This is the first bad experience with Viator. Our reservation was for 8:15am when there weren’t many tourists out yet and we arrived 15 minutes early but no one was at the designated meeting point or contacted us about any changes. When we reached out via the app for a refund they said that our entrance time was flexible and could be used later in day. Great but didn’t work for us since we had other activities planned that day.

Itinerary
Giotto’s Bell Tower (Campanile di Giotto) is one of Florence’s most iconic landmarks and a true masterpiece of Gothic art. Rising elegantly beside the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, this stunning tower was designed by the famous artist Giotto di Bondone in the 14th century. Clad in dazzling panels of white, green, and pink marble, the bell tower perfectly reflects the rich artistic spirit of Florence. Its intricate decorative details, including sculpted reliefs and statues, tell stories from the Bible and celebrate human creativity and craftsmanship. Every level of the tower reveals new artistic treasures, making it as much a museum as an architectural wonder. Standing about 85 meters tall, the Campanile offers visitors an unforgettable experience. Climbing its 414 steps rewards you with breathtaking panoramic views over Florence’s historic center—the red rooftops, the majestic Duomo, and the rolling Tuscan hills beyond.
The Florence Cathedral (Duomo di Firenze) is one of the most breathtaking landmarks in Italy and a symbol of the city’s artistic and cultural heritage. Located in the heart of Florence, this magnificent cathedral, officially known as Santa Maria del Fiore, dominates the skyline with its grandeur and elegance. Its exterior is a stunning masterpiece of Italian Gothic architecture, covered in intricate panels of white, green, and pink marble that shine beautifully under the Tuscan sun. The richly decorated façade captivates visitors with its detailed carvings, statues, and ornamental patterns, reflecting centuries of artistic excellence and devotion. Inside, the cathedral offers an atmosphere of awe-inspiring simplicity and vastness. The spacious interior contrasts with the elaborate exterior, allowing visitors to fully appreciate the scale and harmony of its design. Magnificent frescoes, historic artworks, and graceful arches create a serene and inspiring environment.

Booked a Gioto ticket which covered the Cathedral, museum, baptitry, crypt, bell tower (timed entry). Not cover the dome itself. Book that in advance. Ticket covers you for 3 to 5 days entry but only once. The bell tower access IS the timed day and time part. Great views from top of tower, but be aware it is steep , narrow, not much air, one way up and down so can be cosy with others passing. There are levels in the tower to stop and take a breather, I think at least 3 areas. No toilet facilities so go before you climb. Take a water and snack. Takes about 45 mins to go to the top and back but with rest stops and enjoying the view , allow double that to make it enjoyable and not he'll. Small children will find it hard going as will those with mobility issues. Saw many ages doing the tower from 20s to 80s. The Duomo interior is a bit of an anti climax, as the outside is stunning. Another church close by looks boring on outside, but totally BREATHTAKING inside. Worth the money even so. Currently there are renovations going on for possibly next 2 years so there is some scaffolding, so something for the builders to admire.
I was issued tickets by Viator with instructions on what to do. We followed those instructions to the letter but were denied entry to when we arrived by the Duomo officials. They told us we did not have correct tickets and because they were issued by a third party we needed to talk to them. When we contacted Viator they kept repeating that the tickets were sent and they should work. There was no one in person who could assist or discuss it with local officials to work out the problem. I asked for a refund because we never got entry to any of the activities we paid for, they declined. Don’t use this company. If there is a problem there is no one to help you and If the local officials decide they won’t accept the ticket, Viator won’t do anything. Better off buying your ticket direct, not from a third party.
It was great to climb to the top!! View was nice and you could see the Duomo right next to it. Worth it!
Very disappointing. At the time of booking we were not advised the tower and whole site would be surrounded by scaffolding, which ruined the experience.
The Bell Tower is a beautiful place to visit. The views from the top are amazing, and the tower has a lot of history. It's well worth a visit if you're in the area. Highly recommend.
So glad we found this option to skip-the-line... friends pre-warned me that if you don't book in advance, you can't access the tower; so this was a life saver. Also, the self-guided tour app was pretty cool as well.
Fantastic experience! The package is complete and allows you to visit the Duomo, the Baptistery, the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo, Santa Reparata, and to climb Giotto's Campanile with a spectacular view of Florence. The audio guide is practical and very useful. A special thanks to the operator, truly top-notch, and to an impeccable organization that made everything simple and perfect. Absolutely recommended!
Wonderful experience! If you want a complete tour, this is what you are looking for! Being able to skip the line by booking in advance was a lifesaver to avoid the risk of not getting into the tower!
experience to be repeated, the view was breathtaking and the audio guide was also super top. I highly recommend it!
Beautiful tour, I recommend it to everyone who wants to have a complete experience!
Top experience! Recommended!!
I took the tour of the Campanile and the Duomo of Florence and it was a truly beautiful experience. The view from the top is simply spectacular and makes every step worth it. I recommend this tour to anyone visiting Florence: an unforgettable experience!
Lots of stairs but a wonderful view. Priority ticket was super useful, there was a long line. Recommended!
Buying the ticket for Giotto's Bell Tower, the Cathedral, and the Opera del Duomo Museum was an excellent choice. The entire complex is very well organized and allows you to immerse yourself in the history and art of Florence. The climb up the Bell Tower offers a spectacular view of the city and the dome, while the Museum is full of magnificent works and is set up in a clear and engaging way. Every room tells a piece of the history of this extraordinary artistic heritage. I recommend dedicating a few hours to the visit to appreciate every detail without rushing. It is an experience that is absolutely worth the price of the ticket and leaves an unforgettable memory.
I absolutely recommend it for the stunning view over the rooftops of Florence and the dome! Lots of stairs, but it's worth it. The ticket with priority entry is top-notch.
Beautiful, exceptional view of Florence, many stairs, to be recommended as something not to be missed. The cathedral and the baptistery are unique.
The skip-the-line ticket is very convenient, especially for the Bell Tower. For the cathedral and the baptistery, however, we did not find any line. The view of the bell tower is incredible! It is worth it.
The view is incredible and the cathedral is also very interesting to see. However, I recommend evaluating it carefully in the heat because there are 400 steps.
