We had a fantastic tour of the Uffizi and Accademia Galleries with Annette! She was incredibly knowledgeable about art, history, and Florence, bringing masterpieces by Botticelli, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Caravaggio, and Raphael to life. She shared fascinating insights into the evolution of art and technique from the Middle Ages through the Renaissance, all while making the experience engaging and enjoyable. The tour was exceptionally well organized, with seamless museum entry and a wonderful walking tour of the city. Itinerary
First, explore the city, including the historic Academia. This gallery is home to one of the world’s most iconic statues, David, by Michelangelo. Your guide will discuss the artistic mastermind behind this giant nude statue and his other 16th century works on display in the museum.
After the Galleria dell’Accademia you will explore the Piazza del Duomo, located in the heart of Florence. The square is one of the most visited places the city and in Europe!
In the Piazza del Duomo you will discover all about the Cathedral of Florence and its beautiful Dome which were designed by Brunelleschi in the XV century. During the tour however, you will not go inside the Dome but you will learn all about its fascinating history whilst observing it from the outside.
You will also see the Baptistery of the city, a religious building in Florence and one of the oldest buildings in the city. It is renowned for its three sets of bronze doors, which are one of the finest examples of renaissance art. *Other landmarks located in the Piazza del Duomo are the Loggia del Bigallo, a late Gothic building, the Opera del Duomo Museum, a museum containing many of the original works of art created for the Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore, the Arcivescoville and Canoncici’s palace, all located in the west zone of the square called Piazza San Giovanni.
Next, you will walk along what is known as Via dei Calzaiuoli, a wide and long pedestrian street connecting the Piazza del Duomo with the Piazza della Signoria. It is probably one of the busiest streets in the city, lined with elegant boutiques and fancy restaurants.
After this you will visit the Piazza della Repubblica, a public square that marks the ancient Florence. The square was completely re-designed in the XIX century and during the tour you will learn all about the changes done in the city during the period.
Afterwards, you will visit the Piazza della Signoria, the political square of Florence. The square is full of many original statues, such as the first public fountain of Florence, the Neptune which was done by Ammannati, or the amazing Perseus done by Cellini in the XVI century. There is also replica of David which was placed to show people where he stood before the statue stood before it was moved inside the Accademia.
The main attraction you will discover is the Palazzo Vecchio, the city’s townhall. It is considered the main symbol of civil power in Florence. The original building construction began in 1299 above the ruins of the destroyed Uberti Ghibelline towers and is attributed to Arnolfo di Cambio.
Just before finishing your tour, you will touch the nose of the “Porcellino”, a fountain of a wild board, an act considered to bring you good luck!
Your tour will come to an end at Ponte Vecchio, the main bridge of the city and the first built in Florence. It is the only bridge to have survived WW2.
Your tour will come to an end at Ponte Vecchio, the main bridge of the city and the first built in Florence. It is the only bridge to have survived WW2.
After a break for lunch, we move inside to the Uffizi, Italy’s most visited museum. Designed as a building for the offices – or uffizi – of the Florentine magistrates, the structure grew to house the stunning collection of art amassed by the wealthy Medici family. Overlooking the Arno River, the gallery is as picturesque as the many paintings hanging on its walls. You’ll learn about its turbulent history including a mafia car bomb and severe flooding that threatened the artwork. The Uffizi has undergone extensive modernization through the early 21st century, making it a world-class museum. More than 100 rooms highlighting the best of Italian art from names like Titian and Caravaggio. Discover these Renaissance works and the artists behind them, like Raphael’s “Self Portrait.” See the most famous paintings like Botticelli’s “Primavera” or his iconic “Birth of Venus,” a work that has become a cultural reference over the past few hundred years. This tour ensures you will leave Florence having experienced the best it has to offer.

Tour with Larisa. We toured the the Galleria del'Accademia and Uffizi Gallery with Larisa. My wife has significant movement challenges so we were concerned going in but Larisa was extremely sensitive accommodating. The attention to detail and enthusiasm Larisa shared was entertaining and fun. What a great tour!

The tour was outstanding. I only had a short time in Florence and it was my favorite tour of my two days but this was because of Illaria, who was an outstanding tour guide. She was extremely knowledgeable and helpful throughout the day. I highly recommend her to anyone looking to have a great experience in Florence!
Great experience! Francesco did an amazing job and was very informative!
Guides can be hit or miss…. but Larisa hit, hard. Consummate Italophile (and no-nonsense Croat with a cheeky sense of humor), she brings history to life in stories and anecdotes that will make you pity the other tourists who blindly look at masterpieces they will never understand. Cheers Larisa!
If you want a really nice time with a super host (Anette), this is your tour. She is friendly, knowledgeable, funny and makes the entire experience pleasant and informative.
Our tour guide Annette was fabulous. She was so passionate and knowledgeable about Florence and the works at The Uffizi Galleries and The Galleria dell'Accademia. Larisa was an excellent guide and we covered a lot - loved going through the Uffizi gallery. Highly recommend to get a great walk through of the city
Thanks to Jack, our tour host, we know so much more about his city of Florence. It was so wonderful to hear and learn about the city of Florence from him. We had so many photo ops too. Jack is very knowledgeable and shared interesting bits of information and perspective on the city’s history and the many works of art we saw. It’s obvious he is a student of history and the arts and it really made for a great tour. Highly recommend this tour, especially with Jack.
We had a private tour with Fransesco. He was incredible. He discussed in depth and with much enthusiasm great features of the Academia, Uffizi and Florence in general. He also gave spot on advice for places to eat and go in the Florence. It was splendid and Francesco is exceptional!
What an absolutely wonderful tour we had with Eleanora! Her knowledge and enthusiasm was so welcome to us because it matched our desire to see and do as much as possible in our short stay in Florence. There was no question asked that she couldn't answer! She truly gave us so much more than we could have hoped for. When you reserve this tour ask for Eleanora!!

Fabulous tour of the Uffizi Gallery and Academia seeing David. Our guide Francesca was exceptional. She was very knowledgeable and explained everything to perfection. Highly recommend this tour. Best guide we have had!
Uffizi was great. Tour operator amazing knowledge and personality. Watching presentation of Dante's commedia truly wonderful.
Babylon Tours, & our guide Laura, were both outstanding. Babylon provided a photo along with instructions on where to meet…all tourists have questions “am I in the right spot?” and this was VERY helpful. Laura was quite knowledgeable about the history & its importance. She was also exceptionally personable, which made her delightful to spend the day with walking the highlights of Florence. She even helped me plot a walking course back to the train station with a wine window stop! As a first time visitor to Florence, I read all the reviews to help me select our tour. In order to pay it forward, I highly recommend this tour group and Laura. Well done.
Ended up with a private tour, just my wife and I. I am glad they didn't cancel on us when no others booked our tour day/time. It was a great tour and we enjoyed it very much.
Annette was fantastic. She’s very knowledgeable and made our experience very special, fun and enlightening. Highly recommend

Giacomo's engaging commentary brought each site to life, and his friendly demeanor made the tour enjoyable. Highly recommend him and the agency for anyone visiting Florence! Grazie mille, Giacomo!
Having a private guide walk around the city with you who is knowledgeable about art and history is worth it. Lisette was just that and she enriched our visit with her knowledge. She was very flexible and adapted our schedule to our wants.
Larissa was so knowledgeable! She was also a huge help with navigating around the Florence Marathon and finding us a place to park. The whole day was fun and relaxing
Annette was one of the best tour guides we ever had. My husband and I have been traveling throughout Italy. Her expertise and knowledge was amazing. We enjoyed the time we spent together. Smart, charming and truly lovely. We will never forget Florence. Thank you Annette!!
Amazing tour, Larisa was so passionate explaining the tour to us. I highly recommend you do this tour as it is easy, quick and well explain.
Elizabetta was very knowledgeable about everything and was very accommodating to what I specifically wanted to see. She was able to get Galleria to change my daughter’s ticket to the next day as she couldn’t participate due to illness. Very sweet and genuine person.
I gave the tour a five, but this is probably only true, if you like fine art. I liked to seeing the city and the architecture more than the art gallery, although some aspects of that were still quite impressive. Our tour guide was excellent.
