I am writing to share feedback about a recent family dinner for six at your hotel's restaurant during our current stay with you (August 27th to August 30th, Rooms 316 and 318). While there was a bright spot in our evening, the overall experience was deeply disappointing due to the completely unacceptable behavior of one of your staff members. First, I want to highlight the outstanding service we received from Manjur. He was incredibly attentive, professional, and went out of his way to accommodate the dietary needs of a celiac member of our group. He is a true asset to your team, and honestly, the rest of the staff would do well to learn from his example. His approach to hospitality was flawless. Unfortunately, the behavior of his colleague—a Caucasian, slightly heavily built gentleman—was the complete opposite. The evening started with us realizing the menu in the rooms is entirely different from the restaurant menu. When we pointed this out, we were simply met with a dismissive "that's just how it is." We moved past this and ordered the recommended beef for two, priced at €80. We were warned there would be a delay between the dishes, which we understood and accepted. However, when the beef arrived on a wooden board, it was lukewarm—bordering on cold—and parts of it were completely raw, despite us ordering it medium-rare. I politely asked the aforementioned colleague if this was really the requested temperature. I even placed my hand over the meat to point out it was barely emitting any heat. His response was cold and dismissive. He told me it was impossible to heat it further and actually claimed it was almost "overdone." What happened next was entirely unprofessional. As he walked away from our table, he visibly mocked us—shrugging, shaking his head, and putting his hands to his face in exasperation. He then stood with another colleague, and we could see and hear them talking in Italian while staring directly at our table. This open disrespect completely ruined the dinner for our family. We tried to eat the meat, but it was simply too raw and getting colder by the minute. In the end, we just waited for our children to finish their margherita pizzas, paid our bill in full, and left. We expected a much higher standard of professionalism and culinary quality from Starhotels Michelangelo. I hope this feedback is taken seriously so that Manjur gets the recognition he deserves, and management addresses the shocking lack of courtesy displayed by the other staff member.

Great hotel, comfortable rooms, good location still to walk to the city center. Breakfast is excellent, with a pancake machine. The parking option was a big plus.
A modern well staffed hotel not far from the River. Rooms are excellent and good size - food was OK. Round the corner are a good self restaurants worth visiting.
Highly recommended! I stayed there with my group from Greece and we had a truly lovely stay. The overall experience exceeded our expectations, thanks to the exceptional professionalism and hospitality of the staff. The team at the front office, bar, restaurant, and housekeeping were all outstanding. A special thank you to Chiara, Elisa, Rita, and Filippo for their kindness, attention to detail, and excellent service throughout our stay. We felt genuinely welcomed and well taken care of, and I would definitely recommend this property without hesitation.
When I have to write a negative review, I’m always conflicted, because it’s never pleasant to judge people’s work too harshly. This time, however, I feel it’s necessary, as in my opinion the situation went beyond a simple mistake—something that can always happen. I stayed at this hotel as a guest for an event and immediately noticed that, for a four-star property, the building feels as if it’s in the final stretch of its life cycle. Its survival is probably ensured by the many events held just across the street at the Leopolda. One could overlook the slightly worn furnishings, and even the bathroom that feels like your aunt’s apartment waiting to be renovated—but unfortunately things escalated when, instead of water, mud came out of the shower. What followed was a response that was anything but customer-oriented. After my complaint, I was given the key to what was described as a room of equal value. After repacking my bags, I carried them myself to the new room (not a big deal, but there wasn’t even an offer to help), only to find that it was clearly not of equal value. Considering that, at the very least, a small upgrade or a gesture of apology is usually offered for the inconvenience, I instead ended up in a decidedly run-down room: no bathrobes, torn curtains, yellowed bathroom plasterwork, cracks in the walls, and even a couple of brief power outages at 8 in the morning. Overall, a thoroughly forgettable experience in a property that is in serious need of major renovation. One last note: for the first time in my life, I encountered a four-star hotel where scrambled eggs at breakfast were charged extra—definitely unusual.
