We booked this as the title of Timed Entry would seem to mean that we wouldn’t have to join the long queue. Infact we still had to queue just with a guide who didn’t seem to know very much about the Duomo beyond that it was made of marble and where we could buy tickets for the paid for options

Be prepared for a wait before going into the cathedral as the queue can be long but with Julio with his knowledge and effervescent personality it makes it a great time
Very informative guide. Knew all the history of the building of the duomo and the domes interior. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaas
Timed entry was very good and organisation of the audio equipment was quick and well done. The guide was extremely knowledgeable. The guide was a little repetitive in the information and held us in one spot for too long with too much detail. iPad images she shared were good.
Being new to Florence, the meeting point was hard to find. I asked for help from pedestrians and from guides that were outside the Duomo, but no one could tell me where to meet so I completely missed the experience.
Overall this was ok but the guides english was not great. The meeting point was fine but I was not told either by the info on the booking confirmation or by the people at the meeting point or by our guide that bare shoulders were not allowed in the Duomo which led to being refused entry without either getting scammed by traders of shawls or leaving the guided tour to go to the Duomo shop to buy a paper shoulder covering from a vending machine- I chose the latter while my husband waited for me ….. we eventually met up with our guided group inside but had obviously missed a lot of information….. we should have been made aware of this need before it became a problem hence why I’m mentioning it here …..
Unable to use the ticket due to long queue. Timed entry did not work due to amount of people waiting Disappointing
We didn't lose a big part of the afternoon waiting around. The scheduled entry helped us plan the rest of our sightseeing, and the audio guide made the actual visit more informative.
Lined up for an hour outside before we eventually left without bothering to even enter Guide was super boring trying to kill time as most on the tour were pretty frustrated
Laura, our host/Guide who was born in Florence, provided us with personal stories as well as accurate accounting of the Duomo. Loved her spirit.
The day we booked a 9:40 tour the monument was closed until 10:15. We didn’t have an extra 35 min to wait around unfortunately so we could not complete the tour. When I applied for a refund the hosts informed us this wasn’t a “skip the line” experience, which isn’t really relevant to advertising and selling tickets to a monument while it’s closed ☠️ don’t think you can rely on the company to pick a time when the monument is actually open I guess? Wildly unhelpful when we reached out and just kept repeating they were at the monument when advertised.
Informative guide that explains the architecture and history while your in the queue and in the cathedral. You can just queue to get in without this but you miss out on some of the history of the design
This experience is not with an audio guide but a human guide. Ours was excellent - she made the experience for us all sharing a wide variety of facts about the Duomo that kept everyone interested, even as we queued to enter. The whole visit took about 1 hour which was perfect. Note: Be aware that this ticket does not cover entry to the dome - some members of our group were disappointed by that misunderstanding.
We found this tour to be of good value. Visiting the cathedral is free but we were glad to have the option from this tour to skip the line and have an informative tour guide. We picked the 3:15 time slot, which was the last time selection of the day. You still have to wait in line but it was maybe a five minute wait for us, which was much appreciated given the heat on an August afternoon. Our tour guide was very informative and managed the group well. Highly recommend this short tour!
Patricia was a delight and led our tour with a sense of warmth and dignity. Her knowledge of the Duomo is extensive and she shares the information in an engaging way that encourages you to participate and learn. Her passion and evident are pride and clearly well earned. She struck as a genuinely caring person with a strong sense of pride for being a true Florentine. A fantastic guide. A+++. Her vast font of historical knowledge and sense of humor gave us a top notch experience. Highly, highly recommend!!! We were extraordinary fortunate to have her be our guide.
Booked the 10am tour and joined others that had booked our tour times from 9am. The cathedral didn’t actually open until 10.15 so seems a little pointless to allow bookings much before 10. We joined the queue at around 10 having met the guide at 9.30. We got into the duomo around 10.45. The guide spoke about the history of Florence as well as facts about the duomo which were really interestjng.
The description was "Florence Duomo Cathedral Timed Entry with Audio Guide." I assumed "Timed Entry" meant that we would enter the Cathedral at the time I selected; however this was not the case as we were required to wait in line with those who chose not to pay (entrance to the cathedral is free). The guide provided interesting context and history, which we appreciated.
Great tour at a very reasonable price! The itinerary was well planned, informative, and enjoyable from start to finish. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the experience engaging. Everything was well organized, making it a smooth and memorable tour. Highly recommended!
You do still have to join the line, but we had really great commentary from our guide Patricia during the 30 mins before we got inside. The commentary was interesting, informative and comprehensive. Once inside Patricia pointed out lots of things we would have missed had we just done the Duomo visit ourselves and we were very happy we had chosen the tour. It was very good value for money, if like us, the extras add ons did not feel necessary this visit. Thank you Patricia!
Julio was a multi lingual very informative & entertaining guide. Very interesting tour throughout. Good to learn the history of the Baptistry and construction of the main cathedral.
Our guide was not friendly and difficult to understand. The Duomo itself was beautiful and worth a visit.
This app said that our ticket included the walk all the way up to the Duomo and the panoramic view. It says so in the part what to expect from our tour. When we waited in line for over an hour we found out it did not & they were sold out of the tour, I’m very annoyed and upset as I was very much looking forward to this as one of the highlights of our trip. You need to give your customers the correct accurate information. It was very misleading! I’m upset to say the least.
The sheer scale of the Duomo makes you feel tiny, yet deeply connected to the past. This ticket made the entry effortless, leaving all my energy for absorbing the beauty inside.A perfectly organized visit to a timeless wonder.
Nobody was at ticket pick up point to collect tickets so we couldn’t do the experience booked and waiting for refund
It's a really great way to get into the Duomo with the timed entrance and no stress on waiting and not getting in. Our guide was wonderful and I'm so glad we toured with her and not by ourselves.
This was a great way to enjoy the Duomo! Our guide was very knowledgeable and pointed out many things we would never have known without her. For anyone doing the tour - you can get bottled water at the chocolate store before the tour as it did get hot when we were lining up to go in.
Standing under that iconic dome was a dream come true. The organization was excellent, the staff was helpful, and the audio guide really helped us appreciate the immense history of Florence. Truly wonderful.
Don't just admire it from the pavement! Going inside is essential. The logistics of the ticket were seamless, and the audio tour beautifully connects the art with the history of Tuscany.
The guide was very engaging and informative. The pace of the entry was a little slow despite it being a booked entry, however the experience inside was worth the wait.
The tour was Informative and entertaining in all areas of the church and gave depth to the history that would be lost without the tour.
Thought I was buying a timed entry ticket to the Duomo cathedral - to clarify, a ticket with the time I would be entering the cathedral, hence having to meet 15 mins before to have tickets validated, but this was not the case. The guides were late to the meeting point, no problem we thought, they’ve done this before, I guess they have some leeway but when everyone was present we then had to queue with everyone else to get in which took over an hour, this was not what we were expecting at all, we spent longer in the queue than we did with the guide inside. The cathedral is well worth a visit, it’s beautiful, the guide was informative if a little brusque on occasion and we have used Viator before with no issues but I do think the title is misleading, only reason I didn’t give 2 stars was due to the lovely couple we chatted with in the queue who were great company and equally as perplexed as us when we realised what was happening!
A great way to see the Duomo and develop a better understanding of the amazing art. We had a 1/2 hour to 45 minute delay getting in, but our guide had an I-pad with visuals, which she talked about while we were waiting. We also got to know people in our group, which was a nice bonus.
Our guide was very informative . the ceiling of the dome is amazing! We had another commitment so we did not go down to the crypt. Perhaps next time!
Loved the guide, Emmanuela- she was very knowledgeable, funny, and calm. We weren’t expecting half the information to come as we waited in line - it was a good use of the time but we thought we would get in the building at the start time rather than wait for 45 minutes. The tour inside the church was actually very short. We did learn a lot and are happy we went but felt the price should have delivered more value.
This is a must see attraction when visiting Florence. It was worth having g a guide to explain the history behind the exterior and interior - it’s beautiful!
It states in the overview that it includes the basement and the dome walk, it doesn't. It is just an audio tour not self paced you get a tour guide. You spend half your time in line. You have to find the meeting place across from Lindt chocolate to redeem your voucher.
Everything was smooth from start to finish. We appreciated the clear instructions and timed entry system. The audio guide made it easy to explore at our own pace while learning about the Duomo’s history.
Francesco truly made our Duomo visit smooth and memorable. From the start, everything felt well-organized, and the timed entry helped us avoid long waits, which was a huge plus. The audio guide was detailed and easy to follow, giving us a deeper understanding of the cathedral’s history and architecture. By the end of the tour, we had a whole new level of appreciation for this incredible landmark. Highly recommended experience!
Although there was a bit of a wait in line to get in at the designated time, the overall experience was quite enjoyable. Once inside, everything ran smoothly and efficiently. The tour guide was the real difference maker—he was fun, engaging, and full of interesting information that kept everyone engaged. His storytelling brought the place to life, making the trip worthwhile despite the initial wait.
The cathedral inside is not as grand as the outside. The tour was informative and the guide was knowledgeable
Francesco made exploring the Duomo simple and enjoyable. The audio guide was quite educational, and the timed entry saved time. left with a greater respect for the cathedral
Julio was great. Very informative and definitely worth booking!
Paolo’s tour was both educational and enjoyable. The audio guide highlighted the cathedral’s history and art in a fun way. A truly memorable visit—worth every minute!
Manuala’s audio guide brought the cathedral to life. We noticed so many details we would have missed on our own. Timed entry made it smooth and stress-free. Loved the experience!
Jolio made our Duomo visit amazing! The audio guide was clear and full of interesting details. Timed entry was easy, and we enjoyed exploring at our own pace. Highly recommend!
The timed entry system worked very well and helped reduce waiting time. The cathedral is incredibly beautiful, and the audio guide gave useful background information throughout the visit.
Having the audio guide made a big difference because it explained the history of the cathedral, Brunelleschi’s dome, and the artwork step by step while I explored at my own pace. It felt calm and well-organized, even though it was busy. I could stop, look closely at the details, and then continue the guide when I was ready. A really nice way to enjoy the cathedral without feeling rushed or lost.
At the meeting point we were told to scan a QR code that gave us access to the audioguide through our phone. No real audio guide with a headset was given. Our original guide left us to another group without telling us what was happening. We ended up joining another tour with Giulio Vitali. He was very nice, helpful, enthusiastic and understanding. He was being very mindful of who didn't have the headset with them. The rest of his group had a headset on exept the few that were left there in the confusion. He kept anyone without a headset close to him so that we could all hear him properly. At the end of the tour he gave us extra information about the dome and the artists that worked on it. What we found nice about him was his happy character and the fact that he is local and has been doing this for many years. Professional and mindful. Despite the beginning of this tour, it was much better to have a local guide with us. We later checked the audioguide on the phone. It was an automated voice describing things, which did not compare to what we did get in the end with Giulio (which was obviously much better).
Absolutely useless! Wasted 2 lots of money on 2 lots of tickets. You think you are purchasing a ticket, then you need to download it which is impossible in an overcrowded City Centre! You queue up outside your venue and then you are told no you can’t go in, you have to redeem it at a local newsagent or coffee shop! Don’t bother chaps!
