Reviews
The length of the tour was perfect… especially after several days of site seeing and information overload. Loved some of the stops off the beaten track as well. Nicely organized and executed!!!
Tour guide was knowledgeable. Group of the tour was kind of a mess, one woman showed up late making everyone else wait, then disappeared during tour without telling guide she couldn't keep up. Other people in tour brought backpacks that had to be checked in to storage wasting more time. Tour provided some good information but overall not worth it.
Martine was a great your guide! Loved the trip. So much history and art detail. Lots of walking but plenty of breaks made it seem easy. Really enjoyed Florence!
Very thorough and educational. We covered a ton of ground in a few hours. I was so impressed with the technology so we could hear everything at our sound level. This was perfect for a solo traveler or a group. I learned a ton and was a great way to see Florence and I loved all the personal recs. Would definitely do again and share with others. I was so impressed with how knowledgeable our tour guide was. Her extensive knowledge of art, history, and the local scene blew me away. Well done!
Easy way to hit the highlights and learn about the city of Florence. Wear comfortable walking shoes.
This is a great tour includes academia Museum and a general introduction of Firenze We were a group of six and we all enjoyed it. Deborah was very knowledgeable.
Marco was very informative and passionate. He told a story from beginning to end! Wear comfortable shoes as there is some walking and lots of standing.
Excellent tour with our very pleasant & knowledgeable guide! Loved the sites & learned a lot! Make this a priority trip!
This was great. We had a wonderful time seeing the renaissance academy and the church. Firenze has so much rich history we were unaware of. It was incredible to learn and experience it.
Very informative tour. Hits the highlights. Our guide was very good and mindful of our safety and understanding of how things worked with security, etc. I felt we were in good hands. She positioned us well for photos too.
Sarah was a fantastic guide! Very knowledgeable and pleasant. The tour itself was a good overview of some of the highlights of Florence.
Do NOT book this tour, and don’t book any tours through “Walks In Europe” tours specifically. Find a tour operator or a tour with a much better cancellation or weather policy. We were supposed to go on the walking tour through several plazas and squares within Florence, however, there has been severe thunderstorms and lightning and still the tour operator has refused a refund. It is not worth the $$$ to be forced to go on a tour in awful and dangerous weather conditions. You will be much happier booking a different tour with a different operator!
Elise was great informative friendly. Florence of course busy so very crowded in museum etc.........
Our tour guide Martina was incredible! Very knowledgeable, funny and interactive! She also gave great post tour recommendations
It was just as advertised our guide was very nice and knowledgeable, she made the 3 hour tour extremely entertaining, I really enjoyed it
Julia , our guide who speaks fluent English gave us comprehensive & complete guided tour. We entered the Academia without waiting and procededed to give us the highlights of the Academia with the not to miss Davide by Michelangelo. Second stop is the Duomo, the Florence cathedral. She gave us a historical background of the Amazing contruction of the Baptistry, Cathedral & Brunelleschi's Dome. We also had the privilege to enter the museum, from there we walked to Piazza della Signoria on the way to Ponte Vecchio. Julia truly loves imparting with us the wonders of the Museum, Cathedral and the Florence site. It is always better to have a guide when you want to see Davide and the Duomo in my opinion. Julia studied English and history of Florence which makes this tour a must.
It’s not 3 hours. Your bell tower ticket may be hours after tour. You must follow dress code which they did not post until I complained. Don’t bother complaining to Viator, they don’t care.
Marco was a very good guide ! We were kept engaged throughout the whole tour with lots of interesting information and facts. It didn't feel like it had dragged on either like some tours can and we moved at a good pace. The guide was patient and kind with us all. I would recommend this tour.
Guide was amazing. I loved how she was patient and very friendly. I would recommend this to others..
Frederica was excellent and so kind. We really appreciated her ability to accommodate the group’s needs and felt that her depth of knowledge added so much to our experience — for us, this was much more interesting than only walking around looking at things ourselves!
Very informative, pleasant, knowledgeable, friendly, and overall great tour for seeing some of the major spots in Florence. Highly recommend!
This tour is a day long wonderful immersion into the Tuscan experience. Breathtaking scenery without the crowds found on other tours in Italy. Wine tasting was simply a bonus to a fantastic day.
My wife and I only had 1 day in Florence and wanted to see a much as we could with our limited time. Our tour guide Marco was very knowledgeable and provided us with a detailed history of Florence and the many places we visited. The skip the line tickets alone made this tour worth it, since we did not have to stand outside for an extended period of time during the summer heat.
Eleanor was very helpful and knowledgeable for the entire trip. She guided us thoughtfully through the tour giving details along the way, but not too much.
Valentina our tour guide was so knowledgeable about the city, Michelangelo and paintings. Even while waiting in line she kept the conversation going. She’s very engaged with the group. You can tell she loves her city and takes pride in providing tours.
Tour guide was knowledgeable, unfortunately a family with 2 small children ruined our time and we left the tour early. We almost missed our time in the museum because mom and son needed to pee. Then they had to check a bottle of wine. Inside museum mom and dad taking g glamor shots in front of the David, kid running loose. They left the group, guide had to go find them. Inside Duomo same thing. On the way to next museum family stopped for ice cream. Tour guide had us all wait once again while he went and found the family. This was horrible. We left without finishing the Tour because the Tour guide let this family ruin it for all. I request a refund.
Our Guide was great! Her depth of knowledge immersed us in the history of Florence and the prominent figures that have shaped Italy. The tour included hearing devices so all communications were clear and the group could easily stay together. All in all, a great experience!
Overall a good tour. The focus of the time spent within the Academia Galleria is guide dependent but overall informative. We booked the 3 hour tour including Giotto Bell tower climb which is 100% worth it! Nite that the 3 hour tours is 3 hours and then you are assigned a climb time (this was not evident to us when booking based on the description within Viator, so plan your day accordingly)
We had an absolutely amazing tour! Francesca was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and funny, which made the experience both educational and enjoyable. She shared so much interesting information and brought the history and culture to life with her stories and sense of humor. We learned a lot and truly enjoyed every minute of it. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area. Thank you, Francesca, for such a wonderful experience!
Julia was fantastic. She was very knowledgeable and took her time at every place. Towards the end of the tour, it was only 4 of us and it felt just right. The other families had kids that didn’t want to be there anymore. It was nice to go inside buildings that had AC.
The guide was very good and helpful. The tour was tailored to capture most important portions of Florence city.
Julia was very knowledgeable of the museums, statue of David and the city of Florence. Recommend the tour and the history of Florence
Since it was our honeymoon, we were trying to avoid group tours as much as possible, but this was the perfect small-group tour for our trip. We got to see the highlights of Florence without spending too much time in any museum. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and so open to answering questions. We got especially lucky with our tour since we were the only ones that booked the extra part of the tour, so it was just us 2 and the tour guide for half of the tour. We learned and saw so much in a small amount of time and felt it was a great value for the money. Would definitely recommend!
Great tour. Guide was very knowledgeable. Unfortunately, we not able to go into the cathedral because of a scheduling issue. However, the guide informed us that we could use the tickets the following day, which we did.
A great way to see and experience Florence if you don't have alot of time. Tour guide was very informative and nice.
Our tour guide was amazing!!! We did the three hour Florence tour with the ability to still do the bell tower, museum and the cathedral later in the day! Thus you had 6 hours of activity locked in this tour! Highly recommend!!
Our tour guide was terrific. She expertly guided us through our travels and was extremely knowledgable. I would highly recommend this tour
Really amazing history without too much dialogue. Not as much walking as I thought, welcomed that! Manuela dis a great job and even got me an affogato after.
It was pretty crowded, but as a solo traveler my tour guide made sure I was always in sight. Lei parli Inglease molto bene and was well understood. I'd do it again!! Well worth it.
The logistics of the trip were a little stressful. We chose the whole day option, and through out the day we picked up other people, which was ok, but meant a lot of waiting at different stops. Next time, I’d choose just the Duomo.
We had such a lovely tour around Florence. You could tell our tour guided loved her city and was very knowledgeable. I would recommend to anyone wanting to visit these places
Awesome tour guide. One of the few in 10 days in Italy who we could actually understand their English. She was passionate about explaining all of the art and kept our interest.
Was an amazing trip, a must do in Florence, Italy! Climbing the duomo was the best part of the trip.
The tour felt a little rushed but that was because there was so much to see. The guide had a lot to share and the headsets provided helped to hear it all. However honestly, you can appreciate it all on your own if you have time and don’t mind the wait.
Elenora was a great guide with a lot of enthusiasm! She made the tour a wonderful experience and had us great tips on how to explore Florence
Excellent tour, would highly recommend. Had a private tour around the highlights of Florence as only myself & my mother were booked onto the tour. Our guide Eleonora was great, made the tour a pleasure to be on. She was very knowledgeable about everything she showed us & was happy to answer questions or give us more time to look at things if we wanted. She selected the best pieces of art etc to view in each place so our time was used well in each place visited. Thank you Eleonora!
Loved that it was a small group of 8 people. Our guide provided some much background/historical information that was interesting and important to make connections to the places we visited and the art pieces that were highlighted. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone who has is visiting for the first time.
It’s easy to Rome a round the city of Florence and see the things that we saw on this tour, but Alisa (our guide) gave as a deeper appreciation for the sights with her stories of the history behind them. The David is simply superb. Been waiting my whole life to see it!!
The tour was very high level and I was hoping to get more of an insider’s perspective of the city and the landmarks that we saw.
