Family Friendly Florence Private City Tour

Christina was so lovely, and gave a really great tour! My kids were tired and cranky, and she was so patient with them and explained things at their level. Absolutely recommend!

We had a great time with Alessia seeing the city and learning more about it. Our daughter (7) was engaged the whole time and enjoyed the scavenger hunt along the way. Alessia was super knowledgeable and able to answer all our questions. She was also friendly and flexible. Highly recommend!

Martina was by far the best tour guide that we had in Italy! We appreciated her energy and the way that she brought Florence to life for us! She was also helpful in getting us in to the museum to see The Statue of David before the museum closed early for the day. Our 11 year old daughter, who does not typically like tours, raved about Martina. We highly recommend Martina!

Cristina was a wonderful tour guide for our family, aged 7 to 70. She immediately engaged with our granddaughter and won her over with her kindness. She shared much interesting history along with some legends and lore as we walked around Florence. The scavenger hunt was fun for our young one. We all agreed she was the perfect guide and highly recommend her.

We (family of 2 adults and 2 girls age 10 and 13) had a great time with Cristina! She's really a kind person with a lot of knowledge of Florence but more important very easy going and entertaining!

We had a wonderful tour on our first evening in Florence with Michele. He has amazing energy and passion for history and art and was a great storyteller. We all enjoyed spending time with him and learned so much! He was one of our favorite tour guides on a several week vacation around Europe. Highly recommend!

Tour was cancelled on me 2 hours before we were scheduled to meet which threw a wrench in our day since we had no chance of booking another tour by that time. no explanation given and no compensation offered for our inconvenience. I would find a more reliable tour that won’t cancel on you at the last second and throw your day into chaos.

Prior to the date of the tour, Dina provided excellent communication regarding the meeting place and what to expect on the tour. Dina met me at our hotel right on time. Originally, the tour was to include my wife but we made the mistake of touring the Boboli Gardens the day before and she had blisters on her feet. For English speaking guests, rest assured, Dina speaks perfect English. Dina was full of interesting stories and facts about the Oltrarno area and the Medici family. She took me to a few local artisans to describe their goods and process. Dina has a great personality and the time went by too fast. Going to a new area with a guide like Dina adds so much more to the experience. You can’t go wrong by using Dina for your tour. I highly recommend Dina for tours.

Dina was warm and quickly made our two kids comfortable. She ensured that she connected with them on their level (sometimes literally squatting down to their eye level) and engaged them with questions. Dina also provided enough information for the adults to be entertained, and gave us a lot of recommendations to do with the kids while we’re in town. I would definitely recommend Dina for anyone looking for a personalized and engaging tour!

We had the best time on this tour around the city. It really helped us to gain an understanding of the layout, and Dina brought her sweet dog Nala! This was my kids favorite part of the tour. 😁 We really enjoyed seeing the sights and talking with Dina. She is very knowledgeable and personable and SO GOOD with kids! At the end we were treated to gelato! I would definitely hire her again!

Our tour with Virgina made our short visit to Florence so much richer then it would have been without her. In two hours we learned about the city, the art and the people who created it. I loved having someone else to follow instead of using my phone to guide everyone around. She had great answers to my kids’ questions and is a lovely person. Highly recommended for families!

Martina did a fantastic job engaging my kids on the tour. The highlight of the tour was the paper demo. Martina even helped me to book a paper marbling workshop for my kids that we could do later in the day. This was extremely helpful as the regular demo shop was already booked. Martina was able to recommend another shop that was available. My kids and I had a great time.

After waiting a half hour in the rain, Viator confirmed that my tour guide wasn't going to show up. Company was very apologetic and the refund was super quick, but I'd arranged our day around that tour and it was challenging to rearrange a full day of sightseeing on no notice. Overall, great customer service from Viator, but I would have preferred to take the tour.

Dina was one of the highlights of our trip to Italy. She was incredibly knowledgeable, kind and fun. Was willing to answer any and all questions and went above and beyond in the days leading up to and after our trip. Her English and Spanish were perfect and she made our first day in Florence so memorable. She was kind and patient with our toddler and managed to get a smile out of her by the end of the day. Which is a triumph in itself! Our two year old was a little young for the scavenger hunt but she went out of her way to make her feel included and keep her happy. Dina is a gem. Totally worth it. We did the Florence tour on Monday August 9th / 2021 with Cristina, with our two daughters (9) and (11) years old. Cristina was amazing, very professional, with a high knowledge of the city and their secrets stories, very friendly and definitely super kids oriented. My girls really enjoyed the tour and the treasure hunt game despite of the 36 degrees :(. She took us to an amazing ice cream place ( it was the best part of the tour for our daughters, on top of the received a little gift from Cristina). We are a family with daughters aged 10 and 13. We had an amazing experience in Florence, thanks to Christina. Our children like Christina a lot. She’s friendly, tells good stories. She got the full attention for the history of Florence from the girls, but gave us a good tour as well. She is really interested in the kids en keeps the children interested all the time. She’s very flexible, gives good advice on the do’s and don’ts with children in Florence. Thank you for everything!

On a hot summer day we had a lovely family tour through Florence with Cristina. She paid extra attention to our 7 years old boy, had interesting stories and showed us around in the city. The treasure hunt was a nice way to keep him enthusiastic, looking for signs and knowing we would stop for a gelato. She even arranged a "prize" for him. It was a nice stroll around the city in two hours and I would definitely recommend the tour with Cristina!

Thanks to Cristina we had a great stay in Florence. It started already prior to our booking with tips when and how to do the tour best. She is very experienced and was able to answer all our questions. But the best thing was that she was able to inspire our kids so that they were also happy to learn more about Florence, the Medici and the history.

May i start by saying that even prior to booking christina made herself available immediately to help us book our trip. We booked a private tour and our ages ranged from 12 to all age adults. Christina met us and immediately engaged us all. The tour was fun informative but felt like we were being guided by a friend from florence. She assisted us in buying tickets for the duomo which we all appreciated. just little things that made it not the ordinary tour. We loved how she worked with all our personalities and ages and we felt like we saw florence in a way that helped us navigate later on our own. We had planned only a single day in Florence during our family trip to Italy so we knew that we had to find a great tour guide to get the most out of our limited time there. We couldn't have wished for a better guide than Cristina, who gave us the perfect introduction to Florence and was able to show us the major sights whilst also answering our questions about anything and everything to do with the city and local culture. Our daughter enjoyed Christina's scavenger hunt and Gelato stop. It wasn't long before our two hours were up but luckily Cristina had given us recommendations for the rest of the day, including a fantastic restaurant for lunch which was away from the main tourist area. Cristina is very engaging, to all on the tour, from the small ones on up to the more seasoned travelers. She is extremely knowledgeable, and keeps both young and old interested in all the great sites in Florence. The treasure hunt was fun for the little ones, and even the adults enjoying playing along. We had searched the internet for a tour to suit us and our 13 year old son. There were lots available but we didn't think our son would enjoy trawling round Florence with a headset on. We decided to book withlocals.com and are so pleased we did. The booking process was very simple and Cristina sent a text immediately after the booking. She asked if we needed help with anything and she reserved tickets for us to visit the Accademia museum to see 'David'. We were unable to book these online so before we had even started we thought Cristina was fabulous! Cristina texted the night before to check all was ok for our tour in the morning. What great communication. We had booked the family tour and Cristina included our son throughout. We saw parts of Florence that we would have walked straight past. When we saw the multiple large groups of people on walking tours of Florence it made us even more pleased that we had booked our tour with Cristina. Cristina was awesome. So friendly, knowledgeable and very aware of how a 13 year old boy can get bored. She made sure he didn't. Thank you Cristina, can't recommend you enough.

We were a large group (14 people, including 2 kids), which is more than the normal group size for this kind of tour, but to Cristina's credit she handled our group really well. What we liked about Cristina: 1) She got our group headphones, so we heard her clearly throughout the tour. 2) She had a wealth of knowledge about Florence, its history and architecture. 3) She is great with kids.My daughter was holding her hand the entire tour and climbed the Duomo by herself! 4) She was flexible and managed our time really nicely. 5) She gave us nice tips on where to go and what to do and what not to do. We all absolutely loved the tour. Martina made it sooo special. We were impressed by her knowledge of the local history and the attention to detail. Our girls ( aged 11and 8) were hooked from the start and she kept them engaged throughout the whole tour with the fantastic stories, legends and the treasure hunt. What an amazing time!! We're so glad we booked with Cristina ! We had a group of 6 including 3 kids ages 11, 8 and 6 and my mother in lawwho was in a wheelchair. It was a great time! Cristina was wonderfulwith keeping the kids entertained and excited and was great at accommodating the needs of our group. She also gave such wonderful details about the cites rich history , culture and meaning behind the structures and designs. It was very informative and made us love Florence even more ! I know we would never have never learned all these interesting details without having done the tour!! Highly recommended. Do not leave Florence without touring with Cristina !!!!

Martina was a brilliant guide. She was particularly good at engaging the kids and her knowledge of the florence was exceptional, including little backstreets we never would have found by ourselves. Wow. I cannot say enough amazing things about Christina. I had my kids (5 & 6) and my in-laws that I needed to suit with this tour. Christine was beyond any expectation, she had activities for the kids to do while us adults listened to all the tour insights. My family and I did a wonderful tour of Florence with Cristina, she was amazing. Dina was great! We were in Firenze in the middle of a heat wave with 4 kids who were already tired. She was fantastic at keeping us moving, engaged, and entertained. She was obviously very knowledgeable about the history and culture and shared so much. Bonus: she was great at finding shade at each spot we stopped. We're grateful for her help and recommendations for the rest of our trip.

The tour with Cristina was fun and engaging with just enough details so my girls could also enjoy it who were 7 and 9 perfectly. They said they adored her and she also had little bonus treats and the treasure hunt which they loved. We were only in Florence for the day which turned out to be a lot for the kids of that age to try and see a big city in one hot day, but starting out with the tour in the morning helped us get our barring to enjoy the rest of the day. She also kindly recommended to us what to do after and thank goodness she did as Florence was really crowded so per her suggestion we walked up the tower of Palazzo Vecchio had incredible views right to the duomo and no waiting at all. She also kindly recommended a restaurant for lunch which was a non-touristy trattoria with great food. Don't hesitate booking Cristina for any tour, she was extremely knowledgeable and you will enjoy it!

Dina was awesome and went above and beyond to make our weary family of travelers feel comfortable in Firenze! We arrived late Andy in the rain with three small kids, but none of that phased her. She gave us a fabulous tour and is just a delightful person!!

Dina was excellent. We were a family of two adults and two children (9 and 7) and she skilfully engaged and educated us all. Our children normally concentrate for two minutes, but Dina had a way of keeping them involved and therefore they managed the whole two hour tour with ease. Dina was informative and shared her amazing knowledge of the city and its history. She did so in an entertaining and light way. We were taken to a fantastic gelato store, which all of us appreciated! Pre-tour communications with Dina were always clear and she was helpful in terms of advising us on a restaurant for lunch. I would highly recommend Dina for a tour of Florence.

Dina did not disappoint. We travelled to Florence with our 3 kids (6/4/1 years old) and exploring can be challenging at times. Dina had a solid tour planned for us and time flew by. We visited some main sites but also others that were not on the traditional to see list and appreciated the local feel. Martina was the perfect guide to bring the beautiful city of Florence alive for our family. Our two kids (4 and 8) were fascinated by Martina's stories of the city and they loved her fun challenges and activities. She was so warm, friendly, passionate, knowledgeable and professional. Oh what can I say ..... she was just simply awesome her knowledge, attention to detail, patience and above all customer service was just simply brilliant. Cristina took us, our 2 kids (7 and 9), and the Grandparents on a tour of Florence. She was extremely warm and welcoming to everyone, especially the kids. We booked a private tour because you never quite know how the kids will be and we made the right decision. We never felt rushed, she was open and welcomed any questions that came her way. She kept it interesting for the kids and adults. After the tour, my 9 year old told me, “I wish the tour was not over, she was amazing!” We would all highly recommend Cristina.

We took Martina's Kids Tour in Florence yesterday on March 8, 2019. She is a lovely lady, italian born, she explained the history of Florence on theatrical way which made my kids interested. It is not easy to make kids fascinated about history though, but she did it very well. My parties are my girls 8 and 10, my parents in 60s, my husband and I, we all enjoyed her tour. She answered patiently to everyone's questions. Would recommend her to anyone looking for professional and good looking tour guide in Florence. Cheers.

We really enjoyed the tour Martina gave us. She blended history, architecture, and interesting culture anecdotes in her introduction. The tour was carefully planned and organized. Martina is extremely good with kids. Our 7 year old really paid attention to what she said even though she didn't completely comprehend the history or religion. The treasurer hunt really made this an interesting tour for her. The restaurant Martina recommended to us was excellent! We really had fantastic experience in Florence! We hope to be back for another visit in the not so distant future!
