Incorrect description on how to find tour guide at the Duomo so took us very long before we finally located her. We were told she will be wearing white with a “my tour” logo on it and have some sort of green fabric with her. She had none of those. Found out that 2 others couples in our group also had the same issue. We purchased the English tour, her English was hard to understand and her facts were inaccurate and not succinct. She did not keep it interesting for everyone. And we had other issues during the tour which delayed the tour as well.
It was cancelled with no notice. We have not been contacted for a reschedule or a refund. Horrible customer service.
Well this was a complete disappointment for our group. First could not find our guide. No flag no special sign of the company. Had to speak with the control center that patched me through to the guide to find our check in location. Glad it was only the three of us. Very hard to understand. It was for a tour of the complete duomo including baptistery. She excused herself at the end of the duomo and we never got to see the baptistery at all . We tried to enter and was told that our guide need to be with us to enter. I will be asking for a refund on this tour. Maybe with a better guide this would have been great.
Tour? What a joke. Booked this several months ago. Tour company didn’t show up and we never received a cancellation or change notification. Had to purchase individual tickets for each attraction, wait in long lines, change our afternoon plans, and now seek a refund. I’d rate this zero stars if that was an option. Also, two of my other bookings with Viator had issues on this trip too. Now I’ll be nervous for remaining tours.
The guide did not have a flag only information we received was that she was blonde and had a green lanyard. There were thousands of people there and the phone operator was extremely unhelpful. We walked past the guide several times before finding her just before the tour started. Other guides had flags or lollipop signs.
Thorough full of information. Answered all questions completely. Went play our pace. Stopped when we needed to sit and rest. A great experience
Worst experience ever. Viator tickets and directions said to meet our guide at 10:15. We were in the meeting place at 10:00. We called the tour guide to ask where the guide was and were told that the tour started at 9:45. Viator refuses to refund our money as the tour happened at 9:45 as the tour company scheduled. Viator’s fault completely but they refuse to honor the commitment.
This was a very good tour with a knowledgeable and friendly guide. Sometimes seemed repetitious but she knew what she was doing and we understood what we needed to about the Duomo complex by the end. We highly recommend this tour.
I purchased the audio tour which did not work at all. Other tourists were also having a problem with getting internet service inside the Duomo. The tour company offered to give me a partial refund but still I was left without a tour and it was too late to book a live tour guide. Having a tour guide would have made the visit much more meaningful for me.
The guide was friendly and well-meaning, and seemed knowledgeable, but we found her English a bit difficult understand. Usually we can pick up on speech patterns and pronunciations of guides who are not native-English speakers within a few minutes, but that never quite happened here. The guide took a high number of cell phone calls during the tour as well, which became annoying. Also, the ceiling of the Bapistery was covered for renovations, so there as not much to see there. And too, the last part of the tour, when in the museum, seemed unusually rushed.
Our only issue with this guide is that, although she was charming and knowledgable, she was a bit soft spoken and spoke very quickly with a pronounced accent making it difficult to understand her message at times. Plus the tour was billed as skip the line, we had to wait in the hot sun (hot day in Rome) to get in to the Duomo that day. Otherwise a good experience and a very pleasant and informative guide.
Guide was super fast talking and hard to understand. Tour ended earlier than it was supposed to end. Also, guides should know that to get into certain parts of the tour, ladies need to have knees and shoulders covered. This should have been communicated in the booking details, or at the very least by the guide before we started. Not worth the money this costed.
We arrived early for our tour, looking for a green shirt and sign saying “my tour”. our tour guide was not labeled and did not carry a flag so it was difficult to find the short woman in the crowd. We stood for 40 minutes in the sun, despite having skip the line.. our guide talked rapidly with a heavy Italian accent, so we could hardly understand. I requested she slow down, but that didn’t happen.. we saw the beautiful church for 15 minutes. The others in our group departed at this point because they did not pay for the tour of the museum and baptistery. Archer guide took us at the museum and was knowledgeable and informative about the museum. she told us the baptistery was under construction, and that she would leave us now. later on, we went back to the baptistery, which was open and looked at it ourselves were disappointed not to have a tour and requested a refund, but was denied.. tickets for a tour of the baptistery should not be sold at this time since it is under construction.
We booked this tour thinking we would be part of a small group but the group was large and we had to use headsets which would not have been our first choice. Our guide tries her best to manage the group and the crowds around the Duomo complex. She was amazing when we toured the Duomo museum as a break off later on. If we booked this again we would clarify the size of the group, try to time it for a less busy time and understand this is not quite a “skip the line” tour.
This interesting tour was taken on March 27, 2023. Our guide Valentina was excellent. She was more than happy to share her vast knowledge with our group. I would not mind to take another tour with Valentina because I consider her as one of the best guides. Thank you, Valentina. On the other hand, there was a big disappointment. The Baptistery is under reconstruction, so a visit inside the Baptistery should not even been offered. That is why I gave only 3 (three) stars. Otherwise it was very informative tour.
This was such a wonderful experience. Our whole family was able to enjoy the tour. Our guide was patient and understanding of even the needs of our little travelers, who are six and four as well as our teens, ages 13 and 15. We are so happy we took this guided tour!
It was a very nice tour. Just me and another couple. Very thorough. Guide was very nice & very informative
Emanuela, the tour guide, was very good. The reason I gave it 3 stars and would not recommend this tour is because it did NOT include a tour of the baptistery, which was the main reason we chose it. The baptistery is closed for restoration. Perhaps this tour should not be offered until it reopens
Guide very informative and knowledgable furing the whole tour Beautiful cathedral that u would miss to much going on your own
Tour leader went very quickly and difficult to understand for English speaking tour program. She could have provided more detail about the social dynamics of that time period in relationship to the Church.
I enjoyed seeing the art works i had researched on my own. Our guide seemed to believe that we had no previous knowledge or interest.
Pur guide was enthusiastic, professional, and extraordinarily knowledgeable. I hope she is recognized for the outstanding work she does.
The guide was a lady with a lot of knowledge and a good sense of humor. We enjoyed the tour very much!
Poor service. We had Saturday, February 14th the guided tour of the Duomo complex and we showed up at the meeting place at 9:00 am as scheduled, because the visit was to start at 9:15 am. At the time of the appointment we called the reference phone of MyTour telling us to move to the queue of daily admissions because the intermediary of MyTour was there waiting for the guides. We showed our ticket to the My Tour operator who confirmed that we were in the right place. The Italian-language guide only showed up at 9:45, the time the tour started outside the Duomo. At the opening of the Duomo (10 am) we entered the church where the tour lasted an hour. Then the guide escorted us out and greeted us. Despite having a voucher that stated a duration of 2.5 hours with a visit to the Duomo, the Baptistery and the Opera Museum, we stayed in the rain for a long time before and after the tour carried out, in a vain attempt to figure out what to do. We're still waiting for a refund of what we paid.
The guide was very professional, kind and prepared. He started the tour with great enthusiasm, explaining everything in detail and engaging. However, due to the long lines, it was not possible to complete the entire planned itinerary. I specify that it was not the fault of the guide, but of the organization, which should guarantee its collaborators the time necessary to complete the tour as described in the offer, regardless of expectations. I do not find it correct to pay for an experience that did not end as promised. I therefore ask for a full refund, because the service received does not correspond to what was purchased. The organization must plan better and comply with what is advertised.
Buena en el museo, pero escasa información en el baptisterio. Me hubiese gustado algo más de información histórica y artística
Buon tour e buona guida.
Great tour that I recommend to anyone. Special thanks to Valentina, guide as well as expert, very kind and helpful. Fantastic tour that I recommend to everyone. A special thanks to Valentina, an expert, kind and helpful guide.
Special thanks to Emanuela Alercia... our guide .... when the passion for art and love for the.city of Florence meet professionalism, kindness and sympathy, the tour acquires a beautiful memory... very good!
Punctual and kind tour operator. We had a nice ride and knew many curiosities. Thank you Maria Paola G.
After 30 minutes waiting at the front door of the Duomo. The guide did not become visible until 10 minutes after the scheduled time. They do not specify in the contracted part that you see half a cathedral and that the dome shows you the guide in a book because there is no possibility to see it from below. Painful. It's a shy for the excessive price it is. The guide although pleasant and courteous your knowledge leave much to be desired. Painful. An undesirable view
Very interesting visit, the guide was clear and helpful. Thank you Enrica for the experience you made us live. Margherita, Fabrizio, Samuel and Simon
