60+ couple with 1 knee replacement and we made it to the top on a very hot day with no issues. A great experience.

It's valid for several days but I managed it all in one go as I wasn't in Florence long. I went in March and chose the 10am slot- queues were short at this time. The views are spectacular from the dome and the bell tower! Take water
The Doumo walk is a lot of stairs, be prepared. Entrance via the crypt avoiding the long cathedral lines. Lovely fresco in the dome tho dramatic scenes. Well worth viewing as you go up the stairs.
Very little info provided. Just a couple short audio clips
clear communication and hassle free entry! we had no trouble entering the cupola, giotto’s tower, and the museo dell’opera!
The dome climb is not for those with mobility issues. Very rewarding once you reach the top. perfect weather is a big key to maximizing the experience. We did not experience other options from the package, but overall is a great box checker!!
Great experience. Easy use. Recommended to buy tickets for exhibits for ease and quickness. All the spaces were easy to get into especially when it’s really busy.
John was a great guide. We followed his instructions on where to go and it was super smooth. I recommend downloading the PDF to the phone. You need this to enter all exhibits so being familiar with the PDF and making it large so the readers see it. We needed it for the dome twice, the cyrpt entry to the Duomo (near the bell tower), the cyrpt entry in the basilica and the bapteristy. All the entry people if you had the PDF accessible. There are line but just follow these for the entries with tickets. You can wait until the afternoon too. John is great and respsonsive if you have questions, he was great.
Great experience appreciate John’s help made for great day
Stunning, most beautiful way to see all of Florence! But before you do make sure you are ready to climb a lot of stairs. 463 to be exact!
We were not able to use our voucher at the Dome, we had no way to print it out so the staff at the Dome refused us entry- so $160 wasted- never again
Fantastic from start to finish, I cannot recommend highly enough this experience Tickets arrived promptly and with no issue ant fault supplier
A truly awe inspiring building , from arriving outside , entering inside and then climbing to the top,,, quite extreme climb but well worth the effort And the guide was so informative and helpful
Brunelleschi's Dome and Cathedral Complex Reserved Ticket (3-Day Pass) The electronic ticket scanning process was quick and easy, and the guides at each gate were friendly and helpful. We unfortunately missed our appointed time to climb the dome, but the staff kindly informed us that we could return and wait in line at any time to make the climb, which was a nice surprise. The 3-day pass is a simple, affordable, and flexible way to experience all the highlights of the Cathedral Complex at your own pace. It’s perfect for those who want to take their time exploring and revisiting the stunning sites of Florence. Highly recommend!
This was a 10/10 experience HOWEVER, I don’t know where I missed this detail but your Trip Advisor voucher with the bar code is not the ticket needed for entry. It needs to be the ticket for the Brunelleschi Pass B2B (the official ticket) for entry. No one at the Cathedral or Dome will be able to help you. We had to call the number on the “Walks in Town” website and once we did that, the person, who was awesome btw, told me the tickets were in my What’s App and also texted them to me immediately. All was right with the world and we made it back to the line in time!
Tickets worked without issue, and communications were clear and precise. We used our slotted time for the climb to the Cupola, and then access to the Baptistry and Crypt the following days. No problems. I’d recommend that buyers print the tickets and also e-mail and/or screenshot them for the follow up visits….the link through TripAdvisor “expires” after the first use or at the end of the scheduled climb day. A must do in Firenze! But the warnings about the steps and climb are no joke. It’s 480+ steps up steep and circular staircases and could feel claustrophobic to some.
You are definitely on your own . There is no one to give you information if you need it. I had trouble with the tickets . It was a bit confusing
Wonderful experience. Awe inspiring. Little wonder Florence is one of the most artistic communities in Italy. One of history’s highlights.
Outstanding opportunity to see the inside of the cathedral.. the Michael Angelo cuppola...and all of Firenze from the top. Beautiful. The steps are not for the faint of heart, legs, or lungs. Im 68 yrs old..in great shape and did just fine. Several did not. The last 50 steps are straight up!! Is a MUST experience!
Great tickets that get you into every site. The museum is huge so dedicate some time to it. Comfortable shoes are a must and it wouldn’t hurt to practice some cardio before doing the dome or the tower.
We climbed to the top of the Duomo and it was amazing! I surprised myself that I could actually do it… 493 steps!! Whoo hoo!
Lots of steeps put worth it for the view buying ticket in advance of long wait in quews not good if a hot day
This would have been a five out of five but the reception we received at the bell tower was terrible. The woman was rude and abrasive and unwilling to answer questions about where we should be. She was the same with several others. That said, the museum was incredible and well worth the visit. So many beautiful artifacts and much information. The climb up the Duomo dome was not difficult (I am 67) and the view spectacular. Well worth it. Overall a great experience with the one exception with someone who was having a bad day. Don’t we all once in a while.
Of course the Duomo was fantastic. But I have to commend John who worked with my wife and I. He was extremely responsive and helpful a number of times when I was having difficulty with the tickets. John is an asset to your company.
You’re entirely on your own and there are many entrances and no one to tell you which is the right. All they can tell you is that the one you tried was wrong.
Was good to go early and skip the big queues, climb was great as got to see all the brickwork on the steps on the way up, awesome view of the frescos on the inside of the dome and the view from the top was breathtaking!
Excellent experience Not an easy walk up, the stairs are small in places and angled sometimes very weird for some people. HOWEVER, it is well worth it: There is a certain connection you develop with other climbers and the feeling is awesome when you reach the top. Many places to stop and rest along. I would definitely recommend doing it. The dome is covered i side by a beautiful and frightening painting which is worth seeing up close.
Great experience all round. Tickets were sent via WhatsApp the evening before. Easy to download to phone and worked fine for entrance to The Dome climb, fast track entrance to crypt, cathedral,Opera museum, bell tower, and Baptistry. Climb to the top of the dome was fine as a few places to stop, so not 400bplus steps in one go and view from the top of the Dome was breathtaking.
We never received our tickets. Eventually, we found someone who said they were with the company and finally sent us our tickets, but missed our time and we could never get into the Dome.
Ion or John emailed me my passes and instructions the evening before and everything worked great. The walk up the Duomo is worth it
What a joke! The line to get into the Duomo was about 3 hours long to get into. The line didn’t move one foot for over half an hour. This site doesn’t have skip the line. So why buy the ticket through Viator? You pay more but since you have to wait in line anyway buy it direct cheaper. Live and learn. Probably won’t use Viator in the future. Very disappointed.
Wow! Absolutely fantastic. A range of experiences all different. The Dome and view was amazing. Exactly like the pics. The view outweighed the steps. Amazing.
Would recommend as seamless process from booking on trip advisor to using to access The Dome and other buildings included in you 3 day pass. We received detailed and timely information via WhatsApp which was all correct and useful as we did this solo with no tour guide. No issues at all which was great as sometimes you can be anxious booking in advance. Would definitely recommend going before 9am when it’s less busy and cooler as the climb is quite arduous! Thank you for the great service!!
Be prepared for stairs of the lifetime. A lot of narrow stairs. Not set up for anybody that can be claustrophobic at all. Was very educational glad we did it. The View was amazing although rushed up top it was a very large group that had to get up there a smaller group would have been much better. Because the climb takes so long depending on where you are in that group will depend on how much time you have at the top.
Beautiful and very knowledgeable tour guide. Definitely an experience to do on your visit in Florence.
My daughter (14) and I, enjoyed being able to pick and choose when we would do our visits. The climb through the dome was lovely, just be prepared for a long climb! Bringing water was really helpful. We loved going inside the Cathedral, the baptistry, the museum, and bell tower to learn about some history, at our own pace. The entry time to climb the Dome, is the only scheduled thing. We got to skip the line, however, there was about 30-40 minute wait there. We did this excursion in the end of July, so it was a very busy time. Well worth it though. Once you get to the top, the view is incredible!
Beautiful place, not as busy as we thought. The cathedral is obviously central to a trip to Florence. However, there is many things do to as well. Not as expensive or as touristy as I'd have expected. When compared to other European landmarks. Very typical of Italy, clean, polite, peaceful.
This was, essentially, the same ticket you can purchase in advance on the Florence Duomo site to climb to the top of the dome. It was just sold a more than double the price. Next time I will buy my ticket direct from the actual website to save!
We bought this because the regular ticket from the direct seller was sold out. I am glad we were able to climb the dome, though I do wish I didn't have to pay double or triple the price. Word to the wise... if you are going to Florence, plan out when all these tickets go on sale so that you can buy them at the normal price. Make sure that you will absolutely be able to make it to your dome climb. We almost didn't because our train to Florence from our previous destination was cancelled and then our new train was delayed. Thankfully, we made it on time. This is most definitely a climb!! I bought this ticket so that we could do both the dome climb and the bell tower climb. We were so sore and tired after the dome climb (maneuvering our heavy luggages around trains and stations that day probably didn't help either) that we never did the tower climb or several other things on this ticket. We probably could've just bought the dome climb and saved some money.
Be prepared! As soon as we entered the Duomo we were ushered immediately up the stairs to the dome. There was no warning or greeting. It was very hot. Take water with you. It's a long climb but well worth the trip. We had a Rick Steve's book with us so we knew what we were looking at. We did not have a personal guide.
If you’re claustrophobic or not reasonably fit I would not recommend this climb… it’s narrow and hot with limited ventilation at times. But if you are able to do the climb the views are rewarding
The climb up the Dome was challenging but well worth the effort. The Museum is incredible and really informative. Great that, other than the booked time to climb the Dome, the tickets are valid for anytime so you don't have to cram it all into one day
This is a self guided tour. My daughter and I had to call Jon after I had a major freak out as I was anticipating meeting a guide. Jon was so kind and calmed me down by telling me where to go to get our tickets. These tickets were good for the sites connected to the dome and Duomo. We did make the climb to the top and the views of Florence were gorgeous. We also went to the museum, the crypt, and the bell tower. The fact that we had no guide made the day easier. We were able stop and get a cappuccino, eat, lunch, etc at our convenience.
Great experience. Definitely do before 10am in order to minimize waiting in line in summer. Also, NO BACKPACKS!! The people who were first in line and were sent away for not reading signs totally screwed themselves! A shopping bad without lots of pockets and zippers, fanny pack or purse are fine.
Go to the ticket office and get your tickets - this is not hassle free and no different from the cheaper official tickets.
Worth it just to skip the horribly long lines. Plus, once you are in, you can do everything but the dome climb at your own pace, which is nice.
One of the world's wonders and it did not disappoint. The ticket is for an allocated time slot to avoid overcrowding. This is not flexible - be there or miss out. 460+ steps and around 30 floors up with no defibrillators - so any issues and you will continue on to Heaven! Once up to the top, views are 360 degrees and stunning. Very narrow staircases, so best leave any baggage at the hotel. You can really feel the dome curve as you descend from the top. Tickets through Trip Advisor were quick, simple and delivered to the mobile phone as promised - but expensive compared with the local price. However locally it was sold out. I guess companies buy up the options. To avoid this, book locally on-line but book early. Tickets get access to several other Cathedral related items, so overall, from UK, not too bad.
long way up & down (60’s & fit) but amazing trip. well worth the exertion (and no need for gym that day!).
Guided tours can become monotonous and long. We appreciated this one because it was a self guided, at your own pace tour. We could see the things we wanted to see and skip those that we did not….
There isn’t a guide for this experience — you simply receive your ticket the night before and line up during your assigned time window for the Duomo climb. We did encounter a technical issue with receiving our tickets, but the company was very diligent and ensured we had them by the morning. They went above and beyond to make sure we didn’t miss out on this incredible experience.
