It was a great tour. Alessio was an excellent guide and very friendly. Our whole family liked him. Riding the ebikes in the busy city center is not for the faint of heart, but the tour in the countryside is worth the risk.

This tour is a lovely day out in the hills around Florence. The guide was friendly and helpful and we (2 men aged 61 and 71) had a great day UNTIL, on the return, we had an accident. In our opinion, the guide (who knew the roads so well) was riding too fast and we felt pressured to keep up. One of us hit a pot hole in the road and fell, and the other went over the top. We were both transported to hospital via ambulance. The last contact we had from the tour company was on the roadside. Not once did they reach out to enquire how we were or about the extent of our injuries. One of us was released from emergency on the day with stitches and bandaged arm wounds, the other spent 4 days in hospital with broken bones, broken nose, a head injury, and hand and face wounds. It wasn't until we returned to the tour operator to collect belongings, and enquire about the Euro200 fee they charged us, that they became aware of the seriousness of the injuries. They then chose to reach out by email and acknowledge the injuries and provide a break down of the costs they incurred to repair the e-bike. It was unfortunate that an accident occurred however the tour operator could have done better, and for sure, the guide should not have been riding at the speed they were travelling. So, beware the operator has no insurance for you personally for accidents they may contribute to.
We had a wonderful ride with Alessio!! Perfect way to spend part of our honeymoon and had a great group as well! The wine and lunch was fabulous and the views were out of this world!! Would definitely recommend to do this to get out of the city a bit and see the countryside!
Great trip. Excellent informative friendly guide. Alessio was great! Delicious food. Beautiful views.
It was an incredible experience, Alesso was our guide and he did a great job explaining and guiding us thru all the experience.
Alesso was amazing and such a great guide. Gelato and Chianti Reserve at restaurant were perfect. Ebike is the way to go and everyone was so nice.
Great day out! Beutiful countryside, top guide and good lunch. Good to see Florence beyond the city walls.
What a fun-filled day we had on this e-bike tour! Our guide, Alessio, was informative, patient, attentive, caring and just a joy to be with. Definitely recommend doing this tour with him!
The tour was great, e-bikes worked well and the effort required (this is not for the faint hearted!!) was repaid with fabulous views and great roads. Bring your own water bottle and bag as none were provided. There was quite a bit of us shooting off after our guide but no one was lost and we all had a fab day.
Alessio was an incredible tour and the wine and food was delicious. Amazing views of the Chianti countryside and coming out of Florence.
Alessio was a fantastic guide and ride leader. Always anticipating any challenges we may have had w the riding, guiding us on a wonderful tour through the Tuscan hills outside Florence and back, answering our questions and always keeping our safety first. My best experience in Italy thus far, in my week here in this gorgeous country!
Parts of Florence we would have never seen! So beautiful. Marco was terrific and made sure everyone in the group we together and safe. Highly recommend!
Very hard ride even with e-bike. Need to be experienced rider. Only one wine tasting. The 2nd is actually only a bar w wine No water or bathroom breaks until lunch. Felt like we should have a tour guide in front and back of group for chains off etc.
Francesco was fantastic and the trip was beyond words. VERY well worth it during the 23 mile ride! Would do this again!!
The views on the tour were beautiful however if you are not at least 5 foot 5”, then using these bikes will be extremely challenging for you to safely maneuver through the challenging city streets and narrow country roads. The bikes are not meant to accommodate shorter adults and I was unable to stop the bike safely as a result. The description of this tour does not truly explain how physically fit you need to be to complete the ride, my friend and I were truly humbled. Ensure you wear athletic clothing, comfortable athletic shoes (that have potential to get dirty with bike grease), and prepare for a long day. I recommend a backpack to carry your own water bottle. The tour guide Alessio was very kind and patient and knowledgeable of the area and provided Awesome historical facts. However, it was easy at some points to get lost as he Often sped ahead without ensuring the group was close behind him. The lunch was absolutely delicious and we enjoyed the wine and olive oil. The second wine stop is back in Florence, which was disappointing as we thought it would be a second winery in Chianti (will say the fruit provided at the stop was a refreshing touch at the end of an exhausting ride!). This ride is 26 miles or 40 km, my friend and I were not aware of that information prior to the tour. Also be prepared the tour may be longer than 6 hours.
A good day in a lovely atmosfere
Fantastisk views, and safe trip together with knowledgiable Alessio
Good experience, the guide knows a lot about the region and about wine. The traffic on the roads wasn’t times heavy, so you have to be fit for this tour
Alessio was a fun and excellent knowledgeable guide, plenty of stops to admire views of Florence and the Tuscan countryside. A refreshing break from the city! The winery/farm we visited was beautiful, had great authentic Italian food and wines. The e-bikes are super fun and easy.
This was an excellent bike tour - the region is perfect for exploring via e-bikes and the route we took was great. The only part I didn't rate was the lunch served at the winery - it was well below average for the amount charged, a couple of slices of meat followed by packet pasta coated with basic tomato sauce with a bit of chilli powder. Not the type of food expected when visiting a winery for lunch.
Thanks so much for such a wonderful experience! I had the best day, beautiful scenery, fantastic wine tasting and lunch. We could not have asked for a better guide (Andrea) who was so friendly and knowledgable.
Thoroughly enjoyed the bike ride. Got to see a lot of Florence that we never would have. Marco did a great job of leading us while letting us bike independently. We never felt like we were going to get lost or that we had someone hovering over us which really elevated the experience. Marco was knowledgeable and passionate about his job and it comes through on the tour. Highly recommend!
Great day with guide Alexandro as we cycled over 40 km in and then out of Florence to the surrounding hills. Guide was knowledgeable and helpful as we enjoyed a great lunch and wine tour. We even had a glass of wine and cold fruit to end the day at a restaurant back in town. Great value for money. Not for the weak of heart, even with the e-bikes, especially on a blistering hot day.
One of the tour stops turned into a private home and we got yelled at and ran out of the place. We also did not receive our lunch or two drinks. It wasn’t what we expected at all.
Our tour guide Andrea was a kind and spectacular tour guide! He was so attentive and caring, he was very accommodating to us during the tour. The tour was beautiful and so fun! All thanks to wonderful Andrea!
Wonderful excursion to see the countryside and taste local food and wine! Great guide and fellow travelers
Beautiful countryside, wonderful wine, a strong e-bike and an outstanding guide. It was a good pace.
I feel bad leaving this review because our guide was nice but this is a honest review of our tour. It felt very unsafe the whole time. Our guide wove through busy city traffic and did not wait for the group. The only reason half our group didn’t get lost multiple times was because one of the other group members noticed the guide wasn’t waiting and stayed back to help the others find their way. We traveled on busy, narrow, dangerous roads the entire way to the wine tasting. The bikes were in poor condition and every single group member was covered in oil on the back of their legs that was VERY hard to get off and one bike had so many issues that the guide had to ride it instead, making that person use the guides bike which seemed heavier than the rest of the bikes because of the bags hanging on it to hold one bottle of water for each member of the group. The bikes didn’t have baskets, water bottle holders or anything so it was hard to bring your own source of water, sunscreen, or belongs, which were all extremely necessary due to the intense heat. Thankfully when one of the bikes broke the same group member who waited for the others, was also able to fix the bike, with out that person we would have been stuck waiting for the company to come replace, or fix the bike. The guide did not know how to fix it. Multiple people in the group fell or crashed because of how uneasy the road conditions were, leading to cut legs and arms. We left the tour early before the last wine tasting stop because we were so anxious about our safety and exhausted. I will say, the winery we stopped at for lunch was great and simple food. Very needed by the time we arrived, although others in the group were underwhelmed by the amount of effort put into the food. It was toasted bread with their home grown olive oil, a few meats, pasta, and a tart bar for dessert.
Our guide made the tour so great! He was patient and fun
We absolutely loved our e-bike tour! I’m writing this a month later, so I can’t recall our tour guide’s name, but he was wonderful; friendly and very knowledgeable with historical information. We took a route up into the Chianti Hills above Florence, through back roads and scented countryside. Stunning views, two wine tastings, one with lunch and one down in the city with snacks. This was one of the highlights of our month long trip to Italy. I would highly recommend it, if you enjoy biking, good food and wine, and exploring the region.
Fun, yet challenging day on our bike tour with Fred. The e bikes are great, uphill is still a bit of a workout so don’t think it’s all easy riding. We had some great viewpoints of both Florence city and the Tuscan countryside. Lunch and wine tasting at the farm winery were lovely. End the day with another tasting and snack back in Florence which we also really enjoyed. Fred was a great and knowledgeable guide. Overall a really nice way to spend a day in Florence
Exhilarating challenging unexpected
Amazing trip cycling through the Tuscany hills exploring a local vineyard. Our tour group included a 70 year old, with E-bikes make it suitable for all. Stunning views and a chance to soak up the countryside. So well organised. Our tour leader Michel & wine expert were exceptional. I could not recommend more highly.
So worth it and would recommend to anyone and any skill. Michel was an amazing guide!
Beautiful bike tour!! But I would not emphasis the “tour” part. Our guide didn’t say much… I actually had to ask him what his name was before we started biking through city center. There wasn’t a safety briefing or any tips on how to use the bikes. A couple folks struggled to get the gears working with the e bike on the hills which was stressful in the middle of a busy road. Overall, it was hard to have a bad time in a beautiful place with perfect weather but the tour guide left a lot to be desired.
What amazing views with a stop at a lovely winery in the Tuscan countryside. Our guide, Grace, was wonderful. Attentive, knowledgeable, and funny! This tour was definitely a lot of work and tiring, but well worth it! My 15 year old son handled it very well…despite some of the more congested areas on the streets thru the city of Florence and up into the winding roads of the county side. Dress comfortably and be ready to pedal.
Wonderful day, sara the guide was lovely. The tuscan hills are magical. So much food and wine to taste. Highly recommend. The ebikes are a must for those big hills!
This was our favorite tour in Italy. Even with the e-bikes, your quads will get a workout. There is a lot of uphill biking. This tour starts in the city. You will bike with vehicle traffic and pedestrians until you get out of the city. Our tour guide was pleasant. We stopped several places for photos. Lunch was restful and delicious. And towards the end we stopped at another place for appetizers and wine.
This was such a fun way to see the countryside of the Chianti hills. And a nice break from the cities and museums. It was so beautiful. And the little family owned vineyard lunch stop was great.
We had a wonderful time! Loved seeing the country side. The e-bikes were a little tricky for some. The introduction to the bikes was quick and we had one person try to make it up the first hill without the assist on, several didn’t understand the gears and were worn out with the strenuous peddling up hill( a little more time with instruction at the beginning for non pros to understand would be helpful.) I’m a very short legged person at 5’2” and 57 years I struggled to be able to easily hop off and on the bike and even fell over (fortunately into grass) at one spot were I wasn’t able to step onto level or higher ground(curbs were nice for me to be able to pull up next to so I could get one foot on it to prop during stops.) The first wine tasting was great. A short info session, wine tasting and a light meal. One suggestion I would have for our tour was the ride after our first wine tasting. It would have been wonderful to have more time to stop for photos. There was more beautiful hill sides and a waterfall that we sped past to get to a second wine tasting that was more of just drinking a glass of wine and sitting around a table than a wine taste. I would have preferred more time going slowly and having a few stops for photos on that last part of the journey. Overall an enjoyable excursion.
Highly recommended for all lovers of cycling, nature, gastronomy, and adventure. You must be a cyclist and know how to handle a bike well in various conditions, including roads, climbs, and groups. The experience is unique, with beautiful views of Florence, scenery reminiscent of a Van Gogh painting, and top-quality service and attention to detail in the culinary experience.
This was a wonderful experience. I left the trip tired but somehow very energized the exercise the view the company and the guide we’re all fantastic. I learned so much and felt like I really saw and experienced Firenze!
It was a partial e bike assistance but it wasn’t the kind of e bike I was thinking it would be, I was dissatisfied with how little it helped you. I also told them I am gluten free and vegetarian and it wasn’t easy for them to accommodate, I also mentioned I would like to have something instead of wine and they gave me wine both places. The tour guide also could have been much better! He was not very passionate. He didn’t give good signaling for turns, and the group kept getting lost.
We enjoyed it very much! Alex the guide was great. I found the handle bars (to the brakes) a bit large for asian women hands.
If you are comfortable riding a bike, including in an urban environment around busy city streets and have some reasonable physical stamina, this tour is a wonderful way to visit the beautiful Chiant area outside of Florence. The wine tasting and lunch was very nice. The scenery was gorgeous. The tour guide provided excellent history on Florence and the local culture. Just be sure you are comfortable riding a bike in a busy setting with cars and buses sharing the road with you!
We had an amazing time on our e-biking tour through Tuscany! Our guide, Davide, was absolutely fantastic — knowledgeable, engaging, and so much fun to spend the day with. He shared great insights about the region, made sure everyone was comfortable on the bikes, and kept the energy high from start to finish. The scenery was breathtaking, and the whole experience felt both adventurous and relaxed. Highly recommend this tour and especially Davide! 🌿 Short & Warm Review (for Google/TripAdvisor): Our Tuscany e-bike tour was incredible! Davide was the perfect guide — knowledgeable, engaging, and full of enthusiasm. He made the day fun, informative, and unforgettable.
Was a fantastic day and amazing views of Florence. I am not an experienced bike rider but survived the day and had a lot of fun! The views from the Chianti area are so beautiful and well worth the bike ride up. The electric bikes certainly make it a lot easier than it would be on a regular bike.
Amazing day out of the city exploring the Tuscan countryside via the e-bikes. Michaela was a great guide, showed us some extra special spots and views. Overall excellent value for money, restaurant served good food and the wine was great. Overall highly recommend if you’re looking for a great day out of the busy tourist centre with some time overlooking beautiful vistas.
The scenery in Chianti is undeniably stunning, and the e-bike route itself had great potential. Unfortunately, the pace of the tour made it difficult to truly enjoy the experience. Our guide was courteous, but seemed impatient with the group and maintained a speed more suited to a race than a leisurely countryside ride. It often felt like we were in the Tour de France - eyes glued to the road, with little chance to take in the views. There were no meaningful stops to learn about the region or its landmarks, and the wine tastings, while pleasant, lacked any real explanation of what we were drinking or what food was being served. It would have added a lot to have some context or storytelling along the way. Also worth noting: bathroom breaks were few and far between, and it would be helpful if the tour included a heads-up about that in advance. Overall, it was a beautiful ride - but one that could have been greatly improved with a slower pace, a few more stops, and some thoughtful commentary to connect us with the place we were speeding through.
What a fun day. I was a little concerned about the length of the bike ride to begin with but cycling with an awesome group of people and using a good e-bike meant it wasn’t a problem. We had a lot of fun and Marco was an excellent guide. The wine tasting and lunch were very nice. A great day making lasting memories.
