Florence: Duomo Cathedral Guided Tour Experience

Our guide Giulio (aka Julio for Spanish speakers) was a native resident of Florence and was filled with great information about the cathedral, inside and out. He spoke clearly, was amusing and professional. he spoke fluent english, spanish, french and of course italian! Maybe more. Great tour. Well priced. Highly recommend!

We had a very nice time with Giulio on this tour. He was very knowledgeable and the tour was smooth and seamless. The price was very much worth the experience. The only downside, in my opinion, was how guests were given over 30 minutes after the start of the tour to join, causing the guide to restart to catch people up on a few occasions. I would've preferred if there was a stricter start time and latecomers not be given such accommodation after the tour has already started, maybe 10-15 minutes after the start time, as it impacts the enjoyment of those who were punctual.

I booked last minute, and so glad I did. Emanuela was so knowledgeable and imparted a lot of information about the beautiful facade before we entered. A short but beneficial tour.

This was one of those moments where you just stop and look around, taking everything in.The organization was great, and the experience felt very smooth.The guide made sure we didn’t miss the essence of the place.

Patricia was our guide for the day. After finding the Viator person we quickly got the audio devices and joined the line. A few of us were expecting a skip-the-line experience so be aware, this is not. That being said, in under 30 minutes we were inside. Meanwhile Patricia gave us a history lesson on Florence and continued inside. Definitely worth the time, beautiful cathedral!

Our tour experience of the Florence Cathedral was one of the highlights of our trip and certainly the best deal. Julio, our guide, was outstanding. Entertaining, full of information, and well-versed in navigating the logistics moving the group into and through the cathedral. The information and details were shared from the moment we got in line until the end! If I do this again, would definitely see if I could request Julio again!

One of the most memorable moments of my trip to Florence. The cathedral is simply magnificent, and having a knowledgeable guide made it even more special. The stories, the history, and the beauty all come together in the most incredible way.

Guide was informative but we had to wait an hour for entry as they didnt tell us we would only be allowed to enter at 10:15 even though we booked for 9:15, we had to leave our tour early as we had another booking at uffizi.

Terrible tour since the guide did not speak French; also, setting up the audio guide on the phone was impossible; since asking the guide for help was impossible, we continued the tour alone.

I felt cheated. The company should warn that the guide is only in English and that the other languages can only see a video on mobile phones and that it is constantly failing. And this after a giant line to get in. To avoid except if you choose the English language.

Ideal when you don't have much time

Our guide Guilio made us forget the waiting time to access the cathedral with his explanations and humor. He has excellent linguistic and historical knowledge.

It's a real scam. Don't buy this. They sell it as a ticket and you actually have to queue up like everyone else and you’re just paying for an audio guide that you can search for on the Internet. They sell it as reserved entrance with audio guide..... And it turns out that the entrance is not reserved or even there is entrance.... It is free admission by queuing for more than two hours.... Don't think about buying this.

If you are Italian they make you download a link where you can listen to the audio guide and if you have a dead phone you make do. You still line up for miles. Basically wasted money.

Attention rip-off! We booked this tour in German. On arrival we should scan the QR code with our mobile phones to download the German-language tour. After that we queued for about 75 minutes to get into the (for all) free entrance of the cathedral. We didn't see the guide after that. We did the tour of the cathedral on our own. Unfortunately, the file we downloaded was not the real one either. The text is so similar on Google. In addition, many names have been mispronounced and the tour is not adapted to the actual circumstances. In summary, you can say that here for 10 € per person you get information that can be found on Google for free and the AI of Google pronounces the mentioned names correctly. Very disappointing!

Beautiful basilica from the outside but very little to see inside. It's not worth paying and standing in line. There is only painting in the cathedral dome to see.

We have booked a German audio guide. And then had to accept an English speaking tour. 😔
