Because we traveled from the west coast of the united states we over slept. I didn't want a refund just a little flexibility as we were only in Florence Italy for 2 days before moving on to Cortona. The local vendor would not or could not add the 2 of us to another tour the same day or even the next day. Seems a little inflexible. We weren't a party of 8 we were just 2 people. I don't think it would be unreasonable to add 2 people to another tour.

3.5 stars - it was informative but a lot of rapid fire facts, could do with more storytelling. Tour guide had no sign and almost missed it - but this seems typical of Italy Viator tours, I’m not sure why they don’t hold a business sign to make it clearer.
Francesca was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the tour which made it absolutely awesome.
It is a great tour and our guide Ivan made it very real entertaining and human. I would recommend him as a guide. He was not too loud either like some of the guides i heard.
We had an excellent tour guide who patiently explained so much of what we were seeing. She was extremely knowledgeable and made the tour memorable. When we arrived, she knew who we were and started the tour, knowing everyone was present, right on time.
The Chapel is so beautiful. While I had some familiarity with certain of the Medicis, the guide, unfortunately, assumed that the 5 people on the tour knew a lot more about them, especially since one individual on the tour kept referencing the Medici series on Netflix or other cable station in America. I would have hoped to learn more about the Medicis whose mausoleums we viewed on the tour. However, the guide did not fill in the blanks or make the Medicis come to life for us on this tour. We could have explored the Chapel on our own with similar results.
Was a good tour, the guide was knowledgeable. Just felt a little overpriced for what we got compared to other tours we’ve done
We booked with Viator for 11:15 and this was also the time confirmed. We waited until ten minutes before the tour and saw no one; we were in the right meeting spot. We called the number available and the person I spoke with said it was “impossible” that I booked at 11:15; the tour was for 11:45. I triple checked and everything we had said 11:15. I was disappointed to wait almost an hour due to the mistake - we were not offered an apology. Ultimately and fortunately we were able to wait but had to leave at the intended ending so we could make another tour. This wasn’t honestly that big of a deal, but being told the mistake was “impossible” with no concern for what happened on the back end was just surprising. Also, the tour was okay. Normally with Viator I have had an excellent experience- so this wasn’t honestly just not the great experience I was used to. Thankful we got to go - wish someone would have taken a look at our documents and shown any concern for our time.
The Medici Chapel has so many interesting features. Our tour guide furnished so much information regarding the various areas and artworks Very informative!
Francesca was a great guide. She was friendly and animated and really passionate about sharing details of the Medici family. The chapel is awesome. A must see! It is an often overlooked site among others in Florence, but it should be on everyone’s list. Plus you see many of Michelangelo sculptures in one room. I want to go back.
On this particular tour, there were only two of us. Basically a private tour. Ivan was our guide. He was extremely knowledgeable and had a wonderful sense of humor as well. In what was a serious venue, he made it very approachable. I would greatly recommend Ivan!
Be prepared to be wowed! So much information about the Medici’s, their history, and of the artwork and crypts - it really put the Renassaince period in perspective as well as the other Medici places we had visited across the city.. Our tour guide, Lorenzo, was passionate, very well informed and had great recommendations of further a Medici resource info (including a movie). He also gave us recommendations of other places to visit that were lesser known but nonetheless informative and beautiful. We felt extremely lucky to have him as guide and he has been (by far) the BEST tour guide of our visit. He was also on time, prepared, and included pictures (portraits) of all important Medici’s that helped bring them to life for us.
Wow! I did not expect so much in such a compact museum. The tour was phenomenal - I highly recommend Francesca. She has so much knowledge on the Medici and the space, and bring in her tablet to provide more context. My only regret is we could not hire her to show us the rest of the city!
Great tour. Our guide explained thoroughly about the period of the time and Medici family. Explained about the sculptures and the large beautiful room. Definitely recommend the tour to understand what you are seeing.
Fantastic stories and history told by a knowledgeable and entertaining guide who customised the tour
Our guide was not good. He was late, his breath smelled bad, and all of us on the tour had a very hard time understanding him. He seemed to have an agenda he wanted to convince us of rather than telling us about what we were seeing. I would not recommend our guide ever.
Very knowledgeable guide with a great sense of humor and engaging stories but we all struggled to understand the heavy accent. The tour was stunning nevertheless.
Very entertaining guide, great information, great presentation with humor. It was very informative in a non boring way
Our tour guide was the best she gave great historical information and the best part is she is a local who was born in florence. I took a lot of tours on this trip and by far this one was the best. I do wish the emails would asking for a review would remind me of our guides name. She deserves to be specifically mentioned but again so many tours and names blend. I only hope to have more like this in the future.
Such a lovely tour! Full of so much information and our tour guide was great (her name started with a “G” - sorry I can’t remember!) She really hit all the highlights. Really makes the museum visit so much more fulfilling learning more about these beautiful works of art. Also incorporated the history of Florence. I don’t know much about art but I appreciate its beauty, and this tour was perfect to learn from.
Very knowledgeable and charismatic guide. She kept the tour interesting and enjoyable. The chapel itself was fully accessible with no restoration work going on so everything was visible. Highly recommended.
Amazing images and frescoes. Lots of information and some fun facts about the Medici and their rich (literally and figuratively) history
A great finale to all the 5 other Medici tours. The Sculptures are very beautiful as well as many other pieces of art. Good guide Thank You Richard and Victoria Wilson
Our guide was excellent. He gave a great overview on history of the Medici family. The Chapels and specifically the second floor were amazing. This a great tour since it was not crowded, a definite must see in Florence.
Our rour guide was fantastic-knowledgeable, lively and fun. She taught us so much we didn’t know about the history of Italy. The venue was magnificent. We even bought books about the Medicis and Michelangelo!
We had an amazing experience with Annette touring the Medici family home. Annette was very enlightening and enthusiastic providing us with the incredible history of this family, their relationship to the city of Florence and to Michelangelo. We would highly recommend this tour to learn about the power and history of this family and their importance as patrons of the arts in Florence. We highly recommend you book your tour with Annette
Marta provides a comprehensive history of the family & the political, financial and religious influences leading up to present state of the chapel including the works of Michelangelo. Marta is very knowledgeable, engaging & genuine.
The chapel is breathtaking (and a bit overwhelming)! Our guide, Stefi, was very knowledgable and full of enthusiasm :) She brought Medici history alive and I am now reading a history of the Medicis! Highly recommend Stefi and the tour.
Manuela was an amazing tour guide! So glad we toured the Medici Chapels. Absolutely breathtaking! Manuela provided so much history. Would take any tour with her!
This was a good review of the medici family and connection to D'Angelo work and religious/art background
Sara was an amazing tour guide. She made the Medici Chapel come alive with just the right amount of Medici history. And just the right amount of information on the construction of this absolutely beautiful building. The main room inside the Medici Chapel is the most beautiful room I have ever been in. A must see. The outside of the building is plain but it hides a stunning interior.
The chapel of the Princes was breathtaking. There was so to look at and the sculptures were amazing!
Laura our guide was so knowledgeable about the ye history of the Medici family. My partner has knee problems she very understandable to that. Excellent guide
Our tour guide Elizabeth was so knowledgeable and made the tour fun as well! Grazie Mille! We highly recommend her!
Excellent tour. I recommend it to every Spanish-speaking person. The guide was very knowledgeable, pleasant, and entertaining.
The guide Francisca was fabulous. She explained everything in a very pleasant way and with photographic support using a tablet. She was very patient while we were taking photos.
