Had an excellent tour with my guide Giacomo, who was very professional, gave me tremendous insight into the area around Florence, prior to going to see the art gallery, and David. We tour through the streets, getting detailed information about the history. Once we got into the gallery, he offered tremendous insight into the works of Michelangelo, lots of beautiful and very interesting artwork was featured and got a good understanding into the background and the style and philosophy of Michelangelo. The David was the final piece of our tour and it was worth the wait.

Itinerary
Step into the world of Michelangelo and admire some of his greatest masterpieces, including the iconic David, the powerful Prisoners, San Matteo and the Palestrina Pietà. Carved by the young Michelangelo from a single massive block of rough marble, the David took three years to complete and became one of the most celebrated symbols of Renaissance beauty and genius. Continue your journey through Florentine art with remarkable paintings from the 15th and 16th centuries, including works by Sandro Botticelli, Paolo Uccello and Domenico Ghirlandaio. With your audio commentary, uncover fascinating stories, artistic details and historical context that bring the gallery’s masterpieces vividly to life."

Go early... it can be very crowded but it is well worth the experience, no matter the crowds. The art leaves you with "goose bumps." I would also recommend that you purchase headphones or use a guide. Headphones served us well because it was easier to maneuver through the crowds.
Very awesome display of history. The only reason I give it 4 stars is there was way too much musical history.
The audio could have been better. It would have been helpful if it instructed you a route to take so it would follow the layout of museum or had each number correspond to a number room. (I could not figure out what room I was in)
I didn’t realize there was no tour guide for this tour. You met the “tour guide” and they gave you your tickets and that was it. Much cheaper to buy ticket and audio guide separately.
Learning about the history behind the pieces of art. Seeing all the pieces arts from Michael Angelo.
All the displays of the stunning artwork in this collection were magnificent! I would love to come back many times in the future. I would recommend this activity to all who come to Florence.
The Academia and the David were wonderful. The ticket which I bought from CAF through Get Your Guide is false advertising and I do not recommend you book with Get Your Guide or CAF Tour & Travel. I purchased a ticket with an "optional audio guide", which I found out requires an additional fee that is never mentioned in the booking materials! (Why would the ticket advertise something that it does not provide? Might as well offer "optional lunch" or "optional gift from the gift shop"!) When I contacted customer service Get Your Guide blamed CAF Tour & Travel, and nothing got resolved. While I recommend the David, I also recommend booking with someone else for your peace of mind.
Beware!!! If I could give this zero stars I would! We have used TripAdvisor for 8 different activities this trip alone all have been great EXCEPT for this one. The representative that checked us in ( Karla) was rude and not helpful. I paid for 3 people and had my receipt - she only had 2 people on her list so told us to go get in line to pay for 3 rd ticket. ( wait in line even though I paid for skip the line tickets.) we waited in line and when we got to the front they said they had no more tickets for the day and one of us was unable to go in. Beyond frustrating. Again, had a receipt as proof of # of people I paid for. Then we paid for audio tour but when we went to counter to collect our audio cassette she told me they do not recognize Viator and do not work with that company. This was a horrendous experience, I called to speak to them on the phone and they told us, sorry we can not help you. Go with another company- this tour was the most unorganized, rude, unhelpful group I have ever experienced!!!! Complete waste of money and ruined our morning!!!!
This option is ok if you plan to arrive at a peak hour or in the full season. Otherwise, a regular ticket makes more sense. We booked it for mid February and at 09.30 and there was no queue on the normal entrance.
Having the handsets to listen to descriptions of the various art works was very helpful. Easy to operate. Crowded but not jammed.
It was good to have the audio guide but we had a hard time finding where to hook up for the tickets .
Definitely purchase ticket in advance. Very busy venue. And get earliest possible entry. As time goes on during day crowd only gets worse.
Not much to be gained by using this service. If you can get your own skip the line tickets, you can rent the audio device within yourself. For ease, this worked for us, but for those on a budget, you can probably do this yourself for less.
Very informative guide and excellent tour of Academia. The tour was the perfect length with plenty of time spent with David.

One of our favorite, great skip the line a small venue, so we got to see it all.

beautiful experience, wonderful tour. easy to get through the lines!

Great to skip the line and get the audio to tell you about the superb art?

We were not pleased with the tour, and neither were any of the othermany people stuck in the 45 minute line to get into the Gallery. It really was a gong-show.....far below our expectations, and what we thought we had been promised in your marketing material....and far below the quality of the tours we got from other tour companies in Italy.
I have told my travel agent that we would never recommend Viator....nor do we believe that she should recommend it to any of her future customers.

Worth booking the Skip the line for this tour, as the line up was huge for non reservation!

Too expensive to visit this museum.. David to see obviously but overpriced.. Otherwise interesting visit, rather to do at 9 o'clock
highly recommended - well organized and implemented according to the booking - we had a wonderful visit without waiting at the Académie
The city of Florence suspended in the Renaissance must be missed and, when you go there, it would be unforgivable not to make a brief pass, especially tomorrow when there is less crowd, through the Galleria Dell'Academia, to enjoy the impressive David, by Michelangelo, with all its spectacularness, beauty and perfection. Besides many other works on display.
Very good option to save the queues and be able to make the visit with peace of mind. I would recommend this option to anyone who wants to visit La Academia.
