This private tour was a look at Florence from a local’s perspective, which is what we wanted. We hired Claudio to fill in a free morning during our Italy tour with a larger group. He provided us with a more personalized perspective on Florence, including a visit to the less touristy side of the Arno river. Claudio really engages with us personally, rather than giving a set piece presentation. He treated us to coffee in a beautiful historic café and entertained us with all sorts of stories. It was a great way to spend a couple of hours in Florence.

Marilisa did a wonderful job of showing us a snapshot of the city that we did not get on our regularly scheduled tour. She is.a.delightful person and very.engaging. Not even the rain could dampen her spirits.
This was the worst tour we have ever taken. Our tour guide, alessandro, was nice, but we could not hear or understand anything he was saying. We asked him multiple times to speak up and reiterated that we could not hear or understand him, but he made no changes. My husband and I are both in our 30s and not hard of hearing, and we could only manage to understand a few words here and there. Additionally, there was nothing unique about this tour. We visited the typical tourist spots and no “local” knowledge was provided. It was not what we expected from a private tour and we were very dissatisfied with the overall experience.
Our tour guide who spoke fluent English was very knowledgeable about Florence and our interests. His name is Gianmarco Maioli. I would highly recommend him for future tours.
We had a fabulous time with Gianmarco! Both my husband and I had been to Florence before and wanted to see some things we had not seen before. Gianmarco showed us around the city highlighting some interesting new spots for us. Being with a Florence local gave us a fun perspective of the city, its culture, and its history. The experience with Valmi was excellent! She was prompt, kind, fun, and very generous with her time and talents. The length and level of depth that she covered was more than expected. Claudio was great! We had some unexpected illness with one of our members on the trip and Claudio not only helped us get her back to our hotel, he also stayed longer and took us around sampling Firenze's best and sharing history of the city. He even helped carry our bags! He was incredibly nice and helpful, we enjoyed our time.
Claudio had a great personality & was very accommodating to our requests. Having been to Frienze previously, he took us to see things we hadn't done before that were interesting & fun. We were with our 13 year old granddaughter & he made sure that she was engaged and enjoying the tour as well. He even took us to where we had to meet up for our next tour to make sure we found it and got there on time. This was above and beyond since it took him 30 minutes more than the allotted time for our tour with him.
Allasandro took us all over the city, showed us the history of the Medici family and its affect on the history of Florence. He showed us the most ancient pharmacy in the city which was stunning. He took us to local market that sold fine Italian products we could buy. He took us to a local market and showed us the history of the market and the merchants that worked there. He fed us at a local corner trying out local food that normally we would never think of trying but it was DELICIOUS. He brought us bread from a local market to try that was FANTASTIC, and gave my daughter a gift for her birthday. We couldn’t have asked for more!
What an amazing experience from start to finish. Gianmarco promptly made contact with us asking questions to personalise the experience to exactly what we wanted. He was very knowledgable, friendly and his English is better than mine. He arrived early and took us to some beautiful spots full of history but not necessarily what we would have seen having done it ourselves. He provided a document with lots of recommendations of eateries etc which we used. They weren’t full of tourists just locals and the food was amazing. Highly recommend 5 star experience
Claudio was a phenomenal guide. He took us all around the city. We learned a lot, tasted delicious food, shopped and laughed a lot. He went out of his way to make this a special tour. He was thoughtful (he even carried all of our many bags after shopping) . We now consider him our dear friend.

Valmi have us a great tour of the city. She was engaging and informative and a lot of fun. This tour did not include entry into the sites (Duomo, Palazzo Vechio, Pitti Palace etc) so if you want to enter these sites you will need to do that on your own.

Martina emailed me ahead of time and we planned how to spend the six hour private tour. I think that was the key to the success of the day. We visited her side of Florence, enjoyed the outdoor markets, gardens and specialty stores for art. We went to an amazing place for lunch and later, stopped a wine bar. All this afforded Martina time to share her city with me. I felt like I was not a tourist but visiting with a friend. I have been to Florence before and done all the major sites. This was a unique day that I will never forget.
The four of us (2 couples) did a three hour private walking tour of Florence. Our guide, Martina was exceptional. Her knowledge of the history of Florence as well as the key families that shaped the growth of Florence was very well articulated. It made all the difference in our understanding and enjoyment of the city. Martina took the time to understand what we were interested in and planned our walk around our interests. She patiently answered our questions and frequently checked in with us during the tour to ensure we were getting what we wanted and the pace of the tour was really up to us. At the end of the tour she provided us with recommendations for restaurants, wine windows, shopping, and other areas of interest in Florence. Thank you Martina for such a wonderful tour!
It was great having a private tour, especially since we only had a day and a half to explore Florence Claudio was fun and so passionate about every detail.
This was a perfect orientation to old Florence. Our private host brought us around the beautiful streets of Florence and highlighted all the points of interest with interesting tid bits of knowledge so that we understood the deep history of the area.

We had a wonderful walking tour of Florence including Oltarno. RiLi showed us interesting places that a newcomer would miss. The tour was tailored to our interests and We specifically avoided the typical busy area of the Duomo and Palazzo Vecchio. We saw interesting architecture, hidden gardens, and areas where locals lived. The Odeon Bookstor/ Theatre was a great final stop.
This is a MUST do! This was an absolutely fantastic walking tour! I decided to do the private tour because I wanted to see the sites and learn about Florence. I heard the other walking tours were just so large and it was hard to hear the guide. Well, I’m so glad that I decided to do this private and we got Martina. She’s very kind, flexible, conscientious, and knowledgeable. She knows so much about Florence and is a gem. She took us to the sights, told us about the history, and even provided recommendations for activities. I provided her with a very long list of places that I wanted to see. Literally! I love how she customized the tour based on what we wanted. I would absolutely do this tour with Martina again. And it was her birthday. She didn’t skimp out on the tour even though she had plans with her family.

We have learned a lot regarding the history and the culture of the city. We visited also some points of interest ( ex wine window)that are usually not part of a tour.
Jacopo was awesome!! I highly recommend booking this tour! He is so accommodating with whatever you would like to see and offers suggestions as to what you need to see. Gives tips and emails sights/food/drink places to go explore on your own. Book this when you first arrive so you have an idea of where to go!
We had a 3 hour walking tour with Mik, which was amazing! He is a wonderful person, and amazing guide. He is so passionate about Florence’s history and it shines through his entire tour. He has kids, so is very patient and empathetic to those with kids. He is thoughtful and kept us in the shade as much as possible, and also highlight spots for drinks, water bottle refills and toilets throughout the tour. Plus he has been living in Florence for 20 years (maybe more can’t remember the exact number) and knows a ton of people and can provide amazing recommendations.
Things could not have gone better. Olmo (our guide) picked us up timely at the front of our hotel and we strolled for a couple of hours taking in unique sights with a depth of historical and contextual commentary we never would have been able to ascertain on our own. The guide truly let us guide where we wanted to go and he did the rest. There were also some special side trips outside of the tourist areas where we could get a nice feel for life in Firenze, with a stop even by the guide's home (and a nice little refreshment). Very nice day!
Wonderful introduction to Florence gems based on what we wanted to enjoy while in Florence. Set your own pace tour guide had a delightful manner, sense of humor, knowledgeable of Florence’s history, culture, art, politics, geography. He appreciated our questions and pointed out some curiosities. We were provided so many customized suggestions for best places to enjoy authentic Tuscan cuisine, wine, gelato (we have multiple food sensitivities), shopping for specific items made in Florence. For example, after touring the leather school, we know how to recognize the authentic leather items made in Florence.
Martina was FANTASTIC!!! She was the perfect mix of showing us around the city, giving the historical information, favorites of the city and passing us through hidden gems. I’ve already passed her info along to other friends coming to Florence. If you have a few hours and want to get acquainted with the city, this is a must!
