Our tour guide and driver, Cristian, was amazing! He was very knowledgeable and had great recommendations. He took us to the family owned and operated Corbucci winery, where we had a wonderful wine tasting with the lively Francesco. We then headed to the cool medieval town of San Gimignano where we climbed the bell tower for an amazing view of the countryside.
Our guide (Christian) was fun and knowledgeable. We had a private tour with our family of five to two different wineries. Both places were passionate about their wines. We had a great day with amazing views!
We booked a 1/2 day private visit of the Chianti region through Viator. Placedo is an excellent guide! He greeted us promptly at our hotel at our designated pick up time and from that moment on our experience was 5 stars. Placedo is very friendly and his intimate and extensive knowledge of the area were amazing. We have never been to Florence or Chianti so he explained things as we passed, gave us excellent tips for our stay and took us to a quaint but beautiful family owned winery (Corbucci) where we were treated with special attention. We wish we had the whole day with Placedo! 4 hours was not enough time to enjoy all that he could have shared with us. Next time we will ask for him specifically and spend the entire day with him as our guide. Well done Ciao Florence! Placedo is excellent and we highly recommend him!

We had a fabulous day with Cristian Nuti! He was absolutely amazing . Very knowledgeable about wines and took the experience to another level. Once he knew we were from the US he stopped at the American world War II memorial cemetery. We had some time before heading back to our hotel and he stop near the city center which had a beautiful view, so we were able to get some great photos. If you take a tour, I would highly recommend that you book with them and request Cristian you will not be disappointed.
Christian was amazing. The place was beautiful one of the best tours I’ve ever had. He stop at special American World War II memorial that he just thought about that we might like, which was amazing, educated us about the wine rating and how the grape process it was amazing. Huh I don’t know how to spell that way yeah
Had a WONDERFUL time! Our driver/guide Cristian Nuti could NOT have been better! He was informative, friendly, and EXTREMELY knowledgeable. As we were heading for Chianti Cristian asked if we wanted a short detour as we were passing the U. S. WW11 memorial. We then proceeded on to Fattoria Sant Appiano for a tour, light lunch and wine tasting. Our entire party had a delightful half-day. We could not have been more pleased and HIGHLY recommend the tour, and specifically with Cristian.
Our experience with the driver and car was overall wonderful, however, my husband and I felt regret after organizing a wine tasting at a family-run winery recommended by the driver. Our driver was friendly and the vehicle was roomy, cool, and pleasant. Our original plan was to do 2 tastings and visit San Gimignano. We explained to the driver we would much prefer older, family-run, less touristy wineries prior to booking the winery experience. The winery organized felt like a major tourist trap and we felt major pressure to also eat lunch there (even though it was not our original plan). It wasted a ton of the time that we would have much preferred spending in San Gimignano ( because of the winery experience, the driver alotted less than 20 minutes for us to walk through the town--which isn't much when there were tons of restaurants, shops, a museum, a tower that we could have climbed etc). It was so quaint and beautiful there. This was disappointing. If we could go back and do it over again, we would have spent our entire time in San Gimignano and some of the other smaller towns in the Chianti region. If we did wineries again, we would have done our research and reservations on our own. Unfortunately because of this experience, it was one of our more expensive and less enjoyable excursions of our trip---if we had known prior we would've made changes accordingly.
We had a spectacular day exploring a bit of Tuscany. We went to a wonderful winery owned and operated by a welcoming family, and our driver Osvaldo was the best! I would highly recommend.

We absolutely loved this trip! Our driver was phenomenal and very helpful in knowing the area and taking us to some great places off the beaten path. Our wine tour that we set up as part of our day was easily mixed into the itinerary and helped to make the whole experience wonderful!
Driver/guide Cristian was amazing. I was disappointed to find that my $500 tour included a drive to the winery and back and only 9-1:00. Winery was private and great. Only complaint would be what is included for $500. Didn’t include lunch stop or wine tasting just the driver/guide and transportation. Ok to book but be sure to get clarification on length of excursions and exactly what it includes.
First rate third party (Ciao Florence). Since this is only a drive through the Chianti region, I arranged two wine tastings. Oswaldo was our guide and I don’t think we could have found or asked for a better guide. He was the best!! This is a MUST do event!!
We had a wonderful time courtesy of our guide Placido. He took us to the Florence American Cemtery which was a beautiful resting place for thousands of American heroes that fought in Italy during WW2. We then moved on to Sienna, followed by lunch at the beautiful family owned Corbucci winery in the Chianti region in Tuscany. At the winery we had a delicious Italian lunch and received a wonderful education in wine from Francessco Corbucci. We left there with a finer appreciation for the craft of wine making, a healthy wine buzz, and and ordered some wine to be shipped to us in the US. After lunch we visited Sam Gimignano which was absolutely beautiful and capped our day off with a stop inside Florence with the absolute best view of the city. All throughout our journey we were peppered with a wealth of history and knowledge of the areas and wonderful picture spots where we took pictures in attempts to do the beauty of the region justice ( not possible). The combination of everything Placido, Francesco and the naturally stunning landscape brought to the experience was unforgettable. Thank you so much for enriching us all! If u get a chance to take this tour I highly recommend Placido and the Corbucci winery! You won't regret it.
Took a private day trip to Siena, San Gimignano, Chianti and a winery (Sant’ Appiano) . Cristian our driver/tour guide was amazing and a wealth of information about all the locations we stopped at. I would highly recommend taking this tour and request Cristian if you can!!
Our driver Placido was absolutely fantastic in all regards. The tour exceeded all of our expectations. We had our family - 2 adults and 3 kids - and also went to a great winery in Tuscany and the views and location was great. A snafu from viator was recovered by Placido’s excellent service
The driver, Placido was very knowledgeable and fun. He took us to a great winery. Loved the experience. He was also a safe driver which we appreciate. The bad part was paying $500.00 us for a half day tour. I paid $477.00us for a full day tour in Amalfi. We feel cheated

Our driver was Placido Perera. He was absolutely fantastic with incredible knowledge of the area. What I did not realize is the tour ONLY included the drive to the region and not the wine tasting. We went to an excellent vineyard and bought a large amount of product and after our credit card was processed, the vineyard asked for additional 60 Euros. If I were to do it again I would work directly with a driver, particularly Placido, and pay the driver and the vineyard separately. Otherwise you are shelling ot over $500 for a drive alone.
We had the best day! My mom and I did a private day trip with pickup from our hotel. Our guide, Christian, was fantastic! Christian was full of knowledge from historical facts, pointing out points of interest and general knowledge of Florence and the Chianti area of Tuscany. We enjoyed visiting San Gimignano, Siena and a winery. Highly recommend this tour and Christian as the guide!

He took us to two wineries for tastings that were rich in history, savory food and unforgettable wines, olive oils and vinegar. This tour to the Chianti wine region misstakingly went to Pisa. The guide was given the wrong information. HOWEVER! The guide was great and recovered and due to his creativity and personality it turned out to be one of the very best tours we have ever taken. There were seven of us and dispite the error our guide got us to a winery and it all turned excellent! I mean excellent! Errors happen but few companies are as good as Viator in recovering and turning it into a wonderful experience. I would always suggest Viator in the future.
Cristian was our driver, he handles tours thoughout the region, he is a Level 2 sommelier. He spoke fluent English and was able to provide history for all that we visited and was outstanding in every detail. He helped us rearrange our agenda (we left from Florence at 9:30 am and returned at 5:30 pm), he called ahead to verify the agenda with winery, coordianted lunch and arranged a side visit to San Gimignalo (lovely town & world famous gilato). He set a great tone for what we considered a magical day.

Very deceiving as you're ONLY paying for a DRIVER/transportation!! There is no plan in place and if you do not have a knowledgeable driver, you're stuck going wherever he/she deems acceptable. Also, there is EXTRA cost for food/wine tasting.
We were picked up right in front of our hotel on time to the second. Our driver was so knowledgeable fun and took us to a wee village as well.
Had we not had a GREAT driver, Julian, I would give this tour a zero. The description for this tour is deceiving. It literally says under "What to Expect" that our first destination is a "well-known Chianti winery" and that we end with the town of Greve. Well, just know that you are only paying for a driver and a drive into the countryside with this deal. There is an EXTRA cost to go to a winery and for activities at a winery. There is no agenda ready to go when you hop in the van other than your driver takes you around the Tuscany countryside and make stops for photo ops. Your driver personalizes the trip for you when you hop on. While our driver was driving away from our hotel, we called Ciao Florence Tours and Travels, and they basically said that they're a third party and it's not their fault that the description on Trip Advisor does not describe their service correctly. It was frustrating, but we were in the van already so we made the best out of it. We did pay extra to go to a family winery (about 40 euros a person) and had a great dinner with wine tasting and olive oil tasting. Julian had connections and was able to fit us in at the last minute! We didn't get great pictures because it was pouring out (no one's fault) and we also did not make it to Greve (also in the description on this page) because we ran out of time. Had it not been for Julian's quick thinking and connections, we would have literally just drove around the Tuscany countryside in the pouring rain for 4 hours. Julian saved our tour!!! We give him 5 stars!!! We would recommend going with a different tour service if you want winery activities included though. But if you don't mind personalizing your tour with your driver for extra, ask for Julian. He is very knowledgeable about Florence and will help you find the places you want to go!
We booked a private tour with Christian without really knowing much about the area. He made several excellent recommendations regarding time frame for our travels and recommended an excellent guide in Sienna. Furthermore, he scheduled a lunch and wine tasting at a nearby winery and it was perfect. I highly recommend this company and Christian in particular. He was knowledgeable, thoughtful, and provided an excellent experience.
We squeezed this in as soon as we got to Florence. IT was a great half day experience. We got out to the Chiati region and relaxed with an amazing Chiati waiter who explained every bit of regional information, How balsamic vinegar is made and who the wine is so special etc. Even the kids got to enjoy the tour, which was not designed for them.
We had an amazing time with our tour guide, Christian. He was very knowledgeable about the history of Florence as well as the wines grown in Chianti. He took us to a beautiful family run winery we would never had known about had we been on our own. He was happy to stop wherever we wanted to take pictures. He also went out of his way and a little over our time to take us to Michelangiolo Square at his suggestion because he felt it was somewhere we must go before we leave Florence. Overall, it was a very nice afternoon and well worth the money.
This tour was incredible - one of our favorite memories of our entire trip to Italy to celebrate our anniversary. Christian was very personable and customized our tour to cater to exactly what we wanted to get out of it. Oh, and the wine + views were great too.
Christian is amazing! He's SO ENERGETIC and is really an awesome guide to introduce you to the stunning region of Tuscany. He's so knowledgeable, personable, and makes even a boring car ride be pretty entertaining. Christian was fantastic. My sister and I wanted to ship some items home to the US, but we did not have any boxes. While we were sightseeing in one of the towns, Christine tracked down boxes for us, packed up our stuff in them, bought some tape to secure them and brought us to a local post office to get them shipped. He came in with us to help translate since the employees at the post office did not speak English, and we did not speak Italian. Besides all of that, he was so knowledgeable about the area and very entertaining. He brought us to a wonderful winery for a fantastic lunch and tour that was not even on the agenda. It was such a pleasant and unexpected surprise. That day was such a special and memorable part of our trip to Italy. If I ever go back I would definitely plan another day with him, and I would recommend him to anyone who was planning to visit that part of Italy. He is definitely a credit to your company.

Although our itinerary was already quite full, my daughters were eager to see Tuscany. I booked a private tour which included wine tasting. We were picked up at our hotel by Christian, who made the tour really special. Christian took the time to find out what we were interested in doing while in Tuscany. Our desire was to spend a relaxing afternoon enjoying the vistas and some wine. Christian was personable, professional, and knowledgeable. He knew a lot about wine making, and the history of the area. The vineyard he chose for us, Poggio Amorelli, has a beautiful terrace looking over the Tuscan hillside. The staff that gave us a tour as well as the servers were all very nice and very accommodating. The wine was amazing and I am looking forward to receiving the bottles that I had shipped home. My husband and I just returned from a private day trip from Florence to the Brunello wine area of Moltalcino with Christian from Ciao Florence Tours. What a spectacular day! He was early to pick us up in the morning. He was charming, funny and very knowledgeable about the region and the wine. He shared stories with us about the towns we were driving through and the history of the area. So interesting and fun. We will be returning next year with a group and will ask for him as he does both private and group tours in Tuscany and the surrounding areas as well. Thank you Christian for a fabulous day! Ciao Florence provides great service and a well put together Chianti wine tour. It is child-friendly and very adult friendly (great wines). They pre-sales service is good. As wine novices, we found the tour extremely enjoyable and picked up some great wine tips. It's well worth the money. But one word of caution - do make sure that you know your tour guide's name and number and the driver's name and number. If you happen to lose something on the tour - you'll probably have to give it up as gone. My brother-in-law forgot his wallet on the bus and well, it's gone forever.
Very interesting and many wines from 2 different wineries were tasted. The guide Ana is very nice. 7 different types of wine were tasted, all accompanied with tapas to make it taste better. More than advisable.
