What an amazing day!! Ado was a phenomenal tour guide - knowledgeable about the regions & history + very entertaining! He made the long day fun & interesting. He was resourceful when a train was cancelled & still made sure we saw all 5 towns. Ado gets 👍👍👍👍👍 from us!

Itinerary
Prepare yourself for a truly unique journey where rich history and breathtaking natural landscapes combine to create an unforgettable experience. Sit back and relax aboard your comfortable, fully equipped luxury coach as we set off toward the world-famous Cinque Terre.
Your journey from Florence to the Cinque Terre starts by coach, where you can relax as your guide shares stories about the area. You'll hear tales about the Tuscan city of Lucca and its famous resident Puccini and see the Carrara marble quarries from the distance before learning about the Cinque Terre and its five fishing villages—Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, Monterosso and Riomaggiore—that form the national park. Once you arrive in La Spezia, your expert tour leader will be there to guide you through the next part of your journey. Following their helpful instructions and insights, you’ll make your way to board the train and continue your adventure.
Arriving by train, you’ll explore the beautiful village of Manarola, one of the most iconic towns of the Cinque Terre. With its colorful houses perched above the sea, narrow lanes, and charming piazza overlooking the water, Manarola offers a truly unforgettable setting. Take time to wander through the village, enjoy the views of the Ligurian coastline, and soak up the relaxed atmosphere of this historic fishing community. For those who wish, there is also an optional walk led by your tour leader that climbs above the village to reach spectacular panoramic viewpoints. Along the way, you’ll pass through the terraced vineyards that define the Cinque Terre landscape while enjoying breathtaking views of the coastline and the sparkling sea below.
Your journey continues to Corniglia, the only village of the Cinque Terre perched high above the sea. Unlike the other towns, Corniglia sits on a rocky promontory surrounded by terraced vineyards, offering breathtaking views over the coastline and the sparkling Ligurian Sea. With its quiet charm, colorful houses, and narrow lanes, it feels like a peaceful retreat away from the crowds. Take time to wander through the small streets, admire the scenic viewpoints, and experience the authentic atmosphere of this unique village. You will also have free time to enjoy lunch, giving you the opportunity to relax at a local restaurant or café and savor the flavors of Ligurian cuisine before continuing your adventure.
After lunch comes the real adventure: a hike of approximately two miles along the medieval mule trails that skirt the cliffs and connect the hilltop towns of the Cinque Terre (if you choose the tour option without hiking, the train will be used instead to move between villages). You will leave the trail when you reach the village of Vernazza, one of the prettiest and most characteristic areas you will see on the Cinque Terre tour. Here you will have some free time to sit in one of the cheerful bars and cafés or even have a cooling swim in the sea – it’s the perfect time to get refreshed and prepare for the next part of the tour.
After departing Vernazza, the group will take a short train ride to Monterosso, a village renowned for its beautiful beach and artisan shops. Here you will have the option to relax on the golden sands, browse the shops for souvenirs or even sample some local wine.
Depending on the weather conditions the next part of the experience is an optional boat ride along the coast to Riomaggiore (subject to weather and same-day confirmation + payment), that can be reached otherwise by train. Riomaggiore is the southernmost town of the Cinque Terre and one of its most picturesque. Colorful houses cascade down the steep hillside toward the small harbor, creating the iconic scene that has made this village famous around the world.
For guests who have chosen the Pisa option, the journey concludes with a visit to this historic Tuscan city, famous around the world for its remarkable architectural treasures. Upon arrival, you will head to the spectacular Piazza dei Miracoli, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to some of Italy’s most celebrated monuments. Here you’ll have time to admire the iconic Leaning Tower of Pisa, the magnificent Cathedral, and the impressive Baptistery, all set within the beautiful green lawns of the square. Take the opportunity to capture memorable photos of the famous tower and soak in the unique atmosphere of this historic city. This visit to Pisa marks the final stop of the tour for those who have selected the Pisa option, offering a perfect ending to a day filled with unforgettable sights and experiences.
After a day filled with unforgettable sights, it’s time to relax and begin the comfortable journey back to Florence. Sit back aboard your coach and enjoy the scenic drive through the beautiful Tuscan and Ligurian landscapes as you reflect on the charming villages, breathtaking coastal views, and memorable moments of the day. You will arrive back in Florence in the evening, bringing your Cinque Terre adventure to a pleasant and relaxing conclusion.

It was a great day trip from Florence. Christian was our guide and was great! Everything was organized, thoughtful, and fun. Definitely recommend- the hike was beautiful even though it was a little cloudy.
Nice trip. The bus pickup and delivery very too far from start and stops. Had difficulty finding tour guide as they had no signage, just standing on sidewalk near train station.
Our day trip to Cinque Terre was amazing! "Ozzy" was an amazing guide and was incredibly patient juggling all of the logistics of catching trains, boats and buses. My partner and I are so glad we booked this tour. It is truly a stunning place!
That it can be tailored. You can walk or take transport. Our guide Ado was fantastic and shared a lot of history.
We had a wonderful day visiting Cinque Terre and Pisa earlier this week! Our guide Noemi was awesome, very responsible and informative throughout the entire trip. The whole trip was well organised and smoothly coordinated, with each part of the journey connecting seamlessly. She made sure everything went according to plan while sharing lots of useful information along the way~Thank you for making our day so enjoyable and memorable!
What a wonderful day! Easy ride in a comfortable coach to the train station. Great itinerary. Guide (Claudia) was really personable and not overbearing. There was a lot of freedom at the individual stops to see it as you wished and then meet back up with the group at the appointed time to take the train to the next town. The optional lunch in Corniglia was delicious and inexpensive (in a good way!). The hike was absolutely STUNNING - if your body can do it, I highly recommend taking the time to enjoy the views from the trail - especially seeing Vernazza from above as you arrive into the town. Cannot stress how beautiful Cinque Terre is. You will not regret booking this! :)
Our guide, Claudia, was very knowledgeable and attentive. My husband and I were a little slow during the hike, but Claudia was very patient with us. We had a wonderful experience. Definitely recommend!
This was a very quick way to explore all the 5 villages of cinque terre. There’s a little bit of time to explore each village and all the tour guides were amazing. If you are doing the hike it is not easy, but once you complete it you will feel so satisfied after! Our tour group had a lot of members but the tour guides did amazing making sure no one fell behind! Jojo was one of our guides and she was so nice and attentive to us!
We had an excellent tour with Luca! We were met early in the morning near the train station in Florence and walked about 10 minutes to the bus. Luca and JoJo explained sights along the way, and about an hour later, we arrived in La Spezia. We were provided train tickets, and toured 3 of the 5 beautiful villages of Cinque Terre. We got great photos and had some time to explore, buy souvenirs, walk around in each town, and had a tasty lunch around noon. Around 3:30, we took the train to Pisa to see the Leaning Tower. It was starting to get dark, and we couldn't get a timed ticket within our hour window to see inside the cathedral, but it was still an amazing sight! Luca was an awesome tour guide; friendly and helpful! We'd love to do another tour with him! Thanks, Luca!
There is one guide to help you navigate your way around. You take a bus and then hop on public trains. We went during a relatively non- busy time of year but I can imagine this could get complicated if it were busy
It’s a long day but worth it. Our guide, Jo Jo did a great job managing a group of 27. Each person could tailor the tour to their abilities. She ensured everyone got to each of the five villages safely. She was a joy.
Ado with walkabout tours was wonderful!!. So friendly and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend to anyone that wants to do the day trip from Florence. Comfortable Coach ride and plenty of time to explore.
Very well planned, organized, incredibly efficient utilization of time, which allowed maximum enjoyment. Our guide was excellent, great personality ! Loved the whole experience. Hopefully we’ll use Viator again for adventures on our next trip.
What a day packed with diverse experiences and stunning scenery. Our guide Joann (Jojo) was fantastic, especially given the complicated coordination of trains and agendas. She did the work of two guides, endless energy, keeping us on time and sharing so much background info. Loved the hiking option, and stopping for fresh orange slushies to refresh in the middle. A memorable day of scenery, food, and fellow travelers. Big thanks to Jo!
Alot of walking but well worth it. Absolutely beautiful scenery and food. A must see! Our guide Jojo was excellent and we were well taken care of.
We don’t usually book trips so this was a great first experience. It was a good mix of being led and having time to ourselves. The places we visited were stunning. Jean Luca was an amazing guide. Very friendly, passionate and knowledgeable. He led us to some great locations, pointing out the best views. Thank you
Amazing Tour with Luca! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had an amazing experience with Luca from Walkabout! He was an excellent tour guide—knowledgeable, friendly, patient, and genuinely passionate about what he was showing us. He made the history and stories come alive and kept the tour interesting and enjoyable from beginning to end. Luca was also very attentive to everyone in the group and made sure we were comfortable and having a great time. You could really tell that he loves what he does, and that made the experience even more special. I would highly recommend booking a tour with Luca. If you get him as your guide, you’re in great hands! He truly made our day memorable. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This was a nice excursion up to the Cinque Terre. Great way to get a taste of the area in one day. Our guide, Noemi, was extremely professional, spoke excellent English and was very organized. About 2 hours each way on a bus, but you have time to explore these towns, have lunch or hike. Very beautiful region that we would return to, having seen it on this excursion.
This day trip to Cinque Terre from Florence was absolutely worth it. We booked this trip because we were a little nervous about coordinating the travel between all five towns in one day, and this tour made it very easy! Our guide Angela, from walkabout tours, truly made the experience special with great recommendations for food, gelato and local specialties. The hike was a real highlight and really gives you a better appreciation for the terrain and geography that make this area so beautiful and unique. Also, Angela organized a wonderful lunch for us at a great restaurant with a beautiful view. This experience was totally worth it, and it really was a stress free way to see all five villages in one day. Highly recommended, it was one of the highlights of our trip to Italy!
Jo was an AMAZING tour guide! She was knowledgeable about every place we went to. Knew all the places to eat at each spot and made sure to take us to all the best picture spots and take pictures for us! She also made sure to get us out of the crowds especially on the trains so we could almost always have seats and she could talk to us about the next thing on the itinerary. We loved ever second of this trip!
Cinque terre so worth it, even if very touristy. It’s gorgeous. Ado and Chris were fantastic guides!
Hiking isa must-do item for this day trip to Cinque Terre, as it's an amazing and unforgettable experience. Don't miss the chance, friends.
Coco Constance was our guide and did a great job! The options on this tour seemed overwhelming at first but she made each step clear. She is knowledgeable, patient and friendly. She took us to three of the five lands plus Pisa. It was a full day but we don’t regret a minute of it.
Fantastic experience! Ado and his crew were great! Lots of tidbits beyond just the tour. A definite recommendation!
We had such a great time on our tour with Jean-Luc! He was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience really enjoyable. The views of the ocean and all the charming little towns were absolutely beautiful. It was definitely one of our favorite parts of our trip to Italy. We would highly recommend Cinque Terre and Jean-Luc!
We had a great time. Cinque Terre is so beautiful with terrific views. We also really enjoyed the hike.
A great day from start to finish. Our guide Jean Luca was fun, friendly and very knowledgeable. The tour enabled us to see lots of locations by bus and train with plenty of time at each place to explore and enjoy refreshments with great views! Due to the weather, the boat trip was unavailable on the day we took part, but that did not spoil the day at all. Ending at the Tower of Pisa with a beautiful pink sky at sunset was perfect!
This is an excellent tour if you want to sort of dip your toe in Cinque Terre. The entire day was well-organized and ran very smoothly. Walkabout Florence Tours seems to have it down to a science. It is a very long and full day, but we really enjoyed it. We got to experience three of the five villages: spectacular views, delicious food, and a unique region of Italy. Visiting Pisa at the end of the day was another special aspect of this tour. Getting to see the Tower in person was surreal! I can't say enough good things about our guide, Gianluca. He was terrific! He is knowledgeable and considerate. Gianluca explained things thoroughly and gave us clear instructions. He's a real gem! I highly recommend this tour and Gianluca!
Pisa was much much better than I expected. Cinque Terre was phenomenal. If you’re in Florence, this is, other than the long bus ride, a great opportunity. I thought the guide was five star in explanation of what we’re gonna see how we were gonna see it and what we needed to do. Very satisfied with this excursion, will recommend it.
We had a great time guided by Jo, Claudia and Angie!! The hike was difficult but worth it! Guides were helpful, knowledgeable, and encouraging
Johanne, Claudia, and Angela took great care of us and made sure to tell us about the hidden gems and best things to do in each place. I would recommend bringing hiking shoes if you do the hike. The hike is about 1 to 1.5 hours and trail could be muddy. Dress in layers too. I did the hike in October and it gets hot as you power through the trail. Amazing views from the mountain top during the hike, and I would recommend the ferry/boat back.
Very lovely tour of Cinque Terre and Pisa. Ado was a great tour guide. Would recommend this tour to family/friends
This is an amazing trip. Ado was AMAZING and this is a must see area of Italy. Highly recommend to anyone!!!
We had a great time on our trip to Cinque Terre. It was a bucket list trip for my family and did not disappoint. We were also fortunate to have great weather. My family opted for the 5-town Cinque Terre trip with hiking and the optional boat ride. Our guides JoJo and Anna (who we called the dynamic duo) did absolutely everything they could to make this trip enjoyable. They were extremely friendly and outgoing, well organized, and provided excellent tips. In our case my wife was a little concerned with how difficult the hiking between Cornelia and Vernazza and would be on her knees. Jojo and Anna told us there was no pressure, that if we chose to opt out of the hike it was no problem and that we could use the ~400 steps up from the train to Corniglia as our guide. As a result, my family was more comfortable opting out of the hike and spending more time in Vernazza. I was bummed because I wanted to take some of the iconic town pictures from the trail. Jojo helped us and told us where to pick up the blue trail in Vernazza and hike part of it in reverse. It was perfect for us! Not as long of a hike, I was able to get family pictures at the iconic scenery spots, and we had more time in Vernazza! She also provided great recommendations for food, where to get souvenirs at the best prices, and the best sights to see in the various towns. I would also highly recommend both the boat tour option and the group lunch. (Both very reasonably priced). The lunch at Cecio Ristorante Camere was very good, had a friendly staff and had awesome views. As the trip wound down, both JoJo and Anna went around the bus asking people if they could help provide info for other destinations we were planning. Again, very helpful and friendly to the point people were giving them hugs at the end of the trip. Highly recommend! The only thing we would want people to know is that if you opt to do the group lunch and boat trip, know that you will need to pay for those in cash collected on the bus. It is done that way to ensure our group didn’t spend a lot of time trying to process credit cards at both sites. It made sense and fortunately we had the cash on us, but others had to seek out ATMs at our 1st stop.
Wonderful experience. Our guides, JoJo and Luca, made a long day fly by with their interesting commentary and incredible organization. They enabled us to explore on our own or to participate with the group when desired. They provided great advice, especially about the hiking (could be slippery and a bit muddy, and it was, but was still wonderful!) When planning I was concerned about the group size but we were divided into groups and it worked perfectly. The bus driver (Giuseppe) provided a smooth and expeditious ride. All in all a great experience. Thanks to JoJo and Luca!
Very well organized to see a beautiful area. Alex the guide was very helpful and informed. He was also entertaining. =). A very fun trip
Well organised tour to Cinque terre and Pisa. It was a long day but our tour guide Giancarlo was exceptional who was informative, knowledgeable and friendly. He took care of every participant during this tour. Highly recommended this tour especially tour guide Giancarlo.
It is a long day trip and be prepared to be back in town around 9 PM. The trip is an absolute pleasure as you move from one village to another. The guide Claudia was very good with instructions and guidances.. We had a very good experience and enjoyed the trip very much.
The day trip was amazing and our guides, Ana and Jojo were great. We would highly recommend this tour to other.
We did the Cinque Terre tour with hiking and our guide for the day was Jo/Joan. She was very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. The tour was also quite flexible and Jo had recommendations for everyone based on what they wanted to do. If you have the option to do the boat ride, highly recommend it. Awesome way to see our journey and get to the last village on the itinerary. Lunch with Jo was fantastic; really good pesto pasta. The hiking was a great way to see the coastline. This is a moderate level path with uneven steps and steeps hills in the first half, but the rest is easy. However, please wear proper hiking clothes. In conclusion, this tour is awesome if you want to visit all villages in one day.
Guide Claudia was great and interactive, but to see all five places from Florence means moving quick. Free time about right given speed.
Claudia was informative , friendly and helpful . The boat ride is a must! Wish we had more time in Monterosso Al Mare .
Really a great way to get to and from the 5 towns…Claudia was our guide and is fabulous. The hike was no joke, but very doable for me (60 yr old & 70 yr old partner). Wear a hat or sunscreen. We loved all the little towns and had just enough time in each stop. Also recommend boat ride add on. Walked approximately 10 miles during the tour day.
We are very happy with this tour. the tour guy Luca is very nice and knowledgeable person, he explained us everything and took us to the most beautiful area. He is an enthusiastic young man who took great care of everyone along the way of the tour. Jojo did a good job too.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely Breathtaking Experience – Highly Recommend! The Cinque Terre Day Trip with Pisa from Florence was an absolutely amazing experience! Although it was a long day, the breathtaking scenery, charming villages, and stunning coastal views made every minute worthwhile. Our tour guide, Cristiano, was fantastic! He was incredibly knowledgeable, courteous, and professional, making the entire experience both enjoyable and memorable. His passion for the area and helpful recommendations truly enhanced our day. One of the highlights was the additional boat tour that Cristiano recommended. It was absolutely phenomenal! Seeing the colorful villages and spectacular coastline from the water was an unforgettable experience and well worth adding to the itinerary. If you're visiting Florence and considering this excursion, don't hesitate! The beauty of Cinque Terre is something you have to experience in person. A huge thank-you to Cristiano for helping make this such a wonderful and memorable adventure! Highly recommend!
Fabulous trip! Jo did a great job! Kept us informed and on-time. The hike was challenging but worth it. Boat ride was beautiful! Highly recommend!
This was a fantastic trip! So beautiful!! They handled all the travel plans. Easily moved from bus to train and travel. Our guide Claudia and Kisha were exceptional. They both kept us informed, very knowledgeable about the areas. Highly recommend this day trip!
We were excited to see all 5 villages and so glad we took this day trip! Also did the boat tour and got to see all 5 villages along the coast. Breathtaking views!
