Itinerary
Begin your foodie adventure in Piazza della Signoria, one of the best piazzas in Florence. Widely known as an outdoor art gallery, Piazza della Signoria is home to many sculptures and art vendors. Here, you will be able to spot Palazzo Vecchio, a beautiful palace dating back to the time of the Medici family. You can also spot a copy of Michelangelo’s David here. Your guide will introduce you to the Florence foodie scene, and off you go.
Wander to a traditional buchetta del vino, "wine window" believed to be one of Florence’s oldest. Enjoy a glass of Tuscan wine and a crunchy tarallo as your guide shares stories of Renaissance-era merchants and quirky Florentine traditions.
Next, settle into a cozy enoteca (wine shop) with a kitchen for a variety of Tuscan flavors. Enjoy Prosciutto, salami, two cheeses, tomato bruschetta, classic thick tomato soup known as pappa al pomodoro, and two different paccheri pasta dishes one with yellow tomato sauce and the other with classic tomato sauce. Then indulge in a tasting selection of Orange mustard, balsamic vinegar, and olive oil. These tastings are paired with a locally sourced wine for the full Tuscan experience.
On your way to the next stop, cross the iconic Ponte Vecchio. This bridge is the oldest in Florence and famous for the quirky shops built right into its sides.
Then it’s time for the star of the night. Sit down for a generous serving of Florentine steak, crisp on the outside and ruby-red inside, just as locals prefer. With roasted potatoes and a bold Tuscan red wine, this is a true Florentine feast.
Your final stop is a beloved gelateria in the artsy Santo Spirito neighborhood. Savor a scoop (or two) of the city’s creamiest gelato as your guide shares final tips for exploring Florence’s food scene on your own.
Once dessert wraps up, the guided portion concludes. You’re free to linger in the lively square, enjoy another drink, or make your way back across the river at your own pace.

Our guide, Lorenzo, is articulate, informative and charming. Very much enjoyed his engaging banter. The food was a costar and an excellent representation of what dishes are staples in Florence and why. The journey navigated a pleasant cross-section of historic Florence. I learned the classic Chianti has a rooster as its icon. It’s strong and perhaps “ cockadoodledoo” is an expression that captures that essence…. after several nice glasses of wine. Highly recommended!
Excellent intro and insight into culinary world of Tuscany and Florence. Tour guide was special and connected personally.
Definitely worth the price. Delicious food and fun people.
Lovely setting great food Loved it all Set in a lovely square that seemed less touristy it began to rain and they had great umbrellas to keep us dry There was luce music later on
The host was knowledgeable. The food itself was not memorable. Bland and minimal portions. The gelato shop was a chain, not what I expected from a food tour
The guide is fantastic but the food was average. The steak which is the big draw was not a very good piece of meat.
This is a super evening, a full 3 1/2 hours long which starts at a wine window before moving onto a wonderful little local food place for 2 wines and charcuterie along with a taste of 2 pasta and a local dish. My husband and I actually returned here for lunch a couple of days later as the food was so good. We then moved over the river and after a 15 min walk arrived at another locals restaurant for the tuscany steak and potatoes. Oh my word! It was delicious. Plus lots more wine. We ended at a proper gelato place round the corner with proper gelato (not the air filled, preservatives, etc filled gelato piled up in all the tourist areas). Heaven! Shireen was our guide who was informative, kind and worked her socks off in the first eatery to make sure we all got what we needed. She did a very good job! Highly recommended.
Julia gave us an incredible tour that went well beyond food and wine, sharing fascinating history about Florence and the surrounding Tuscany region. All four stops were fantastic, and as a first-time visitor, I never would have known where to go or what to order on my own. Julia’s passion for sharing her knowledge really stood out, and the tour moved at a perfect pace. The biggest highlight was the Florentine steak, a first for me and most of our group, and a truly memorable experience. All the food was excellent, the wine pours were generous, and the entire experience exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend booking a tour with Julia over the other options in Florence!
So much fun!! Fabio was a fantastic guide! The group was small and friendly! Learned about wine windows and the Florentine steak was delicious!
Rocco was a fantastic guide. Funny, knowledgeable and gracious. I would recommend you get on his trips.
Fabio was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable, and a delight to be with. Highly recommend for an evening walk around Florence, taking in the city life and wonderful food.
The food was delicious and the tour was great. Fabio is a wonderful guide and I highly recommend him
Our guide was awesome. He really knew his stuff. He also mixed in humor, which has always nice.
We had delicious wine and food. Our guide Tula was fantastic. Florentine steak and potatoes were a standout.
We had such an amazing experience with Tula on this tour. The food and conversation among the group were wonderful. Highly recommend you come hungry!
Tula was wonderful!!!! Such a wonderful experience
It was great learning about the food culture in Florence. Francesco our guide was extremely knowledgeable. Enjoyed the tour!
Gregorio was great - wonderful way to spend our first evening in Florence
Fantastic food tour with Julia! She was friendly, knowledgeable and took us to some great spots to enjoy authentic Florentine food. A fun, delicious way to discover local flavours and culture. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Florence!
The tour was excellent good mix of people who were amazing to talk to and the guide Fabio was very knowledgeable and kept the group focused and entertained as moved from place to place
Marco was the best He was very informative knowledgeable and a great sense of humor plus he was enthusiastic It was like being with a friend experiencing the food not a tour guide I recommend him highly
Great evening. Luckily everybody was English speaking so we all had great conversations. Marco was an excellent host. Very easy to listen to and very funny. He was also very considerate of a lady who had trouble walking and arranged taxis for her. We would do this again. The food was good and plentiful and generous with the wine
We had a fantastic time on Julia’s food tour in Florence! She was warm, friendly and knowledgeable, taking us to some great spots to experience the local food and flavours of Tuscany. It was a brilliant way to discover authentic Italian food, learn more about the local culture and explore parts of Florence we might not have found on our own. Julia made the whole experience fun, relaxed and personal, and the food was delicious! If you’re visiting Florence and want to experience more than just the usual tourist spots, we’d highly recommend booking a tour with Julia. A highlight of our trip!
Our tour guide Julia was amazing. Best tour guide. The whole experience was amazing so thank you
Julia was very knowledgeable. Great information and experience. Would go on another tour
Amazing guide. Excellent food and cultural information. Great size group for the tour. A perfect experience.
Excellent guide with a good mixture of food and wine. The steak was really nice and the people of the tour was a mix from all around the world so much chatter and our guide was excellent and giving us good information
Our guide, Marco was the best guide I have had in quite some time. He is personable, knowledgeable with a great sense of humor. He brings each member of the tour into the group and allows people the time and opportunity to get to know one another. The wine and snacks and of course the steak were top-notch, but I really think what stood out for me in this tour was our guide Marco.
Great tour. Lorenzo was a great guide, very entertaining and informative. Made a great effort to remember everyone’s name! Main reason for doing this tour is obviously the steak and it did not disappoint. Wine and gelato also great!
Marco was amazing. The food, wine, and stories were excellent. I would do this tour again!!
I wish I could give more than 5 stars for the value and the guide. Both were far and above 5 stars. Just the Florentine steak at Trattoria Sabatino was worth more than 5 stars. Marco was what made the tour, just enough humor and personal connection but very professional. It seemed like we covered a lot of ground but it never felt rushed. One person in our group rated this tour with our favorite tour and guide in Athens which is huge. I would highly recommend this tour and if you can, request Marco, you will enjoy yourself.
This walking tour of Florence was great. From the food, the wine, and the company- well worth it! And Ricardo was a fantastic guide, highly recommend this tour if you’re visiting Florence!
What a fantastic way to spend an evening in Florence! As a solo traveller, I especially appreciated the opportunity to meet and spend time with other English-speaking travellers from various places. It was such a fun and welcoming experience! Our guide, Marco, was absolutely wonderful! He was incredibly knowledgeable, funny, personable, and had us laughing throughout the evening. He shared fascinating stories about Florence’s history, local traditions, and culture, along with excellent recommendations for places to visit and things to try while in Florence. Every single food stop was delicious, and I loved that we got to experience the local cuisine while learning the stories behind it. The combination of amazing food, interesting history, great company, and Marco’s fantastic sense of humour made this one of the highlights of my time in Florence. I would highly recommend this tour, especially to solo travellers looking for a fun and memorable evening. Thank you, Marco, for such a wonderful experience!
Fun night going to 4 different restaurants. Group was fun and the food was very good. We especially enjoyed the steak and the gelato!
It was a great evening and lasted 3.5 -4 hours. That could be due to great conversation amongst everyone including our Great tour guide Lorenzo. Wine was great and I am not typically a wine guy unless it is sweet but something about wine in Italy just tastes better and according to Lorenzo, his belief is because of the rich soil. Steak was awesome and the potatoes were just as great. Finished the night with two scoops of gelato one was orange zest and was amazing. If I was planning a trip to Florence, I would for sure book this tour for a fun evening!!!
We loved our tour today. Our guide was absolutely lovely. We can highly recommend the tour and Victoria.
Nice walk thru the city. The steak and gelato was worth the walk. Glad we got to get Florentine steak thru a tour like this. Many local tips shared and used through our stay.
Tour guide was very knowledgeable about Italian cuisine. We learned a lot about how to look for good pasta and gelato. The food was great and we were super full when we were done. Great experience.
Plenty of food. Steak was excellent. Steak is served Rare to Medium rare. Walking tour was cool. Walking on a lot of uneven pavement. Wine Window was a new experience
Victoria was a lovely and friendly guide! And the food was just right and fabulous too! Would highly recommend.
We had so much fun in this tour! Stop 1 - wine window - we don’t drink alcohol so I had juice and my husband had a coke. The others in the group had a choice of 3 different wines. Stop 2 - meat, cheese, tomato soup with pureed bread, bruschetta, bread and pasta Stop 3 - Florentine steak and roasted potatoes Stop 4 - choice of 2 different gelato flavors. Louisa did an amazing job of teaching us about wine, balsamic vinegar, olive oil and the recipes for what we were eating. We stopped frequently along the route for her to show us interesting aspects and features of the city. She is highly knowledgeable, likable and friendly. Overall we walked about 2 miles.
This is an excellent tour with well balanced food offer and accompanying commentary specific to the food AND points of interest along the way. A fair bit of walking, (maybe 1.5km total) but all flat and manageable.
A,though the food was delicious I wouldn’t recommend this tour because of our guide. Firstly she was a trainee who believed she needed to give us a history lesson wherever we were. She explained she didn’t agree with the company’s rules to keep this information out of the tour. So we heard all the information we already learned on our morning tour. And since we don’t drink wine she proceeded to tell us to give our glass to the other people on the tour. Very unprofessional.
This immersive food experience provided not only a sampling of food, wine, and Gelato, we also received an education in Florentine food. Our guide, Francesco (a chef), also shared helpful tips on high quality pasta, how the florentine steak is cooked, and the do and don't when choosing a restaurant to dine at. We found the Tour Guy company on YouTube videos and they did not disappoint.
Great experience and great food. Guide was wonderful and we met a variety of people from different places.
Victoria was very knowledgeable and patient. We ate marvelous food and enjoyed local wines.
Shirin was great !!! Thank you so much
He was excellent very knowledgeable, gave her all the extras from the food to life as as an Italian xxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxx. C xxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Very fun. Perfect portions of tastes, and lots of bistecca fiorentina!! Ilaria was the perfect host, where we learned about the food of the region, types of wine, why bistecca fiorentina is cooked so rare, and amazing gelato.
