Itinerary
We are in the heart of the city. Straight ahead is the historic Salvatore Ferragamo boutique, in the middle of the square stands the Column of Justice, and to your left the Gothic basilica of Santa Trinita with its frescoes.
Piazza Ognissanti, with a free visit to the church of the same name. Sandro Botticelli, who was born in this quarter, is buried here, as is Caroline Bonaparte, Napoleon's sister. The church is known for frescoes by Domenico Ghirlandaio and by Botticelli himself, and above all for Giotto's Crucifix, the Ognissanti Crucifix.
Where the tour starts and ends, unless you ask us to drop you somewhere else.
We pass the old southern gate in the medieval walls, the historic entrance for anyone arriving in Florence from Rome. This is where the scenic climb up to Piazzale Michelangelo begins.
We cross Ponte Santa Trinita, which gives you the best view there is of Ponte Vecchio, the symbol of Florence and the only bridge in the city spared in 1944. Your driver tells you the story and shows you exactly where to stand for the photo.
A striking three-tiered fountain on the road between Piazzale Michelangelo and the church of San Miniato al Monte. Worth a proper look, especially in the sunset light.
A Benedictine abbey built between 1013 and 1018, the oldest church in Florence in the Florentine Romanesque style, with a white and green marble facade and a wide view over the city.
Porta San Miniato was built in 1320 along the fourteenth-century walls, on the road linking the city to the hill of San Miniato. This is where our climb to the piazzale begins.
We reach Piazzale Michelangelo, where a one-of-a-kind panorama opens up. You will see the whole of Florence from above, with Ponte Vecchio, the Duomo and the Arno laid out beneath you, and at sunset the light on the city is unforgettable.

Was it fun, yes, was it worth the price, no. It is not a private tour, even though it states it in booking. We were with another group. We also did not take a full 90minute, arrived back 15 minutes early.
Clara was wonderful. Accommodating through and dodging rain! Great timing for sunshine and rainbows. Beautiful and concise mini tour of sights to see in Florence. Highly recommend!
Simone was a wonderful guide. It was a great tour of Florence !! Highly recommend Simone and the tour.
Great pick up point, easy to find. Friendly, knowledgeable driver who was great company. We saw places and found out things about Florence that we would not have otherwise. Amazing views and plenty of time to enjoy them, without a long, hot walk. Highly recommended.
They didn’t show up and they didn’t let us know that they’re not coming. We waited outside under the sun with two young kids.
The advertised title of this tour is "Private Tour of the Historic Center of Florence by Golf Car". VERY MISLEADING! I booked this because it was one of the few that said it toured "the Historic CENTER" of Florence. and I paid over $100 to go the same day. It was exactly the same tour as the MUCH cheaper ones (also ones from different companies) that correctly say that the tour gives "over-views" from the hills above Florence. There WAS NO "HISTORIC CENTER". Simone was very nice -- and knowledgable. And we had the great views from the hills that other tours have. Just NOT as Advertised -- and I am highly disappointed in Viator.
Great way to see many sights in a short time. Riding around in the golf cart provides a nice breeze and shade on a very hot day. Our guide, Freddie was very kind and informative. He also took very nice pictures of us at the various locations. I would definitely recommend the tour to anyone. It is especially good if you are not spending a lot of time in Florence and you want to see many things in a short time.
The driver was very informed about the city, accommodating to our needs, helpful in getting great family photos and covered all the highlights of Florence.
The time was incorrect and the tour started a half hour later than expected
We had a wonderful golf cart tour with Simone. All of our family including kids ages 10-17 enjoyed the drive. He provided great context for our stops, and we got out to see a variety of churches and beautiful overlooks. This was one of the highlights of our time in Florence. The golf carts have seats for 5 passengers plus driver.
That using the map from Viator puts you at wrong location. It is synched to wrong location for pickup. The gentleman that gave us our tour was excellent he found us and came to us and then explained all the sites very well. Got azing photos
What a treat! Fantastic guide Simone - so friendly, knowledgeable & fun - nothing was too much trouble for him. We got to see a part of Florence which we’d have never done on foot. Highly recommend!!
Great experience seeing the city highlights...Michelangelo square and the most beautiful photo spit for Florence. Simone was wonderful as a guide. These private tours are the best!!
Excelllent guide…. Had a thorough knowledge of the city and was passionate and proud of his city… full of facts and fun..
The golf cart tour is a perfect way to see Florence on a hot day. We loved listening to all the history fact and Freddy, the guide, took his time to answer all the questions we had. He paused whenever we needed him to and took pictures of our group. This was a very positive experience.
Very informative. Took us to a little church that was beautiful. We’d never have found it on our own
It is a very informative experience.Simone is was a wonderful guide who knew his history of Florence and answered all our questions and brung the whole experience to life. A perfect way to start your trip. He also offers other tours which we are also going to take. Thanks you
We had 12 people and 3 carts - all drivers did an excellent job! We saw all the spots in a nice, easy manor and had a ton of fun! We highly recommend this tour!
This was outstanding! Our guide was very informative and had a great personality. He was a safe driver as well! 👍👍 We enjoyed him very much and we got a great overview of the area. Highly recommend!!! 😁👍👍
Milan was an exceptional guide. Very flexible and happy to discuss all matter of topics about Florence. They found me as I was waiting away from the spot where the golf cart was. Very safe and a great tour.
Guide was Amazing informative and kind it was a wonderful experience would absolutely do it again! Even brought our baby and felt safe.
Excellent tour. Simone was promptly at the meeting spot and agreed to extend the tour so we could see Piazzale Michelangelo. Very informative tour. Nice way to see the city in a couple of hours. Would book again.
Driver didn't come to pick up us, we waited more than 1 hour, although we was at meeting point before the agreed timing. And until now we didn't get any refund for the trip
I have taken many guided tours, but never been driven from stop to stop when our guide pressed "play" on a generic, pre- recorded tour. It was particularly disappointing that we had five hours in Florence and wasted 30 minutes waiting for the company to find our guide and another 10 minutes or so to find the golf cart keys. And then to be guided by audio tape.
An amazing way to see an overview of Florence. We came from a cruise only for 5 hours of visiting. My brother does not walk well and the dropped us at our final meeting point.
Our driver, I forgot his name sorry, (he was a student from Iran studying economics) was fantastic, what a lovely chap. The tour was brilliant, we loved it all. We knew we would not see a lot of Florence on foot due to mobility issues but this way, we feel like we saw loads. Would recommend.
We wanted to go to the Piazelle Michaelangelo overlooking the city. We had been in Florence several days and had seen most of the areas, but the driver shared some new areas as well.
Tour operator was very friendly and was knowledgeable of the historical sites on the tour. Would recommend to all who needs short tour of the city.
The driver was so amazing, very nice talk, nice tour, very nice guy. Will recommend to everyone. Customize your experience with him, very flexible.
Enjoyed our tour around Florence. Great way to get a feel for the city and learn a bit about the history. Our guide was born and raised in Florence and took great pride in introducing us to it. Added the extra time to go up to Michelangelo Square and the views were amazing.
We had a tour with Simone’ in March 2024 and it was a great way to get a layout and history of the city. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable, which also made for a good tour. I would highly recommend this tour!
The guide was great, but they didn't have our booking, so we started 15 minutes late and had to phone the company. As I say, the guide was lovely, but we only visited three sites, which I don't feel was worth the price. It's like we were rushed, even though starting late wasn't our fault. This experience wasn't worth nearly 100€ for two people.
This tour was great! Farhad was very knowledgeable and funny. It was pouring rain, but he still showed us everything (plus we had covered sides to keep us dry!) He gave us plenty of time to take photos and took us to some local favorite spots. We loved it!
Able to stop and take pictures. The tour was kind and knowledgeable able the city. Enjoyed it very much.
Seeing the famous Florence Bridge and all the history! Also stopped by All saints Cathedral and saw the main points of interests.
Our driver, Simone, was the absolute BEST!!! He spent extra time with us to show us the beautiful sunset. He also made recommendations and answered any questions we had. We wish we had taken this tour in each of the Italian cities we stopped in!!
Our tour guide Freddy was really excellent and gave us a great experience. The problem was lack of communication from Viator confirming our reservation to the driver and business owner. As a result we were picked up 40 minutes late which made us late for our next Viator reservation. We should have a refund!
The golf cart tour was a perfect tour because we got to see so much more then if we had just walked around the city. Also it felt much more personalized because it was just myself and my husband on the tour. We had our own private guide.
Great driver who was fun and knowledgeable. Also took the time to stop the cart to take photos of us too. Thank you
Simone was very personable & knowledgeable. Highly recommend this tour, especially go to Piazza Michelangelo.
It’s the worst ever!! The driver never came we waited for an hour, and I texted him,he didn’t respond and I talked to the support they tried to reach him but also no respond. and I didn’t get my money back.
Brilliant trip and a super driver/guide Simone. Absolutely recommend this especially if you find walking around a bit difficult.
Fantastic! Amazing tour with a local who knows the streets, landmarks, and history well. He was able to take us all around the city, take pictures, and show us all we asked for. Golf cart tours are not something we typically think about, but this was such a great idea given the tight roads and crowded streets. The golf cart was perfect!
I loved the church cemetery! Our guide was very good. This is the second time taking this tour it was great!
Very friendly driver telling some interesting details of the city itself. Nice trip around with the overview of the city.
We had a wonderful experience! Highly recommend upgrading from the classic tour to the grand tour! A tremendous way to see Florence and it’s natural beauty.
Simeone (sp?) was an exceptional tour guide. Very pleasant, knowledgeable and personable. We booked the tour through Viator the morning of the tour however the information was never received by the tour company. When I called them 10 minutes after he was to meet us he was immediately apologetic and stated he would meet us right away and would look into the communication error. When he arrived minutes later he stated for some reason Viator hadn’t forwarded the reservation. He copied our verification and then took us on a wonderful tour of the city. He was very knowledgeable of the city’s history. This is a very worthwhile tour if you want to see the key sights in the city in a short amount of time. Highly recommend this tour.
Those who book this experience save themselves a lot of walking! Since I only had 2 days, it was exactly the right choice. The advantage was also that I was the only participant, which was absolutely fantastic. All the stops at many sights were beautiful, and the view of Florence from Piazzale Michelangelo was amazing! 👍💯 Overall, it was an interesting, historical tour that I can recommend to anyone who doesn't have much time or doesn't want to walk a lot. The inclines are not easy either! The driver and my tour guide were nice, explained everything well, and answered questions. Thank you very much.
The tour was cancelled a few hours before the start on short notice, referring to orders of the city of Florence - we were then asked to cancel - why actually us?
