So fun! Harder than expected but really fun experience to create something and learn about the history of leather products in Florence. We left with two wallets we 100% plan to use! A bit for rustic than me usual taste but made for the experience.
This was an absolutely amazing experience! The value is incredible -- you get a really fun and educational experience, and you get a beautiful customized wallet to take home -- a real two for one! Serena was great -- helpful when we needed it, but hands-off enough so that we really felt that we made our bags ourselves. I would recommend this workshop to everyone without hesitation!

Incredible facility/school. True artisans teaching students the art of leather. It’s there for you to see. Quite a walk though depending on where you’re staying.
We had a great time making our leather wallets. We actually chose to make a larger size to hold our travel documents. The lady who owned the store was a hoot, and made our experience a lot of fun. We learned how to select our leather pieces, and how to measure and sew the wallets. They came out great, and we loved the session and our new document wallets.
My wife and I like making something on vacation so for our trip to Florence, picked this workshop and learned a lot from the team at Garbage’en! They were very patient as we started with pieces of leather and eventually turned them into a purse and a passport case! Something different to do between all the eating and sightseeing!
Unique experience that isn’t offered in other areas. You get to choose materials to make your own wallet. There are different styles to choose from and different sizes. Our teacher/host was encouraging but informative. You could tell she has been processing leather supplies for awhile based on her skill. I would go back again just to make something else. Try it out!

The ladies are amazing and very talented- Sandra ( the owner), Sarina and Julia! All of them were patient and attentive. Sandra worked hands on with us as she guided us through the process of creating our own handcrafted leather wallets. The energy in the shop was amazing, it felt like be welcomed in by family. We would definitely do it again! Thank you for making this activity memorable for us (mother and daughter). I can’t tell you how much we enjoyed this activity!!!! 10/10!!
Me and my husband visit Florence again to celebrate our 10th anniversary, so we are looking for some less ordinary experience and we are glad to have joined this workshop. We get to choose leathers coming from luxury brands, so the quality is really good. The wallets are easy to make and we are very well guided. The place is close to the city centre and is easy to find. Plenty good food in the surroundings as well.
What an amazing and fun activity! Julia and Sandra were patient and hands on teachers through each step. You can choose from many patterns to various sizes. If you are looking for something different but memorable sign up! Tip too there is an amazing gelato place directly across from it😂.

This was such a unique and amazing experience. You also make something to take home as opposed to just purchasing it. The owner was friendly and helpful. It was a great reminder that beauty is in the imperfections.

Fantastic! We had an absolute blast. We were able to pick out the style and colors of leather for our wallets and they came out awesome. Julia (one of the owners) was really cool and down to earth and showed us what to do step by step. We went as a group of friends and it was perfect. Also a unique place to find one of a kind leather pieces to buys as well!
The most amazing experience in Florence. I was able to design and create an Italian wallet. She has patience and is willing to get into the spirit of tourists, such as taking pictures to make the event memorable. The instructor was phenomenal.! I highly recommend this activity to anyone who wants to escape the hustle and bustle of the markets.

The team have a wide selection of beautiful leather and patterns to choose from, along with many models of wallets to make. Their expert guidance and tools made the experience of choosing materials and crafting your wallet a truly joyful and engaging experience. The team communicated well in English with fun and humor with a nice and cozy location to dive in to the local leather work. I would definitely keep this wallet for many years to came as the best souvenir from our entire trip to Italy. Would love to come again and again and make wallets for all my friends and family. 5 stars for sure.
This was such a fun leather making class! There was A LOT of leather you could choose from for your little purse/wallet and Sandra was really nice in helping you customize the styles you want. The end product ended up looking super cute and unique. Location was also really convenient, right in the city center. All in all, it just felt really cute and local. Perfect for a couple date or a DIY session with your girls!
