Visit a traditional Alimentari and savor authentic Tuscan flavors. Taste two varieties of Pecorino cheese and Finocchiona, a classic fennel-infused salami, showcasing the region’s artisanal produce.
Visit this historic pasticceria, now run by the third generation, a neighborhood staple that has endured floods, wars, and pandemics. Taste their cantucci biscotti, delicate millefoglie cake, and enjoy a freshly brewed coffee or cappuccino.
See Porta San Frediano, a historic gate that forms part of Florence’s medieval walls, dating back to 1333, a remarkable remnant of the city’s fortified past.
Stop at a local Florence street food stand and try the city’s iconic Lampredotto panino (cow stomach sandwich) – better than it sounds!
Discover Florence’s unique wine windows, small openings in historic buildings once used to serve wine directly to locals. Scattered throughout the neighborhood, they offer a fascinating glimpse into the city’s centuries-old culinary and social traditions.
Visit a historic Fiaschetteria in Oltrarno, serving locals since the 1950s. Learn about Tuscan cucina povera and taste Tuscan soup, wild boar stew, and a glass of Chianti Classico, served through an iconic wine window.
Explore this lively square and see the Church of Santo Spirito, home to a hidden gem: Michelangelo’s secret crucifix, a rare glimpse of the master’s work tucked inside this Renaissance church.
Stop at this award-winning gelateria, voted Florence’s Best Gelato. Learn to spot true artisanal gelato in a quick 10-minute crash course, then taste a 2-flavor cup or cone.

Ellie was unkind upon our arrival. She made a snarky comment about waiting for 15 minutes when we arrived on time at 5. She also made discriminatory remarks that made me feel uncomfortable and truly dis respectful. I did not feel welcomed the whole tour and left ASAP after gelato.
Our guide Ellie was unprofessional. She called out members of the group for being “late” even though still before the tour time. She also made a lot a racial “jokes” which were not funny, especially as a manager for the company. It was nice to see not so touristy spots, however the food was just okay. A menu should be shared before the experience to know what you are getting into as it was not as Italian as I thought. Also, the tour highlights a wine window, and we received an aperol spritz through the “wine” window.
What a great tour...we had a fantastic time and Elisa was an excellent guide. The pace was good, the food was great and the wine perfect
Elisa was friendly, knowledgeable & very well acquainted with and knowledgeable of the local businesses we visited and the products they served.
The Food and Wine tour in Florence was a fantastic experience and made extra special by our guide, Martina. Her personal relationship with the people in the neighborhood added so much to our experience. I highly recommend it!
Elisa was funny and entertaining. All of the stops were cute and authentic and I was very full by the end! It was a great experience seeing a different part of Florence.
Martino was so much fun! Super kind and knowledgeable about all of the fun local places to eat. I would definitely do a tour with him again.
Alice was great, knowledgeable and fun. Everything you would hope in a tour guide.
Alex was a wonderful guide! She was personable, entertaining, and knowledgeable - exactly the right person to lead this tour. Alex knew the neighborhood and the best places for everything. It was interesting to hear about her experiences growing up in the area and how she developed her love of local cuisine. This was our second food tour with Eating Europe, and we highly recommend these tours!
Kiara is the best. We particularly enjoyed the gelato
Kiara was AMAZING!! She is a fantastic, knowledgeable guide. Book with her.
I went on the food tour for my wife and I’s honeymoon. Elisa was our tour guide and she was excellent. Very positive energy and her historic explanation of all the local foods was fantastic.
Food choices were good. It was a hot day so I kept ducking into places that had air conditioning so I didn’t pay attention to the guide as well as I should have.
Antonelli was very warm, engaged, and knowledgeable. She had very unique, interesting facts to share that were not what you would normally hear on most tours. She perfectly blended interesting historical information with local current knowledge (given she’s lived in Florence for 10+ years) and it was a really great experience overall. And the food was amazing! Great blend of Italian specialties with very different flavor profiles.
Awesome experience, great food and drink with our excellent and very knowledgeable guide Antonella.
Antonella was fantastic. Great tour.
We went on a tour with Catarina for Eating Europe on the southern side of the Arno river around the area of the Piazzo Santo Spirito. It was a fantastic experience, and Catarina was extremely knowledgeable, engaging, fun, and personable. The tour took us through multiple local restaurants and discussed the local cuisine, including the history of the food in the region and local producers. It was so informative and absolutely worth the cost. I want to do a walking food tour like this for every new city I visit. The tour was ~3 hours and it flew by; I had a great time with the other guests and especially chatting with Catarina. The atmosphere was jovial and relaxed, but also serious about the food. I would do this again in a heartbeat, and actually some of the guests said that this was their second time doing the tour they had enjoyed it so much.
We had the best time! Serena was lovely, informative and funny, too. Local small restaurant t owners treated us to very special tastes of Florence throughout. A wonderful tour!
Antonella was great. Omg. She was adorable. And the food? DELICIOUS! She made the tour so much fun. Like a trusted family friend guiding us around.
Tina was amazing! Great food, great wine and great stories! A must book for your trip to Florence and make sure to come hungry!
Elisa was incredible and made the tour so much fun!
Eli is an amazing guide, she is incredibly funny and such a good time. Food was amazing too, we are glad we did this!
Elisa was a great host, very knowledgeable and energetic about Florence. We visited places we wouldn’t have found on our own. Great time!
Amazing guide, Elisa was lovely, fun and energetic. All of what we tried was delicious! And more local food than you’d usually get!
I did the morning mercato centrale tour and it is well worth the money! My guid Tina is a Firenze local and was super sweet, informative and even came and found me in the Mercato when I was running late and helped me rejoin with the group. I have a severe nut allergy and I am vegetarian and they had no problem accommodating me. I studied abroad in Florence 10 years ago and can verify that all the food and wine are authentic. Love the tour and can't wait to do it again the next time I'm in Florence.
Fantastic experience! We learned a lot about the local food cultures, hidden gems. Our guide, Elisa, was very energetic, knowledgeable. Highly recommend this tour.
Tina was amazing! Fantastic stops and very traditional food
Martina was an absolute delight. She gave an amazing tour filled with fun facts, history, and an amazingly detailed description of all the food and (especially) the wine that we enjoyed. I highly recommend booking a tour with her if you plan on visiting.
Giuseppe was awesome! Great Florence history of the wine, food in older part of Florence was very interesting.
Elisa was fun and very knowledgeable of history and culture of each of locations and tastings! The food was excellent and paired with many different wines. The local insights and connections made each experience special.
Our tour guide Eva was amazing. Her knowledge of both local and regional food and wine is exceptional. We loved the wine cellar, wine window, king of cheese, the nudie raviolis! Capping off the tour with gelato was great. Highly recommend this tour.
Elisa was absolutely incredible!! She was so sweet and had lots of fun facts. We had the best time and left happy and full!!
Such an amazing tour! Martina was the best!!
Elisa was a wonderful guide! She told interesting stories as she guided us through the streets of Florence and made sure we were treated to the best drinks and food! I’ve been on food tours before in Paris and New York, and this one was by far the best! I highly, highly recommend it.
Fabulous experience. You could see how much planning and work our amazing guide Martino put into oir tour. It's clear he loves what he does and it translated to all of us during the tour. I highly reccomend this tour and specifically Martino as your guide.
Tina is amazing. Highly recommended!!!
Natalie was wonderful and very knowledgeable. She made the evening fun and educational
Tina was amazing. Loved the food and people. The shop owners were very accommodating. Best tour during this visit.
Booked this tour on our first day in Florence. Fabulous introduction to the city and food. Elisa was stupendous. Such a lovely, fun loving, knowledgeable guide. Felt like seeing the sites with a best friend!
Tina was absolute AMAZING! I couldn’t recommend this tour more to anyone else. We had such an amazing time. If we come back, we’re going back to enjoy the wine, cheese, and food of Florence again!!
Excellent food and wine. Martina was a great guide, providing history and local context for everything we tried. Highly recommended!
Tina was the best, we had a phenomenal experience and got to learn all about local food, wine, and culture! Highly recommend!
It was a very good experience. Serena was very knowledgeable about Florence! We visited interesting stops and Serena had a good rapport with the sites people! We were given a lot of drink and food! We felt like we were apart of the neighborhood and Serena was a joy!!
We really enjoyed the food and wine tour. Martini was excellent and shared many details and history of the food, wine and Florence.
Tima is great tour guide. Awesome tour. Would highly recommended.
Tina was an absolutely amazing host. You will explore an area Florence that you would most likely not get the chance to explore. It was a wonderful opportunity to visit generationally run family businesses and learn so much about the culture and food of Tuscany.
Had Tina and had a great time! Much food for the money and more than enough of wine+drink
Martino was awesome!!! Extremely knowledgeable and the food was so good! Do it!
Our guide Martino was quite knowledgeable and we essentially had a private tour with outstanding selections of cheese, lampredotto, pastries, and wine with lovely food selections. A nicely paced food tour with five stops, a couple of bathroom breaks, and opportunities to sit and savor. Enjoyed the history of the area, which gave some perspective to our experience. We’ve done food tours before, and this was quite good.
