I booked this tour with Viator 3 months in advance only to be emailed 2 days before to be told they would be unable to accommodate us due to being "overbooked". I have no idea how this could even happen as I am 100% sure people booked this same date and time long after we did. I ended up scrambling with calls and working directly with the museum while away to be able to make this experience happen which the gallery luckily worked easily with us on. And of course, there WAS availability. The only thing that makes logical sense as to why this would have even happened is they sold our tickets to other people at a higher price shortly before. Do yourself a favor and do not book with Destination Europe and work with another company or the Gallery directly.

Itinerary
Michelangelo’s colossal David is perhaps the most famous icon of the Italian Renaissance, if not the most famous statue in the world. Did you know that there are actually three Davids in Florence? The real David is found in the Accademia Gallery. Hoards of visitors line up outside the Gallery each day to get the chance to marvel at this impressive masterwork. Avoid the crowds and enjoy faster, priority entrance with us on our Accademia tour.

Reviews
Don’t purchase tickets through Viator. Viator canceled tickets twice the day of the tour to Accadamia and the Vatican
Guide(s) never showed up. We were in the area checking where we had to be an hour early. We arrived at the set point 30 minutes early and waited there for 40 minutes. We asked employees of the museum if we were in the correct place. They confirmed we had the correct address for the meeting point, as it happens to be directly across the street. We called the number viator.com provided but it's an automated number that says the person isn't available and goes into how to more advertisements. We eventually got into line get into the museum ourselves and saw that no one else or any guides ever showed up across the street up to 20 minutes past the set time. We saw the museum on our own. I will be following up with viator.com shortly. This review is same day.
I was happy to snag these tickets at the last minute (day before) as previous plans had fallen through. When we arrived at the meeting place, there were many groups and it was difficult to find which one had our tickets. We found the right group by asking each person who seemed to have a list. The man we were directed to didn’t have us on the list. I told him we had booked last night and he called someone to confirm. Once confirmed, we were handed our tickets and told to get in line. We did not get a guided tour but I was grateful to have the tickets and experience the Accademia anyway.
Seeing Michelangelo's David was great, but the tour I would not recommend. We waited 20 minutes outside in the heat for people who were late (they never showed up). We ended up missing our time and had to wait longer. Our guide rambled and rambled and rambled. Everyone in our group (6 people ... 4 I didn't know) looked checked out and bored. I have a degree in art history and studied abroad in Florence back in the day and a lot of the information our guide shared wasn't even applicable. It was like she talked to fill up the time.
This was a lovely tour of the museum. Lara was such a lovely person and so informed on all of the history of the art and the artist. I so very much enjoyed this tour and will book it again if ever back to Florence with friends. I recommended highly
Really glad we paid to skip the incredibly long line, and the intelligent, knowledgeable guide made the experience so much more meaningful. Highly recommend this tour.
The tickets they provided worked fine and we did get to skip the line, but they failed to provide a tour guide and the title of the activity literally says “guided tour”. Not satisfied as we paid extra to have a tour guide and did not get one.
Great tour. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and very enthusiastic about art history. We waited in a shorter separate line from other tourists for at the most 10 minutes before entering. The owner of the tour company thought we had accidentally made 2 transactions instead of 1 and was very kind and helpful in explaining to us how to get our refund. It ended up being an error on his end but we appreciated that he pointed it out to us and was willing to help us get our money back. Definitely recommend.
We showed up to our destination on time, with great directions and were immediately led to the front of the line with no wait at all by our friendly guide and had a great day!
