We had an excellent tour guide! She was very knowledgeable of the area and history she showed a bunch of cool stuff. My only regret is not doing it out first day in Florence it was not very taxing so I think even if you're not fit you shouldn't have any issues doing the tour. It would be 5 star but traffic and people make biking in the area mildly difficult at times but all and all I would highly recommend.

Fantastic 3 hour bike ride around Florence ! What a great way to explore the city ! We loved every minute - Paulo our guide was brilliant .. so good at his job ! Made everything so interesting and explained his knowledge so well. Thank-you so much !
Ciao Florence arranged a special E-bike tour for us, and this was very special. It's been a dream of ours to follow the route partially that Gino Bartali, Italy's greatest cyclist, followed from Florence to Assisi to deliver false documents to save Jewish families in Italy from being sent to Auschwitz. It was a training run that Gino Bartali did every day hiding documents in the tubes of his bike. Our tour guide, Marco, an exceptional gentleman, retired professional Italian cyclist, whose father was born in the early 1900s and also followed Gino Bartali's career, was our tour guide. We started the trip at the headquarters of the tour agency in downtown Florence and our first stop was at the Gino Bartali Cycling Museum on the outskirts of Florence and on the way to what was a beautiful ride in the hills of Florence outside the city. The Bartali Cycling museum was exceptionally interesting with famous cyclists' bicycles on display, autographed jerseys by some of the world's greatest cyclists and a lot of history that was very enjoyable. We left the Bartali cycling museum and headed out into the hills that surround Florence for a 30 mile ride that was exceptionally beautiful and and a lot of fun. Marco was informative, a great cyclist himself and lead us both on this beautiful ride. The countryside was spectacular. We even cane across men harvesting olives! We stopped at a winery/ olive oil maker for a terrific lunch, and even brought home some freshly made olive oil. We also went to a beautiful iverlook of Florence before heading back. We can't speak enough of the enjoyment and highlight of our entire trip to Italy represented by this ride and would encourage anyone who loves to bike to do something similar.
This is an excellent way to see and learn about the history of Florence.
This is a must on a trip to Florence! Our guide was very knowledgeable on the city and its history. An interesting and engaging lead with impeccable English and guiding skills.
4/5 tour was great informative and fun Draw back the group was too large (14) and the audio was poor. Half the group arrived 20 min late and we had to wait for them in a busy spot next to bins..
My husband and I had a wonderful morning on the Florence tour. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable, fun and helped our group safely navigate the streets. Beforehand I was a little worried about being able to ride on busy streets but it was no problem at all. I was calm and comfortable largely because the tour route is well-planned and the guide was so good. The headphones system is such a brilliant idea to hear the guide as we were riding and when we stopped to learn about each place. We saw tons of sights, had time to take pictures, and even a little stop to take a breather, get a water/bev and walk around at one spot. Don’t miss this whole new angle on your trip! Highly recommend!
So I rated this 4-star. My wife 3-star. The good: The guide was excellent. She was very informative. The earphones worked well and we could hear our guide talking to us. The bikes (DON’T GET ELECTRIC) worked fine. We got the manual bikes and glad we did. If you can’t pedal the short distances (5 minutes) or over a small bridge (minor incline), you should reconsider this tour. The questionable: Most of the trip was going from one close location to another. Each ride was quick. Few minutes. So you’re not riding much. You are riding through heavy tourist locations with lots of people, taxis, and Vespas (scooters). Trying not to hit someone while trying not to get hit can be a little stressful. We had some older folks in our group (70+) and they struggled. All in all we had a good time. As long as you know what you’re getting into, it might be right for you.
Excellent introduction to Florence. Really good guide. Such a benefit having the Audio. Thank you for a great morning
Our guide was Alice. She was fun, informative and helped keep us together which in a tourist heavy area like Florence is a trick. Her history was spot on and I liked how she gave us an overview and the local point of view. Good balance of funny and factual.
Great tour to do one of your first days in Florence as it gives you the “lay of the land” and where everything is that’s pretty much important. Alicia was a wonderful guide spoke good English.
Very disappointing tour. We've done Fat tire biking tours in several cities. This one was extremely slow paced. Averaged 1.4mph according to my watch. Really a 1 hr tour stretched into 3 hours part of that a 30 min break. 4-5 of the stops were a block or two from the starting location. Didn't go anywhere outside of the main city we thought it went to Piazzale Michelangelo and it claimed the incredible view over the city. It does not it goes to a Michelangelo statue nearby. Very disappointed, walking tour would have been much faster and covered the same ground in half the time.
Our guide, Claudia, was absolutely amazing. Very friendly and shared so many interesting facts about Florence.
My husband and I toured with Fat Tires. We had recently used the same tour company in Lisbon and loved it. We wanted to use them again in Florence. Our guide was Alex. I signed up for electric bikes. We could've done without them and just rented regular bikes. You don't go very far and the streets are so crowded, electric bikes are not worth the price. Felt rushed. I was not 100% satisfied with this tour.
Benedetta, our guide, was wonderful! She is so knowledgeable and shared great history and stories of Florence.
Very friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide. Lovely way to spend the morning in such a beautiful city.
Alex was a great tour guide. Kept us all safe on the bikes, very friendly and knowledgeable. She is a native of Florence and had many tips for us to do during our stay.
This is a must do tour ... far more enjoyable than walking tours and covering the entire city in ~3 hours. Our guide Alessandro as a Florentine native was excellent and I would highly recommend her.
Bene was an enthusiastic and knowledgeable tour guide. We loved seeing all the sites and getting in-depth history, tips for restaurants, cafes and gelato places! There were 5 of us in the group and the bikes were easy yo use. We totally recommend this as a great way to see the city, Bene was the best!
Claudia was a terrific guide! Very funny and informative!
Couldn't go on the tour. The guides tried all of the seats that they had, but the E-bikes was too tall for my gf, at 160cm, and another lady at 155cm. Neither could put their feet flat on the ground. I recommend you be at.least 164 5cm due to seat height and extra weight of E-bike.
Manuel was great. Just the right level of information without information overload. We managed to see all of the main sights and even had time to ride up the hill for the amazing view of the entire city. It was more like going on a tour with a well informed friend than a guide. Highly recommend. And if you can, take the E bike option which is needed for going up the hill.
This was my favorite part of our 10 day 3 city experience. The guilde provided us information about the city of Florence, not just the early history. We learned about the 4 neighborhoods and Florence Soccer/football. If they don’t tell you about it ask. It is very unique to Florence.
My wife and I did this on our first day in Florence, and it was such a great way to get a lay of the land, learn about the history, and understand how the city developed over time. Our guide was amazing, and she made the day so enjoyable. I highly recommend this excursion to anyone visiting Florence.
Urban bikers need to be able to do more than just ride a bike. You need to be able to navigate pedestrians and traffic too! Our guide did an excellent job at leading our group throughout the ride.
it's July in Florence and it is really hot. this was an amazing way to view the city. we had a fabulous tour guide named Nadia who is expert on the city and was a local. in addition, her English was perfect. her knowledge of the history of the city was incomparable and we learned so much and had a great time. we took e-bikes which made the trip a breeze, although it wouldn't have been that hard on a regular bike. most important this is a living City and so Nadia took special Care to make sure that we navigated the street safely. we highly recommend this activity
Loved the tour- we had boys 9 and 13, and it was safe for them to ride around the city. The kids said it was the best tour we have done during the entire trip. A nice gelato stop and good recommendations from the guide. Highly recommend it, def a must do
It is out in traffic but manageable. Bouncy rides but no real hills. The info is interesting if heavily slanted as you might expect. They take their job seriously, taking care of you and answering questions.
Fantastic tour of Florence. Great bikes, no need for e-bike upgrade. The tour was informative, fun, entertaining and even included a gelato stop! Our guide, Giovanni, was fantastic and did a great job keeping us safe and giving us the history. We traveled with our 2 kids (ages 10 and 12) who have experience riding bikes in US streets with cars, but this was next level. We still felt safe and had a great experience. It was a great experience, only about 4 miles of riding, but lots of great information and fun a long the way. Thanks Giovanni!
The equipment was well maintained and very functional. Having headphones to hear the guide explaining things is always helpful. July is a very busy month in Florence. Writing through the streets and popular tourist areas was quite challenging.. We did the 9:30 AM tour, many people were already on the streets. I would recommend doing an early morning tour to avoid the crowds
Great time, great tour of the highlights of Florence. Our guide was Alex/Allessandra. The radio headset each person wore made it very easy to hear her and to feel part of the group. I’ve done many group tours and this was the first where I could say that- usually the people in the back of the group can’t quite hear. She looked out for everyone’s safety and gave us some insight into the differences between osterias and cafes and restaurants. We heard some fun facts about the very, very violent game of Florentine Soccer. Very worth doing this tour- it was a nice introduction to this beautiful city.
Great morning spent biking through the various areas of Florence. Good way to get an overall orientation with plenty of history and information along the way and then decide what you would like to explore further on your own. Had a great guide and a great activity.
Our guide Alice was passionate and knowledgeable! It was wonderful to see the city through her eyes and tour on bikes! I highly recommend!
We had a wonderful time as a family. The guide was super knowledgeable and friendly. She made my kids feel welcome and made some wonderful recommendations for food, shopping, etc.
A great way to see many of the sights in Florence in a single morning! Our guide Jojo was wonderful!
This was a great way to spend a morning in Florence. The ride was easy and you get to see and hear about the main attractions of the city. Veronica, our guide, was amazing.
Great tour, had a great guide and kept our group engaged
We had Claudia as our tour guide and she was fantastic. Friendly, informative and knowledgeable. We had such a good time & it was great to get some recommendations from her about the local food scene. Loved it!
Really relaxing. Constantly looked out for our safety. Our guide was clearly passionate about his city. Highly recommend.
Great way to see Florence and learn of the history and highlights. Nicely paced tour, time to explore a bit we did not have e-bikes as unnecessary in Florence. Big thumbs up to Veronica for a fun tour, thank youFun paced tour
The route was thoughtfully planned, taking us through both the famous landmarks and some hidden gems I never would have discovered on my own. Riding through the historic streets gave me a unique perspective of the city, and it was such a fun way to explore without feeling rushed. Our guide was fantastic—knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly passionate about Florence. He shared interesting stories and historical insights that really brought the city to life, all while making sure everyone in the group felt comfortable and safe. The bikes were in great condition, and the pace was perfect for all skill levels. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or returning to Florence, I highly recommend this tour. It’s an unforgettable way to experience the beauty, culture, and charm of the city!
Francesca was fantastic! She was warm and friendly and full of information. We felt safe in her care and really enjoyed our tour.
What an amazing experience! We went on a tour with our two teenage boys. Alice did an amazing job! Part history, part adventure, and loads of laughs! Thanks for a great time!!!
Gio was an amazing guide. So knowledgeable and informative, it was a wonderful overview of the sites of Florence with historical context. Highly recommend!
Excellent tour and tour guide. There were only 2 of us that day so we had a private tour and it was terrific! Great history of the city and recommendations for other places to go afterwards.
We really enjoyed our e-bike tour. Our guide, Manuel, was very informative with lots of interesting information about different aspects of Florence. He was also very attentive to us ad we navigated the busy streets. I would highly recommend this tour as it’s a great way of seeing the city and parts of it that most tourists miss.
This is the way to get a great overview of the city by a local! We had a fantastic experience. The e-bikes were easy to use, even for our 78 year old father.
Yes! Viola was wonderful!! She went above and beyond in every way and was very very knowledgeable about everything we saw every spot . We were lucky enough to have a private tour since we were the only two English speaking people there on that rainy morning!
Provided a look at the 4 neighborhoods of Florence plus the main sights! Our tour guide Alessandra was born and raised in Florence so had a lot of insights into the city - places to eat, museums to see etc. plus she was very funny!
This is not a fast cycling ride, but rather, a leisurely ride. However, there are often pedestrians, cars and motorcycles to dodge while riding (usually slowly) along bumpy streets as you take in sights. Some biking confidence is needed. Our guide, Manuel, was very pleasant and informative and led our group of 11 riders easily. We had headsets that allowed us to hear his comments as we rode, which was great. The tour took us to various central squares and key sights (such as Duomo, Ponte Vecchio) and provided a nice introduction to the old city. We periodically stopped for our guide’s explanation of points of interest and associated history, which we found interesting. Our day was sunny and beautiful and starting with the first tour of the day made vehicle/people congestion less than would occur later in the day.
