We rented bikes for the day. Dejan got us outfitted and helped us with our course. The bikes were high quality and in excellent condition. We also appreciated Tuscany Cyle working with our schedule. We will definitely rent again if we are back in Florence.
We enjoyed this experience! It was a 5 star experience but the few notes below suggest more of 4-4.5 star experience. The people were great. The views were great. The details of the trip when booking it were a bit vague but went with the booking anyway. I got the impression that it was all day. But was from 10-3pm there and back including lunch, wine, small winery tour and bike ride. There was not any castle tour as the description suggested. The bike ride was short (said it was 10km, but felt much less) but the host stopped and help take plenty of photos and was very nice Italian man with just enough English! The lunch was nice but was not filling. Some meat, cheese, bread and cous cous with ragu sauce. The wine tasting was very nice. Overall 2 adults and 3 kids enjoyed the experience very much!
I have some good and not so good things to say about the bicycle tour. Good Maurizio, our bike group leader, was friendly and helpful. The winery tour with Francesco at the start (before the bike tour) was good – it was interesting to see the Etruscan grain storage containers discovered during the excavation. The lunch after the bike tour was good. Not so Good The pictures on the bike tour section of the website show flat, quiet roads – one looks like an untraveled farm road. The tour is in fact on hilly roads with traffic. It was not dangerous but was not the type of relaxing cycling environment shown in the pictures. Had I known what type of roads were involved I wouldn’t have booked the tour. Also, if you are not used to cycling up hills don’t book this tour. The TuscanyCycle owner (Dejan, I think) gave a safety talk at the outset of the tour but then I discovered, after we started, that the right hand (rear wheel) brake on my bike did not fully grip the wheel, even when fully engaged. I had to rely on the left hand (front wheel) brake. This is an unsafe situation when going downhill. Maurizio kindly switched bikes with me when I alerted him to this problem but it was still concerning. Dejan and his crew have plenty of time every day, while people are having lunch, to make any necessary adjustments to the bikes so why wouldn’t they attend to basic safety items?
Manuela was excellent host at the winery, interesting back story to the winery, bike were decent for the short ride, Kenny was a great guide.
The wine tour was so Interesting. Wine was amazing. Biking through the countryside was beautiful. Staff are friendly.
Dajan was the best tour guide ever! We had a lot of fun together because I had to ride on the back of his vespa while doing the tour! I honestly enjoyed riding with someone else so I could see the views of the beautiful Tuscan countryside.
We showed up for our bike ride and it was canceled. We have not received a refund. It would have been nice to know that it was canceled.
I’ve travelled for many years across North America and Europe. I can say that this was probably the best excursion by far that I’ve ever done. The views were incredible, the bike and route and food quality were amazing, but the best part was the staff. Dejan and his team are superb. Responsive, friendly, informative…just an unbelievable experience created by a passionate and honest team. I’ve already texted my friends back in Canada to go to Italy just for this tour. Thank you Dejan and your wonderful hospitality. I’ll remember this experience forever.
This was probably the highlight of our trip in Firenze. Escape the chaos of the city to enjoy a glimpse (and taste) of "real Tuscany". The cycle tour was the perfect distance and difficulty for an adult of average fitness. Great food, wine and olive oil from a family run farm. The cherry on the top was our tour guide Tom, who was an encyclopedia of local information and history but most of all was a really polite, organised chap and overall an excellent host. Ultimately it's the staff that really set this apart from other attractions so well done!
We loved our day with Tuscany Cycle! We spontaneously booked the tour the night before, so went into the day with almost zero expectations. What a pleasant surprise! The full-day vespa tour included a bus ride out of Florence into the Tuscan countryside, with a lesson, winery tour and delicious lunch. We had a blast getting to know the other guests, the amazing guides, and the locals at the winery. Thank you so much to the team for the great day - we would definitely book again!
Tuscany is beautiful. The views during our bike tour were exceptional. However, the reviews on this site did not prepare me for how challenging the bike ride would be. If you are not an avid cyclist or triathlete, you should opt for an E bike or a Vespa. I am an active person, and I had to walk my bike a few times during the trip. If you want a workout combined with a tour, this one’s for you.
Amazing scenery and such a fun day! We really enjoyed the bike ride. We had a guided tour around several vineyards and then had lunch with wine from a local vineyard. We loved it!
My husband and I knew we wanted to tour the Tuscan area, but kept rethinking how to go about it. This tour was the absolute highlight of our trip. We were kept laughing from our tour guides and learned so much about the area. We are already planning a return trip and have this on our must do list again!!
Fantastic day escaping Florence to see the Tuscan countryside. Our guide drove us to a Fattoria in Fiano, perfect location for a vineyard and trattoria overlooking the Tuscan hills. We went on a long bike ride to work up an appetite for a typically Tuscan lunch (with wine). Met some great people along the way too!
We really anticipated this bike ride, and I must say you should be relatively fit for it. The biking guide will judge the groups capabilities and perhaps determine an easier route if need be, but my husband and I were the only bikers as everyone else elected to drive vespas, therefore we got the full route and enjoyed all of its challenges. The food was amazing as was the wine. Definitely recommend!
This was a perfect tour for my friend and I. We loved riding the vespas through the beautiful tuscan scenery and also enjoyed the wine tasting and lunch. It was a perfect way to both tour a vineyard and have the wine experience, but also to have a fun unique adventure on the bikes! 10/10 totally recommend!
Perfect way to see the city of Florence, so much fun and the best way to explore this wonderful place. Highly recommended
We signed up for a bike tour. We were informed that it was not available the morning of and offered a refund or a vesper tour. Being we booked it the night before we had no choice to take the vesper tour or nothing for the day. While the tour was actually very good.we felt the bike tour should not have been available for purchase the night before if it was not going to be honored.
Today my mum and I went on the bike tour throughout the Tuscan country side and absolutely loved it! The three guys that organised and ran the day were awesome to chat to, super knowledgeable and really chilled which made the day flow well and enjoyable for all. The view of the countryside was breathtaking. The bike tour was then followed up by a delicious meal and wine in the castle. As well as the bike tour we had a guide take us through the vineyard cellar and chat to us about the company’s wine and olive oil making process (super interesting!) If you want a beautiful day jam packed with history, sport, food, wine, great people and the most amazing backdrop - this tour is worth it! My mum and I can’t thank the guys who ran this enough. Cheers from two happy Aussies! ❤️
It was freezing and rainy the day we chose to do the bike tour. However, they were nice enough to allow us to upgrade to a Vespa tour with no charge since biking would have been very difficult on the rainy roads. Although the weather was nowhere near ideal, they were all very friendly, hospitable, and gave us a great experience regardless. The winery is amazing and the views are incredible even on a crappy day. Would highly recommend.
We loved our day-trip with Tuscany Cycle to the Chianti Rufina region of Tuscany. Bruno was our guide for the bike ride and he was very perceptive of our riding abilities/preferences so he didn't go too fast and took a few breaks so we could rest and so I could take pics. The autumn colors in the vineyards and rolling hills were absolutely gorgeous. We also toured the Castello di Trebbio and had a generous and delicious lunch there, complete with wines that are made there. All the guides were friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend this company!

Guide was fun, day trip was fun, amazing however the bicycle tour took the wind out of me but the experience of Tuscany and lunch with wine was well worth it. Highly recommended.

Great lunch. Great guide who kindly got me through. Im not a regular bike rider so the even smallest hills were too much for me. I had to walk most of them. It was the height of summer which wore me down. My husband however is a regular rider and had no troubles. Great antipasto and pasta lunch with great Chiant wine. Ouf tour guide Niccola was great and understanding.

Unfortunately it was not a good experience, the guide made us cycle non-stop, around 15 km with a lot of climbs (we are well prepared, so much so that we completed the route quickly), we didn't have to stop to take photos, everything was very rushed, lunch was very weak, a starter and the main course a type of Moroccan couscous. For someone who cycled so much in the hot sun, we expected much more A relatively expensive tour, which did not meet what was in the description
Fantastic just fantastic advice to see Florence doing it all by bike Truly a unique and beautiful thing
