Both wineries we went to were great, knowledgeable, and friendly. The time at each felt rushed. 20-30 minutes of free time to take photos/gift shop/ order an additional glass of wine. Overall, good wine and snacks; felt rushed, and the tour guide did not add much to the tour.

Enjoy a guided tasting of distinctive local wines, each offering a unique expression of the territory, accompanied by selected regional products.
Continue your journey toward the Sienese side of Chianti, in the area of Monteriggioni, where a second winery welcomes you for another authentic tasting experience. Best experience ever with the guides tour Stela and Massimo. Even with a cloud and rainy day, it was lovely and remarkable.
We had such a wonderful time! Thw guide Maria Luisa was very nice and gave us some backgeound info about the landmarks in Florence on our way out of the city and along the way to the vineyards. The wine experience was super fun, and the guides in every vineyard were also extremely nice and dis an amazing job!
A great experience, I especially liked the truffle oil and the grappa. The second winery had an artichoke for vegans instead of cheese and salami, and it was a really good artichoke. We were not properly updated on the new meeting time however which was 30 minutes earlier than it showed on the ticket. We had to run to make it on time.
Tour guide was grand! Can't spell her name tho!! The trip was great! Ferdinand was good driver as well. Marialuosa was her name!🥰
Very good tour. Maria Luiza was so charismatic
A great wine tour around two wonderful wineries. The tour took around 5 1/2 hours, with a central pick up stop near the main station (look for a guide in a blue coat). The journey to the first winery was around 1 hour 20 minutes, with great views of the Tuscany landscape and the tour guide providing detail on some of the sights we passed. The Riseccoli winery, was a great introduction to the region and the Chianti wine. Great views of the landscape and two cute cats and a happy dog to help guide you around. We sampled 3 wines there with a small plate of cheese, salami and bread to accompany them. The wines here were very nice and the more affordable of the two wineries on the tour, with prices starting around €8. We then journeyed to Poggio Amorelli, which took around 30 minutes. We had a short walk up a hill through the vineyard to reach the tasting where we received an overview of their process in the fermentation room. We sampled three wines, including a sparkling wine, along with their olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The produce here was excellent and of high quality. This winery was more expensive than the first, with prices starting around €38 for wine and olive oil. Overall this was a great experience, with great wine and views of the Tuscan landscape.
This experience was extremely enjoyable and perfectly paced. The tour guide, Richardo, was extremely knowledgeable. Both wineries we were taken to were excellent and unique in their own ways. We walked away with some bottles to take home and having learnt many new things. My one criticism is about the lack of clarity around the accessibility of the second winery especially. It should be made clearer on the listing that guests will be walking uphill and then back down hill in the dark along gravel roads with pot holes and other uneven ground. One lady in our group actually fell on her way back to the bus because of this and she ended up getting directly into a taxi to the hospital for stitches! This is not safe for anyone who is elderly or has any sort of mobility issues. And I would like to see that information on the listing before people book.
From the bus ride, to both locations and especially the wine, everything was very friendly and tasty.
Great tour with a great value! The tour guide was fun, funny, and informative.
My experience was great. The tour guide had an amazing personality and made the tour even more exciting. The time was perfect. I was worried if it would be to long but everything was so perfect
SCAM!! DO NOT GO!!! The 2nd winery POGGIO Ai LAGHI is a scam tourist trap. The slick sales guy pulled me and my wife out of the group for a “special tasting” and tried selling us $80 bottles of wine. When i told him that’s outrageous he offer 2 for the price of one on 3 bottles $240 total and an extra bottle of Spumante because it was our honey money. Two week later when i can home (USA) i only got 3 bottles. I reached out and told them there had been a mistake and they sent me a receipt the slime ball sales guy filled out for 3 bottles for $240. HE NEVER CHANGED THE ORDER. He instead gladly took our card and sent us away. Neither of these are the vineyards you picture in your head. More like farms that sell wine. Couldn’t be more disappointed.
I had an amazing time! So much fun, would definitely recommend!
Very informative, it was raining, so we could not walk the vineyards. But the overall experience was fantastic!
Stella and Marco were great!! Couldn’t have been better. Stella helped my wife get a better seat up front after she got very
I love sitting. I love wine. What more could you ask for
Extremely nice guides and people
It’s was a great experience would probably do it at a different time of year next time as it got dark quickly
It was great to get out of urban Florence for a bus trip and tour into the rural Tuscany region. The two wineries we visited were very different from each other, adding more depth to the experience. Francesco (our guide at the second winery) was extremely personable and made that stop very memorable. I would recommend this tour to anyone interested in this type of 12-person bus tour with educational dialogues about Chianti wines !! About the only thing missing was to see the bottling line at either of the wineries….
Really lovely tour and wine tasting. Small group which meant it felt personal and not overly ‘touristy’. Two really nice small wineries with charismatic owners and great wine selections. Would definitely recommend.
Maria Luisa, Simone and Tommaso were all awesome. I would not be exaggerating if I say this was the best tour we did in our life time. Thank you Maria Luisa, Simone and Tommaso.
Maria Louisa was an amazing tour guide! She provided fascinating stories about the history of the region.
Wonderful experience. Right size, about 15 of us. Wineries were beautiful and wine was enjoyable. Salute!
Amazing tour not only of the vineyards but of Florence as the guide gave great insight throughout the tour and was super friendly. Would highly recommend!
The bus drive was comfortable and both wineries were wonderful it was so lovely our last day in Florence.
Wonderful experience, everyone was so kind. It was also a good length so not too tiring and you can still do other things in your day.
Maria Luisa was an amazing tour guide! She explained so much about the countryside and the Chianti. Paulo did an incredible navigating the roads…you couldn’t pay me to drive in Italy. Both wineries we stopped at were gorgeous and had great wine. The VIEWS were the best part..everything I was hoping for. Highly recommend. Grazie Maria Luisa for a fantastic afternoon!
I highly recommended this tour to any travelers or who loves a sip of wine in the afternoon. The two places we visited are very different and the wine selection are amazing. The view along the way is insane.
Vermentino is love, nice trip to try chanty vines.
great time! wine was delicious! guide was friendly.
The duration of free time was a bit short but other than that we were very satisfied. Thank you
Had a lovely trip to the wineries of Tuscany. Stella was a great guide
Stella was in incredible tour guide! We loved both wineries and would recommend to anyone wanting an easy day trip to Tuscany.
Our half-day Chianti wine-tasting tour from Florence was absolutely fantastic! Visiting two wineries was a wonderful way to experience the beautiful Tuscan countryside, learn about the winemaking process, and sample some delicious local wines. The scenery was breathtaking, the wineries were charming, and the tastings were a highlight of our trip. Everything was well organized, making the experience both relaxing and enjoyable. We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Florence who wants to experience the beauty, flavors, and charm of Tuscany!
We had a wonderful afternoon with our guide Keiko. We rated very good wines and the scenery was breathtaking.
I’ve watched far too many Hollywood films romanticising the Tuscan countryside, with its rolling hills, vineyards and picturesque little estates. So naturally, when I started planning my first trip to Italy, there was absolutely no way I was leaving Tuscany off my itinerary! After spending an embarrassing amount of time comparing tour operators and reading reviews, I eventually settled on CAF Tour & Travel. It was slightly more expensive than another option I was considering, but the consistently positive reviews convinced me to give it a go. And I’m glad I did! First, the organisation and transportation. The meeting point at Piazzale Montelungo was easy to find, the representatives were clearly identifiable, and everything ran on schedule. Our guide was lovely, friendly, knowledgeable and attentive throughout the journey. I particularly appreciated that she shared interesting facts about the Chianti region without talking nonstop. She gave us time to relax and enjoy the scenery, then provided more commentary as we approached each winery. The drive through the Tuscan countryside was beautiful, with winding roads, rolling hills and vineyards scattered across the landscape. Exactly the kind of scenery I’d been hoping to see! However, I do have one genuine complaint: the air conditioning on our coach wasn’t working properly. It was uncomfortably warm inside, to the point that the air outside at our first winery actually felt cooler! Thankfully, I had my trusty portable hand fan with me, which practically saved the day. This is definitely something CAF should address, particularly since a considerable portion of the tour involves travelling by coach. Now, onto the wineries! Our first stop was Tenuta Riseccoli, a lovely, traditional, family-owned estate nestled in the Tuscan hills. It had a charming, rustic atmosphere, and we were given a tour of the property and its winemaking facilities. We tasted approximately three wines, accompanied by small servings of bread, cheese and cured meats. The wines were lovely, and the hosts were knowledgeable and welcoming. The tasting portions were on the smaller side, particularly the food, so here’s my advice: please have a proper lunch before joining this tour! You’re there to taste wine, not to have a full meal. Our second stop was Poggio Amorelli, and OH MY GOODNESS. Now THIS was the Tuscany I’d been dreaming about! The vineyard was absolutely gorgeous, with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. It genuinely felt like stepping into one of those romantic Italian films. What made this stop even better was our winery host. He was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging and genuinely funny! He explained the wines and products in a way that was informative without feeling like a lecture or a sales presentation. The tastings were lovely, the portions were a little more generous, and the entire experience felt relaxed and interactive. Both wineries allowed us to explore, take photographs and purchase products, with absolutely no pressure to buy anything. And speaking of purchases, I didn’t end up buying wine, but I did buy olive oils and balsamic vinegar from the wineries. Let me tell you, now that I’m back home using them for my bruschetta, pasta and salads, my biggest regret is buying the SMALL bottles. Seriously. What was I thinking?! As a solo traveller, I also really enjoyed the atmosphere. Our group was a lovely mix of couples, families and fellow travellers. I had some wonderful conversations with a Mexican family and a few American travellers, so I never felt awkward being there on my own. The entire excursion was professionally organised, and both the guide and winery hosts were friendly and approachable. Everything was included as advertised, from transportation and winery visits to the wine tastings and food pairings. There were no unexpected charges or uncomfortable sales pitches. My only other consideration? The time. While the itinerary was well-organised, I did feel that we were working against the clock, particularly towards the end of the afternoon. The wineries are quite a distance from Florence, and with two estates to visit, there wasn’t a tremendous amount of time to simply wander around, take photographs or appreciate the scenery. We had enough time to enjoy the tastings, but I personally would have loved to spend longer at Poggio Amorelli, especially with the beautiful afternoon light and sunset. This isn’t necessarily a criticism of CAF because, after all, I booked a half-day tour and that’s exactly what they delivered. It’s simply something I’d recommend considering when choosing between a half-day and full-day experience. Would I recommend this tour? Absolutely! If you’re visiting Florence and want a taste of the Tuscan countryside without dedicating an entire day to it, this is a fantastic option. You don’t need to be a wine connoisseur either. I enjoy wine, but I’m certainly no expert, and I still found the experience fascinating and enjoyable. It’s also suitable for solo travellers, couples and groups of friends. The atmosphere was welcoming, the wineries were lovely, and the overall experience was excellent value for money. However, if you’re someone who wants to spend hours exploring vineyards, taking photographs and soaking up the Tuscan countryside, I’d strongly recommend booking a full-day experience instead. In fact, if I ever return to Tuscany, I think I’d dedicate at least a couple of days to exploring the region properly. A half-day excursion was lovely, but it definitely left me wanting more! Overall, a wonderful experience with CAF Tour & Travel. Aside from the uncomfortable coach temperature, everything was thoughtfully organised, the staff were excellent, and the wineries, particularly Poggio Amorelli, were absolutely worth visiting. Grazie mille to the CAF team and the wonderful winery hosts for such a memorable afternoon in Tuscany!
We had a great tour with Maria Louisa. She is very knowledgeable of the region and history. The wineries were fantastic.
Maria Louisa was so friendly and knowledgeable and really cared about us all. Amazing experience 😀
This was so fun. We had a great time. Maria Louisa was our guide and she was great. She was funny, nice, and very knowledgeable. The bus was full and that made it more fun. If that's not your vibe, don't book this. But it was a great way to spend the afternoon. Would do it again.
Great guide Maria Louisa. Intresting wineyards
Really good trip, the guide Maria Louisa was superb!
