box Florence and highly recommend the Tuscany hiking tour if you're looking for a more active way to visit the vineyards!

Hi Marco ! Thanks so much for the hike last weekend. It was a real highlight for us and it was really special way to discover the city of Florence without having to be in the city in that heat. The red wine with a view and a farm-style lunch to end the day was absolutely s p e c t a c u l a r.

Smashing hike and day out. totally worth every penny. Stefano is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and professional. The hike was very well organised and the places we visited were out of this world: exactly how I imagined rural Tuscany to be, look and taste like. We're a vegan group and Stefano ensured that the wines we tasted and the meals we had (all absolutely exceptional!) were vegan. I cannot praise Out of the Box enough for doing such a wonderful job!

Lorenzo is a superb guide. He has tremendous knowledge of the natural and man made locale. He brought great positive energy to our walk. The meal at the end of the walk featured superb pasta. This trip was the highlight of our Florence stay. We would do it again.

What a beautiful morning walking ancient pathways away from the crowds if Florence! Our guide Lorenzo was a wealth of information! He pointed out flowers and herbs and wild foods growing along our paths as well as sharing the most picturesque view points!

Amazing morning spent in the hills of Tuscany!! Stefano was so knowledgeable about the area and gave a wonderful tour!! Not to mention “the secret bench” with a bottle of Chianti, snacks and a breathtaking view of Florence. Topped off with a farm-table organic lunch. What a treat!! Highly recommend!!!

Get away from the madding crowd and hike the hills around Florence. We enjoyed our guide and his perspectives on history and the natural world. And lunch - lunch was good.

Stefano took 4 of us on a fantastic hike through the Florence hills in April (late posting I know)! It was exhilarating to see Florence from the hills and after touring Italy, a great way to use our bodies for something other than eating and drinking. The only downside is once we were back in Florence, the city felt crowded and loud and I was ready to head back to the hills. Stefano is a great guide who pulled out some surprises along the way. I highly recommend this tour as a way to see Florence from a new viewpoint!

The views from Mount ceceri of course were incredible but the best part of this trip was our interaction with our guide Stefano. He was interesting personable and well prepared and took care of us very well under difficult circumstances.very hot weather.

If you read the other reviews, two things will become apparent immediately: 1) the hikes Stefano offers are unique and memorable 2) Stefano is a great guy I'm happy to say that both of these things are true. Stefano's love for this part of Tuscany is infectious, and it was a real privilege to spend the morning hiking through woods and across fields with him. The scenery, with the views back over Florence, is spetacular. But Stefano may be the real treasure. He's so welcoming, funny and knowledgeable that you feel like you've known him your whole life. What a wonderful and different experience in Florence. Stefano was a great guide, very knowledgeable of all his surroundings, professional and friendly. We would never have known about this part of Florence had we not taken this tour. The landscape and views from above are amazing. Discovering the hills above the city of Florence is a unique experience. Lunch was at a beautiful restaurant in the hills, it was delicious and great atmosphere. What a stupendous experience. We went on the Florence at your Feet experience and it was better than expected! So many beautiful views and history lessons from Stefano to make the walk/hike so interesting. Stefano was a wonderful guide, a great conversationalist who endulged us while we asked many questions, and his choice of wines were perfect. I had the most magical experience of my Italy trip with Stefano! I completely trusted him with the itinerary and it was truly out of the box, off the beaten path and absolutely amazing. He took me on a hike through the nature park which thoroughly exceeded my expectations. He is so knowledgeable and his passion truly shines through. Definitely going to recommend him to my other friends and I’d definitely follow him again on another trip any time! Amazing!

Amazing day! Stefano is a knowledgeable guide and a pleasure to spend the better part of a day with. He was friendly, thoughtful ( he brought gluten-free snacks for us) took us to beautiful views, knew about the local trees, plants and history. We had interesting conversations also along the way. Lunch was delicious and was in a beautiful place in the hills. Make sure he takes you to the “secret bench” (shhhhhh) for the best view of all including fields, a castle, a panoramic view of all of Florence and the mountains beyond. It was a truly magical and secret place. This hike was definitely a highlight of our time in Florence. If you are a nature lover it is a must!

You will love Stephanie and a break from the crowds. Moderate hike, wear sensible shoes and Stefano will take you on a walk along the hillsides in the woods and olive groves. Hiking with Stefano in the Tuscan hills was a magical experience. If you want to see Florence from an unusual perspective and immerse yourself in the most beautiful natural surroundings, then this is the tour for you! Stefano is kind, professional, and so knowledgeable about the area; he entertained me with historical details and stories about interesting places on the trail, not to mention plenty of local snacks and great wine! Yes, you can go hiking independently, but it really makes a difference to go with someone who knows and is passionate about the landscape, and who will show you hidden paths. I had a wonderful morning and would definitely sign up for another hike or tour with Stefano. Highly recommended!

My girlfriend and I had booked an evening hike on a hill around Florence with Stefano. At the top of the hill we had a wonderful panorama with the sunset directly over Florence. Stefano has prepared a picnic with delicacies from Florence and Tuscany. There was also champagne and wine. And Stefano could tell us (almost) everything about Tuscany and Florence. He has given us many good tips for our holiday. We can highly recommend him and would do a tour with him again at any time.
