This tour was just right. Lorenzo was fantastic and full of information to share. The winery tour was amazing, the scenes beautiful!

Itinerary
Your driver and tour leader will pick you up in a comfortable, air-conditioned transport in central Florence and drive you through the hills of Tuscany. You'll pass the best panoramic viewpoint of Florence and pause for pictures.
Indulge your imagination with a stop at San Gimignano, a town of such unique architectural beauty it has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You'll have free time to explore its winding streets on your own. Please note that the private option does not include a guided tour of San Gimignano. Guests will instead enjoy extended free time to explore the town at their own pace.
Walking the hills of Tuscan towns will make you hungry so your next stop is an authentic Italian family farm where some of our good friends will give you a behind-the-scenes tour of the vineyards, winery, and wine cellars before sitting you down for a sumptuous, all-inclusive lunch of local, seasonal ingredients. Your meal will be paired with Chianti wines specially selected to perfectly complement the flavors of each dish.
Siena is one of the best-preserved examples of medieval Italian architecture in the world. Spared German bombing in WWII, this time capsule of ancient, precarious-looking buildings is home to the Palio, one of the greatest and most dangerous horse races in the world.
One of the highlights your tour leader will recommend during your free time. Pause amidst the square where fervent horses race to win the honor of bringing home the palio - a handpainted silk banner of the highest regard.
If time allows, a visit to the Siena Cathedral, a Tuscan gem, during your free time won't disappoint!
At the end of the day, hop aboard your comfortable private coach bus back to Florence. We've taken care of the logistics so all you have to do is enjoy the food, the sights, and the scenery.

Get out of the city and into the countryside! This Walks of Italy offered tour is awesome. Our guide Ezgi led our group of 12 (in two vans) into the countryside. With a microphone system, Ezgi's narration was heard clearly in each vehicle. First stop was San Gimignano - an interesting medieval town - and we arrived before the crowds. After time to explore, we continued to a small family vineyard to enjoy lunch and some wine. Finally, we had ample time to explore Siena before heading back to Florence. Well worth the day in your schedule! Highly recommended!
Maria Christina was wonderful! There seems to be no limit to her knowledge of Tuscany — its history, culture, people, geography, everything. She also is very reflective, very thoughtful and wonderfully kind. Couldn’t have asked for a better guide or person! The “small group” tour was the perfect size for us (10 people), the driver (Giacomo) skillful, safe and courteous. The two vans were clean and comfortable.
Our tour of San Gimignano, Siena and the winery was awesome. Good communication, good pace and overall good experience. Since multiple vans were used, our guide was in a different vehicle and it was hard to hear her over the headset at times, probably due to the distance between vans.
This tour was a great way to get out of Florence for a day and experience more of what the Tuscan region has to offer. Anna was our guide. She was personable, knowledgeable, and spoke great English. There were only eight of us on this tour, and we rode in two separate comfortable vans with very capable drivers (Marco was ours). Stops in both San Gimignano and Sienna were lovely, with plenty of time to explore on our own after Anna got us started and gave us some helpful background information. The lunch at the winery was very nice. Not the beautiful view of rolling vineyards that I was expecting, although we did see that as part of our drive as well as a bit from the towns. Lunch included several wines and three courses in a cute little refurbished barn in a quiet part of the country, which was so peaceful after the hubbub of Florence. I highly recommend this tour as a great way to see Tuscany outside of the city.
I had a wonderful time on this day trip in Tuscany! Ezgi was our guide and she was amazing. I traveled with my two sisters, all of us retirement aged. Ezgi was so personable and made sure that each member of the tour was looked out for. She was knowledgeable about the areas and the wines and wine regions. Plus, she had great information about the best ways to access certain things and what might suit our specific needs. We really enjoyed visiting with her and appreciated all she did for us. Our driver was great and I appreciated how hard he had to work to get us to all the places safely. The winery we visited was so charming and we had a great education about the wines they produced. We tasted several and were fed some amazing food as we did our tasting. It was a chance to relax and enjoy the tastes of Tuscany. I would recommend this trip to anyone, young or old!
Anna was very knowledgeable. One thing when walking with older people, it would help to make sure everyone is keeping pace.
We had a great guide and radios but learned nothing about the 2 towns history etc. The winery was lovely. Very light pasta lunch. San G’s tower was a nice climb but wanted another hour in town. Wish we had 3 hours in Siena vs one hour; it is amazing. It was great to learn about Chianti Classico but I would have skipped the sit down meal and preferred a shorter briefer winery experience of 60-90 min and more time exploring the towns. Getting some history on the towns would have been amazing.
Francesco was awesome. He was very entertaining and informative, and made the trip so much better
Nice length. Got a good feel of local vibe without getting overwhelmed.
Great way to spend a day on the countryside, with amazing planned experiences and also freedom to explore the cities as preferred.
We had a wonderful time on this tour and Chiara was the best tour guide we could have hoped for. We highly recommend this tour.
Our time in San Gimignano was much too short. We only had 60 minutes. The winery meal was very good, though.
Wonderful experience!! Beautiful countryside and delicious food and drinks.
What an incredible day! This tour was easily one of the highlights of our trip to Italy. San Gimignano was absolutely spectacular — one of those places that almost doesn’t seem real. The medieval architecture, towers, views and history were breathtaking, and we loved having time to walk around and explore. The Chianti wine tasting at Il Colombaio was another highlight. We enjoyed a wonderful tasting and lunch with several wines paired with delicious food. The setting was beautiful, the wine was excellent, and the entire experience was relaxed and fun. Siena was another beautiful stop, filled with history, incredible architecture and atmosphere. The combination of San Gimignano, the Chianti countryside and winery, and Siena made for a perfect Tuscany experience. Our tour guide was knowledgeable, personable and engaging throughout the entire day, and our driver was excellent. They kept everything organized and comfortable while still making the day feel relaxed and enjoyable. Our small group was also wonderful, and we had so many laughs together. An absolutely 5-star experience. Beautiful scenery, fascinating places, delicious food and wine, and a wonderful guide and driver. We would highly recommend this tour!
We had an amazing Tuscan wine tour through Chianti, San Gimignano, and Siena! Franchesca was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and shared so much about the history, culture, and wine of Tuscany. She made an already beautiful experience even more memorable. Thank you, Franchesca, for an unforgettable day!
Francesca was wonderful! A great tour of the Tuscan countryside and cities with a very knowledgeable guide. The lunch was also delicious :)
Enjoy the well organized experience. Food was outstanding. Very fresh and the wine was excellent. Well worth the money.
It was a really enjoyable day. The lunch and wine tasting were even better than expected and we really enjoyed walking the streets of San Gimignano after lunch. The other couples on the trip were fun to spend time with as well.
What a wonderful way to explore the outer parts of Tuscany. Chiara, our guide was a natural. Very knowledgeable in her history of Florence and of wine country. The food and wine at Poggio Amorelli was fantastic. The medieval villages of San Gimignano and Siena were amazing. Overall experience 10/10. Highly recommend.
It was fantastic! Chiara was knowledgeable, funny, and a fantastic guide around the different cities. I’d been to San gimignano and Siena before and this tour was better by far. The food at lunch was fabulous too. Chiara also had amazing recommendations for restaurants based on what we were still looking for. Highly recommend!
This was a wonderful way to see Tuscany and our guide, Mara was fabulous! The hilight of the day was our lunch at a small family owned winery. The only bummer was, we were in the van without the guide and while we had headsets so she could talk to us, many times our vans were too far apart and we lost communication.
This was a well paced full day tour. The meet up was easy in central tourist area and we went in vans that held at most 8 travelers plus driver. We had 7 in our van plus driver so it was not too crowded. You first stop for pictures at piazza Michelangelo and it is lovely in the morning with no tourists there. Then to Sangimignano for about an hour to n your own - it’s enough time to get a gelato, take pics of the views and do a little shopping. Then short drive to lunch with tastings of 4 wines and some olive oils and balsamic and good pasta. Then drive to Siena and about 90 min there on your own. If you want to see the church go first thing as there is a line. Then drive back to start. Our guide, Francesco, was great. He is local to Florence but had great knowledge of history, food and wine and was very fun. It was quick visits to the 2 cities, but a good experience and you don’t have to do the driving.
Great trip & experience. Enough time at each city to explore and winery was nice.
Great tour! Loved the winery. Tour guide Francesca was wonderful - knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful.
Monica was a wonderful and knowledgeable guide , full of historical insights and stories! I highly recommend her as a guide and trip host.
Very informative Anna had great English and the tour gave enough rest time. Wines and lunch at winery were excellent.
Monica and Alessandro were both fantastic! We really enjoyed all 3 stops and all the information they shared. It was a great way to see several cities in a short amount of time. The wines were delicious too!
Don't expect education or insights into town and wine making. Food was good, and wine, but having another group right next to us was terrible. The biggest issue, one guide for two vans. Could not ask questions or even hear as we were in other van. First question once arriving, do you mine if we split your family as we don't have room (4 people) in one car. Who goes on vacation or tour and wants to get split? Terrible guide and process.
Monica was amazing. What a great tour given. Beautiful sites and such amazing history passed on to us. It was an unforgettable tour. Thank you.
Wonderful tour. Winery was outstanding. Guides were very knowledgeable.
The trip was a lot of fun and Maria Christina did a wonderful job of providing the needed information, while also letting us do our own exploring
Amazing tour - Mara is very vivacious and kept our group entertained while teaching us so much! The winery was so nice and food was excellent!
Great day. Loved the tour and wine tasting. Very educational. The wine was fabulous and food was excellent.
Well organized tour with an informative guide. Francesca was helpful and pleasant, the drivers were courteous and the van comfortable.
The experience was a lot of fun, the towns included in the tour were beautiful, the planning was solid, and Anna was an amazing guide. She told lots of cool stories and answered all of our questions, we had a great time!
Sandra was friendly and pleasant, educational and informative, helpful and patient. Her English was excellent.
This was by far the best tour we had while in Italy. Our tour guide Marco kept us all engaged for the entire trip and gave us a wealth of information. He was informative and funny too. We had a wonderful time with our teenagers. Great shopping in San Gimignano and delicious gelato. The wine tasting and lunch was delicious and plentiful. After lunch we went to Siena which while beautiful is very hilly so that was harder than we expected on full bellies. Overall an incredible trip which was comfortable in an air conditioned Mercedes van. Loved this tour and Marco was a fabulous guide!
Our tour guide, Cristina M. was excellent. Lunch was delicious. This is worth the money. Broke up the chaos of Florence city area. Views are stunning. Having a driver drop you off is perfect. Great experience.!
Excellent day out sight seeing, exploring and learning of Tuscan history and wine making. Fab time had.
Very well organized tour. Lorenzo kept everyone engaged but also had a positive and energetic effect on the experience. He even memorized everyone’s name. Transportation was reliable and comfortable. A great experience for anyone looking to spend a day in Tuscany. Highly recommended.
We enjoyed our tour with Maria. She was knowledgeable and able to answer all of our questions. It was a great day. Our driver was excellent. We felt very safe.
Had a fantastic tour thank you to Monica and our driver. Everything was well arranged, and Monica did a terrific job explaining all of the sites and experiences. She was attentive to everyone’s questions and needs while also keeping us on schedule.
Money well-spent: driving and parking and drop-offs handled; expert, lively guide with humor (thank you, Francesco!); DELIGHTFUL lunch and winetasting at the vineyard, hosted by the winemaker; walkabouts in truly medieval cities. Tourist crowds in June are unavoidable, but it was very smart to get us to San Gimignano in the morning, before all the buses arrived. Photo ops everywhere - at all stops, some money-shot views of Tuscany! Will not soon forget the lovely winery experience.
What a fantastic day trip with Lorenzo, he is a great educated, informative professional guide with an excellent sense of humour. From the moment we met in the morning to get dropped off the evening Lorenzo went above and beyond to ensure everybody on the tour were comfortable and were having a great time, he also shared places to visit and dine etc as he is a true local to Florence. We highly recommend this tour with Lorenzo we had one of the best days in our Europe trip.
We had the best time with Anna! She was knowledgeable and thorough with her discussion points and gave us ample time to explore all our stops. The food and wine at our winery stop were incredible and worth the value of the tour on its own! We had a small group of 7, which made it very intimate and easy to get to know the other members of our group. If you love exploring small towns and wine, this is the tour for you!
We had a wonderful day with Christina as our guide and Marco as our driver. Christina has a wonderful personality and is full of information. We toured a bit of Florence, then onto San Gimignano, followed by lunch in the Chianti region of Tuscany. After a very good lunch, with wine, vinegar and olive oil tasting we headed to Sienna which is a beautiful place to visit! We enjoyed our day.
Had the most amazing tour thanks to our guide Francesca. She was incredibly kind, informative, personable, and funny. I learned so much about each location we visited all the while still having my own free time to explore. The views were breathtaking! Francesca gave great recommendations for me while I continue my journey as a study abroad student in Florence. Our group was smaller/more intimate which made it easy to connect with one another. I’m walking away from this experience feeling inspired by Italian culture, history, and architecture. Ultimately, I feel a little closer to this community and not just a visitor here.
Wonderful way to tour San Gimignano & Siena! Transportation was perfect with small group on van and loved being dropped off right next to all the historic sights. Our guide Mara was so kind and enthusiastic about sharing Italy with us. Her knowledge about the food and wine served to us at the winery was perfect! We loved that the winery tour was small and only our tour group there.
I booked this because I wanted to primarily visit Siena( it’s been 15 years) and avoid Pisa. It was supposed to be 90 mins in San Gimignano and 2 hours in Siena and the wine stop in between. We had less than hour in San Gimignano so you barely had time to visit the Duomo although Sandra got us to the bathrooms quickly which was good because they were down a few hills. The saffron gelato at Dandini was great. The antipasto at the vineyard was a nice selection, the pasta was an overcooked lasagna, not what I would have expected. I’ve always had good pasta at these vineyard tours before so maybe it was just an off day. Siena needs at least 3-4 hours. The stop at Piazzelle Michelangelo is a waste of time in the morning . I would suggest skipping it and going straight. To San Gimignano. Our guide was pleasant but not interactive other than to say “Ok here’s a map, you can go here, you can go there. She did seem to know the Vineyard owner and had a good time at lunch. I told other people on the trip about the Duomo and Piccolomini and they were amazed and commented afterwards. I think she should have mentioned this so people would know what to look for and not just point to the Piazza for the Palio and say ok you can see where the Palio takes place. No time to visit the museo or Baptistry. Other people have seemed to have had a good experience with Lorenzo so I guess it all depends on who you get. Maybe you could consider doing a day trip just to Siena and San Gimignano so people have time to actually explore the city . I know Italian laws are strict about tour guides in each city so maybe have the option to hire a proper guide for Siena as there are so many places to visit with the various contrades.
