We loved Anastasia! She was extremely informative and energetic! She was very kind and we had such a great time. It was a great tour that I highly recommend, but you must be able to climb stairs.

Itinerary
Face the façade that shook a city. Marble giants, Gothic lines, Dante’s Florence carved in stone. Your guide pulls the drama out of every detail.
Step inside the Opera Museum. Michelangelo’s unfinished Pietà stares back at you. Ghiberti’s Gates of Paradise blaze with gold. Every room, a Renaissance punch.
The mosaics ignite above you—scenes of heaven and hell that once crowned Medici weddings and Dante’s baptism. Light, gold, shock.
The forbidden climb. 463 steps of sweat, grit, obsession. Zuccari & Vasari’s Last Judgment wraps around you. Then—your moment at the top. Florence explodes 360° under your feet.
Your ticket keeps working. Return within 2 days and storm Giotto’s Tower. 414 steps, pure burn, pure adrenaline, skyline detonating. Takes approx. 45' to be done. (Not included from Jan 2027)
Descend into the crypt and uncover Florence’s buried past. Stones older than the Dome. Silence, echoes, eternity. Valid anytime within 2 days. Takes 20' to be done. (Not included from Jan 2027)

Michele was so wonderful and knowledgeable. Our climb was great and the view was awesome. We were able to take our time and take it all in.
Camila was an excellent guide. She was friendly and explained all the art and history in a clear and entertaining way. I highly recommend this tour because what you will see and what you will learn is incredible!
Our guide Camilla was fabulous, very knowledgeable !
Deborah was such an incredible guide. She is a fountain of knowledge and I leant so much. Would recommend.
It was an amazing visit, our tour guide Deborah was incredibly knowledgeable and made the experience both fun and historical we couldn’t have asked for a better guide. The length of the visit was great, and the size of our group was very nice and efficient!
Amazing tour, Debra was the best!
We had a wonderful tour today! Our guide was super knowledgeable and amazing. We were provided so much history about the cathedral and baptistery which made the experience that much better. The climb isn’t for the faint of heart but is worth it when you get to the top. I was worried about climbing since I was fighting a cold but the guide stopped along the way explaining what we were seeing and it gives you a chance to catch your breath. I highly recommend this tour!
Absolutely worth the stairs! You can’t miss this tour. Had a great tour guide that was really friendly and easy to understand!
It was a fantastic experience. Our guide was very knowledgeable and very respectful of everyone’s ability. Wonderful view at the top!
Be ready for a serious climb but it is very much worth it. If you do it in the afternoon you get to see an incredible sunset. Our guide Camilla was excellent!
Laura was perfect. Knowledgeable, sweet, able to answer everything.
Camilla was fantastic. Very knowledge. Absolutely recommend.
The duomo ticket is timed at 2hrs past the tour start so if you have a tight schedule you will need at least 3+ hours to complete the full tour. If you arrive early you can do the free tour through the duomo. Great information from the tour guide.
Deborah was a wonderful guide! She was very kind and knowledgeable. She answered all of our questions and gave us many many stories about the art and history of the city. I booked last minute this morning and was lucky to find this tour that came with the entry tickets same day as the normal entry tickets are all sold out
Camilla did a fantastic job with our group. She was easy to listen to and very knowledgeable. We have done quite a few tours and she was definitely the best. Even when there was a problem with the sound system she handled it professionally and immediately.
Camilla was fantastic, didn’t take a lot of time and explained a lot. Very well done
Excellent, challenging but fun climb to top Of duomo. Carmello was great , informative . Would highly recommend!!
Camila was very educated on the tour and very well spoken we had an amazing tour
Camilla was wonderful! Very knowledgeable
Great tour with a super guide Michele ! The tour is really good to understand the church before visiting and climbing the dome Thanks a lot
Michele was a fabulous tour guide! His English was excellent, & he was very knowledgeable and engaging. I would 100% do a tour with him again!
If in doubt, just book it. It was amazing! Our travel plans changed last minute and we saw this had an opening - I’m so glad we went! We learned so much from Camilla; her passion for the city and history was so vibrant and I’m so glad I got to meet her! Huge plus that we got to skip the line and was able to go get lunch and then come back for the crypt. It was the perfect length of time that we learned the 2000 years history and still retained it all. Worth every euro!
Our Tour Guide Camilla was wonderful. While I tend to find Roman history boring, she made it so easy and delightful to listen to and understand. Absolutely take the time to use up the ticket access for the additional time that it allows if you can. Totally worth it.
The guide was passionate and knowledgeable. Was very accommodating and a lovely person.
This is the only way to experience the duomo. Camilla was informative, engaging, patient and knowledgeable. This tour and ticket includes all parts and has flexibility to explore more on your own. Learning about the baptistery and museum first allowed us to appreciate the duomo itself more.
You are told about the amount of steps you have to climb but it is hard and claustrophobic. The guide was very knowledgable.
An early start is great to avoid the lines. Highly recommend this tour with Debora! A great way to learn, experience and get a great view!
We enjoyed the commentary learning about the Duomo and Bernini and the original approach to building such a remarkable structure at the time. We had a sensational tour guide, highly recommend.
Debora was a fantastic guide. Enjoyed the museum and the view from the cupola!
I love when agencies keep in touch before the tour giving detailed information. Not only an easy to find location, but names, flag color and sign name to look for. Thanks John at Walks in Town! Laura our actual guide was amazing. Not only was she very informative, she made a point to stop and engage with everyone, even making eye contact. She was patient but prompt. Got us through all the security, to each location and to the line for climbing the dome on time. Know when things close though. Our tour started after the crypt was closing. So we did not get to go into that. Tickets are good for multiple days though if you’re going to be in town.
Everything worked as promised, clear instructions Happy with the experience
Definitely book this tour. Debora was incredibly knowledgeable and had so much pride for her city’s history. She didn’t skip a beat!
The guide didn’t introduce herself, make us feel welcome, provide any background or context on what we were seeing. She assumed a knowledge of the history that we didn’t have. She seemed disinterested and overall, the tour was very disappointing.
Debora was very knowledgeable and friendly, overall wonderful guide.
This is a great tour- I thoroughly enjoyed it. The small group consists of about 16 people. So it's not tiny, but it is not as massive as some of those cruise ship tours. Our tour started with the Baptistry, where our guide, Camilla, gave us a lot of great history. Unfortunately they were doing restoration on the ceiling mosaic, but we did get to see one part of it. Definitely worth going into, especially whenever the restoration will be finished. After that, we went to the Museo Dell'opera Del Duomo. Camilla took us on a guided tour of the museum and explained the highlights to us. We were probably inside the museum for about one hour. But it was totally worth the visit for the Michelangelo Pieta inside. If you see nothing else, go see that statue. After our time in the museum, Camilla took us to the "skip the line" line for the duomo, and then collected our headsets. She did not do the climb with us. The ticket for the tour allows you to go back at a later time and go inside the cathedral & crypt, which we never did (just ran out of time in the city). The climb itself is definitely difficult, and would be hard for people with mobility issues, but worth it for the incredible views you get of the city. I thought our guide was very knowledgeable and patient with the group, and I think the climb is worth doing if you can. Great tour, definitely recommend!
Essential tour to make in Florence. The walk up the Dome is somewhat challenging. The tour was well organised and Anastasia was very energetic and well informed on all relevant matters.
10/10 experience! Michele was very knowledgeable and entertaining. Highly recommend.
Debra was our guide. She was great, knowledgeable and super nice . Would recommend her to anyone! Timing was great and they kept up notifications to make sure where to go etc…. Great tour
Camilla was a great and knowledgeable tour guide!
Somewhat scary at times being so high up on a narrow (but protected) walkway. Some hard work to climb but fully worth it and the views are spectacular. The guide, Anastasia, was energetic and informative, managed everyone's requirements well.
My husband and I had 2 days in Florence at the beginning of our first trip to Italy and the first thing we did on the afternoon of our arrival was this tour. It was amazing. We didn’t realize that all the items from the Duomo are now located in the Duomo museum across the plaza so the Duomo is basically empty. Thankfully this tour included a tour of the museum before the actual Dome climb which really helped ground us in the history and what we were going to see in the Dome and view of the Duomo. Debra our guide was excellent. She was very knowledgeable and covered so much detail. You really need a guide for the museum or so much will be lost. After the museum, and a quick tour of the outside of the Duomo, she dropped our group off at the entrance to the Dome climb and we were off on our own to climb and explore the incredible views at the top. The bonus was because the actual Duomo and Baptistry were closed at the time of our tour, our ticket allowed us to visit these sites as well as climb the bell tower any time in the next 3 days! We did all of these other locations other than to climb the bell tower (we’d already seen the views and didn’t feel the need to climb again!) the next day before we left Florence for our next stop in Italy.
Extremely professional! It was a joy to experience this without the crowds and our guide, Michele, was kind to each individual and informative in every environment. He gave us time to enjoy the sites, to take pictures when allowed, along with plenty of information to ponder along the way.
It was very interesting and you can tell Anastasia was very passionate over her history of Florence.
Kamilia was an excellent guide
Camille was awesome, lots of great historical and artistic insights. VIP pass helps skip some of the longer lines, and extends the window to visit each site for 2-3 days.
Debora was an incredible guide!!! Great energy and paced our group perfectly. Highly recommend!!
Amazing experience highly recommend this to anyone interested in history
