Manuel was fantastic! We took this tour the afternoon of our arrival in Florence. He took us all around the city and shared with us the history of the city, the Medici family, and the great artists that spurred the Renaissance. He shared so many small nuggets with us that we would not have noticed (the small altars located all over the city). He also gave us great shopping and dining recommendations as we were parting. If you want an appreciation for this city and its history, do yourself a favor and take this tour. So many people go and just take the photos, but don't dive deep. You are in a city with a rich history. Learn about the people who walked the city hundreds of years ago.

This tour included an ear piece for each of us so at any given time we could hear our guide above the city’s noise. That was a game changer since we were walking and looking and listening. Our guide knew the city like one knows his own family. Very knowledgeable with dates and names and details! In fact, just hours after the tour our discussion led to a symbol in the restaurant we had just learned from our guide. Be sure to start your tour early if scheduling in the summer.

Manuel gave us a Fantastic tour. Very knowledgeable on the history, art, and food in Florence. Great English communication for being an Italian. He was very considerate that we were comfortable during the whole tour. Created a perfect atmosphere for a tourist. This was a private tour which helps our family much more than a large crowd.

I REALLY liked the way our guide did the tour in chronological order. The story makes more sense that way. I liked seeing the link between politics and tax policy and how it affected building design and ground floor footage. I liked the alley and back street pearls like the wine windows, architectural details, and small sacred spots. The tour leader’s English was hard to understand.

We were greeted by Manuel, who indulged us with so mary stories of Florence from Roman times through to the Medici. We were told how to spot signs that are hidden to most visitors. Only now do we see these hidden gems. What a lovely experience.

Explore Florence with a local. Discover hidden jewels that you would have never found on your own or on a large group tour. Yet all the major sites are covered but the historical commentaries at each are invaluable. Get great advice on what is of importance to see and what may not be worth your time. There is so much to see and discover in Florence. This may very well be the best way to do it.

Booking a half day walking tour was a really good idea for us to get a perspective of the depth of the history of Florence. Our guide, Sarah, was able to provide not just the history of the sights we visited but she did a great job in giving an overview and putting in context the various art work and the importance of the artists and leaders of Florence. A very detailed history of the city of Florence and it’s place in the Renaissance. Access to all the important buildings and places, but no internal access.

Our guide Manuel was amazing: we will never look at a city the same way. He provided so much detail of the history of Florence, the buildings, how the structure of the city evolved over many centuries and people & families who shaped the city. He is very energetic and enthusiastic; a superstar Guide who is living and breathing Florence. Manual showed us many insider places off the beaten path and accommodated our packed schedule. We will come back and highly recommend this tour.

We enjoyed our tour. This was our first full day in Florence. We got a great overview of the city. We were introduced to many of the places of interest. We learned so much history about Florence, the buildings, culture and the people. We were provided many recommendations for the rest of our time in Florence. Our guide helped us to make reservations for other tours and museums.

This was one of the best walking tours I have ever been on. Our guide, Manuel, knew all about the sites you expected to see in Florence, but importantly, he knew about the small details on almost every street that made this tour truly special. Our tour was not just informative, but Manuel also made it fun. We were lucky to see Florence with Manuel, and I highly recommend him and his tour company.

Manuel was very knowledgeable and very informative about the history of Florence. He asked questions and we asked questions which he answered. He told us the story of Florence which was very engaging.

Manuel was amazing. He is personable but with lots and lots of knowledge . He took us to places we would not have found by ourselves and told us the history in a really interesting way that really helps when you then visit the museums. As an added advantage he recommended places for gelato , food and wine which we have since used and were also delicious.

We took the tour at the beginning of our time in the city and this worked perfectly as when you visit the museums you then understand the names etc that are being explained to you.

The tour was great. We did not go in many places but saw all the sights to visit later and got a great lesson on the history of Florence and the Renaissance.

I spent a long week-end in Florence with my family and I asked manuel to accompany us on a visit to the city. He was fantastic.. in Italy people say "HE KNOWS EVERYTHING"! Hystory, legends, monuments, food&wine places, etymology of Italian words: NO SECRETS for him, I suggest a visit with him, because he's very amazing e the time flies when you are with him. Manuel is very good we did a two-hour tour but I would have listened to him for ten more. It is not the usual guide who tells you the rankings things, original and never boring.
