We did multiple excursions and this was by far our favorite, Christy our guide was amazing. She made the experience very enjoyable with her deep knowledge of the Florence area, markets and cafe's. Her connection with the local merchants made us feel like we were getting behind the scenes look at actual Florence life not just through the tourists lens

Marco was wonderful. He was super knowledgeable about the area and took us to out of the way places with foods unique to Florence. We felt like locals . He also was very sweet and curated the tour perfectly for my mobility issues. Would highly recommend!!!
Wonderful experience! Loved all the local neighborhood stops! Highly recommend this food tour when visiting Florence!
It was more than what we expected. Walking the market, trying cheeses from local producers, trying new dishes and tasting some wines that were excellent it was an unforgettable experience. Danilo was very knowledgeable and all around a great guy!
Christy was amazing, and took us on exactly the type of “local” experience we were hoping to find. The food was incredible as was the wine tasting, and capping it off with delicious gelato was a perfect way to end it. Would do again in a heartbeat.
I just went to find Christy's tour information for a friend and realized that I never wrote a review. I've been on a bunch of food tours over the years and this was one of my favorites. Even in a city crowded with tourists like Florence, you get a sense of how the locals live and eat. Christy is lovely and the food was great. Overall it was a fabulous experience.
Danilo was an amazing tour guide. He tailored the tour to our interests and provided a relaxed atmosphere, perfect for our first day in Florence! He was so knowledgeable about the city and provided so many recommendations to visit for the remainder of our trip. (The food was exceptional, no need to eat breakfast!) Thank you, Danilo!
Our guide was Danilo who did a fantastic job of showing us some of the less touristy sides of Florence. He had a great relationship with the venues he took us to and it felt like a really special event. Danilo himself spoke excellent English, was knowledgeable (although it wasn’t a historical tour) and was super friendly. We learned lots and it definitely enriched our trip. We would definitely recommend him to friends. The tour wasn’t too long, in terms of distance. We made a slight mistake in walking to the start of the tour from our hotel, about an hour’s walk away, so we’re relieved not to be walking 20,000 steps across Florence.
Super fun, great food, wine and company. Our tour guide Tatiana was genuine, warm and kind. I’d recommend this tour to everyone - just super nice to walk around Florence and enjoy some fun conversation and local food/coffee/wine.
Christy was great, we really enjoyed the food tour. We booked for two and we were on our honeymoon. It was such a nice experience, food was amazing, coffee and wine too. Cristy shared lots of insightful information on Florence and took us to some places we certainly wouldn’t have found without her. Thank you for a wonderful tour. Highly recommend
We had a great food tour with Christy! She is a lovely person and seems to know all of the locals! Our kids had so much fun at the market! We enjoyed all of the tasting and would highly recommend this tour!
Christy was a fabulous guide for our food tour of Florence! She was thoughtful and knowledgeable and put together a wonderful tour that really highlighted the food of Florence and its people. Would definitely recommend using Christy for your trip!
We had a wonderful time with Christy. The food was well-paced and consistently delicious. The samples were small at each location, and all thoughtfully planned to showcase seasonal fruits and fresh ingredients. We appreciated the fact that we were not so stuffed that we could enjoy the food at each stop. We would absolutely do this again!
The guide was great. Very knowledgeable, pleasant and gave us a good insight into life in Florence from a local point of view. Was a casual pleasant walk around the old town. We weren’t very hungry so she adapted the tour to us quite well…but we could have done with more than 1 glass of wine however !
We were a group of 3 on this tour with Christy. We especially enjoyed her perspective as being raised in the U.S. but living in Italy for the past 10 years. She could communicate very naturally as both an American and a Native to Florence. The number of stops and variety of tastes made this tour very worthwhile, as well as the starting point near a fresh market just outside of the center of the city where you then proceed to walk toward the main center of Florence, made this an ideal tasting tour. We especially were impressed by the hidden gems like the sandwich shop and the wine cellar. I would highly recommend, especially as one of the first activities as a good orientation to the city.
Absolutely recommend this experience! It was a perfect way to spend the afternoon—plenty of delicious food and wine, thoughtfully curated and generously served—but what truly made it special was Christy. She brought so much heart to the experience, and it was clear how deeply connected she was to every spot we visited. Her relationships with the local vendors and her genuine love for Florence made the tour feel incredibly personal and memorable. More than just a tasting—it felt like being welcomed into her world. Don’t miss this one!
High quality, personable and fun! We saw new places, ate good food and went back to some of the local restaurants that were included on the tour.
Choosing a private food and wine was the best choice ever! Got to ask endless questions and learned more about the community from our guide than imaginable! This is how you vacation!!!
The tour was great! We've done food tours before and figured we'd enjoy this one, too, but it far exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed a LOT of food and everything was delicious, followed by a trip to an off-the-beaten-path wine cellar where we enjoyed a glass of white and a glass of red. I liked the white so much I ordered a case (never done that before). Plus, just hanging out with our tour guide, Christy, was fun. She was super knowledgable, relaxed, and easy to talk to. I spent hours looking for the just the right tour and I'm glad I did. Totally worth it.
My husband and I enjoyed learning about the city, culture and food on our very first day in Florence. Our time was well spent learning so much and tasting all the incredible offerings in Florence. Our guide was friendly, helpful and genuine.
We booked this tour on our Italian honeymoon. We had the pleasure of having Tatiana as our local guide and she was such a lovely person. We had such a great day with her and learnt so much. We have booked local private tours in all our stops and we couldn’t be happier. If you are thinking of booking this than don’t think twice. No regrets and you not only get great food and wine, but a friendship as well. Thanks so much Tatiana and until next time, Grazie!
Tatania was a great guide and did a wonderful job of showing us Florentine food from local vendors. The food was marvelous. It was so nice to get away from the crowds and see a local market.
Christy was a wonderful guide and definitely a local expert! She spoke excellent English and was very easy to understand. She took us to all local, mostly family owned businesses and local fresh markets. Would definitely recommend!
We had an enjoyable and tasty food tour with Christy. The food was great and Christy’s perspective on life in Florence was interesting. We have found that food tours are a nice way to get to know a city and this tour was the best!
Highly recommend. Christy was a superb guide and our tour was equally brilliant. It was fun for our entire family of six — including kids from 18 to 7yrs old. The variety of foods, the flavors, the walking tour of Florence and her fun, informative style all contributed to an experience everyone loved and none will forget. Thank you, Christy!
Tatiana was phenomenal! We had a great food tour with her! Highly recommend! Our whole family of six enjoyed it!
My wife and I were on our honeymoon and wanted a unique way to experience the streets of Florence. Christy was very knowledgeable about the city and she walked us to several cafes and markets that were a little outside of the very touristy areas which we appreciated. It was such a fun experience walking through the streets, chatting about Italian culture and stopping for delicious food and drinks along the way. Our stop at San Ambrogio Market was definitely a highlight, and Christy even took us to an additional wine shop towards the end of the tour and introduced us to the owner who ended up helping us ship wine back home. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique, private and delicious tour through Florence! Go on an empty stomach though because you’ll definitely get full with all the food you’ll eat along the way.
This is a great tour for your first day in Florence! Our guide was attentive, energetic, and very insightful as to the sites of Florence that we may miss without the help of a local. She was eager to ensure that we made the most of our time while in Florence, making lots of recommendations for restaurants, sites to visit, and foods/drinks to try while in town (she even wrote them down so we could reference them later). This would have been so helpful to have on the first day of travel, so you could refine your remaining visit based on her helpful input. We were leaving the next morning, so we missed out a bit on this opportunity, but we were able to fit in an extra bar and visit to Piazzale Michelangelo based on her recommendation! She clearly has a passion for the city (and Italy in general), which was contagious. In terms of the food/wine elements of the tour- I think there is some room to improve. I've taken numerous food tours and they all had FAR more food involved, and more interesting things that we would not otherwise have tried. On this tour, we found some of the food choices a bit boring- gelato, cappuccino, Italian cookies/biscuits (all things that we had already had REPEATEDLY and weren't particularly unique to Florence). A few of the other choices were great- Florence typical appetizer and truffle pork panini. The food element just didn't resonate with us. In terms of this being a "wine tour"- we had only one glass of wine at the end of the tour, which was disappointing. We ended up deciding to go to a wine tasting somewhere else so we could try more Tuscany wines. I will say, though, that the wine bar (and every other shop) she took us to was fantastic! Overall, we enjoyed this tour, in particular, for the insights our guide offered about life in Florence, which helped us gain a better appreciation for this lovely city. If you do decide to book (which I recommend!), you may just want to manage expectations about the food/wine elements, which are more limited than anticipated.
Tatiana started with an amazing market and took us through and gave us an introduction to typical florentine food. Moving onto walking tour with coffee, desserts, and so much more. The really great part was having a local give you a tour of there city and the bits of history in the tour too.
We had an exceptional experience with Christy. It was a delightful journey through the city's culinary treasures. We started the day with delicious pastries, sampling some of the finest Italian baked goods. From there, we walked through a local farmers' market with cheese tasting and Tuscan Coccoli. Later, delicious paninis were enjoyed as we listened to the history of Italian Poet Dante adjacent to his historical church. The wine tasting offered us the chance to savor some of Tuscany's best wines and learned about the 3 markings of a good Chianti! No tour would be complete without indulging in some gelato, and we found some of the creamiest and most flavorful scoops in the heart of Florence. Every bite and sip added to the richness of our experience, making it an unforgettable day.
Our family of 4 (two teenagers) had an amazing time with our energetic, friendly and knowledgeable guide. We were able to taste a wide range of local foods and drinks in a variety of venues. Such a fun way to learn and experience Florence.
My husband and I have done several walking food tours in numerous cities, but this one was special!!! The one on one experience with Tatiana was exceptional! She instantly made us feel comfortable, and we enjoyed three full hours getting to know her. We felt like great friends by the time we parted ways! The food choices were exceptional and filling, the sites warm and quaint, and the company was exquisite. This was truly the highlight of our trip here thus far, and recommend this experience hands down!!! THANK YOU Tatiana, you were a jewel! We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon with you.
Tatiana was absolutely amazing. So passionate about her work and very personable. Thank you so much for a memorable day.
Tatiana was an absolute gem. So much knowledge of Florence and the local food spots. This tour was the highlight of our 3 days in Florence. We made our way to Tatiana's recommendations over our last day. Tatiana was genuinely passionate about food and wanted to hear our stories. 100% recommend. Thank you Tatiana!!
My daughter and I spent a delightful afternoon with Christy, and it couldn’t have been better! Not only is Christy passionate about the food culture of her city, she is a fantastic communicator and was so easy to connect with. She was gracious and easy to talk with, and the places she took us were out of this world! My favorite parts were learning about and sampling coccoli in the local market, and the amazing panini at I Fratellini which might have been the best sandwich I’ve ever put in my mouth. Thank you, Christy! We will recommend you to all of our friends!
Christy did an awesome job! She’s very knowledgeable about the city and what it has to offer in food, wine and just helpful information. The wine room was sooo unbelievably cool! Food was delicious too! I would suggest this tour when first getting to Florence because it would be very helpful in introducing you to what the city has to offer.
Christie was the best friend to make in Florence. We were overwhelmed with all the touristy parts of the city. Christie showed us the hidden gems, the very best pastries, paninis, wine bar, gelato, and more. By far the best experience we had in Florence.
We had a fantastic time on our tour with Tatiana! She clearly loves food and where she lives and brought us to the places she usually goes, showed us other places to go and wrote us a list of everything we had, where we should go if we were looking for specific foods and drinks. She is very knowledgeable about the history and culture as well. We loved that it was just myself and my husband it felt very intimate and enjoyable. 100 percent suggest booking this tour
I was very fortunate to have Tatiana all to myself. She took me to many places for a variety of foods and a very good wine pairing. She was very engaging and honestly it felt like we were too old friends walking around Florence talking about our lives and stopping here and there for something to eat. They truly exceptional experience, especially as a solo traveler.
My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed this food walking tour. For us the highlights were visiting the Sant Ambrogio market and the wine bar. The market was less crowded and ''touristy'' than the central market, which we greatly appreciated. The wine bar and it's underground cellar were a great sight and the wines sampled were great. In addition to this, there were coffees, biscuits, sweets and a sandwich. Christy was friendly, knowledgeable and we would certainly recommend this tour to others.
It was an absolute pleasure spending the afternoon with Christy, walking around Florence, eating amazing local food and supporting small businesses. The samples were the perfect size at each of the places we stopped, with a nice blend of sweet and savory eats. I wish we could have a food tour with Christy in every European city!! Highly recommend, 10:10 ❤️
Our Florence food tour with Christy was such a great experience for our group of 5. Christy was so knowledgable and really tailored the tour to our group which included 2 picky tweens. She was very patient with us and altered the tour to make sure they could get the Italian pizza they were craving. She really felt like a friend and our kids said she was the favorite tour guide we had during our 9 night cruise and we had a lot. All if the stops offered a great taste of Florence along with a fun story. We really enjoyed our time with Christy
Had a great time with Christy and would higly recommend time with her in Florence. The tour was a great window into Florence cuisine. She took us to places we would have never come across and gave us insight into how the history of the city influenced the food. The tastings she chose we're excellent and we ended up going back later in our trip with other members of our family. After the tour Christy put together an email with some restaurant and shopping recommendations which we're very helpful. The fact she was from our home town (Rocheter, NY) was an unexpected 'small world' bonus. Any trip to Florence should have Christy as part of the itinerary.
My wife and I had a great time on a private tour with Christy, visiting and trying some new things that we likely would not have found or known to order by ourselves. She also gave us some great recommendations for the rest of our trip!
A wonderful tour!! Highly recommend and had the best time!! Got to see things in Florence I had never seen before. And had wonderful food tastings and history along the way!! ❤️❤️
Simply an amazing experience with Christy leading us through a culinary history of Florence and connecting to the wonderful citizens of the famous city. We booked on our Marriott app and it was an excellent way to spend the day! About 3 hours and multiple stops which all built to a wonderful crescendo in the end! It was in English and superbly guided.
I have been to Florence about 6 times so far and Christy made this time the most memorable. She showed my sister and I parts of this beautiful City that I had never seen before. I don’t know what I was expecting from this tour but it blew me away. I would 100% do it again, the experience and the people/food is was AMAZING. 10/10 recommend!!!
What a great day in the city with Christy! We had so many great things to eat! We already booked another day with her for a trip to the countryside!
Christy is a great host, and very knowledgable of Florence and the best local gems. We started the tour at 11am, a perfect time for some coffee and sweet treats, local olive oils. Then pastas and wine for lunch. I would recommend you eat light before the tour as there is a lot to try! Honestly it was the pasta was the best I have tried in Italy.
Great morning with guide while tasting foods from local and authentic shops. Guide knows many places and the people running those places. Guide answers your questions while feeding you! Fun tour.
