Neither my friend nor I, nor 3 of the 4 other people we asked, could understand virtually anything that the guide said. Her accent was too strong. Wasted our money on the guide part of this tour. Should have just bought timed entry tickets. Same problem with the paired tour of the Duomo. I submitted this review to Tour Guy in response to the Tour Guy email requesting a review, but it was not published. Maybe they only publish the 5 star reviews.

Francesca was a fantastic tour guide and seeing the David was amazing!
Guido was a phenomenal guide! Insured everyone stayed together and was very clear with explaining the artifacts in the museum. He was very helpful at narrating everything. Phenomenal person.
Sara G was awesome! Great tour. Sara walked us through the history of Michelangelo and the David while waiting in line (short wait). As we walk through the academia she provide more history and context to what we were looking at. There is also a museum of musical instruments that’s part of the tour. Really cool history behind many of them. I’d recommend this tour (and Sara) to friends and family.
Very thorough lots of info and kept us moving
Cozette is informative and very professional- she comes with a wealth of knowledge about Michelangelo and his work- the most famous was David I will look for her next time in Florence
The express tour was perfect, we met in the square near the museum and walked in a special entrance with the group rather than waiting in the main security line. Our guide was super informative and engaging. Gave us ample time to view statue of David as well as brought us to other exhibits in the museum. Highly recommend!
Fabiana was fabulous and was very friendly!
It was a great visit, we saw the big highlights and got some really interesting stories around the work and the artists.
This was a great and fast way to see David and get history.
I had a wonderful time exploring this museum!
Lucy, was a great tour guide. She was extremely knowledgeable and very informative about everything on the tour. We were very pleased with her abilities and her friendliness, and the way she treated everyone in the group. She's announced standing tour guide and I would recommend her to everyone.
Very efficient tour but with plenty of time for viewing David. Reliable and on-time guide. She provided interpretation of several works in the museum but most importantly she was able to walk us right past a giant line and right in to see David for as long as we wished.
Short tour but very informative. Elia was a wonderful guide. I would recommend this tour if you’re short on time and your main focus is to see David and a few other sculptures of Michelangelo.
Marius was a very knowledgeable and passionate host who gave very detailed perspective of Michaelangelo's David which enabled a very moving appreciation for this masterpiece. Would not have been as memorable without his presentation!
We had an amazing time with Gabriel and Fabio. As others have mentioned due to construction be prepared to walk about 15 mins to the bus but after that it’s pure relaxation and beauty. Highly recommend.
Very interesting ….good information!! Loved the pace of the tour!! Quick entrance to see David and learned so much about the city of Florence
Tour guide Elias was very knowledgeable and passionate about love of the Florence culture. I learned so much history. Elias was kind patient and willing to answer any question. No matter how small.
This tour was the highlight of our trip—skipping the line to see David was priceless, and our guide’s stories made Florence’s art and history come alive.
Great tour, very knowledgeable guide. Recommend to get in to see Statue of David quickly, just don’t plan on being inside and exploring too much on your own
Cosseta (I think that’s her name) was an amazing guide. She was so knowledgeable about everything and really enhanced the experience. I would definitely do more tours with her if I had the chance.
This was a nice overview of Florence, some art and history. We learned about the history and importance of the Ponte Vecchio and how it became a jewelry store hub (stinky meat), some medieval and Renaissance architecture and of course Michelangelo’s David. Our tour guide had a fun sense of humor too! Great value and easy way to get to see the David.
Great tour. Our guide was easy to understand. It was nice to learn the background about the art than just seeing it.
Perfect, quick, 1/2 day tour to see the David and a few other spots. Doesn't kill your whole day - great for the kids.
This walking tour was the perfect way to experience the highlights of Florence in just a few hours. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, offering fascinating stories about the city's rich history, architecture, and art without ever feeling rushed or overwhelming. The visit to the Accademia Gallery and seeing Michelangelo’s David up close was absolutely unforgettable. Our guide’s explanation of the sculpture’s significance and details made the experience even more powerful. We also got to explore iconic landmarks like the Duomo, Piazza della Signoria, and Ponte Vecchio, all while learning about Florence’s role in the Renaissance and the Medici legacy. Highly recommended for first-time visitors or anyone who wants to go beyond just seeing the sights and truly understand Florence. A great balance of walking, history, and art!
Had a great experience with Elia! Born and raised in Florence, he was a wealth of knowledge and information. It was the perfect three hours to spend with all the highlights of Florence. Left the afternoon for circling back and sightseeing beyond, and Elia gave us wonderful recommendations for gelato, cafés, shopping, and more!
Very informative, enjoyed the museum, the walk, the coverage, the explanations, the guide, everything
The tour was excellent and informative; our only issue was there was insufficient information to locate the meeting point as the square was full of people and the Tour Guy sign on his back was small so we ended up waiting at the Accademia entrance where their staff were very helpful.
Local guides were very helpful and did their best to assist, but the app never worked for showing the pickup location, only the ending location. We messaged the day before, tried the help option and nothing worked. We arrived at the only address listed 30 minutes before the tour started and it was the complete wrong location. We missed the first half of the tour because of this.
Short on time we chose a tour to get the most out of our stay in Florence. Viator made booking easy. The local tour guide was informative and provided excellent detail about what we were looking at.
This local tour company changed its meeting location less than 24 hours before the tour in an unclear email. We missed the trip and they refused to refund the money.
The description said we saw the highlights of Florence and that we did. We also got to skip the line to see the statue of David - wonderful. Recommend.
Our family loved our walking tour of Florence and it was a perfect way to start our visit to this beautiful city! Guido was extremely knowledgeable, engaging and connected with our kiddos (ages 13, 10, 4). He even provided markers and coloring pages to enhance the kiddos’ experience along the way. Our tour included skip the line entry with plenty of time to enjoy David, a gelato stop and a ride on a carousel, a highlight of our whole trip for our daughter. Guido was kind enough to even share restaurant recommendations. We highly recommend this as a wonderful family-friendly intro to Florence!
Our guide was very passionate and knowledgeable about Michelangelo and his works of art. We enjoyed learning about Florence's present and past during this walking tour!
Such an amazing tour with our guide Guido. He was unbelievably knowledgeable, friendly, and humorous. Enjoyed our time at the museum, Seeing the works of art, and then Guido took us around the city, teaching us something every minute. Whole process was super easy. Met the guides right on time, easy to find. Skipping the lines was the only way to go.
We enjoyed the tour very much and our tour guide, Guido, was very friendly, and extremely knowledgeable !
David was magnificent! Great tour with a knowledgeable and friendly tour guide. There was a marathon going on at the same time, but our tour guide was efficient and knew the short-cuts, and the tour operator was communicative to us about these changes. Thank you!
Great couple of hours. Negotiating the streets of Florence and ending with skip the line tickets for the Academia to see Michelangelo’s David. Knowledge and interesting guide with just a small group makes for a real treat.
Martin was very passionate about what she was guiding us in. Would like to commend her, also would like to provide her more tip, we only had a small bill so is there is a way to do that please let us know
Excellent walking tour of Florence taking in David and Accademia Gallery. Our guide was knowledgeable and we learned so much about the history of the city. He kept the tour going at a good pace but still allowed plenty of time to view the many wonderful works of art.
Lucia was an amazing guide! Having the headset was very helpful when navigating the crowds. We got to see areas we wouldn’t otherwise think to go to.
This walking tour was AMAZING! Our tour guide, Guido, was so engaging. My husband and I learned so much about different artists throughout Florence. Being able to skip the line to see David was so worth it. We did not wait in any line even though it was a very crowded week in Florence.
Lucia was an excellent tour guide - extremely knowledgeable and passionate about Florence’s deep history. Lucia was very personable and answered all questions well. We enjoyed our tour with Lucia and can recommend her to future travellers! Thank you!
Great tour! Knowledgable host who took the time to point out the historical significance of the things in front of us. Highly recommend!
The guide was sweet and very passionate about her subject. However we struggled to understand her English. We left half way through because during the walking part we were not getting anything at all
Amazing! Angelo was so prepared- i learned so much! The toir was well paced and really gave me a great starting point for my stay in Florence.
I cannot recommend the tour guy for tours. We arrived at the location in Florence and met with our tour guide, who informed us that we were not on the tour. We showed our receipt and tour tickets. He contacted the office, which insisted we were not on the tour. We show printed and emailed receipts and tickets, confirming the date and time. Unfortunately, they refused to let us join the tour. Our travel agent called the tour company, who eventually confirmed “The Tour Guy” mistakenly removed us from the tour. All we received was the typical “Sorry about that” message. We were the ones who had our day ruined and paid twice the price, scrambling to purchase last-minute tickets to attractions.
Very informative but elderly parents struggled with the pace of the tour. Very busy at Academia to see David.
The tour guide Frederica was wonderful. Great demeanor and very knowledgeable. The tour was definitely worth the time and cost. All the little tidbits she shared during the walk were very interesting and added to the overall experience when walking around in Florence.
This is a totally brilliant tour and so very worthwhile doing early in your visit to Florence. Our guide was very knowledgable and imparted his awareness of the subjects very fluently. I was particularly impressed with how he lead us through the development of religious art in the Accademia. His knowledge of the David sculpture was equally impressive. During the rest of my days in Florence I was reminded of so many of the things he had told us during the tour. I highly recommend this tour to you.
