Meet your guide in front of Santa Croce church and learn interesting facts about the wonderful square and the place where Michelangelo is buried
The next stop on the tour is Piazza della Signoria, the political centre of Florence.
Florence’s most famous and oldest bridge, Ponte Vecchio, is next. Your guide will explain the bridge’s history, and specifically how the Vasari Corridor radically changed the botteghe (shops) that line the bridge. You’ll appreciate the wonderful views of the hills that surround Florence the bridge offers.
Then, it’s on to the magnificent Piazza Duomo, where you’ll see the stunning Cathedral with its unique marble engravings, and, towering above everything is Brunelleschi’s Dome. The dome is a landmark of Renaissance Florence architecture.
The tour ends in front of the church of San Lorenzo, and from here you can explore the surrounding market area on your own.
